Hotel Reservation
I attended a wedding in Michigan in August. On May 19, I went online to book a room at Lake Country Inn, New Buffalo MI. Having been burned in the past by third party vendors, I searched for the that hotel's url. Unfortunately, that led me to mistakenly book at a hotel with the same name in British Columbia. I discovered my mistake within the hour, and called the hotel to explain my mistake, and cancel the reservation. No problem, they said, they had a 48 hour cancelation window. But when they looked up my reservation, they informed me that I had booked through Getaroom - which was a big surprise to me. The hotel said I would have to call Getaroom, who informed me that "the hotel" had a no refund policy, which was a flat out lie. I an age of customer service, this kind of behaviour is unbelievable. It is amazing to me how good Getaroom is at hiding the fact that you are not on the hotel site, and how happy they are to steal your money.
Desired outcome: A refund would be nice
Charged twice by Get A Room and Hotel
Horrible experience. Never use Get A Room. They rip you off when cancelling a reservation even if done immediately after setting up the reservation. The app showed me available days that was incorrect as I found out when I called the hotel directly after having Get A Room charge me for a canceled stay. I setup new reservations with the hotel front desk but was still charged by Get A Room and then I received a bill at check out time from the hotel. So I was charged twice for my stay even when canceled with Get A Room. You need to watch you bank statement for the redickulas pending and then charge entries. Calling Get A Room was a royal pain, it took 3 calls to get customer service rep to help, got hung up on twice.
Desired outcome: Get A Room should of never charged me for any reservation since I canceled the one I made via the online app.

Misleading hotel information

This company is a total scam. I needed to book a room for one night at a hotel for golf that I have stayed many times in the past. I went online and the site that I was lead to believe was the actual hotel site, I eventually found out was not it was this scam company getaroom.com. I booked a room and when I got my email conformation, it said I booked two nights. I immediately called their customer service number within two minutes of receiving the email. When speaking to the representative,(he is still making me think that I am speaking directly to the hotel) he informs me that the “Hotel Policy” is no changes and no cancellations. I informed him that I have stayed at this hotel many times and their policy as is the rule in PA, is no penalty if canceled within 24 hours of arrival. (my arrival date was still three weeks away) when I asked to speak to a supervisor, he refused. It was now that I realized I was not speaking to the hotel directly. I hung up the phone and called my credit card company to dispute the charge. Remind you this is all being done within 15 minutes of original booking. I then called the hotel directly to book my room. Cost directly from the hotel for one night, $243.41. Cost charged by this site, $719.39 which included a bogus “Tax Recovery & Service Fees” of $200.63. I figured once I disputed the charges with my credit card company, all would be done. The arrogance of this company, they actually responded and provided bogus information to my credit card company again explaining that “The Hotel Policy was no cancellations” (this company actually has an entire “Charge Back Team”) I have now provided actual documentation back to my credit card company and my attorney, this includes the false statement that GETAROOM.com provided regarding “The Hotel Cancellation Policy” the actual Hotel Cancellation policy stating I had up to 24 hours prior to arrival to cancel without penalty and time stamped emails and cell phone statements showing I tried to change my reservation two minutes after receiving the email conformation. People need to know how bad it is to do business with this company! We must post these reviews on all social media and travel sites. Even local radio and TV stations that have segments on companies and their unfair practices. Better Business Bureaus etc. GETAROOM.COM / CCI*HOTEL RES bad to the bone
Days Inn Motel Room fee REF #[protected]
We stayed at the Days Inn, Volunteer Parkway, Bristol, Tenn. Check in Sep 23, 2022. Check out Sep 25, 2022. When I reviewed my credit card statement just now I noted that I was charged $113.92 for "Tax recovery charges & service fees". I couldn't believe that! How ridiculous! The room for a night was $132.92. That was the final straw for me. My husband and I were already upset that the room had some sort of insect infestation where there were gnats alive and dead everywhere. The bathtub was dirty, the shower curtain was disgusting and the commode rocked when you sat on it, the bathtub spigot was loose and you had to hold it to work the shower. The floor was dirty from all of the dead insects on it. And we were not told about the 50 motorcyclists that were staying there keeping us up at night from all of the noise and we had to fight for a parking space. This is a second rate motel and we won't be staying there and won't be recommending it to anyone. So to pay $379.90 for a two night stay is ridiculous.
Desired outcome: I would appreciate a refund of some money. Please contact me as soon as possible with your decision.
Reservation misrepresentation
Thursday September 22. 2022 I was online to make a reservation at the Guest Lodge Gainesville, GA for Thursday September 29, 2022.
I logged on to the website of the establishment and brought up the ad for a double room.
The information given was "Best Value" and "Today's Low Rate" $158.
There was no mention of a "Tax Recovery Charge" of $95.78
This brought the total to $253.28
Once the total was revealed, attempt to cancel the was immediately.
The Cancellation Policy
Each room in this reservation is refundable for a limited time: Cancellations before 09/22/2022, 01:00 AM (America/New York) are fully refundable.
Bookings cancelled after 09/22/2022, 01:00 AM (America/New York) are subject to a fee of 177.97 USD.
The cancellation deadline for full refund was eighteen (18) hours before the reservation was made. A complete scam.
The boiler room style "Customer Support" resembled a carnival three-card monte operation.
The cost of the cancellation was $177.97 and a change of reservation was not allowed except with another $253.38 charge.
Desired outcome: I would like the Guest Lodge Gainesville, GA to provide a list and others who have been victims of these despicable subversive tactics to facilitate a Class Action Lawsuit to expose all involved in this entrprise.

Scam Alert. scam Alert. Stay away from this website and everyone associated with them.
They charged a $200 fee (not disclosed) on top of room rate.
They overcharge for hotel room and even though their policy states if a lower room rate is available they will match, LIES LIES and more Lies. They are a scam company. Better to go directly to the Hotel website, or even Hotels.com rather than this company

Non-refundable cancellation fee
My wife book a room through Get A Room and tried to cancel, as my scheduled change suddenly and I could not be available for one of two nights she had book through Get A room as the Hilton in Long island.
The site, as it presented itself, appeared to allow he rot cancel without penalty, so she canceled. Cancellation Number: C3730328362
Then she was told because she cancelled she could not use either night and had to book a new reservation and pay for the two cancelled nights.
The Get A Room customer service was not helpful, and confusing. Part of the confused explanation caused my wife to cancel. Now we have a $687.70 bill to pay and no serve to show for it. The way it was done was deceptive.
Desired outcome: Would like to have a refund of the $687.70 paid for nothing and added aggravation on top of the poor and deceptive service.
Charged for a reservation that I never had
My wife called to make a reservation with Sonesta Suites. Unknown to her, she was routed to a 3rd party, GETAROOM.COM (AKA CCI HOTEL RESERVATIONS). She booked a room, but never received confirmation because GETAROOM.COM/CCI HOTEL RESERVATIONS entered her email information incorrectly. She called the same number back to cancel the reservation, but they had no record of a reservation (guess it was routed to another 3rd party?). She couldn't provide a confirmation number because she never received one due to GETAROOM.COM/CCI HOTEL RESERVATIONS entering her information incorrectly. She became concerned about the legitimacy of her initial reservation and looked up the number for the front desk of the hotel. She called the property directly, and they had no record of a reservation thru CCI/GetARoom. She forgot about the matter until we received the charge thru CCI for $1663.37.
This company is horrible. They have received 100s of complaints for the same practice, yet they refuse to refund our money. We didn't stay there, and the property has NO RECORD of a reservation, or of any payment thru CCI/GETAROOM. $1663.37 is a LOT of money for a product/service we didn't use. We went above and beyond to ensure we didn't have a reservation, which was verified by the property. If we called the property DIRECTLY and were told there was no reservation, how can these thieves not refund our money?
Desired outcome: Full refund of $1663.37.

This Company is a scam. Room was supposed to be $120 for 2 nights plus tax. When billed they Charged another $78 for tax making it $206 total.
Then I arrived at Hotel and entered my room. it was trashed. Angry worker quit and messed up the room rather than clean it. Pooped in the toilet and wiped butt with pillow case. I have pics.
Hotel did a complete refund on their part and get a room is keeping all the money. They said they would refund but never do. Stringing me along until dispute date expires. Stay away. Saying I needed to cancel 24 in advance. I never knew Hotel could not provide a room until I got there. Again. Complete scam even if you get a room they ad a illegal tax of $78.00

Stay away from these frauds. Got screwed by a +$200 dollars extra on my booking. I cancelled my booking within the first 24 hours of reservating it, once I realised. It's been weeks and still no refund or any communication after trying to contact customer service. To which I have not received a reply. Out of pocket +$700 dollars. Totally daylight robbery!

Web and phone make you think you’re speaking to the real hotel
On 8/14/2022 I booked 2 rooms with the Holiday Inn Express Austin airport … or at least who I was led to believe was this hotel, only to find I had been scammed by Getaroom.com! We had been trying to get home for 2 days due to flight delays and cancellations. The way they answered the phone made us think we were talking to the legit hotel. They quoted the room rate at $148 but the total came out to $246. I was told the $98 was “Tax Recovery Charges”. The woman was extremely hard to understand on the phone and our group was so tired by this time we didn’t feel we had a choice. When we checked out and asked for a receipt was when the hotel cashier told us we had booked through Priceline and she could only give us a receipt for what the hotel rate would have been which was $165 total. She said this happens all the time. From reading other reviews I see this is a really big issue with this place.

Hi I have booked a three night stay on the 24th of June 2022 at the Sebel Viaduct habour Auckland New Zealand. When I relised the payment came out in American dollars I cancelled it straight away. I have received a cancellation number on the 26th of June and thought that was done but when I received the next months bank statements I saw the the payment has been taking out and since then I have had no contact on what is going on.
Desired outcome: Refund if not I would be happy to reinstate the reservation
Hotel room in Honolulu
I booked a room through GetARoom on or about 06/08/2022 at Hilton Hawaiin Village. I called the hotel yesterday to confirm and they informed me that GetARoom had CANCELLED my room for no reason and no warning. Luckily, the hotel had a room available. I can't imagine what would have happened. And the price of the room was about $1000 more than the price I got at getaroom. I don't have a clue as to why they cancelled my room on 06/10/2022 but I would definitely stay away from them and booking.com as I think they are owned by the same people.

I booked a trip thru United Airlines that uses this site to reserve hotel room, the Norwood Inn Eagan MN was a dump, it is used as a transit and the rooms are filthy, carpet, walls dirty and have gang member symbols spray painted on walls,, Prostitutes' walking in the back way let in by men.. broken down cars in lot,, bed frame broke, dresser broke.. we walk out ! and went somewhere else..Was told to contact Getaroom.com to get our money back.. but no one answers at customer service number wont let you talk to an agent.. very bad company very upset

Room booking
I called a phone number which I took from a website that said Hampton Inn. The man I talked to did not identify himself as working for a 3rd party. I asked for a conference rate and was told they were all sold out and the only room left was a king studio. I paid for it. If I'd known they were a 3rd party I would not have booked with them. In addition, the room they sold me wasn't available when I got to my destination.

On August 15, 2022, I reserved a hotel room online on what I thought was Home2Suites by Hilton in Anaheim, CA. Less than 30 minutes later, I cancelled my reservation. My credit card was charged the entire cost of the stay. I called customer service to ask why and they are telling me that the reservation was non-refundable. Not only did they spoof the hotel website, I was not notified that reservation was non-refundable until after I was charged for it. I have reported a dispute to my credit card as well as the Better Business Bureau and my local TV station consumer advocate.

They finally agreed and I got my refund today. I will NEVER do business with them and I will make sure I am dealing with the hotel directly on any future reservations. I will also advise anyone I know that this can happen if you are not diligent when using Google to find websites.

Rip off alert!
Do not use this company, they will rip you off, I booked a room for a few nights at a $220/night charge and they charged me a $326 fee. That is a rip off! They would not allow me to cancel the reservation either, I disputed the charge with my credit card company and lost the dispute. Don't get ripped off, don't use this company! They have over 1700 complaints listed on the better business bureau!
