General Electric GE Crystal Clear 60watt

According to the packaging it states it has a 1 year life. First off that is false advertising because I bought the bulbs 3 months ago and they went completely out a little over a month ago. These were brand new bulbs I bought and for them to go out so soon seems odd. These bulbs were bought at a Family Dollar here in Shreveport, La. I feel this was a waste of money and time buying these for them to only go out a short time after buying them.

PC: 76239

Desc: 60CAC/CL/CD4-MPD

PK [protected]-2

UPC Code: [protected]

Desired outcome: I would desire a refund even though I don't have the original receipt anymore. My email address is : [protected]@gmail.com

General Electric GE microwave

Model: JVM3160RF5SS

Serial Number:TL234003A

Manufactured October 2018

I went to warm up my lunch, and when I opened the door to the microwave and closed it and went to set the time I got all asterisks (which was odd) and then I pushed the 30sec button and it started, then all of a sudden I heard a bunch of zinging, zapping, sparking and then flames and fire were shooting out the top of the microwave on the control panel side (above the time). I hit the breaker really quickly since I couldn’t reach above the flames to unplug the unit initially. The flames went out and I unplugged the unit.

Desired outcome: New microwave. This microwave is only 3years old for us, but is obviously defective.😡😩

General Electric GE Dryer, model GTD42EASJ2WW

This is the 2nd brand new GE dryer I've had since March 17th, 2022. The 1st dryer had electrical issues and after 2 technicians couldn't fix it (they actually made it worse) and begging and pleading with GE Service they finally agreed to exchange it. 2nd dryer arrived, 2 weeks later it's making a "sparking" type noise, GE repair comes out, takes dryer apart, can't figure out the noise, calls co-worker who states its the motor, week later new motor installed, tech runs dryer for 4-5 mins, no "sparking" noise, he leaves. I wash a load of laundry, throw it in the dryer, approximately 8 mins into cycle, "sparking" noise begins, this time it's worse than before the motor was replaced! Keep in mind, this dryer was delivered on May 2nd and all this is happening in the 1st week of June (took me that long for someone at GE to take me seriously)! I'm dealing with a helpful woman in the Consumer Affairs dept but I'm not getting any satisfaction. I'm being told there's nothing "unsafe" with my dryer and noises are normal so I emailed her a video with the "sparking" noise hoping someone at GE might know what it is! No one can diagnose the noise so in all honesty how does anyone know it's "safe"? A brand new dryer shouldn't be making "sparking" noises and a brand new dryer shouldnt need a new motor! All I want is my money back so I can purchase a dryer I feel safe with.

Desired outcome: Money back

General Electric Double oven service

About 6 weeks ago my oven malfunctioned and I had a GE service person out to diagnose the problem. I was told that the fan that cools has malfunctioning sensors that would need to be replaced. I was told they couldn’t come for about 3 weeks and that they would order the parts to be sent to my home. I scheduled the appointment and the parts arrived two days later. On the day they were scheduled to do the repair they did not show up. Mid day we called to see why they had not yet arrived and after a lengthy series of conversations learned that while they had our correct phone number, they had transposed the number and given the incorrect number to the technician who called and got no answer so did not come . Of course I was here waiting after having taken the day off work to meet them and I was not called as they called the wrong number due to their error. When we figured out what happened and they admitted the error they then told us they couldn’t get someone out again as it was a two person job for another two plus weeks. I escalated my complaint to the customer service department and she apologized for their error and said unfortunately that was the earliest they could get two people out and sent me 50 dollars compensation as I missed a day of work worth hundreds of dollars more than that and had to go without an oven for more weeks. The day before the rescheduled date we called as we were wary given what happened before just to remind them and tell them we would be here (took another day off work and lost compensation) and they told us they couldn’t come as it was a two person job. They knew that when they scheduled the revised date after their first error. THen someone else told us the parts were not here. Every person we talked to during several long conversations had a different story but they now said they couldn’t come for an additional two weeks. I called customer service again, they said that was outrageous and tried to find service and said they couldn’t find two people again before the new revised date. They apologized again for another error and said they would send me another 50 dollars (after being our much more for missing yet another day of work, much less now over a month without an oven. They indicated there was no additional supervisor to elevate my concerns to. Some of the people of spoke with were rude, others lied or provided misinformation about what happened and one hung up on me. So, I still have a non working oven, I’ve missed two days work and I have zero confidence t hey will come weeks out when they are supposed to. I can’t seem to find a high level complain number but wish to talk with someone to tell them the details of these serial errors and I want redress. They had the nerve to tell me they couldn’t control service. So I guess I am to take away that GE does not stand by its service?

Desired outcome: Someone to come fix my oven asap and compensation for time spent at home waiting for scheduled and confirmed appointments when no one showed up.

General Electric GE French-door 27 cft refrigerator

I ordered the french-door refrigerator through costco. It was to be delivered and installed at a new condominium unit, the address of which has not been updated in many GPS systems. The delivery was done by asking for cross road information. The installation could not be done because the refrigerator needed to be moved up the stairs and the handrail came in the way. We got the handrail removed and moved it up the stairs with some help. The installation guys now say that they are not able to find the address and defered the installation at least 3 times. They refused to take the cross road information and said that they need to find it on GPS and returned without installation. This happened for the third time and the refrigerator is sitting for the last one and half months waiting for installation. This is unacceptable and GE's customer service is very lacking.

Desired outcome: The delivery and installation guys should seek help in getting the address even if they cannot find the address on GPS.

General Electric General Electric top loading washing machine

I have bought a GE washing machine from Home Depot May 2022. It had a sign on the top that said "you can choose your water level" The salesman said we had 48 hours to return it. This is not true. . The water level does not cover my clothes. I tried all levels of water. If i put it on low it just squirts out a small amount of water and then starts to wash. The agitator works too hard as it doesn't have enough water in the machine. If i put it on high it fills about 1/3 of the tub. I have had 2 repairmen come to the house. Both repairmen said that is all the water it is going to put in machine as it is a water saving washer. I have to put in 2 loads of clothes to do 1 load of wash with my other washing machine. That does not make it water saving it all. I just to have wash more loads. I have to leave the water level at high all the time even though it does not fill up. I can't do a small amount of clothes and put it on low as it does not put very much water in the tub and it is not covering even a small amount of clothes. So now I have to wait til I get a full load as I have to have my machine on high all time even though it still doesn't fill up. Home Depot has told me that this is just "buyer's remorse" and they will not refund my money.

Desired outcome: A refund so then I can go to Lowes and buy a better washing machine. Salesman at Home Depot should have explained that this is a water saving machine and will never fill up the tub

We have the exact same problem as Scott Trish mentioned in the complaint above. We purchased our GE Washer model GTW580BMROWS which we received and installed July 6/2022 and found that it would only give enough water to barely wet the clothes and then immediately go into "wash cycle" even when it was the "deep fill button was pushed" We called for repair service and the repairman didn't have much better luck. He ordered a new control panel for which we will have to to wait for up to a minimum of 2 weeks. in the meantime I have to watch the machine to be sure it's getting enough water to wash my clothes. there's no time saving there. It would be quicker taking my laundry down to the river and beating them on some rocks. The store wouldn't take it back and we are totally disappointed with this product and it's sub standard performance from day one. We will never recommend a GE washer to anyone especially with the sensor controls. What a disaster and it sure doesn't look good on GE or the Brick for handling this mess of an appliance

General Electric Customer service

2 year old over the stove microwave which I’ve used many times to make a baked potato. I had a fire and the entire microwave was destroyed. I had pressed, as always, the self sensor potato button and walked away. In less than 2 minutes, my fire alarms went off and the entire house filled with smoke. Ge is blaming the potato, even after I insisted it was a malfunction. Why not trust your customer. Someone is not going to be as lucky as me.

Desired outcome: Refund $341.60 and more importantly they should find out if it was a malfunction and not the potato. Someone could die

General Electric Microwave case # [protected] model JVM6175SK3SS

Serial #AR209578B. 6/14/2022 put potato and press potato button as I have done for two years since buying this microwave. Within 2 minutes fire alarms ringing house filled with smoke. Opened door to microwave and upon doing so fire went out. The entire microwave melted and burned. Fire chief here. GE is replacing at a lower cost but I believe in my gut that this was a malfunction and want GE to investigate why it happened. They should be concerned. I also feel they should replace a two year old expensive over oven microwave free of cost. I want an answer of what caused this fire.

Desired outcome: Investigate cause of malfunction and replace microwave at no cost

Purchased a GE range model-JB735SPSS and soon found out that the outer part of the stove under the handle was too hot to touch. We have small children and were concerned about the safety. Ultimately had three service guys come out with no results. One saying it was very hot to the touch and two more that said that nothing could be done .Extremely disappointed in GE for not backing their product! .

General Electric Delivery person damaged my cabinets

GE arranged to deliver a dishwasher purchased from them online. The delivery person used brackets on the side of a dishwasher to install it into my brand-new white lacquer cabinets. He used screws that were too long that he pulled out of his tool bag instead of the ones that came with the brackets. They went all the way through my cabinets and put holes in there on the wall where it shows. He became very agitated and forceful telling me I needed to sign off on the paperwork. I called the phone number he provided me with and they said just write on the paper what damage was done and we will take care of it. The next day someone called from Ralph’s transports and said that they did not believe anything I was saying and they were not going to cover any other damages. I called GE also at the time the damages were done on June 6, 2022 and told them what was happening. They also told me that they would be filing a claim with their insurance and will take care of this. Now GE will not take care of it and the company that did the damage will not take care of it.

Desired outcome: . I want someone to pay for the damages to my cabinet, the dishwasher, and the flooring that was done. All three items are damaged but the worst damages to the cabinets.

General Electric Washer/dryer set

Have had 2 sets of washers and dryers that did not last a total span of 5 years. 1st set started putting black marks on clothing, would not balance or spin out correctly and could not be repaired. Company allowed me to buy a 2nd set at reduced rate of $200 each. With this set, the circuit board went out in 8 months as well as the machine staying unbalanced with spin issues from the get-go. Was told circuit board would not be available until July 15th (This was May 9th. No resolution from GE offered except for me to use a laundromat. The nearest laundry center to me is 45 miles. So, I pretty much was forced to go out and buy a new set of appliances. Lowe's was nice enough to buy my set back at the original price, but I was still out the $400 for the 2nd set. Who controls what this company is getting away with? Why aren't these defunct machines recalled? Covid can't continue to be the excuse from now on. ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY GE. Do not sell junk to customers that you yourselves can't fix. The call center technicians just send you around and around in circles telling you a bunch of lies to get you off the phone. I have done this twice now and know their tactics well. The case managers are useless. They go away for days waiting on answers from higher ups that just leave the customer hanging in limbo.

Desired outcome: I think it is only fair to refund my $400 for the 2nd set of appliances.

General Electric Monogram column fridge, monogram column freezer, monogram dishwasher

We ordered the whole Monogram kitchen line Nov '21. The appliances came in (except for the range hood) and were installed April '22, but the stainless steel panels ($750/ea) were scratched and dented for both fridge & freezer. The door handle was missing for the freezer, the fridge & freezer door alarm wouldn't stop, and the light wouldn't come on for either one when we opened the door. We had to disable it until installers could return to look at it.

While we waited for the replacement parts to come in, we noticed the freezer kept frosting over. We also had trouble with the dishwasher front left wheel coming off. We were told that all would require a service call. Not what we expected for a brand-new appliance costing $8500 each!

Five weeks later, the fridge & freezer panels came in... Also scratched & dented. Installers got the door alarm to stay off on the fridge, but the freezer was missing a door part that triggers the light/door alarm. We're still waiting on those parts and not looking forward to paying a service call on our brand-new appliances to get the freezer to stay frozen and the dishwasher to wheel out.

Desired outcome: Appliances corrected in a timely manner without incurring costs over the initial purchase and installation costs. If appliances can't work and look as presented in the promo material, then a refund is in order.

General Electric GE Dishwasher Model #PBT860SSMSS

I received my new dishwasher on January 8, 2022 and it started flashing 2H 20 which I understand is a code to start a cycle, but I never attempted to start a cycle and the only way to clear it was to start the dishwasher. This started to happen on a regular basis so I placed a service call and a technician came on March 8, 2022. First he tried to tell me that this happens whenever to door is opened, then he tried to tell me that I tried to start a code and if not me, someone else did (I live alone, nobody would do that) then he said he needed to speak to the manufacturer. They called me back 2 days later and came and replace a part but would not tell me what they replaced and asked me to sign his tablet without giving me anything! The problem has happened again and on June 1, 2022 I again had 2 technicians come to look at the unit. They also left saying they had to check with the manufacturer. Today I received a call from the technician informing me that it is probably caused by a power flicker and not to worry. Although, if there was a power flicker my other appliances would be effected as I have my kitchen on a separate circuit breaker box. I also informed the tech that my dishwasher was now beeping and flashing 11 without anyone touching the appliance! I feel like the warranty will run out and there still will be a problem with the unit. I will never by GE again.

Desired outcome: Replacement or refund

General Electric ge cafe counter depth refrigerator

I ordered and paid 3800$ for GE cafe black refrigerator. I waited 14/15 mo for th unit to show up. First unit showed up with massive scratch and dent on the unit. Service left the unit as a loaner and put me back at the top of the list to receive another unit. 2-3 weeks later I am scheduled for another unit. Unit shows up, gets unboxed and has a considerably large dent across the front of the unit. 2-3 weeks later unit #3 is scheduled for delivery. Shows up looks good and we make the swap. I let unit cool off for about 24 hrs and all seems well. By the 3rd day the unit is no longer cooling. Call for service, wait for 4-5 days while living in ice chest and 1 mini fridge. Tech shows and claims the unit is unrepairable and will need to wait for an engineer claim and go back to waiting again yet for another unit. When we call to get a status we are told the units are on a nationwide back order and have no available ETA. So now we wait for our 4th unit while we are living out of 2 mini fridges now. Basically just a storage box and we have resorted to eating out every night. 2-3 weeks later a 4th unit is designated for delivery. 4th unit shows up and is cosmetically ok and appears to be in good working order. We had the unit for about 4 weeks working and yet the compressor has now failed. We had to wait a week for a service tech, a week for parts to show up, and now another week to get a service tech to come back and install the parts. I have called and asked for urgency in getting my unit replaced/fixed just anything. When you spend 4000$ on refrigerator you expect a higer quality unit and with top notch customer service. No one wants to help expedite or care that i have been living out of mini fridges and fast food for a really long time. Can somone please help me get my fridge replaced/repaired what ever it takes. This is the absolute worst consumer experience i have ever encountered in my entire life.

Desired outcome: Fix this unit ASAP, not in a weeks time and not by some 3rd party tech. Extend my warranty. Replace this unit.

General Electric Portable air conditioner with heat

I bought the unit in August of 2021 and it worked fine for 2 months. March of 2022, I turned it on and noticed that cold air is not coming out of the front and the exhaust is not blowing hot air. I call to use the warranty and was told I would get a goodwill certificate and that I would have to use my own money to buy another one, and then I would get reimbursed in 6 to 8 weeks. The manual said that they are supposed to send a carton to mail the unit back and that they would send another one. I don’t have an extra $650 to buy another one and am out a unit at the start of summer! Very disappointed and will never buy anything GE again.

Desired outcome: Honor the warranty the way it’s written and send me another unit.

I purchased a GE AC unit Model #AKLK18AAG1 on 6/23/2021 and used it for approximately 2 months. I turned it on May 25, 2022 and the air did not blow cold. GE tech came out on 5/7/2022 but did not add refrigerant and said they no longer make this model. He said GE would get back in touch within 48 hours. The only thing I received was a survey. I have spoken to at least 5 employees and they all give me the runaround. My unit is still under warranty. They said something about a a goodwill certificate or rebate but to date I have not received anything. I have been a loyal GE customer for over 30 years and it is very heartbreaking that they are exhibiting this behavior.

General Electric GE CAFE Refrigerator

DO NOT BUY A GE CAFE REFRIGERATOR!

I have been having issues with 2 GE CAFE refrigerators. I have contacted GE Customer Relations several times and have been overly patient with GE. My patience of over 3 years has been spent so I am filing complaint online today and make current and potential future GE consumers aware of the poor customer service and product guarantees.

I originally had issues with my original GE CAFE and i had an extended warranty. I had it services around 3 times and GE sent out 3rd party technicians that were not trained to high quality service level. The last 3rd party technician came out on the 3rd call and cut the refrigerators wires too short. I demanded a GE Official Certified Technician come out and they evaluated my GE CAFE Refrigerator and said it was not repairable since it was INCORRECTLY repaired by the 3rd party technician sent by GE. I was very frustrated and contacted GE Customer Relations to resolve the issue. They never admitted they were at fault and it took several calls for them to help me replace my refrigerator. GE should have offered to replace my refrigerator since it was their FAULT that I needed to replace the refrigerator. However, they did not replace my refrigerator, instead they offered me a very low amount of a prorated credit to purchase a new GE Refrigerator. They low balled me since the refrigerator was not very old and it was GE's FAULT that it needed to be replaced. After several calls with GE Customer Relations they slightly raised the GE refrigerator by a SMALL amount. I was already over 1 month without a refrigerator working so I had to settle and get the small credit and pay a higher price for the new GE Refrigerators. (I only bought GE because it matched all of my other GE appliance that I bought in my remodeled kitchen (stovetop, ovens, dishwasher, microwave). This is only the start of my GE Customer Relations issues.

In the beginning of 2019 I purchased another GE CAFE refrigerator to replace the refrigerator noted in the paragraph above. However, within the 1st year I had issues with the new GE CAFE Refrigerator. It was under the GE Warranty and I contacted to have the refrigerator serviced since the food in my refrigerator was freezing and it was leaking water. Since the start of the service on my GE CAFE Refrigerator that began in early 2020, I have had technicians come out at least 12 times and called GE Customer relations at least 30 times with at least a 2 hour wait each time! I didn't want to deal with 3rd party undertrained/cheaper technicians so I ALWAYS asked for an official GE Technician. I have asked several times for GE Customer Relations to REPLACE the DEFECTIVE GE Refrigerator that I paid a lot for and also an extended warranty. GE, you need to STAND BY YOUR PRODUCT. Each time I get the same response from GE Customer Relations that they are concerned with my issue but can only give me a small credit amount. I don't want to make the same mistake and get a small credit and buy a brand new overpriced GE Product so I am waiting for GE to REPLACE their product as they should.

I will spend 2 hours tomorrow waiting for GE Customer Relations and ask them for the fifth time to REPLACE their warranted DEFECTIVE product. Based on my history with GE Customer Relations, I will probably have their technician come out and try to fix it but the recurring icing of my refrigerator will happen. I have lost at least $600 in my family food that have frozen in my refrigerator over the past 2 years. I have also been home for each service techncian to come and fix the GE Refrigerator.

Desired outcome: Replace my DEFECTIVE GE Refrigerator.

General Electric Model 040378; Serial [protected]; BTU 's, 299,00, MODULES

I purchased a GE Generator Home Generator System, at a premium cost because of the addition of modular units as a special way to energize the system in a sequential action (my interpretation). Within the first warranty year and as soon as I started to use the generator, the modules began to fail and the installation company just removed them and said that GE was no longer manufacturing them, because they did not work. The installation company assuaged our concerns about the operation of the generator and were told it would still work! But, not so! When these modules failed some caused problems with appliances which would not start after the generator was used, hence, removal to restore normal working and repair calls to the installer.

I would have contacted you as soon as the first one failed, but I believed the installer, at that time. I also was under stress due to my health, including surgeries and other hospitalizations that affected my emotional, cognitive and physical condition. I sent an email to GE previously, but received no response, and don't know if you received it. I am disabled, 80 years old, rely often on my power wheelchair and by-pass machine for apnea.

We have had to use our generator over the years with problems related to appliances' failure to start, and subsequent removal of the MODULAR UNITS, but I think that GE should replace the modular units. They cost me significantly more money and I seem to have no recourse., from the installer.

The Ge generator was purchased on January 1/27/2014.

Generator: GE Auto Standby 17kw generator with 4 modulating control boxes.

Model 040378; Serial [protected]; BTU 's, 299,000.

Desired outcome: I chose this one, at considerably more expense because of these modules. I want these modules to be replaced with working ones by GE at no expense to me.
