service quality
There is nothing jiffy about Jiffy Lube. I took a car in to be serviced, walked across the street to have lunch, and went back to find that my car had not been serviced. In fact, a car had been moved in front of mine in the queue. In the past, I've had minor problems, such as some kind of connector being left off and full services not being performed, but this is really the last straw.

Racism
on 8/20/11 Manager- Josh at the Jiffy Lube Wrightsboro Rd, Augusta, GA used racial slurs and refused repair service that he promised. Other employees stated that he was way out of line, and that I was a valued customer, he stated that he didn't want busniess from **ggers, and that I should go somewhere else to get car oil changed... This i only one of many...

This company Jiffy Lube is nothing but a bunch of criminals. I took my car in for a transmission flush and am now replacing my transmission for a cost of $3000. They have taken no responsibility for destroying my car, which ran like a dream before I went in for ROUTINE maintenance with them. After reading all of the consumer complaints and problems online about Jiffy Lube I wonder why and how they are still in business after all these years? Isn’t there a lawyer out there that would take on the many cases of fraud that this company continues to commit against consumers?
texts spam on my phone
Today is April 21st, 2011. I live in Burien, WA. I got texted SPAM from Jiffy Lube. I mean, real, honest to God spam. “One time special offer…” Had to text STOP to their robot phone number. The thing I thought was REALLY the kicker was ”standard text rates may apply.” NO KIDDING! I don’t know how this can be legal. I don’t know if there’s earlier precedent for this, but this is the first time it’s happened to me, and I WON’T HAVE IT. I complained to them THOROUGHLY, and told them I will not give them any more of my business until I believe they no longer send spam texts to anyone.
People: this is where it all begins. This is where our phones get flooded with spam. This is where we need to start getting spam filters for our own phones. jiffylubeopinion.com is where you can complain. Go there, and complain. And DO NOT do business with them until they change. Please. Please. I’m begging you. Please.
Scam
Normally Jiffy lube is easy and fine. I recently went to the Commack, NY location. I have never bein to a place that treated there customers so poorly. Starting the oil change they screwed up my tire. They told me it will be ready in an hour. After waiting and hour past the time i was told. They then told me i should have let them know my tire was strange. WHAT? i have a 300c that has never stock rims. They then kept giving me an attitude the longer it took. i guess in a dumb macanics mind they are so smart that they can not do anything wrong. JIFFYLUBE is a joke, there staff are jokes, there "work" is a joke. better have monkeys change your oil then these fools.
Went to new Jiffy Lube in Tempe, AZ for an oil change and never again. Maybe they changed the oil and filter, but I don't know what they did, except ruined my brakes.
As I drove away there has been a noise coming from the wheels and especially when I hit the brakes. Now I need to get my brakes repaired.
If Jiffy Lube wants to stay in business, maybe all employees need to take classes of how to treat the customers with ethics and respect and not to takes classes of how to take advantage of them.
After getting a $19.99 quote over the phone and verifying the price with the check-in mechanic for a basic oil change, I was presented with a $47 bill. The manager said that I must have called a different store since that there were no $19.99 oil changes at this location. After I pointed out that the $19.99 price was actually on the check-in sheet, the manager said that this was a sheet from another store. HUH? He promptly reversed his story and gave me the oil change at the $19.99 rate. I promptly made sure that the other 4 or 5 people in the store knew what a great deal I was getting and that they were going to be ripped off shortly. Where the $47 price came from I do not know, thier listed Signature Oil Change is $37.99.
Oil change went wrong
3000 mile oil change went horrible wrong.
They of course take out the air filters. Engine and the cabin filter. To see if they need to be replace which I guess is protocol. In any case I had to go back the same day cause when I turned on the air con it was making a loud humming sound which it never made before till that day. Went back ASAP. The cabin filter was put in backwards. A couple of days later engine started vibrating and stalling and it broke down. Had to get it towed. Took it to a mechanic which we have been using for years. He asked who change the oil last? He said they failed to tighten up the air holes clamps. $235.00 the total which included toll and diagnostic and 10 minute labor.
Get documentation from your mechanic and take it and the bill tp Jiffy Lube. Take your vehicle to your mechanic for the next oil change.
they forgot to put oil back in truck
Jiffy lube forgot to put oil back in my truck after an oil change - now they have to replace my engine in my truck
I went into our local Jiffy Lube a couple of weeks ago and of course they tried to sell me something I did not go in for. The employee told me he could do a transmission flush for $79. I told him I probably would have that done soon. He said that he would give me the same price when I came back. Today I went back and was told the price was now $149. When I told the employee about the $79 I was quoted, he said well, ok, I'll take off $50 so the cost will be $99. I agreed, but about 10 minutes later the employee came into the customer service area to tell me I needed a special additive which would then cost me another $50. That's enough, not going back to Jiffy Lube anymore. This is the same place I have taken my car since moving here in 2000. Being I drove 50 miles to work each day, I was in there often. Now will go to the local full service station..at least I will know what it will cost me from the beginning. By the way, I told the employee to pull my car out of the bay as I would not be having any service done by them anymore.
I agree do not go to Jiffy Lube...they do not care what they are doing .
The jiffy lube in EDMOND, OKLAHOMA forgot to put oil in my car TOO! Not only did they call me a liar and tell me that there's no way they forgot to put oil in my car. BUT I made sure to buy a full synthetic oil change. I've been going for 3 years and never had a problem until they switched management. Now not only am I out all that money, but my car is making a TON of noise, and they still won't be responsible and take the blame. I called the head manager and he said he would refund me and give me a free oil change. Then I went into the shop they said they weren't responsible and would not give me my money back. I called the head manager twice right after the assistant manager called him and of course he wouldn't answer. So screw Jiffy Lube none of them can do their jobs right.
Too many pot heads work there.
Jiffy Lube stole my wallet
The night before when i came home from work i decided to leave my wallet in the car. Mind you no one but myself knew that i had left it there pinched between the console and the passengers side. So the next morning my husband was doing something nice for me by taking my car to get a simple oil change. When the oil change was finished, one of the employees is to vacuum the car. While the employee is vacuuming the car my husband is standing outside looking through the window seeing what the employee is doing inside the car. About a good five to ten minutes goes by and all is supose to be finished. When my husband got home we decided to see how much money was in my Wallet but when i went to the car there was no wallet there where i left it. Since it was to late to call the place i went striaght to the police station and made a report. The next day i told the manger what had happened and i also told her that if her employee was vacuuming my car for over five minutes shouldnt my car be clean? But it wasnt only the drivers side.
They are not responsible for personal items left in your vehicle. It was pretty silly of you to leave it in your car.
Harassment at work (threats)
I worked for this company since September 2010 - April 2011 and throughout my employment with them they constantly threatened employees with the statement 'action will be taken, from written discipline to termination if sales goals aren't met' and that if 'you can't do it we will replace you' -- when they told us over and over that we don't 'sell' we make recommendations... I was a loyal employee that always did what I was told, went from store to store and never complained, then decided I had to get out of there, because I felt backed into a corner with them, where I had no choice but to do what they told me to do. I wish there was someway to do something about their bully tactics that they imply on their employees.
Lucor Inc./jiffy Lube is a terrible company and has a history of treating their employees terribly. This is no surprise to me. Whatever you do, do not go to work for this company or consider taking your car to any Jiffy Lube in Atlanta. Would you trust someone working on your car who makes $7.50/ hour and most likely is fresh out of the correctional system? Jiffy Lube hires the employees that nobody else will take. They take advantage of people who have nowhere else to go and take advantage of customers that don't know any better.
Who was your DSO? Manning? Im a GSO currently and know what you are going through.
How can you force something on the customer. The only thing that a customer would say is no. We don't force anything on a customer if they don't want it. If you don't have the knowledge or profession in automotive then try to find another profession. I have ran shops for over 30 years and my job is to educate customers with the knowledge of there vehicle. Remember this is the second largest investment besides your home. Someday you will learn.
Yea and they try to force you to sell stuff to people when they don't need it, and try to justify that by making recommendations based on manufacturers. Which the manufacturers don't approve doing the services.
cell phone text spamming
Jiffy Lube texted a spam advertisement to my phone today.
I don't know if any other companies are doing this, but Jiffy Lube definitely is. It claimed a "special one time offer" and required texting "STOP" back to turn off their spamming. It even acknowledged that "standard text rates may apply." I do not have a smart phone; I don't have regular html email that alerts me on my phone when it's received. It was a regular, everyday, real text message.
This must be stopped. This is the beginning of out own personal cell phone inboxed turning into our junked-up email inboxes... except they sit in your pocket and beep at you every time some cheap, inconsiderate company wants to harass you into giving them money.
Go to jiffylubeopinion.com and complain. Tell them you won't do business with them until you believe they have stopped this practice. And then, DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THEM UNTIL YOU BELIEVE THEY'VE STOPPED SPAMMING CELL PHONES! It isn't okay. You know it. And they know it, too.
Let's send them a message.

This isn't a complaint... but I do want to yes that the Jiffy Lube in Naperville, IL (on Ogden Blvd.) is one of the best stores there is. I just love the way the man handle customers with respect. They really go beyond there customer service. I just want to say thank you for helping me out on yesterday Ted and Krlye. Keep those positive attitudes going and good things will come your way. The atmosphere in that Jiffy Lube was wonderful…. Now that is Excellent Customer Service!
God Bless you, Veronica
I received the same text message, wrote a blog post about it here: http://thederekjohnson.com/2011/04/25/jiffy-lube-spams-customers-with-text-messages/ They can't send a text message to you even if they do make you check a box, it's not a true opt-in.
I would check the fine print of the last form you signed from them or the last service receipt (maybe on the back). My guess is that you unknowingly "accepted" marketing offers being sent to you in multiple ways. This should be of no surprise to people - Jiffy Lube practices deceptive marketing tactics while you're standing in front of them with your car, why wouldn't they do it in their off time?
Ruined my transmission
I took my car in for a transmission flush, which was recommended by one of their staff. My car ran like a dream, with no transmission issues. When I left I realized that my car was running extremely poor and that the transmission was not running properly. I went back three times. I eventually found out that they had used the wrong transmission fluid for my...

I took my van to have the oil changed and radiator fluid exchange and tire rotation service on 2/13/2010. Approximately one week later my van started loosing power and the engine was shaking tremendously and the car shut off. It would not start again so I towed it to kens automotive 803 s. Ludlow st. Dayton. Ohio. 45402 to have it looked at. The auto mechanic diagnosed and check for cracked block or blown headgasket. There's antifreeze mixed in oil-white smoke coming from the pipe! I received a phone call from kens automotive and he said cause of problem. Jiffy lube did a radiator flush - total exchange of fluids didnt use proper procedure rehooking engine and radiator hoses - there is a bleeding procedure that they did not follow (Attached) is the procedure. There was no problema with the van prior to them doing this and I looked after it began to overheat and loosing power. I call them on monday morning to talk to the manager. He denied there company as being liable. I wrote to the jiffy customer service dept and rec'd no help. I wrote to the jiffy ceo/president and rec'd no help they sent me letter and said at this time. Based on the information given the company does not feel it can accept liability for the damages. I will never use jiffy lube services again and strongly recommend no one else take chances with their vans either. Jiffy did not honor their guarantee did not fix my van, and did not return my money. I lost $216.09 I paid them and it cost me again to have my van fix $1400.63 I have the proof attached at the bottom of this page. The van repair and oil clean-up was out of my pocket and should have been paid by jiffy lube. If jiffy lube wants to stay in business, maybe all employees need to take classes of how to treat the customers with ethics and respect and not to takes classes of how to take advantage of there customers.
Stay away from Jiffy Lube. They do not have ASE certified employees.
I have service manuals for all my vehicles and usually do the simple repairs and maintenance myself. I've done oil and filter changes, greased all the chassis and drive train fittings and back flushed the radiator many times on my Jeep Cherokee.
I decided to try Jiffy Lube one day as I saw they offered 4 x 4 service. They said they had everything to do my Jeep right. A proper oil / filter change and full chassis and 4 x 4 drive train lube. The worker first starts draining the motor oil then stands in the pit under the Jeep for a few minutes doing nothing. I asked him, anything wrong? He says I don't have grease fittings so he can't do the chassis or 4 x 4 drive train lube. I pointed out all the grease fittings underneath and noticed he had that deer in the headlight, clueless look on his face.
Realizing I am talking to someone who has no experience, who has never worked on a Jeep before I decided to stop right there and said fine, OK, just change the oil and filter.
I made sure the worker put the oil pan drain plug back in correctly. That is another famous Jiffy Lube problem.
The oil filter on the 4.0 liter, in-line 6 motor has Metric threads. Next to the threads on the filter it is marked Metric. The worker is spending about 10 minutes looking for my filter. I asked him if he was having a problem. He said no. Finally I see him having a difficult time screwing a simple filter on and go over and ask him to let me see it. He turns it over and it is the wrong filter marked USA next to the threads. He then admits they didn't have the correct Metric thread filter. So instead of telling me they don't have the correct filter, the worker tries to screw on a US thread filter for a V8 engine and nearly cross threaded the engine side permanently!
I told him to put my old filter back on, put in new oil and then complained to the manager. I was not charged for the oil.
Had I not known what is right and correct to do, I would have been charged for a 4 x 4 chassis lube I never got, and had a wrong oil filter put on that would eventually cause me motor problems later on as I drove.
Jiffy Lube attempted to rip me off on a "needed" coolant flush
Jiffy Lube attempted to rip me off on a "needed" coolant flush. I had rejected the service and I happened to have a water pump go bad. In having that replaced, so was all my antifreeze.
Two or three weeks later, I had an oil change at Jiffy Lube and the guy came in with the turkey baster thing full of my "dirty coolant". He recommended that I flush the radiator, etc.
I did my best not to start laughing. I asked him nicely, "Where'd you get that from?" He said it was from my radiator. I said again, "No, where'd you get that from?" He just said, "What do you mean?"
I explained that the water pump situation and that I had new antifreeze. I asked again where the dirty fluid came from. No answer. He just said, "Well, your reservoir is empty." and walked away.
I checked my car when I got home to find a loose clamp on a hose coming off the radiator. I will NEVER go to Jiffy Lube again. This was a blatant attempt at a $80 rip-off. Don't fall for this scheme!

I heard a very interesting story a couple of years ago right after one of the investigative reporting stories came out about Jiffy Lube. Jiffy Lube’s big concession to the American people was to hold a series of “mandatory training” sessions for all of their employees.
The manager of a mom-and-pop oil change garage told me that he had interviewed a JL employee who wanted to come and work for him. The kid did not like Jiffy Lube’s practices and was tried of trying to rip off customers. The Kid said that the “mandatory training” that was held was not about being honest – NOT EVEN CLOSE! The training was on two things – How not to get caught and how to spot reporters!
I will never even think about going to one of these chains! I will always patronize small, family-owned businesses. I hope Jiffy Lube, Quick Lube, and the rest all GO OUT OF BUSINESS!

I am a military family that relocated to Kentucky for the military. I went to jiffy lube for an oil change with my husband because previously before our move we came to Kentucky to look for a place to stay and was in my mother mini van. Jiffy Lube should be called: Jiffy "bring your car, hurry up and wait while our apathetic, under-staffed employees work on getting around to you, at some point, if at first they don't say...it's going to be a while before we can get to you" Lube. There's NEVER anything Jiffy about Jiffy Lube. I've never seen a company so willing to let money walk away. Why on a Sunday when the rest of the world is off does Jiffy Lube open with 2 people? That leaves a two-bay shop with one bay doing nothing...stupid, stupid, stupid. Worst attitute and customer service ever. I'll never visit a Jiffy Lube again and I recommend the same to the rest of you. Where's the franchise owner making sure employees are doing what they're paid to do. I suspect if they knew how apathetic their staff was they'd take some immediate action to improve customer service. Sorry JL, you've lost a customer and as many customers I can convince NEVER to give you their money.

Unfair to employee
Being unfair to employee. Manager explaining that they are not calling anyone in particular out but stating that the employee is not doin their job with out stating it. Not fully explaining how they want the job done, not explaining where stock goes in store room, and not treating the employee with respect or taking the employee seriously about their job.

Broke my car and did not fix it
I took my van in for a oil change, and they had my car for about 35-40 minutes. When they came back they told me that the last autothat changed my oil cracked my oil pan by tightening the bolts too much. They had to put some sort of temporary seal on my pan for me to drive my car out of there, and told me I had to get my oil pan replaced ASAP. I told them that I did not have any leaks before, my driveway was spotless, and if the last company had cracked it there would be signs on my riveway. They refused to pay for the repairs, I contacted headquarters...no help there. The repairs were about $250.00. I did not bother with small claims though I have regretted not doing so. This happened about 2004

failure to pay damages
Recently (6/12/2010) we had our 2008 Chevy Corvette into Jiffy Lube 884 Blossom Hill Rd. San Jose, Ca. 95123 for an oil change. Their "signature oil change" includes change of oil (synthetic), and top off all other fluids.
On 8/10/2010) our vehicle needed to be towed to the Chevrolet Dealership at 905 W. Capitol Expwy San Jose, Ca. 95136. We currently have 15, 000 mi. on this vehicle as we do not drive it as a primary vehicle. The tow service was AAA. That afternoon we received a call with questions as to where this vehicle has been. Since there has been no previous mechanical issues. The manager explained that the clutch is in-op, pedal went to the floor. Tech verified with inspection of the clutch fluid, found seal for container distorted, some type of red fluid has contaminated system-possibly ATF or P/S fluid. Necessary to replace clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder incl. hoses, replaced, now everything checked out fine.. Total $2626.62 which is not included on the warrantee because the oil change was not serviced at dealership.
We rented a car for 5 days as we needed another vehicle. Hertz $700.00.
Jiffy Lube was contacted when we were first called for diagnosis. The response was who was on the invoice that did the service? "He messes up he needs to be fired". When the work is complete call us back. We in turn have our vehicle back on 8/18/2010. With providing all documents and by the way the parts with fluids that are Hazardous are still at the dealership if need to go to court. Jiffy Lube and their district manager REFUSE to pay. I will indeed go to court now I will add for the time off and any other fees.

Cut to the chase. You need to get lawyer and file a lawsuit now!
. JIFFY LUBE is an ongoing criminal enterprise in my opinion.
You will get NOTHING from them unless you start the process and drag them into court.
SUE THE LOCAL JIFFY LUBE OWNER. JIFFY LUBE MAIN OFFIE IS USELESS!
Sue for legal costs, rental replacement, lost time from work plus all the car damages in small claims court.
JIFFY LUBE ruined my truck's 4x4y transmission.
I got nothing from JIFFY LUBE but lies and the run-around until I started the legal papers!
THEY FORGOT TO PUT DRAIN PLUG ALL THE WAY IN. All the ATF LEAKED and smoked the transmission. $4800 +
JUST SUE THE ^$#@.
Small claims court usually is less then fifty dollars to file suit.
Document as much as possible now and get signed statements from anyone and everyone AAA, CHEVY DEALER etc. The guy who screwed up at Jiffy Lube.and tape all/any conversations with Jiffy Lube.
JUST GOOGLE jiffy lube + complaints. YOU WILL GET ABOUT 125, 000 RETURNS
stay away!
It's been 21 years since I've been to a Jiffy Lube. In 1989 they improperly installed an oil filter on my car causing the engine to seize up. They refused to take responsibility and I could not afford to pursue legal action. I have been boycotting them ever since and I have made it my mission to tell everyone to avoid Jiffy Lube . I estimate that I have cost them over $25, 000 dollars in lost business over the years. Screw them.

Disregard previous comment, for some reason was thinking of Les Schwab. As for Jiffy Lube, if you aren't at your car when they're ready for you, then it's no suprise they pulled someone in ahead of you. How are they supposed to know what you want and confirm your account history (if applicable) with them.
That really depends on whether or not you were there with an appointment or just as a walk in. If you were a walk in, then remember that people that have appointments have priority. If you had an appointment then its possible that the other car had one as well (prior to you) and was running late. There's a lot to consider when it comes to prioritization at Jiffy Lube. Ultimately, make sure you have plenty of spare time cause you'll likely be there a while (appointment or not).
