I am making a complaint about a canned product.
I bought a few cans of HEB French style green beans. I used one can and was surprised at large part of the bean stalk. I did not see it until I put it in my mouth. It was so long it poked the back of my throat. I saved it and the can and the stalk. The upc number on the can is 0 [protected] 7. Your can 100% satisfication so I am not happy and I worry about the other cans I bought. Anyway just a concern.
meat
Purchased 80/20 ground beef HEB brand yesterday (October 1, 2018) at HEB on Highway 6 and Austin/Dulles Ave. It looked fresh and newly packaged so I picked it from all the others.
Today is October 2, 2018. I opened it tonight to cook. It smelled very sour and brown rotting meat was covered with pink meat!
I was so disgusted and called the store. Spoke with the manager (Sierra). So I guess I'm taking a trip to the store tomorrow to get my money back. I asked if she wanted me to bring the meat so she could see (I took pictures anyway. See attached.) She said "oh yeah you can bring it in." What I found strange was the lack of shock or disbelief, and explanation. Seems as though this is a regular occurrence and they're used to these calls.
Some people will explain that it's "oxidation". I call BS on that theory. Oxidation would mean it's exposed. This brown rotting parts of the meat are concealed.
Shame on the butchers and workers in the meat department. That's just gross.
would not sell me cold products off the shelf
To whom it may concern. On 9/25/2018 I went to HEB to purchase cold products for my husband Day & Night Time NyQuil serve cold, Mucinex Day time & Night time severe cold, for myself due to high blood pressure Coricidin HBP cough syrup plus a few groceries. Went to check out, the cashier refused to sell me the cold products, said it was a Texas law. I had her call the manager, very young man came to the register looked at the register and said the same thing, can't sale you the products it's a Txs law. I had witness to testify an asked to provided proof of this law, he argued with me, so I left and took my business elsewhere. Walgreens didn't have an issue selling me all the products I needed to purchase. I have my Walgreens receipt and a photo of all the products I tried to purchase at HEB that I was denied. Per the staff at Walgreens they never heard of that law. Products you can't buy more than one are kept behind the pharmacy counter.
ferrex 150/ 100 capsules for polysaccharide complex for anemics
Dear heb representative(s),
I am having recent problems with your pharmacy over this medicine, which costs about $27.99. I placed an order at the heb bellmead, tx. I-35 on monday or tuesday, 9-24-18 or 9-25-18, as of today, still no prescription. It is over the counter, but however, you have to purchase at the pharmacy dept. I called the heb wooded acres pharmacy and spoke with a lady, but did not get her name & she states they no longer sell it. My question is do they are do they not sell anymore. There was a gentleman at the heb pharmacy on south valley mills, states they did not have in stock. Everytime, I call for this prescription, I get an answer of no, but the clerk states they can order it. A supervisor at the heb store name david, states he could not hear me, put me on hold and never returned. He was at the wooded acres office. Thank you for listening. If any questions please feel free to call me at [protected], anytime, ask for barbara richardson. Thank you for the opportunity to speak.
customer/employee service
Hello,
I am here to file a formal complaint about an incident I witnessed at the HEB on 651 S. Walnut. There was a store employee by the name of Lonnie I believe, and a manager named Chris, I believe. The way these 2 were talking to a poor new girl (name unknown) was absolutely horrendous. You don't talk to someone or belittle them like that. Ever.
unethical behavior
I am an avid HEB Shopper and have been for years. Recently I moved to Eagle Pass, TX and was a bit concerned that the people that are hired to work there do not speak English, some not at all, some very broken English.
I am a Hispanic female, I read and write Spanish, but English is my primary language and Spanish is my secondary language. When I asked a worker there a question in English, they had to get someone to translate for them. Are we not in the United States. Although Eagle Pass is a border town, we are still in the United States, for HEB to hire Spanish speaking people only is insane.
And it can't be because there are not enough applicants that they hire anyone, because there are plenty of applicants...
I've been let down, as a active duty Hispanic female, I feel like we are regressing sometimes, instead of progressing. I am not trying to discriminate, however, English is the primary language and Spanish is secondary. To know both languages is great, and that is what should be considered in the hiring processing. It would be more beneficial to HEB and any other store to hire bi-lingual personnel, not soley speaking Spanish personnel.
pharmacy service.
Yesterday A prescription was called into my local Walmart Pharmacy for my ill 9 year old daughter. Unfortunately they did not have the RX in stock. The pharmacy tech was wonderful called around to other pharmacies because my daughter really needed her meds. Yesterday. She even gave me the numbers needed for my rx discount plan on file and sent the rx over to Floresville heb for pick up. This is where the nightmare begins. I checked out at the store was in went to HEB to pick up meds. It was locked down asked the pharmacist Tiffany if she could transfer the rx somewhere else so i could pick up my daughters meds tonight walmart had just called her. She says no we close at 8 the time was 8 minutes after 8. Pretty crappy to leave a sick kid in need. Told her she should have mentioned that when walmart called. Returned to pick up med at 8 am same awful Pharmacist gave discount info. Was then lied to told that 94 dollars regular retail price BTW was price with the discount. Looked up med on my discount formulary med should have been only 22. It is Now 1030 am my dr off. Has just called to let us know they have called in a different antibiotic to our Walmart pharmacy. Piss Poor Customer Service Tiffany should had never accepted the RX transfer to begin with since she knew she was closing she was told it was needed yesterday she needlessly suffered a 9 year old kid and then tried to price gouge her parent s in retaliation for being pissed about it. She has forever lost our business we won't even use the grocery sections at the Floresville HEB anymore. Been a loyal HEB customer 30 years but now Im done. Her store manager did nothing this will likely do nothing as customer service at HEB has apparently become a thing of the past. Damn shame.
caution sign
Sitting in car after checking out of store #380. I slipped on the floor, twisted my knee, landing hard on my rear end while turning into the beginning of the produce aisle closest to the outer left wall. No caution sign visable until I was about to turn right and was at the very end of the left wall aisle, in the corner. I am 49 next month, this is my very first complaint because I am in pain & very upset. Told unhelpful cashier. Receipt 10243133091118005200380.
store pickup online
I tried using the curbside HEB pick up online but when I got to the payment part they did not accept the EBT card. I think that's discrimination. I never shop at HEB even though I know they have better quality items because I don't know the store and takes me hours to find The things I need. I decided to give the pickup curbside a try. I was so disappointed after all the time spent filling up my cart worth 150 dollars. So water of time ND so frustrated. Never will be shopping there again.
ranch dip
I had just bought the ranch dip in the dairy section. We opened it about 30 mins later. I stopped my son immediately upon noticing that the ranch dip had mold. I checked the expiration date and it was 1 day from expiring. I was highly disappointed to say the least at the quality of things I have received from H.E.B. here lately. Just a couple weeks ago I had bought from the same location a bag of prewashed salad mix. When I opened it had several dead flies. IF I choose to shop at H.E.B again I will switch locations. But i highly doubt it.
customer service by two ignorant cashiers
At approximately 9:41 AM on 8/28/18 I went to HEB and brought two items to aisle 11 checkout where Claudia was cashiering and Gabs was bagging. I put my two items on the belt as the two continued to talk to each other. When I finally said "Hello, " Claudia glared at me when she turned to me and said "Can I help you?" I said I would like to check out as she continued to look at me. I tapped on the belt to make it move and the two "women" looked at each other and rolled their eyes and both glared at me AGAIN as if I had done something wrong. Claudia couldn't work the register so another lady came by to help her. I finished the transaction and as I was leaving, Claudia made some kind of joke which caused Gabs to turn to look at me and laugh. I stopped at the door to tell a very nice supervisor about my (very unpleasant) experience there. She said she would look into it. Please review the video on this. My receipt number is [protected] 9:41A 246/11/00014 I look forward to hearing from you. There is a Walmart across the highway where I have excellent customer service consistently. I avoid this HEB for the most part because of all the bad cashiers there. I came in today to return two bags of lentils that said ORGANIC but tasted like pesticides. You have one or two products that are better than the Walmart, but on the whole, it is not currently worth my time to shop there except to load my Netspend card. I wish this was not so. It seems that they go out and recruit these ignorant and racist Mexicans who do not understand what it means to give good customer service, and certainly will not give it to a white woman. This store falls far below customer service standards when it concerns Claudia and Gabs. Please remedy this, as I would love to be a regular customer once more.
heb customer service
Each and every single time I enter HEB (on West Ave and the I-410., San Antonio, TX 78213) there is only 1 register open with the 15 or less rigisters open, with a full parking lot (which means the store is packed). Seriously? Lines are constantly in the isles of the store. I mean, if you're not going to use all those other registers you have in the front of the store, then maybe HEB should just sell them to someone who would actually use them. I have complained to the store managers several times, but now it just pisses me off everytime I go in there and I see no registers open. (It obviously means nothing was done in regards to the many complaints that I have given them. I mean, is HEB trying to keep everyone "in" the store? Does by keeping all those registers closed make your store look busy? I just don't get it.
.
HEB "has" registers ~ Use them! ...and use them everyday; isn't that why you have them? or are the registers there just for show?
.
I have even told the manager, that if he can't handle his job, then maybe he should just resign and hand the job to someone who can actually do the job right.
.
Then they give you lame excuses such as, "We're short handed"... Really? Because that's the customers problem? Here's a solution, ... Hire people who actually want to work. I say this because when I asked someone where something was located in the store, they're playing with there phone telling me "sorry sir, I'm on break"... Real nice!
.
I honestly think eveyone in that store should be replaced... they're absolutely useless. And they all act as if their job is SO difficult... Listen people, if you're not happy with your job, there are many jobs here in San Antonio, You might not be able to play with your phones all day, but there are other jobs.
.
Do I think anything will ever happen from this email? Probably not. Issues like these seem to never get rectified unless the people on top are replaced. But, someone really needs to clean house over there.
heb beets in jar
I have heard the commercial that HEB is trying to get away from high fructose corn syrup.
Del Monte does not use high fructose corn syrup in their beets.
I like buying HEB products but do not want bad ingredients.
They taste really great but I believe that ingredient is really bad.
Beets are a sugary vegie anyway. So if your recipie needs more sugar, please use cane sugar.
Thank you
peaches in can
Got this out to feed my 3 year old this morning and this is what I got. It's obviously not expired, I find this absolutely disgusting. I've never had a problem with their fruit but now I'm second guessing. When I put it in my garbage disposal it has this awful smell to it and it's still lingering around in my house, I've tried Clorox but the smell is still there.
certegy heb’s check cashing protection company
I have been writing checks at HEB for over 40 years and have never written a bad check. Today my check was denied by HEB and was given no reason. Besides being embarrassed I was concerned I might actually have a problem with my checking account. When I returned home I checked my account and to my releif I did not have a problem with my account. Apparently the problem is with Certegy the company HEB uses and it appears I am not alone. Not sure how I will be able to "fix" this problem, but I am most unhappy with both companies.
I went to Certegy’s “Ask Certegy” web site and keyed in my declined check information. Amazing that they can decline my check in seconds at the store, but Certegy’s response on THEIR “AskCertegy declined check lookup” cannot give me any information to why my check was declined, their response was “no record found with entered details”.
Certegy was fined in 2013 for unfair trade practices. There are still many new complaints on line, if you want a written response about “your problem” this is the information they want, this is from their website:

In 2008 Certegy had an employee that sold personal data from about 8.5 million consumers to data brokers. The thief did go to prison, but I do not want to share my information with this company.
heb 2-ply toilet paper
Your new product HEB 2-Ply is a waste of toliet paper product. I have No need for this roll. Your actual roll has no way to unroll without tearing it up for actual use. I have No need for the small inner roll. I'm not taking a long road trip, not going camping in the woods, crossing the border, nor donating the inner roll of toliet paper. In the last year HEB is going backwards and your products that i valued are disappearing as well as your cashier's who are rude, some don't greet you, say thank you nor bag my groceries correctly. HEB in Austin Texas on Oltorf and Congress. I'm going to start shopping at your competitor stores. It's been an unpleasant experience this last year. I previously valued HEB and HEB products. It's sad how companies change when people start to depend on greatness and then start getting unsatisfactory products. SAD.
parking
I feel discriminated by the fact I hat you have close parking for mothers with children & not for 55 or older. I had 6 children never did I have a problem walking
But I am almost 70 & I do not have a handicap sticker. I have to walk farther so young people can park closer to the store.
Please consider installing 55 or older parking.
I see elderly every day trying to walk a longer distance that a 20 year old who can walk quite well.
The farther an elderly person has to walk the more likely they will have a fall or trip.
Pleas consider my request

unethical behavior
At your location in Monstrose, you've employed a known racist. Her name is Shanon Meyers but she prefers to go by "Gypsy." If you did not already know, that word is a racial slur against an ethnic group, the Romani people, whose roots trace back to 10th-century India. She also wears dreadlocks as a white woman, which is cultural appropriation. As a patron of this store, I am not comfortable having to deal with such a racist, awful person. The world needs fewer people like her.
I am very dissatisfied with the service at the new open heb at bellaire and bissonet st in houston, tx
I bought the crab meat from this new open HEB store last week. I found the crab meat looked mushy and spoiled when I was ready to use it last night. So I went to the store to return this morning at 7 am before I went to work. There was only one register open. I was the 2nd person in line. The manager Shelva opened another register but asked the person behind me to go to her register. I immediately asked Shelva where should I go to return the item. Shelva told me just return at the register. I was quite upset that the register worker has to get approval from the manager for return item and Shelva was away from the register. I have to wait additional 3-4 more minutes for Shelva to return to the register to do the approval. My point is Shelva should help me in the beginning when she opened the new register and/or when I asked her where could I go for return item.
So I complained this dissatisfied service to the one of the store manager (I should ask for his name). He told me that Shelva should ask me first to go to the new register she opened and was sorry about this. And I asked this store manager how could I complain to the corporate. He said there is no need to complain to the corporate because the corporate will say sorry but nothing else. Then I turned away and left but he said "ni hao" behind me. I wonder why he said "ni hao" to me even he may not know the meaning of "ni hao". It meant "how are you in Chinese". To me, it is not funny at all.
This new HEB looks grand but the higher position workers (so called manager, store manager) are not professional. I don't think I will go back to this new HEB anymore.

Hello Carol. I use these all the time. I concur that sometimes there are stalks in them. These also tend to be a little bit tougher at times than premium brands.
I assume that the thing is, the only way that one can eliminate this problem is to have (more) people standing inspecting the raw bean input to the line. Only persons at this point can insure that zero stalks get into such a natural product, and (more) persons cost more money. That raises the price and is likely part of what accounts for the higher price of the name brands. It's the same old choice we all must make in retail product purchases: price v "quality".
I mostly use the beans right out of the can (without heating them) in a salad-like recipe. I might like an expensive brand a bit more, but the price difference is not worth it to me. Of course the stalks are fully cooked (also) and are as edible, if not palatable, as the beans.
