Hotel reservation
On August 15, 2022, I reserved a hotel room online on what I thought was Home2Suites by Hilton in Anaheim, CA. Less than 30 minutes later, I cancelled my reservation. My credit card was charged the entire cost of the stay. I called customer service to ask why and they are telling me that the reservation was non-refundable. Not only did they spoof the hotel website, I was not notified that reservation was non-refundable until after I was charged for it. I have reported a dispute to my credit card as well as the Better Business Bureau and my local TV station consumer advocate.

I booked a reservation at what I thought was Home2 Suites by Hilton in Anaheim on the hotel website. This company spoofed the website. I cancelled my reservation about 15 minutes after I made. They are charging me for the entire stay saying that the reservation is non-refundable. When I booked, there was no notice that this was a 3rd party site and that the rate was non-refundable. I called to request a refund and they just kept stating the no refund policy. I have disputed the charge on my credit card, reported them to the Better Business Bureau and even contacted my local TV station consumer advocate. This is a complete bait and switch.
I called the customer service line at Getaroom several times to request a refund after I was able to confirm the reservation was indeed refundable from the hotel chain. They finally agreed and I got my refund today. I will NEVER do business with them and I will make sure I am dealing with the hotel directly on any future reservations. I will also advise anyone I know that this can happen if you are not diligent when using Google to find websites.

This company is a total scam. I needed to book a room for one night at a hotel for golf that I have stayed many times in the past. I went online and the site that I was lead to believe was the actual hotel site, I eventually found out was not it was this scam company getaroom.com. I booked a room and when I got my email conformation, it said I booked two nights. I immediately called their customer service number within two minutes of receiving the email. When speaking to the representative,(he is still making me think that I am speaking directly to the hotel) he informs me that the “Hotel Policy” is no changes and no cancellations. I informed him that I have stayed at this hotel many times and their policy as is the rule in PA, is no penalty if canceled within 24 hours of arrival. (my arrival date was still three weeks away) when I asked to speak to a supervisor, he refused. It was now that I realized I was not speaking to the hotel directly. I hung up the phone and called my credit card company to dispute the charge. Remind you this is all being done within 15 minutes of original booking. I then called the hotel directly to book my room. Cost directly from the hotel for one night, $243.41. Cost charged by this site, $719.39 which included a bogus “Tax Recovery & Service Fees” of $200.63. I figured once I disputed the charges with my credit card company, all would be done. The arrogance of this company, they actually responded and provided bogus information to my credit card company again explaining that “The Hotel Policy was no cancellations” (this company actually has an entire “Charge Back Team”) I have now provided actual documentation back to my credit card company and my attorney, this includes the false statement that GETAROOM.com provided regarding “The Hotel Cancellation Policy” the actual Hotel Cancellation policy stating I had up to 24 hours prior to arrival to cancel without penalty and time stamped emails and cell phone statements showing I tried to change my reservation two minutes after receiving the email conformation. People need to know how bad it is to do business with this company! We must post these reviews on all social media and travel sites. Even local radio and TV stations that have segments on companies and their unfair practices. Better Business Bureaus etc. GETAROOM.COM / CCI*HOTEL RES bad to the bone

Rip off alert!
Do not use this company, they will rip you off, I booked a room for a few nights at a $220/night charge and they charged me a $326 fee. That is a rip off! They would not allow me to cancel the reservation either, I disputed the charge with my credit card company and lost the dispute. Don't get ripped off, don't use this company! They have over 1700 complaints listed on the better business bureau!

On 11/29/21, after I made and immediately cancelled a reservation for my daughter Madeline Every (#R2974021895) on a Getaroom website which claimed to be the Sonesta Simply Suites in Nanuet, NY, but which was not, Getaroom has refused to refund the charge of $583.78. I have e-mailed the Getaroom customer service address more than 10 times, and waited for 7 months following their January 2022 claim of needing 90 days to "investigate" my claim. Getaroom cannot be a legitimate company with this sort of egregious customer service.
I am requesting an immediate full refund of $583.78. Thank you.

We booked a hotel reservation on Sun, Aug 7, 2022 at 9:52 PM, check-in on August 17. This was paid in full in the amount of $1,024.63. On Mon, Aug 8, 2022 at 8:33 AM, the next morning less than 12 hours later, plans had changed and I called this company to cancel the reservation.
After runaround I was transferred, and the next agent said that there are no refunds. We could cancel, but would lose the entire price of $1,024.63. The charge has not even settled on the credit card yet, which I assume they do so that chargeback cannot be initiated, since the refund policy is unacceptable. I need a refund. No one can afford to lose that much money.

They did NOT tell me that the amount was only an estimate. Ripoff!
The photo of the Room I booked showed large open windows, great bathroom, and a bedroom with a window. It also said ocean view on top floor.
We got none of the above. We got a 4th floor room with smaller windows, tiny bathroom with no vents, a windowless bedroom, no AC from the HVAC system, and no secure wifi, which Hilton says is included.

This is in reference to Getaroom.com Case #[protected] and Hotel Confirmation #R3413148820 on June 18, 2022.
On Tuesday May 17, 2022, I made an on-line reservation with whom I thought was Springhill Suites by Marriott in Brentwood, MO. Turns out reservation was made with getaroom.com. After reservation was made, my credit card was immediately charged $407.78.
On Saturday June 18, 2022, I planned to travel to St. Louis for a wedding and stay at Springhill Suites by Marriott in Brentwood, MO that evening. Unfortunately, the wedding I had planned to attend was canceled on the morning of June 18, 2022 and I did not need to travel to St. Louis to attend wedding. I immediately informed getaroom.com Customer Service and Getaroom.Com Customer Service canceled my reservation with Springhill Suites by Marriott Brentwood MO for the evening of June 18, 2022.
Since the cancellation of the wedding and the cancellation of the hotel room were beyond my control, I requested refund from both Getaroom.com Customer Service and Springhill Suites in Brentwood, MO. Springhill Suites stated they could not give me refund since Getaroom.com charged my credit card. Getaroom.com stated they would not give me refund until refund was approved by Springhill Suites by Marriott in Brentwood, MO.
On Wednesday August 4, 2022, Springhill Suites by Marriott in Brentwood, Mo sent email to Getaroom.com Customer Service, approving Getaroom.com to give me refund. See email below from Mary Tripodi sent to [protected]@getaroom.com.

Since the August 4, 2022 email from Springhill Suites Brentwood, MO to Getaroom.com Customer Service, I have not received any response from Getaroom.com Customer Service. I called Getaroom.com Customer Service and was told by Getaroom.com customer service person (Kajaah), it would take two business days to get my refund. It has been over two business days now since Springhill Suites Brentwood, MO approved my refund and sent the email to Getaroom.com Customer Service and I still have not been credited by Getaroom.com for my $407.78 refund.
What is the barrier to getting this refund? When can I expect my refund? I emailed Springhill Suites Brentwood, MO for approval for the refund and Springhill Suites approved the refund. In Springhill Suites Brentwood, MO email, it is stated that once Getaroom.com refunds me, Springhill Suites Brentwood, MO will refund Getaroom.Com Mastercard account.
Please elevate this issue to someone who has authority to take action and expedite my refund immediately.

Refund that Hotel Authorized has not been given
On Sunday, July 17, I inadvertently booked a room for Hampton Inn, Marysville, OH for Monday July 18, reservation #R3568581805 when I thought I was booking for Hampton Inn, Marysville, CA. On July 18, I realized my mistake and called the #800 number and was told since it was the same day, a refund wasn't possible so I asked for the phone number to the Hampton Inn, Marysville, OH and was given [protected]. I spoke to the Assistant Manager, Terri Marlowe and explained what happened and she said she had no problem refunding my card but had no payment information and to call back to the #800. I called back and was then told a request needed to be made in writing to [protected]@getaroom.com. Terri Marlow sent an email that day saying she agreed to the cancellation without penalty and will not charge the VCC provided on the reservation. My credit card still has not been credited. I was able to speak to a rep from customer service and while he had me on hold to create a case, I was disconnected.
Desired outcome: I want the credit card I used to be credited for the amount charged $170.89.

I made a reservation to plainfield ct and somehow the reservation went through to Plainfield Illinois. When I pulled up my e-mail for my confirmation number I noticed that the stay was booked for Plainfield Illinois. I immediatly called back to cancel and was met with nothing but opposition. Fraudulent hotel booking
I inadvertently booked a last minute room at a Hilton in Athens, GA through Getaroom while running through the Atlanta airport with a flight cancelation. The link looked like the Hilton site and I paid for two $168 rooms. I quickly got the email confirmation, for $476! I immediately recognized that I had been on a scam look alike website and tried to cancel but there's no live person available to talk to. I tried to cancel through Hilton but they wouldn't help me as I booked through a third party. After yet another flight delay I never made it to Athens, couldn't cancel the rooms, and my amex was hit for the $476, with no resolution to date. Getaroom has countless onine negative reviews and a D rating at the Better Business Bureau. SLOW DOWN WHEN BOOKING AND STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAM WEBSITE. There is no upside to using their services.

Blind reservation program
I booked a reservation on Hampton Inn's webpage for June 25, 2022. On The 23rd I had to cancel the reservation so contacted the hotel directly to cancel the reservation. I was not told that the reservation was made through "Get-A-Room" service therefore had to call them. The Hampton Inn website did not give this information either. I was billed $200 for the night although I made a good faith effort to cancel in a timely manner.
I contacted American Express to dispute the charge but it was denied because "Get-A-Room" said I never contacted them. They actually accused me of trying to circumvent the cancellation program and lying to American Express.
I have contacted the "Get-A-Room" 800 number but all you can do is reserve a room, can't talk to anyone.

Unclear cancellation policy, inflated extra charges.
The cancellation policy is that you must cancel on the day that you make the reservation or you are screwed. This was NOT clear when booking. I didn't receive the confirmation email with the policy on it until the day AFTER I booked which was already too late to cancel!
On top of that, they charged me almost $100.00 in fees. I thought I was making my reservation through the H Hotel but when I called to cancel due to a family emergency they said I had to call this company. The customer service agent I spoke with was apathetic. I am already dealing with a heartbreaking situation and her refusal to even have a conversation with me about this or presenting me any other options was too much. I admit, I wasn't very nice after that. I have never had such a horrible experience with a company before.

Lack of communication; heartless for refund with life situations
I cancelled on 7/17/2022at hotel I booked after a death in the family. I would not be able to keep my reservation for 7/20/22-7/22/22 due to the death. Cancelled online and called the hotel two days later and they stated it was still in the system as being reserved.
Called Getaroom to explain and was told it would be 48 hours. Then I explained my family situation and was told I need proof of the death. Just what is on my mind to give an official deceased notice to. Plus, the cost of such is outrageous for a hotel company.
I was utterly upset that there was no understanding from the rep I spoke with in this situation. I understand there is a policy, but nobody can predict such events. I couldn't believe in this time of grief providing a death note to them of all people and having to pay for it was the only way out...I was disgusted and appalled.

I am taking a workshop in Wall, SD. Five motels are listed as places with rates for us. I googled the one I knew about. I went through about 7 sites which ID themselves as Priceline - Booking.com - etc. I found one that was, what I thought, Wynham site. I filled out the form, gave my credit card, and made the reservation. I get an email with the phone number of the motel and I called to check and see if I could get on the main floor. She explained that it was made through a third party reservation service. I then went down in my email and found a charge of $96.48 for taxes and resort fees and other things.
I found a number for CCI - which is part of getaroom.com and asked for my money back because of the outrageous fees. I was told that was not possible it was a prepaid room and if I cancelled I still had to pay $300.46. I explained that the form I filled out said Travelodge Wynham at the top and nothing about CCI or Getaroom.com (which they claim are priceline). So, I called my credit card to protest and was informed it was too late and I couldn't. If I didn't use the room I could sue for failure to fulfill the contract.
This is so wrong. They need to be upfront with everything and not hide it till the last minute.

Canceled entire reservation when missing checkin
I made a prepaid reservation for July 13-15. Showed up July 14 and was told the reservation was cancelled as we were considered no-shows. My assumption was that we had paid for two nights, the room was guaranteed for two nights, why would we not have the room for the second night even if we didn't use it the first night. They cancelled our reservation, refused to give us the room we paid for, and refused a refund of the second night.
When pressed on this, the motel manager, Michelle, said this is their policy, and that my issue is with GetARoom. GetARoom has not budged on this issue. Somebody took money for a service not provided and needs to refund it.
The cancellation policy states that there is no refund for no-shows or early checkout. I would not consider showing up late to be the same as a no-show.

Unfortunately, I was not able to keep the reservations due to illness. I called to inform the hotel and then called Get A Room.com. they both informed me that I was not entitled to a refund.
On July 6, 2022, I e-mailed [protected]@getaroom.com per your representative with a letter of explanation as well as my Emergency Room documents which indicates proof of illness. Being a two-time Cancer survivor the doctors were concerned about my overall health problem which is indicated on the documents that were e-mailed to Gat A Room.com.

Here is the problem I see in many of these. They thought they were making a reservation with the company and they weren't. My form never said priceline or getaroom anyplace - at the top it was "Travelodge Wynham"
Charged my card, hotel never had my reservation
On 6/15 I used getaroom.com to reserve a hotel room while traveling on a road trip. We arrived at the hotel, our card already charged, and they had NO record of our reservation, said they have no affiliation with the company, and were sold out. The "customer service" line is a joke. I've sat on hold many times for them to tell me that Embassy Suites won't answer the line, so they can't verify this information, and to call back. They charged me $350. I'm not even sure how I ended up on their site in the first place, but this is awful.
