JC Penney purchasing items at the register

On March 24 2018 at 5:25pm we approach a black lady at the jcpenny store In hyattsville Maryland at Prince George's mall.she scan our items and there was one particular item I wanted the price check. She rang it up and she was so rude and abrupt with my mother and me saying this what it says and she kept insisting .she was right with price but the price tag said it differently. We have shop with Jcpenny before and never encounter this rude behavior I was surprise and hurt by her words. She is making me and my mother feel like we are stupid. That is wrong and that is no way to treat your customers. The employee didn't even have the kindness out of her heart to even ask for the manager instead she threw the item to the side. Plus there was a coupon that we could use if you spend 25 you get 10 off and the employee was so nasty to my mother saying don't you know you could only use it twice. Don't you know you can't use it for clearance. First off we shop here before and know the rules of the coupons and jcpenny. But her way of words coming across to my mother was disappointing.i would have gotten her name but she doesn't have a name tag. That is poor dress code. I would never shop at jcpenny at Prince George mall again the employees are rude and distasteful and arrogant. They make you feel like your stupid and they only cater to you if your there skin color. JC Penney return/even exchange policy

I just would like to say that I love JCP & have been using them for a gazillion years. I have had no problems with them in the past however, when I tried to do an even exchange it was a nightmare! I ordered on March 3, 2 items (Playtex Bras - Item #FC124-9013Q & #FC124-8001Q for $14.74 with a $10 discount applied plus free shipping; Invoice #C271-66935; Cust #[protected]). When the items arrived, I realized that they were too big & needed to return them for different size. I proceeded to Ocean Co Mall (Toms River, NJ, March 16th) & went straight to the Intimate Apparel Dept figuring this would be simple. I went through racks of bras to find my size then waited on line to have sales associate tell me that she could not help me & I needed to go the the JCP.com desk upstairs. Again, even exchange. Went upstairs, waited again on line only to have that sales associate tell me that she couldn't do an even exchange because sale going on then would have been less then I paid! I still don't know what she was talking about. Ok, so she said that if I returned items & then reorder everything would work. So she returned items & reordered the same items but with a different size. Was told everything with balance out. Received my order yesterday with correct size (Item #FC124-9841Q & #FC124-9841Q; Invoice #C276-16759; cust #[protected]) totaling $48.93! Some even exchange! Called cust service yesterday (March 21) & spoke with Corita & explained what happened with this order was put on hold several times & she came back & told me that since I didn't return the items within the required time? they gave me a complimentary credit of $20.95. What? Without a receipt, its 45 days! Ok so my purchase totaling $19.48 turns into $27.98! Some even exchange. When did it get so difficult to return something to JCP, I never had a more difficult exchange as this. I am definitely rethinking my shopping with JCP online.

JC Penney misleading free shipping

I have been a JC Penney customer for over a decade and finally, a few years ago, I decided to open a credit card. I have spent thousands of hard earned dollars at this store and I am a platinum credit card holder. I recently placed an order that said it qualified for free shipping. I was previously going to ship it to the store, but figured why not send it to my house (located six minutes down the street) if it is free shipping. It was very misleading because before I checked out, I hit the apply coupon. Apparently it brought the total below $100 which caused me to pay shipping. I have been placing online orders for years and have never once paid for shipping because I refuse to when the store is only six minutes away from my house. I called customer service and spoke with three different people who all informed me there is nothing they can do. I will be calling corporate on Monday, but their customer service is terrible! If this issue does not get resolved I will definitely be telling everyone my story. I have always recommended JC Penney until this instance occurred. It is not like I am asking for something unreasonable. I even offered to purchase more to break that $100 threshold, but was told this was not an option. Hopefully someone can rectify this situation.

JC Penney ink tag left on dress and unfriendly associate to go with it

I went to JCPennys yesterday in Virginia! I live in Eden, NC! There isn't a penny's there! I purchased a dress! When I got home and took it from the bad, the damn ink tag was still on the dress! Don't know why the alarm didn't go off when I left! Now what do I do? Glad I wasn't going to wear it today! Now if I want to wear it I must drive another hour round trip to get it removed😡! Only to deal with an unfriendly associate again! I think this may be my last shopping trip at Penny's which I have been going to for over 40 years!

JC Penney dining room table - danger!

I purchased a solid wood round pedestal dining room table with 6 chairs. The table is less then 5 years old. While my 8 yr. old daughter was sitting at the table doing her homework the solid wood pedestal cracked broke in half and fell on my daughter. Thank God my husband was close enough to the table to save her from being severely hurt. I have called JCP customer services and have been unsuccessful in getting anyone to help us. This piece of wood did not come unscrewed nor was it broken or lose - the wood snapped in half. Pictures are below. I am trying to find someone who cares enough to answer our calls. this is completely unacceptable!

JC Penney store music

Every time I enter a JCPenney store I am blasted with loud music.
When I take my complaint to customer service I am told that they have no control over the type of or volume of the music piped in and can do nothing about it. It makes me wonder about the purpose of such an environment. And I can't help but think that most likely someone, somewhere did" a study "that people buy more when music (and I use the term music loosely) is presented.
Shopping used to be a fun pleasant experience for me but now all the stores, yours included, have created such an obnoxious environment that all I want to do is get in and out as fast as I can.
I am writing this to let you know that this technique does not work for everyone when in fact it makes me buy less.

JC Penney girls toddler clothing

On Friday, March 9th 2018, I purchased 8 articles of clothing for my 4 yr old granddaughter. 3 pairs of AZ Denim Bermuda shorts. They were on sale for $11.99 each. I was charged regular price of (2) @ $26 and (1) @ $27. Also, 2 of the shirts were 30% off. I paid full price of $22 each. For years I have shopped at JCP and have never had such a bad experience. The store # 1037, transaction 7164, associate 0058. I did have a 50% off coupon. I should have caught the error but, I was with my granddaughter and I still had a lot of shopping to do. We just moved to this area and this was the only visit to this store. I do hope that this issue will be addressed. My cell is: [protected].

JC Penney salon

My hair looks terrible. I'm very upset I went on 3/8/18 And had a picture of what I wanted. She messed it up. I went back on 3/9/18 Second time. My hair looks like crap. I'm out 105.00 Dollars and my hair looks like crap. Now I have to pay someone else to fix your salons mess up. I won't even leave my house because my hair is so stupid looking. I'm submitting a photo of what I wanted and what I got.

JC Penney joke-master stylist, beginner, etc.

It is all the same! I have been a licensed cosmetologist since 1978. Also, thank God I do not work there anymore. They treat their workers like second class citizens. Go elsewhere, they rip off the customers. Very high prices, for nothing. A joke---How they charge to what the worker is sooo called"master stylist." Many times, a cosmetologist out of beauty school, is just as good as a cosmetologist, who has worked for years.

JC Penney customer service

Most JCP reps that's I've had the unfortunate pleasure of dealing with on the phone are rude, incompetent, offensive, lack compassion, unprofessional, and not resolution driven.

I've had issues having my payment made on line allocated properly to the non promotional balance. This required multiple phone calls. The reps could not satisfy my request.

JC Penney management

I have work at JC penny for a couple of years hoping things change but is getting worst. The management have no training whatsoever. To start they never explain how to do things. You are expected to know. Then you get yelled at by not doing it right. Now for hours they give lots of hours to Jessica while the other employees don't get enough. Management goes around tell everybody that they have favorites and never get in trouble. Now if JC Penny upper management and headquarters find this out I'm pretty sure they will treat everyone equally. According to tha law they will be no discrimination and all will get treated equal.

JC Penney california 93120 formaldehyde phase 2 furniture

I ordered a table from JC Penney that has the label indicated. I would appreciate you having it picked up and I would like a full refund and free return. I ordered the table online. Had I known about the formaldehyde I would not have ordered it. I did not open the package for fear of being contaminated. I already have enough health issues. Please have it picked up . Please!

JC Penney jcpenney furniture delivery and non-stop delivery service

I bought a mattress and box spring online at JC Penney's around January 16th. It was my understanding that it would take 2 to 3 weeks for it to arrive. I received a notice from JC Penney about a 13 days after the order that the items had been shipped. I understood that they probably had to be shipped to a deliver place and then they would be scheduled to be delivered to our home. I called JC Penney after I received that email to check on the shipment and if I could schedule a deliver date. I was told by a JC Penney Rep. that I could call the delivery company and schedule the deliver date. She gave me the number, so I called. When I talked to the deliver company I was told they would call me for a delivery later on that day. I did not receive a call that day, so I called back to JC Penney's the next day to let them know I did not receive a delivery call. At that time I was told that my items were in and they should be contacting me with a delivery date so she forwarded me to the delivery company again. I was told again that I would receive a call later that day and the person I talked to at the delivery service told me he would check back with me tomorrow to make sure I received a call. I still did not receive a call. I think I waited another few days and I called JC Penney's again to try to find out what was going on with my order. I was never told my items were not received at the warehouse or ready to be delivered. I was told my mattress was there and that I could call for a delivery date. When I called Non-Stop Delivery using the number given to me by JC Penney, I was never told my mattress and box spring was not in their warehouse yet. This went on for another 7 days of trying to figure out what was going on with my order. No matter who I called I got the same story, that I would receive a phone call with the delivery date. I got to the point where I didn't want to deal with JC Penney or Non Stop Delivery anymore so my husband called. He talked to someone at JC Penney that told him the mattress and box spring hasn't been received at the Kentucky warehouse yet. Why was he told something totally different that what I was told? If I would have been told that I would have understood. Instead I kept being told I would receive calls that I never received. I even had them check on if the mattress was there, they never told it wasn't. We finally received a delivery call three weeks after I ordered my mattress. At that time I was told a delivery day, Feb. 19th but then I was told they would call me the day before delivery to give me a time window. I never received that call. I had to call the morning of the delivery day to find out when my mattress would be delivered. This whole issue was very frustrating. I will never buy furniture from JC Penney again. It just wasn't worth it. JC Penney is responsible for what they are telling their customers and what their delivery company is telling their customers. This not good business and customers can shop other places. I would have probably received my mattress and box spring sooner and not had to deal with the frustration I felt in dealing with JC Penney customer service and Non Stop Delivery customer service.

I ordered one Sealy mattress more than two weeks back January 8, 2023 and in JCP system shows as shipped but the Ryder trucker says they haven’t received anything. I asked them about payment on credit card and was asked to contact Synchrony financials. Now I am supposed to go thru this extra hassle of credit card, which they shouldn’t be charging without actual delivery.

I ordered a couch in MAY, it's now August, and I still don't have my couch. Yet, I'm stuck making payments since the charge has hit my card.

My original order was made online and I knew it was going to be about 6 weeks out. The order was canceled for credit card issues, WRONG, so it was reordered and it added another 6 weeks. Stuff happens, so I let that go. Here comes the delivery day; I got a call saying the couch was damaged, so they couldn't deliver it. Unreal! I was told they would be in contact for another delivery. Not a single person reached out to me. So I called them JCP and received the runaround. I called the next day and finally got someone who understood my frustration, he gave me the PO number and the shipper's phone number. I called these idiots and they said it's being delivered TOMORROW, but no one called me to let me know. I took the day off from work, so I could be here for delivery. Do you think the delivery happened, NOPE!

If you are ok with not receiving your items ordered for months on end, place your order...

JCP needs to take a lesson in customer service! This is not how things should be handled.

I to ordered a mattress set 12/23/22.

They said Delivery date would be 1/09/2023.

They sent me Notice for tracking for delivery date .

Bed frame shows up which was going to delivered after bed set.

So called and they said it won't be shipped until 1/30/23.

They said sorry for delay.

The kicker in the whole deal is it will take 3 weeks after the 1/30 date before they can deliver to my residence. I WILL BE PAYING MY BILL

BEFORE I RECEIVE WHAT ?

WHAT A NIGHTMARE.

I am having the same issues with a Mattress purchased on July 1. JCP says it has shipped.and is now in the hands of NSD. I have received a tracking number and it shows my matress left original terminal on July 5 then for the last 10 days it has been sitting at another terminal in nearby city. Still have no call from NSD and can not get any info from them over the phone. I am a big fan of JCP; but their choice of delivery service for furniture and mattresses is ridiculous! NSD. Nonstop Deliveries I am very disappointed.

Hoping to get my mattress some time this month?

I am facing a similar issue, they dropped a couch and they left all of the wood attached/screwed on the base of it. I called non stop delivery, no resolution yet.

Someone has to be able to help and protect our rights as a customers

JC Penney stafford t shirts

I am a very long time user of Stafford T shirts. I recently purchased a package of the shirts. All of them began pilling in front close to the neck after the second or third washing. Thinking I just had a bad batch, I just put some aside to use when painting or other such activities and recycled the rest. I bought a replacement package which have begun to do the same. I have some that are 5 years old that look better.

My only purpose in this is to ensure that somebody at JCP is aware of the problem as I love the product (when it isn't pilling).

JC Penney jewelry department

My boyfriend bought an engagement ring for me, for Christmas of 2017. He paid for the plan, that allowed us to get the ring sized, or replace any diamonds that may fall out, for free. A couple days after Christmas we took my ring into our JCpenny's in St. George, UT, where my boyfriend bought it. So that we could get it sized, because it was too big. We sized my finger and decided that a 5 1/2 would fit perfectly. They told us they would send it out to get sized, and that it would take about 3 weeks, until they got it back. Well, 3 weeks later they called us and told us it was back, and that we could come pick it up. So, we went to pick it up, I tried it on, and it was very snug. The lady at the jewelry counter checked the size for us, and it turned out that it was sized to a 4 3/8, not a 5 1/2. So then, they apologize and we go through the process again, of them sending it out to get sized. So another 3 weeks goes by, and we get a call stating that my ring was back, and that we could come pick it up. So, two days after they called, I go to pick it up, and my ring is nowhere to be found. So, two employees and two supervisors were looking everywhere for it, and it turns out that it somehow got put in the container of jewelry that was mailed out to be sized that morning. So then, the supervisor says they will call them on Monday, which was 2 days away, and they would have them mail it back. She also stated, that it would be back within 2 days. So, we call them 2 days later, 3 days later, 4 days later, and they still don't have it. So then, we call the middle of the next week, and they still don't have it... By this time my boyfriend and I are both pretty annoyed, because it's already February 21, 2018 and we still don't have my ring. If my ring is not back by the end of this week, or if it does come back, and again is the wrong size, we will be sure to get our money back, and go somewhere else to get a ring. We have heard excuse after excuse of "Sorry it's been busy, because of Christmas" or "Oh it's always hectic around Valentine's". My boyfriend of 3 years got me a ring, that symbolizes something, and I haven't even been able to wear it. It's been 2 months now, and we have had nothing but problems.

Desirable Resolution: Refund for the $32 cost of a haircut

I've been having a particularly rough couple weeks and decided to splurge on a haircut. I arrived with a picture of what I wanted and described it as well. My stylist barely glanced at the picture. After blow drying, she gave me a mirror and I tried to confirm that she'd put layers throughout as I'd asked (and as my picture detailed) because it didn't look like there were any layers. She said yes. I gave a very generous tip and left. Upon getting home, I realized there were absolutely no layers at all. I am very upset about this appointment. I usually go to Cost Cutters but treated myself to a better salon because I had expected better service.

JC Penney appt. not honored

Showed up for my 12noon at the Woodbridge location, was told by the receptionist that I was booked for a stylist that was off this week. I felt that enough was not done to accommodate me. The receptionist said she can but she can't do my hair? I left went to another location. I drove approximately one hour plus to and from, I want I called the E. Brunswick they booked me. I am experiencing the same like what is wrong with these women, why are wasting my time. I waited almost an hour, no o.e else was waiting it was empty in there. I am so upset .

I recently placed an on line order and received an email that all of my order had arrived at the store. I went to the store to pickup my order and discover one of my items was not delivered. The reps at the store was great they looked for awhile but could not locate. The manager asked to see my paperwork and in the bag we found a note from customer service apologizing that they could delivered the item but that I would be refunded. So the manager sent me on my way. I had a feeling they we would not refund me so I called cs. The first rep was nice and opened a ticket for me. She said someone would call me in 48 hrs. No one called. I called back and cs told me they could not help me I had to go back to the store. I asked to speak to manager and was told it would not help they would tell me the same thing. The "manager" did tell me the same thing. I have wasted time, money and gas on tring to buy a present for husband when cs should have taken care of my issue when I called.

JC Penney provided incorrect delivery timeline for mattresses - 4 to 6 weeks is too long!!

I placed a mattress order on Feb 1st . The details of the order indicated that I would receive a call by Feb 16th to schedule delivery.

I called customer service today (Feb 16th) and spoke to Sheila who did nothing to help me. She continued to reiterate these orders take 4 to 6 weeks.

Before and After an order is placed, the customer should be aware of a 4 to 6 weeks timeline.

Today is Feb 16th and according to the order details, I was supposed to be contacted to schedule delivery. Customer service is saying the mattress is still in transit.. Will never order anything again from JC Penney!

I'm facing the same issue. The mattress and box springs I purchased has been sitting in the shipping company's warehouse for over a month (probably torn apart and filled with rodent droppings by now) and they can't tell me when it will ever be delivered because they are 120 miles from my house and don't know when they will be in my area again. What a nightmare! I want what I paid for! I keep getting told they are working on it but it's been weeks. This is not how a company should do business. This is not how to keep longtime customers. JCP states they have no control over the shipping company yet they hired them so it's their responsibility to ensure they deliver their product.
