Self-cleaning oven
On 7/23, Sunday July 23rd, five days after purchasing my brand new oven i used the self cleaning mode only to experience my home filling with chemical fumes that I could hardly see through. My eyes were inflamed, itching, burning and watering! My white shutters had a blackish film afterwards. A few days later, I went to Home Depot to see if I could...

I bought a Cafe refrigerator in June of 2021-this was an expensive purchase, I thought I was getting a GE top of the line refrigerator, what a mistake. In 2022 the freezer went out a repair person came out he changed a piece plus put in a new gasket. This year August 2023 the freezer went out costing us hundreds of dollars in lost food. I paid for an...

This 30” wall oven is replacing an older oven in our home. It was installed and works fine but looks awful. There is a 2” gap at the bottom of the oven install. It shows the cabinet hole and unfinished wood. The prior oven did not do this. GE stopped providing a wider bottom trim piece. The installer said Whirlpool still sends both a small and larger trim piece. I called GE and the person looked and none is made.
Do not buy this oven if not being put in a new kitchen with custom cabinet to fit this.
Desired outcome: Provide me a 2” trim piece for this oven.

GE Refrigerator model GFE26JEMDS Serial # FT326328
Purchased From a reputable company, plugged in and 11 months later, the motor/condenser died. Paid $2600. Called GE service, what a joke. It is under warranty but taking 2 weeks to get parts and another week to get Tech back out. This leaves me without a fridge for over 3 weeks. I was told by Yolanda that there wasn't anything they could do. If I hadn't known about the joke of a food credit, she had no intention of offering to me. She said we can give you $100. Again, what a joke, told her I wanted to talk to her manager, she put me on hold and then offered me $200 and said managers don't talk to customers, again this is a joke. I am on my third week with no fridge and trust me $200 doesn't pay for the spoiled frozen and fresh food plus not having a fridge to buy and have essentials needed to eat for 3 weeks. I would not purchase this or another appliance from GE again. Oh, and I did buy washer/dryer/ range all GE and now waiting on those to die as well and will be out of warranty. Hold time to get to a person was over 40 minutes mutliple times.
Desired outcome: Some additional compensation for 3 weeks without a refrigerator and better customer service.
Washer
Filed a case [protected] 10/22/21 about my ge washer being only fourteen months old and the control panel malfunctioned. It was repaired by ge at no charge. Now not even a year and a half later the machine starts a cycle and abruptly ends leaving a tub full of water and dirty clothes. I called an incompetent repair service and they could not figure it out. Can you please tell me what the problem could be or advise me of someone who could repair the machine. I feel ge should compensate me in some way this was not a cheap washer and certainly should be operable for more than two or three years. As of now I have a washer full of dirty clothes and water that I cannot drain and will have to wring out by hand and take to the laundromat.
Thank you for your quick response to this very frustrating matter.
Elaine Karwatt
Desired outcome: Fix my washer
Complaint [protected] filed 10/22 faulty control panel replaced by ge 8/23 machine ends cycle abruptly after a few minutes. I called an incompetent service company they had no clue as to what was wrong. I am left with a tub full of dirty water, dirty clothes that I literally had to wring out by hand and now have to go to the laundromat. This is supposed to be a good washer it certainly should last more that two or three years. This machine in my opinion is a lemon and should be replaced
Tub full of water door open machine operated by itself had to unplug to stop water in tub gone
I feel I have a lemon of a washer and it should be replaced by ge I am a stock holder in your company
GE Profile Dryer
I bought this appliance from Home Depot in Bluffton SC on 11/29/2022. The dryer quit heating last Wednesday. That's unfortunate but I know things do happen. I called for service under my one year warranty. i called that day and was told there was no service contracted in that area and that I would hear back in 48 hours. I didn't hear back so I called again. Very nice folks in your service area and they contacted an out of area provider while I held on the call. My service is scheduled for 8/28/23 which is a bit more than 3 weeks after my initial call. I find this unreasonable at best and bordering on fraudulent at worst. How can you sell products with one year guarantees that you can't service in a reasonable time. Please get back to me as I have an easy solution I can share with you.
Thanks, GT Taylor

Double wall oven
We purchased this product new and it was installed June 23, 2023. The next day the oven lights would not go off and nothing worked on the control module. The repairman now says the part is back-ordered and he will not have it to install so we can use our oven until August 21. We never have had the opportunity to even use the oven. Doesn't GE test products before they are shipped. We are very disappointed and would return it if it won't leave a large opening in our kitchen wall.
Desired outcome: Extended warranty - I have little faith that this product will still be functioning in 2 years.?
GE Diswasher - Model GDT655SBL5TS / Serial No. FM832137B
I purchased the dishwasher in June of 2019 and I have had to serivce it three times. The most recent I was told that the computer board panel was out and needed to be replaced for a total cost of approximately $350 (parts/labor). I was also informed to replace the lower part of the dishwasher, which would have been an additional $300. I paid $1100 for the dishwasher and have paid the service fee everytime they have come out. At this point I have paid for the machine twice in servicing it.
Desired outcome: This is unacceptable and I am requesting that my machine be replaced at no cost to me as this machine is only 4 years old and the amount of times it has been serviced leads me to believe I received a "lemon" machine.
Café appliance promotions

Re: GE Café Promotions of Hestan Cue Smart Pan
To Whom It May Concern,
I was approved for the Hestan Cue™ Smart Pan - 11/21/2022 with claim no. [protected], because I purchased the GE Induction Cooktop. I have not received the pan and attempts to resolve the issue with Café Appliance Promotions at 360 Incentives [protected] have resulted in customer support initialing stating there were delays caused by manufacturing shortages of the pan. Each subsequent attempts to resolve the issue over the last eight months have resulted in customer service emphatically stating it was scheduled to ship and I would receive it within 2-3 weeks--this answer was supplied at least four times. On June 27, 2023, a supervisor Joseph provided me with an escalation ticket no. 8008702 and he would call me back by June 30, 2023, which he never did. A call to customer service occurred on July 7, 2023, resulting in a promise that I would receive the pan by July 20, 2023. When the pan was not delivered (again), I called customer service on July 21, 2023, and was informed that management was reviewing my claim. The representative went so far as to suggest I could call the pan manufacturer directly.
The following are calls/attempts I made on what dates and customer representative (note: although calls were made and received from November 2022, through March 2023, it wasn't until April 2023 that I began tracking conversations with dates/names/times and they are as follows:
• 4/27 James 0915 AKDT, claim [protected]
• 6/27 No answer 14:05 13 mins, 48 sec
• 6/27 Daniel 08:35 AKDT 36 mins, 50 secs) to Supervisor Joseph, Escalation Ticket: 8008702 (no email by 6/30 call back on 7/3)
• 7/7 Gina 09:11 (8mins, 30 sec) should receive by 7/20
• 7/21 Gonzalo 07:08 AKDT (17 mins 9 sec) - Joseph management is reviewing. Suggested I call Hesten Cue.
At this time, I have spent hours attempting resolution and feel customer service has repeatedly lied to me about shipping dates. If the pan is no longer available, a credit should be provided for the retail cost of the pan. This is starting to appear as false advertisement and fraudulent, and I may file complaints with appropriate Federal Trade Commission Bureau of Consumer Protection and Better Business Bureau and other media platforms.
General electric appliance - refrigerator - water filter
In March of 2020, I purchased a GE Refrigerator. It works fine. After purchase of my refrigerator (Model # GWE19JSLDFSS) which contained a water filtration system, I was frequently sent mailers soliciting purchase of replacement water filters. Late in 2020 I purchased a 3 pack of water filters. I tucked them away for future use. I forgot about the filters for quite awhile. When I finally went to replace my water filter, I realized the 3 pack that I had purchased was the WRONG FILTER (size and shape) for my model of refrigerator. I could not install them in my fridge. I went on the website to see about what could be done, since the ordering of the wrong filter was not my mistake. I found through chat feature and going to the parts return page on the website that I had no ability to return the filter because it had passed the 90 day return period. I had also made a similar inquiry via email and got no response. Finally, I called customer service directly and explained the situation. I was transferred to Consumer Relations and explained the situation again. The representative could not take action due to the return policy though understanding of my situation. The rep spoke to her manager to see what could be done. The manager also denied any kind of ability to return, be refunded for all or a portion of the items, or even a merchandise credit for the purchase of the CORRECT filters for my refrigerator. I was hoping to at least get some kind of credit or promo code to use for purchase of the correct filters. However, the best they could do was require that I order another water filter, save the receipt, and re-contact them to pursue what they told me would be a $25 rebate. This was based on a 3 pack of water filters I had purchased that were over $100. This would require me to give them more of my money, contact them, and hope that they would be able to give me the rebate. They could not even outline the process I would need to follow to get the rebate other than to call them back at the same number and it would be in their notes. I would likely have to mail them a copy of the receipt, but this part was not clear. I decided that was not very customer friendly. I acknowledged over and over that I should have checked the water filters at the time I received them, but the fact was that at the time I ordered them, I didn't need to change the filter yet. At their recommendation, I had purchased them for future use. Additionally, I receive promotional emails monthly, routinely offering promo codes to purchase the WRONG filters. Originally, when I ordered the filters, I used a form that was sent to me for the water filters based on my purchase. The form had the water filter model number on it and did not warn customers to double-check their own filter within the fridge to see if it was the same. Any typical customer would assume the pre-filled and customized form sent based on their purchase would be the correct filter. There was no place on the form either, to confirm the model # of the consumer's refrigerator to ensure what they sent would be a compatible filter. I continue to be solicited via paper mail and email with promotional content encouraging me to order the WRONG WATER FILTERS. The customer service representative could not even provide me a promotional code to apply to use in purchase of the correct filters, to get the 20% and free shipping that I was continually being solicited for. The customer service representatives were pleasant, friendly, and understanding, but also unable to take any remedial action. I am beyond frustrated that I am trying to maintain a relationship with GE and exprssed by intent to continue to purchase in the future, if only they could address the situation where I am out over $100 based on their mistake. They were not willing to acknowledge or correct their mistake in any way. It was not my fault that they sent me solicitation emails offering the WRONG product. Because of their incorrect marketing and sales, I purchased a product incompatible with my refrigerator. I acknowledged that I should've noticed it sooner, but did not get around to trying to install/replace my filter. However, I had NO REASON whatsoever to believe that when I did go to replace my filter, that it would be the wrong one. I went on the website after all that time and found out the correct filter for my refrigerator by entering the model and serial number. It would've been nice if GE had warned me to follow those steps to ensure I got the right filter, rather than send me letters and emails soliciting me to purchase the wrong filters. It would have been nice if GE had any desire to offer me some kind of offset to the money I was out based on their mistake. I acknowledged that I had waited a long time to replace my filters and find out the error, so I understood that I was beyond their normal return policy. However, I had hoped they could offer some form of remediation to address their part of the error other than a $25 rebate that would require me to jump through hoops to get it, AND make another purchase from them. Again not even giving me a discount on an online purchase, even though I receive % off discount promotions frequently by email and mail, to this day.
Desired outcome: Please refund me my purchase price.
Refrigerator
This all started when we purchased our refrigerator on 12/09/2021, We also purchased an extended warranty,
In less than a year the freezer quit worker. We called a repair company associated with Sears needless to say they never repaired it nor did we receive a refund. And the warranty Allstate never paid either. So I called GE and they got a repair man out and he fixed it. GE called the previous repair company and they were told they sent us a check which we never received, Fast forward to 3 weeks ago and now our icemaker quit working.
I really think we got a lemon. Always trusted GE but will probably not buy another refrigerator from them.
Just keep in mind we may have bought the one and only one that was a manfactory flaw.
Desired outcome: I work like the refrigerator to work!
Customer service
For starters I work midnights. I had scheduled service on my GE dryer for today 7/18/23. I called GE service line and waited at least 30 minutes before anyone answered.
Next, I asked about the GE website, apparently they have no clue about the GE website. Fine, I’ll carry on with question #2. The lady did give me a number to call for the assumed GE website.
#2. I asked am I still on schedule for service? Because I did not receive anything confirming that I’ll have service. She only
Very limited info. Not helpful!
I called the number she gave me. I waited again about 30 minutes. Then I heard someone answer, and ironically she (Dominic) was gone.
I basically called, wasted time for nothing!
Desired outcome: Proper customer service would be nice!!! Knowledgeable customer service is also in order. People willing to work and do their job! Answer the phone and not hang up.
GE 28 cu ft refrigerator not working
I bought a GE 28 cu ft refrigerator (Model# GFE28GYNGFS) on 11/26/21. On 7/8/23 it stopped cooling and freezing. I also purchased the 5 year extended warranty. I filed a claim with the warranty company as instructed on 7/9/23. I was told that due to my location someone would contact me to make an onsite visit to assess the problem, at which time they will order parts and make another trip when parts arrive. No guarantee on time frame to correct the problem. That was 2 days ago and I still haven't been contacted for even an initial visit. I spent $2000 for a refrigerator and another $300 for the warranty and 18 months later I have no fridge.
Desired outcome: Replacement refrigerator
Refrigerator. Model gss25iynrhfs
I bought a side by side ge refridge 6 months ago and attempted to change out the filter after 6 months of use and getting a red light indicator to change the filter.
The new filter I bought was the recommended a GE XWFE cartridge. When I replace it... it would not work. I tried putting old filterback in until problem was resolved. but that filter no longer worked.
Why does GE have a replacement filter that is designated as xwfe and still not work? It seems that some have a chip which I found out is what mine needs... and some do not.
GE should be ashamed of their design of the filter to require customers of a certain model fridge needing to replace with filter that has chip in it for a cost of over $50.
The ge filter I bought was designated as xwfe filter for gss25 model and it didnt work.
One should not have to go thru this kind of issue to replace a filter.
Call me at [protected]. I would love to explain in more detail.
Desired outcome: I would like some feedback on reason for this design of having this kind of filter needed for this model and justify the cost. A year warranty should not dictate this kind of design of filter.
GE Front Load Washer GFW850SPN1RS
Washer was purchased over 1 year ago and gifted to us by our daughter when she moved. Upon registration of the machine, GE notified that the warranty was expired and offered a 3 year extended warranty through Assurant. We bought the three year extended warranty. Washing machine then failed and GE was called. On May 09, 2023, the GE service tech replaced the main board and power supply unit in the machine. This did not fix the problem. Another part was ordered and service was scheduled for May 24, 2023. Next service date, the drum drive board was replaced. This did not fix the problem. Another part was ordered and service was scheduled for June 27, 2023. Next service date, the tech replaced the front control board and communications module. This did not fix the problem and the tech deemed the machine not repairable. He noted this in his service report to GE. GE was then contacted and they said that we would have to schedule any further service through Assurant, the extended warranty contractor. The next service was scheduled for July 10, 2023. GE Customer relations was informed of the problem on June 27, 2023 and were supposed to call or contact us within 24 to 48 hours. We never heard from them on this issue.
On service date of July 10, 2023, the technician again noted in his service ticket that the machine is unrepairable and the problem is still unresolved. Any further updates will be entered here in the future.
Desired outcome: Replace the unrepairable machine.
G E Rebate
We bought 5 appliances from the Cafe appliances line. Fridge, microwave, dishwasher, hood and oven. According to their advertisement on rebates we should be getting $900 back. We are getting the same run around. We are uploading everything correctly in the way that they are asking and they continue to come up with excuses or reasons something is incorrect. Even after talking to a representative several times and we are assured that everything will be approved the status remains unchanged. We submitted all of our paperwork January 10 2023 and it’s now July and we are no further along. This definitely seems like a class action lawsuit waiting to happen. So unbelievably frustrating.
Desired outcome: I would like my rebate of $900 as promised.
Dishwasher
I purchased a GE dishwasher, model DDT700SMN3ES on 5-09-21. There are only 2 people in our household, so it was seldom used. On 6-28, it wouldn't fill with water. A service tech came out and determined it was a bad sensor, but the sensor was built into the sump pump, and the part is no longer available.
Why would a lightly used dishwasher only last 2 years, (actually, slightly less ) and why would parts no longer be available? I spent $919.00 for this product to match my other GE appliances ( I have stove, refrigerator, and microwave- adora series.) How can we remedy this situation?
Desired outcome: replace dishwasher or send new part.
A new refrigerator
I have had service contractor here 5 times from Earl Feiden, kingston ny, in a 9 month period for a 2000. refrigerator.
He has been unable to figure our why refrigerator runs constantly, sounds like pop corn and is loud. He has changed tow fans. never helped. It is rarely quiet. There is something wrong with this unit. There isn't any water attached to unit.
I can't imagine how much electricity this is using. He was here yesterday july 3, 2023 called GE. GE said I'm not eligible for a new refrigerator. I want one that doesn't run constantly.
Desired outcome: New refrigerator
GE Refrigerator/Freezer GSS25GYPFCFS
Purchased from Lowes 08/07/22
March 28,2023 the ice dispenser actuator failed; the paddle lug broke off. I chose to replace it myself ordering an OEM part from Repair Clinic. Replaced the actuator; June 30th, 2023the paddle lug again broke off; I have no intent to repair it this time.
It is obvious in the design process that the material chosen (Plastic) to form the lug, the force against the lug when the actuator is pressed to the rear to release ice flow and the frequency of use was not considered.
This flawed design has me concerned as to what other poor design and or material choices, used to fabricate this refrigerator, were made either to reduce the cost of manufacture or just from plain sloppiness.
I used to trust GE appliances, no longer.
Desired outcome: It is my intent to replace the refrigerator even if I incur a loss; being retired living on social security this was a major purchase made counting on prior positive experience with GE products
