Last year November I was signed for gym company but I never went to gym as they forcefully applied for me the promoters and now they say I should pay R1256 for the cancellation and they say there Is no other way but to pay the money b4 the end of January otherwise they will debit it please help I don't have This kind of money and I'm still a student.

transferring of gym membership
When joining "gym company" (Musgrave branch) I was told that I can transfer my membership when I no longer needed it. So around June/July this year (2019) I initiated a transfer which has not been successful till date! Towards the end of August I went to the gym to query about my transfer, my salesman told me a whole lot of stories that had absolutely nothing to do with me. He had told me that the systems had changed, things are not the same anymore, business is low, come back some other time, etc etc. With my busy schedule, I'd make time to go to the gym or try to contact my salesman via phone because he never kept me updated. His exact words "try and call me time to time for an update, things are hectic I tend to forget about you"
I then decided that he transfers my issue to the manager, initially he gave me stories of why I shouldn't talk to the manager and that it was pointless. Finally after our debate, he transferred me to the manager and I had to explain myself to him. Very promising, the manager took my details, he gave me his and promised to work on my issue and to get back to me a day or two later. Disappointingly, he never got back to me, so after a week (around end of August/ or beginning of September) I decided to try and contact him, only to find out that he cannot assist me at the time I called and asked me to try and call him the next day!
Because of my busy life (especially this year) I had not gotten the time to follow up my issue and gym company had remained silence as well. The last time I spoke to them was when I called the manager! Hectic ness got a bit better on my side hence I was able to visit the gym now and then and this was mid November. I got the chance to talk to the manager after several visits and not getting hold of him. He had promised me that December would be my last debit order from the gym, he'll keep me posted if he gets someone to take over my membership (he never got back to me though till date) and he had asked me to constantly remind him about my issue.
I saw him three times at the gym (greeted him) after his last promise so that for me is a reminder, I also left about two messages on his phone(sadly he had not gotten back to me).
I really must say that I'm very disappointed and angry with the company. I used to promote this gym to people that I know, I've stopped doing that and have nothing good to say about it anymore!
I just wonder if the December debit order was the last one for real after so much disappointment!

Gym Company continues to debit my account months after my policy of two years expired in June 2019. This happens despite me asking that the policy be cancelled on multiple occasions. They just continue to take money from my account for a service which is not being used, and which I have specifically asked be cancelled.

I have a huge issue with the Gym Company in Randburg. I had a three year contract with them and it expired in August/September and no one bothered to call me and find out if I want to renew my contract or not. Also no one called to tell me to come and cancel the contract in person. Now they have continued to deduct money from my account and now the other month they didn't get. Now they are telling me that I owe them money.
was I not supposed to be called and told what the procedure is? Was I not supposed to be get a courtesy call? I am very disappointed and these people owe me money and not the other way around.

I've been get unathorized debits from this gym I've tried speaking to them about this but it seems like they don't take anybody who files in a complain seriously, I was told by their receptionist that their mangaer Kyle would get back to me but never did, what I don't get is they debit my account R399 and R99 of which I don't know for what because I'm not a member of their gym..I've called them countless of times so that they sort out this but it seems like their manager has a lot in his hands or he is well aware of what's going on that's why he hasn't responded up until today

I signed up a contract for my Son with Muscle fitness who was sold or closed down last year before his contractual period was over. With this changes in ownership their accounts system went a little skew and therefore the debit order did not go off my account.
No one contacted me about this.
In March 2019 when the contract was expiring I called in and told them to please cancel the contract. I was then told that I was in arrears and needed to pay R1196.
I told them that I did not have that money but will be prepared to carry on the debit order until the amount was paid back. In the meantime to cancel the contract.the lady I spoke to at the time said no problem.
I tried to contact the gym company again asking why is my account being debited as this amount should be paid up. I was told that my arrears is now R2500.
So I asked why. as my account was debited monthly and the contract was cancelled.
Firstly the contract was not canceled by their assistant. And they cannot cancel until I pay the arrears. How am I supposed to pay for someone else's mistakes if they keep deducting money from my account.
I have been trying to negotiate with them but I am not getting anywhere.
Is this how we make money in this day and age. By cheating people.
I have been emailing, watts app and I keep getting no help.

I have signed up two contracts one for myself and one for my girlfriend.
i had recently canceled the contracts with Steve the manager at Flora centre.
we had agreed to pay 900.00 rand for each account. i Had made a payment of 1800.00 .two weeks later one of the employees calls me and tells me only one has been approved and there is an additional fee of 525.00.
today they have debited my account of 299.00 rand.
i then asked the lady that told me about the additional charges to check my outstanding balance, she then tells me that i now owe 625.00 rand .
she also told me that they will freeze my account so i can pay the outstanding amount. which they did not do . she told me i had to sign papers to freeze it which she did not inform me of .
i am extremely frustrated with this whole regard .

I had a lot complications after I made a transfer from Doorfontein to Gandhi Square. I was double debited because my cancellation hadn't been finalised from Doorfontein. I paid for the areas ... yes i didn't settle it as yet . So no here's the bizzare part ... i can't go to the gym untill i atleast pay half of the amount while on the other side I'm paying for the other months . Is this civil though?

I sent an e-mail on 14/06/2019 to the accounts department and the manager regarding an account which was handed over to them by Carlton Gym, but have not had any feedback till date. double debit on incorrect day; refund for failed x2 debit orders
I want my account to be credited for x2 failed debit orders due to GYM Company Bara's incompetence. I had requested to change my debit order date as I have changed jobs and my payday now falls on the last day of the month instead of the 25th of the month.
In the month of May the debit failed and I was contacted by Lekeleli from the Bara Gym who I arranged with for my debit order to be changed to the last day of the month, which he/she stated that is was no problem and confirmed that I will be making an EFT payment for the arrears amount and the amount due for June would be debited as per normal from my bank account. On the 25th June 2019, two amounts went off my bank account for R99.00 and R199.00 which in turn failed to go through as there were insufficient funds in my account.
I contacted Lekeleli, enquiring about the debit order submitted early and why were there x2 amounts submitted where as we agreed I would pay the arrears amount via EFT and they would debit the June premium? I was advised by this individual they submitted the amounts to recoup my arrears amount she/he tried to revert from the terms of the arrangement that we had set in place to get the account paid.
I advised the individual that I would pay the amount in arrears and premium due for June via EFT and send proof of payment which I did on the 28-06-2019. I had requested that the failed debit order amounts be refunded as I had made the necessary arrangements to ensure I would not find myself in a position being billed by my bank for failed debit order returns and I also sent them my bank statement reflecting the x2 R150.00 charges for their incompetence.
