I bought a Cafe refrigerator in June of 2021-this was an expensive purchase, I thought I was getting a GE top of the line refrigerator, what a mistake. In 2022 the freezer went out a repair person came out he changed a piece plus put in a new gasket. This year August 2023 the freezer went out costing us hundreds of dollars in lost food. I paid for an extended warranty that expired 6/2023. The repair came out for the diagnostics on 8/18/23. I called the service department spoke to Vincent where they were able to give me a concession for the repairs on 8/18/23. HE stated the repair person would be here for a repair on 8/22/23 between 8-12 PM. I took the morning off from work to wait. I called GE again to see where the tech was. They found him I got a call from tech at 12:40 he was here but he needed to order the parts! I was told he would be here for repairs not another diagnostic session; why was this not communicated? I am so upset with the service but more than anything is to have a LEMON of a refrigerator with no recourse. This is the first time in my life I've had to have a refrigerator, or any appliance serviced, I give them away in excellent condition.
This is the 2nd time with the same issue. I asked for a replacement I was offered a prorated appliance; really/ after spending $3800.00 in 2021! I am beyond disappointed with the GE CAFE line as well as the lack of communication. I am now 3 weeks without a freezer and told maybe by September I can be serviced.
Desired outcome: A Refrigerator that works.
