oil eating engine that affects cylinders - rough idle
I have a 2012 Silverado LTZ with a 5.3 L engine. Check engine light came on so I took it to the dealer. He said it was the #1 cylinder misfire caused by oil in on the plug. The engine is using 2 quarts of oil in 4000 miles and has developed a rough idle. Found out that this is a common problem in the 5.3 L engine.
When I asked if there is a recall on this problem the dealer said no and they weren't expecting any. On the internet I saw many reports of the same problem; there was a recall for the 2011 and older but not for 2012 and newer.
Why wasn't this addressed when GM knew of the problem before the 2012s were released? The dealer's answer is that I need a new engine for over $8000. This is my third Chevy pickup, but it may be my last.
valley cadillac
Beware of this dealership's used car department. I am an out of state internet buyer. Long story short. I was trading on a used unit. They sent me a qoute on my trade and we agreed on a price and a payment. Next day they sent me a copy of the agreement and they tried to slide my trade in at $3, 000.00 less than agreed. Also added a $3, 400.00 extended warranty in the deal without asking me. When I called my salesman. They said that their sales manager was not in that day and his stand in tried all of that. They made it right but omitted to tell me that the unit had been in an accident that was on Carfax. Between loan fraud and wrecked unit I backed out. I contacted them 10 days later to see why my $2, 000.00 deposit wasn't returned? My salesman said they still had the unit and would honor the original deal and make the deal work if I was interested. I was. Today they call me back and says the payment was going to be $30.00 more per month because I waited. That was enough. Still haven't received deposit back.
I have logged complaint with BBB, General Motors and
anybody else we can think of.
Buyer beware.
changing headlamp bulb
I think it is bad safety that it takes so much effort to change a headlight bulb: I have to take time off work, expense of rental car, cars there all day, a couple hundred dollars being that the front bumper must be removed. Ridiculous! I know that I have been driving with one headlight due to the major inconvenience of getting it changed. It is very bad safety and I am sure that I am not the only one because I see one-headlighters on the road as well. Bad design, poor thought out plan for a dang lightbulb!
Post your update to your complaint here
thank you.
2010 chevrolet camaro with very low mileage
I have a 2010 Chevy Camaro with low miles. When i say low mileage im talking 38, 000 miles on my car... Now my problem is this i have a check engine light on that states a code of p0008 which is the timing chain and tensioner. My car is no longer under warranty . I have taken it to a few places to get a idea of how much it will cost and it will be over 700.00.
The issue is this, the mechanics say that this car should not have this issue. Because the engine is almost new.. My question is this, how in the world is my car having this problem. I did my research on this and there are many complaints about this same issue.
dealership refusal to return deposit
I was going to buy a used truck from Amesbury Chevrolet. the deal did not work out due to the finance options they were offering me. I was told that my deposit was fully refundable. when I asked for my deposit back, I was told that It was not going to be given back. general sales manager was very rude and almost to the point of violent . I have left voice mails to try and speak with the owner, but have not heard back from him. all I want is my deposit back . I am hoping that this e-mail will help resolve this matter.
2019 gmc denali truck
With much anticipation I flew to Seattle to see a brand new GMC Denali Truck. I am a lifelong GM owner and don't really consider the other brands. That being said I was shocked at how cheap the interior felt of this truck. Leather like rubber. Dash material so cheap it looked like a 10 year old Kia. And the 110v and USB outlets just hanging out with no cover. I kept looking to see it something was broken and the cover was missing. And a tailgate you can't open unless you have the keys on your person. Ridiculous.
I kept looking and looking and realized how mad I would be writing a check every month for this truck for $8-900 and decided I wouldn't do it. I'll just keep my 2002 GMC, the last one that looked like it was actually a coherent design. Go sit in your Denali and go sit in a $65, 000 Ford and tell me which one feels worth the price. You need to do better if you want my money.
2018 chevrolet equinox
I leased a 2018 Equinox on July 12th, 2018. I put almost 4, 000 down on this to have a lower lease payment. on Sept 9th, 2018, I hit a deer and totaled this vehicle. I then received a recall on this vehicle, about a brake issue. I sent all the paperwork in to GM. On the insurance claim, the receipt for my down payment, I would like to know why nobody has responded? I would like some compensation back from all the money I put down, I only had this vehicle for 2 months? And I did not get a better deal on my new 2019 lease? Even with the GM discount? This accident could have been caused from the brake recall. It is the first accident I even had in my 39 years of driving!
back up camera
This is a safety issue, I love the back up camera during the day. But, when it comes to using the camera at night it is not safe. The camera is so bright inside the cab I have a hard time looking at my mirrors. zzzI almost ran over my grand son because I just didn't see him. The camera is so bright that visually the driver can not see other key items while backing.
Chevy needs to come up with a way to tone down the brightness before someone gets hurt or run over. PLEASE do something about this issue soon.
2016 yukon denali xl
I purchased my Yukon Denali XL brand new in August of 2016. It has 61, 000 miles on it. It has been having shakiness in the front end along with bounciness. It also downshifts hard. Sometimes it feels like it has a hard drop. It was into the dealership at 59, 000 for the engine drop problem and they replaced a sensor. It still has the same problem. Being that the warranty is only 36, 000 miles and the powertrain is 60, 000 miles, I am reluctant to bring it back in. I brought it to a mechanic, who I trust, to find that the whole front end strut assembly needed to be replaced. I replaced it yesterday for 1800.00. It would've cost far more at the dealership. My mechanic said that I shouldn't need to replace my struts until at least 100, 000 miles and he thought there would be a recall coming out on it. For an $80, 000 truck I shouldn't be having these problems. I would like to know if GM will be recalling the front strut assembly on 2016 Yukon Denali's. Please let me know how GM can be of assistance regarding my 2016 Yukon Denali XL.

I purchased this vehicle new on 05-09-11 from Expressway Buick in Mt. Vernon, Indiana. Cost of vehicle: $37, 458.50, 84 month, 75, 000 mile service contract: $1, 935.00. I've had all needed service work done at this dealership.
My problem happened on 09-19-18, after a 650 mile trip to New Orleans, LA, 70125, I parked my vehicle at a Walmart parking lot, shopped and when I came out to start my vehicle, the engine wouldn't turn over, no service engine light, etc. had ever came on at this time. I got a Jump Start Service, the engine still wouldn't turn over. I had my vehicle towed to Mossy Motors 1331 South Broad Street New Orleans, LA 70125, the Service Manager's name was Eddie Adler.
The dealership gave me a loaner car to drive. About 2 hrs. later, I received a call from the Service Manager telling me that the engine on my car was locked up and that I would need a new engine! The original engine only had 72, 826 miles when this happened. Of course, the 84 month, 75, 000 mile Service Contract had expired on 05-09-18, approximately 4 months before my vehicle engine locked up!
After the repair was done, I was billed $9, 700.00 for the engine replacement! I wouldn't be so upset if my Enclave would've had over 150, 00 miles but 72, 826 miles was ridiculous!
This 2011 Enclave is the 7th new GMC vehicle that I have purchase, I've never had any engine problems before this 2011 Enclave!
I want to know if there has been any problems, recalls, etc. with this particular engine?
I don't think I should be stuck with this total cost, $9, 700.00!
I have no complaints with Mossy Motors. PLEASE REPLY !

My husband and I have not had a customer service friendly experience with Cable Dahmer Chevrolet in Independence/Kansas City. We had 2 vehicles that needed to be traded and we realize that one had a larger loan and we would have to put money down. We were told not to bother to come in at the Independence MO location and at the Kansas City location they took our information and would just never communicate with us. They did tell us that a staff person had a car accident but we would hear back the next day. To date we never heard a word. I called and shared that we would be moving forward with a purchase of Volkswagen and again I received the same about the girl having a wreck and that really we would just need to put $20, 000 down and that would take care of the inequity. Then I was told how they are human and make errors etc. As I recall we are the customer. I will be sharing my experience in regard to this situation on social media as we felt we at least deserved a call back.
hennessy cadillac duluth ga
Took my 2013 Cadillac XTS Platinum in for catalyst converter repair and oil change on October 4, 18. My wife went to pick it up on October 5, 18 and drove about 2.5 miles noticing the air conditioner was not blowing cold air. She assumed it was cooling down as it was over 90 degrees at the time when she left the dealer. I called the dealer and left 2 messages never to get a return call from the service rep Shannon. I then called and left a message with the GM only to get a return call the next day after I hand returned the car. The AC never had any issues and was working properly when I brought the car in. Long story short they claimed it was not their issue and the Compressor stopped working evidently after I dropped off the car! My wife noticed the car's clock was 3 hrs behind and the dealer mechanic said he disabled the battery in order to replace the front catalytic converter... It was $1056 for this repair and now I'm facing the A/C compressor replacement when there was nothing wrong with it when it was dropped off.
This same dealership misdiagnosed the OnStar unit failure and charged me over $1400 in repair costs for a repair that would have been around $800 and kept the car for over a month (though I did get a loaner).

lease of a vehicle
I leased a car from Haley GM in Sechelt BC back in August. I submitted all the documentation I was supposed to submit for payments to come out of my bank account. Turns out they are really mixed up about my auto pay. Its been a battle trying to make my payments. Contacting them has been a nightmare. I'm told it's setup then I'm told it's not. I called Haley GM in Sechelt multiple times to ask if they know anything or can help. One of the last phone calls with Patrick, I was told he was going to talk to someone he knows at GMfinancial and get this all sorted. He said You have a couple days before your payment is due so let me figure this out. The extra fees you've had to pay at western union I'll reimburse you. So I waited to hear from him and nothing. I called back today. The day my payment is due. He was very rude so I said you know what maybe I should just give the car back cause I'm done. He said sure you can do that. He said it's not his problem. My payment still hasn't come out of my account. I have to go today and pay another payment thru western union and won't be reimbursed apparently. Patrick said you can fight the battle with GM Financial alone. I asked why there's a battle in the first place. I have been trying to figure this out since I got the vehicle. Everytime I've called GM Financial I get the run around. So I'm left with a vehicle that I have to go to western union every month and make my payments on top of the fee they charge. Ya that's exactly what I signed up for.
My name is Fred Reynolds, and I live in Upstate New York. I have been buying GM Canyons since 2009 ( every 2 - 3 years). I will not purchase another GM vehicle unless it has a key start and a FUEL CAP. And you call this American engineering. I can't believe with all the money that it costs for these vehicles, and you can't put a cap on the gas tank. This is insane. Both my wife and I have only purchased GM cars and trucks for years and will buy another until this gets changed. I am really very UNHAPPY with this.
2014 corvette
You left something off my 2014 Corvette. 1G1YJ2D7XE513399
I was told that I need a "tow hook" in case my Corvette needs to be towed.
No tow hook was supplied with the car.
So I try to buy a tow hook in case I need it,
No sense buying one because you did not install a receiver. neither in the front or back of my 2014 Corvette. After 2014 you installed receivers.
Will you please install the receivers that you failed to put on my car?

dealership unable to resolve problem with 2013 buick lacrosse display screen
Display Screen blank out at times, #PIC6158B Radio freezes and/or Resets, USB Radio Reprogramming with SPS 2810335 0 . 3 USB 0 . 3.
This issue has been ongoing even though the Dealership replaced the Display Screen and Radio in vehicle. It has happened when I first start the car and while driving around. First took it to Wolfchase, 8500 Hwy 64, Bartlett, TN [protected]) (Service Advisor: Austin Warrington - Customer #267257) in 2017. I have no complaint with how the Dealership has handled the situation, as they are at a loss as to why this problem is occurring and have reported it to the manufacturer.
I have filed a complaint with the NHTSA about this issue and saw there were other Owners with this same issue. This problem interferes with my Navigational System which is a huge problem while using it, Bluetooth, Radio, etc., when it blanks out.
Would like someone from the General Motors Corporation Manufacturer's Quality Control, or Engineering Department to investigate this matter. A Recall maybe needed.
Sincerely,
B. Thompson

See attached subject receipt which contains details of the problem. After this engine was replaced and I paid for the new motor, the check engine light came on within 40 miles of the dealership. The code was a bad catylitic converter. They wanted me to pay an additional $1700 for the replacement. I provided documents from the US EPA on EPA-410-F-15-035 which required manufacturers to warranty such vehicles for emissons control. Thereafter, the dealership replaced the converter at no charge to me. I maintain that the injector going bad caused the need for the engine to go bad and then the converter. I have always been a GM owner and sincerely wish that the cost of the rebuilt motor be the responsibility of GM the manufacturer. This vehicle had 76000 miles at the time of the event.
car dealership
I went to Cummings Chevrolet in National City on October 17th 2018 to look at Camaros. After deciding that I could not afford the price that they were asking for I got up to leave. The dealership had taken my car that I wanted to trade in on a test drive. So they had the keys to the car. I kept telling them That I have an appointment a 5 PM, I got to go. So when I got up to go to my car to leave, there was no keys in the car. They were hiding my keys so I couldn't leave. So once again a sales person pounced on me and pressured me and I bought a car that I really could not afford. Sleazy tactics. Came to find out that one of the sales persons had hidden the keys and as I was about to leave with the new car I needed to get stuff out of the old one and the key to open the trunk came up immediately . They overcharged me by about $3500. Not happy at all with Cummings Chevrolet to say the least. The owner of the company was there too. Thin blonde headed man, he went along with the whole charade, the whole farce deception.. Sleazy sale tactics.
unethical behavior of dealer
On 10/22/2018 i along with my son&daughter-in-law went into atlantic chevrolet dealer in bayshore to try and purchase a used suv the salesman glenn tried to help and when we finally got to the car they wanted we checked out the financing only to find that the price advertised was not the true price and the deal could not be done then they said that they had just taken in an suva buick enclave that was dark grey and had what they wanted it was dark so my son went outside to look at it and came back in and we wrot6e the deal with the finance mgr craig he took aq $2000.00 deposit and we left with the understanding my daughter-in -law would come by in the am to look at vehicle nwhen she got htere and was given the key the vehicle was not grey but purple and scratches all over the side and interior filthy when i found this out i immediately called the dealer and advised i would be down to cxl the deal and get deposit back. I spoke with a manager named tim murphy who took my receipt and credit card used and wrote up refund and advised me that i would have my money back in 24-48 hrs from 10/23/2018 when cxlation was done it is now 10/29 and i still don't have my refund and when i tried to contact the mananger from 10/25up to today i was given the run around i finally got tim murphy today and was advised that the refund wasn't submitted until 10/26/2018 three days after the deal was cancelled and was supposed to have been put thru is this how you want dealers to represent your image? i don't think so and by the way we went to another dealer that was so courteous and willing to help that we bought the suv that they wanted with no problem and with great respect for the dealership and its staff {nessenger 112 chevrolet} i would hope you will read this and do something to try and help me with this thank you
multiple quality problems. currently cracked dash.
I own a 2013 Chevrolet Avalanche Black Diamond LTZ. which I purchased in October 2015 from Edwards Chevrolet in Birmingham AL I have had numerous problems with this vehicle including broken door handles, electrical problems, DRL problems and now a dash that is broken in three places and is falling apart. Edwards quoted me $796.59 to replace dash which I feel should be replaced free of charge since it is obviously a factory defect. I have owned GM vehicles since 1966 but if this issue is not resolved to my satisfaction, I will not be buying anymore in the future.
