LabCorp Bothell: Disorganized and Unprofessional Experience with Hysterical Employee
I recently moved from California to Washington and have been using LabCorp for my medical tests. When I moved, I suggested to my doctor that we continue using LabCorp and he forwarded the test order to the LabCorp in Bothell. On June 4th, I went to the Bothell laboratory to have my blood, urine, and feces collected. I was instructed to put my name and date of birth on the bottles and was given a bag to collect the feces. However, when I returned on June 6th to leave my samples, the order could not be found. After a long time, I discovered that the paper describing my exam was inside the bag I received with the bottles, which I had discarded because I was not instructed to bring it back.
After more than an hour with no solution for my case, I asked to speak with the Supervisor/Manager and was directed inside the lab. An employee named Brooklyn asked to see my samples and tried to take them out of my hand, which I stopped her from doing. She then started screaming and threatened to call the police, claiming that I had assaulted her. I calmly decided to wait for the police, but the receptionist (Josephine) kept trying to resolve the issue of losing my exam order. Brooklyn became hysterical, getting totally out of control, red, gasping, and walking in circles while repeating insults nonstop to my person. Several times I was forced to be blunt with Brooklyn and even rude to her, in order to try to continue the conversation with the receptionist.
After an hour and a half, I left, leaving my phone number with the receptionist and leaving Brooklynn even more hysterical. I had to discard the samples because I was told they shouldn't be refrigerated, and I already had them out of the fridge for over an hour. My appointment to review my exams will be on Monday and due to the total disorganization of the laboratory, I will not be able to present all the results that my doctor expects.
I have several considerations about this experience. Firstly, my doctor sent the exam request (several) to LabCorp, how can LabCorp not find this request, in the past two days before I received instructions to do that exam? Secondly, could it be that such disorganization only happens in the order area? Or can it also happen in other areas? Could it be that my samples were lost, and, in their place, others were analyzed? Will my results be my own or will they be someone else's? Thirdly, will this disorganization be in all LabCorp units in the Seattle Area or is it specific to this unit? Fourthly, should a person as unbalanced as Brooklyn be working with people in a health facility?
After two operations and 6 months of chemotherapy, during the next 5 years I will have to do several tests from time to time and the least I hope is that this happens in a place that I trust and that I don't need to stress more. Unfortunately, due to all the facts described, LabCorp is neither a trustworthy nor a friendly place in my current understanding. I hope LabCorp will review its procedures preventing more people from having the same feeling as I do today.
LabCorp Review: Unethical Practices, HIPAA Violations, and Overworked Employees
I recently started working at LabCorp during the COVID-19 pandemic. I was hired for a second shift position at a Massachusetts site, but due to the pandemic, the company had me driving to a different site in a different state every day. This made scheduling appointments nearly impossible, but I persevered.
After three weeks, I was placed at a location where Spanish was the primary language spoken by my coworkers. Unfortunately, I do not speak Spanish, and since COVID-19 was at its peak, we were just sitting around for hours. Two of my coworkers had Bluetooth devices in their ears and were Facetiming their friends, speaking loudly in Spanish all day. This was a clear violation of HIPAA regulations, as any sort of video chat or recording is strictly prohibited. Patients would come in and their personal medical information could be overheard by anyone on the phone.
I was taking an online course about work ethics and workplace harassment at the time, and the main topic of the course was "It is considered unethical or harassment to continuously speak to one employee in a language that is not understood or spoken by another employee." When I was finally placed at my location, I had to take my one and only break one hour into my shift because the first shift ended an hour after my start time.
As the only phlebotomist, I was not only drawing blood but also centrifuging, aliquoting, pouring off urines, entering orders, and chasing down a team of seven medical assistants for specimens that I had to enter before the end of my shift. Every single night, I had to stay anywhere from 35 minutes to two and a half hours late because I was the only phlebotomist.
At the beginning of my employment, LabCorp did not have phlebotomists testing people with COVID-19 symptoms. Patients were stabbed and drawn outside by another company. But when that company wasn't available, I started noticing COVID-19 nasal swabs ordered on requisitions. When I inquired about this, I was told, "They only were showing two symptoms, so it is okay." I knew it was because drive-thru testing was not available that day, so doctors would swab, then send patients who may be infected to me to draw.
In the evening, there was no social distancing, and patients would be 15 deep waiting for me, the only phlebotomist, to enter orders, draw, spin, aliquot, etc. The daytime limit was three patients in only. When I would ask for help because I was staying too late and social distancing wasn't occurring, I was told not to sanitize after each patient and not to enter orders until after all patients left. This was extremely unethical and dangerous. I was expected to do the work of four people and stay until every sample was finished, regardless of only being a 30-hour employee.
So, I worked 39 hours or 42 hours, even though I was told, "Once in a while, you might have to stay 25 minutes to half an hour late." LabCorp is a huge company that treats employees terribly and has zero interest in patients' quality of treatment. LabCorp cares about making money only.
I finally quit after a 350-pound man came barging into my draw room while I had a needle in a patient's arm, complaining he had been waiting 15 minutes and it doesn't take that long to draw blood. Of course, he didn't understand or know that I had to look up, enter, print out, and explain to the current patient imperative instructions on 12 stool samples she was doing later that night before I took her blood.
If LabCorp had replaced the scanner for medical cards and credit cards as I asked many times, my computer would not have wasted two minutes searching for a scanner that didn't exist. Overall, my experience at LabCorp was extremely negative, and I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Wrong Billing
I visited Village Medical located at 20675 Farm to Market 1093, A, Richmond, TX 77407 (phone number [protected]) for my annual wellness visit on March 10, 2023. I have had my health insurance with BlueCross BlueShield since 2010 and my annual wellness visit has always been covered by my insurance. I was surprised to receive a bill of $406.20 from LabCorp...

Before my blood was taken I expressed to the doctor that I have a fear of needles and may pass out. The doctor's response was to say "oh lord" and then leave the room, the curtain open for everyone to see me and my information on the computer. She then shouted throughout the small building that "she had a fainter" - everyone including other doctors, patients, receptionists, and people in the waiting room could hear her. When I expressed my anger to her, she laughed. This was incredibly mortifying for me and made the whole process very difficult to get through. This behavior from a medical professional is unacceptable and could have been handled by discreetly asking her colleagues if they could let us use the room with the bed.
Desired outcome: This medical professional should be identified and suspended/fired, since I have heard from trusted family members that they have had similar negative experiences with her.
So to post results
The past three years I've been forced to use LabCorp because my insurance won't allow any other lab to perform the work. Labcorp has closed all their locations near me, I now drive 9-15 miles in the Chicago Metro area to get to a facility. I make an appointment 1.5 weeks in advance (they only have one or 2 a day you can sign up for) and the results are never to my Doctor before 2-2.5 weeks. Other facilities or my Doctor's office is next day. Their Customer Service is horrible. You cannot speak to a person. Voicemail and Email only which both go unanswered for days at a time. I have to cancel my Doctor's appointment which I made a year in advance because the results take so long to get. Horrible service. Horrible sense of urgency on their part, and no customer service help what so ever. Completely shielded by technology so the don't have to work with their customers.
Desired outcome: Results of my blood draw posted today so I don't have to cancel my Dr's appointment and wait 3 months to get back in. Appt. Confirmation number was [protected]
Debit my bank account without permission
I recently had doctor requested bloodwork completed. At the time of the blood draw, I paid my co-pay directly to the lab tech. Approximately one week later, i received an invoice from Lab Corp advising there was an additional charge and they had already debited my bank account. On checking my bank account, they had indeed taken their additional fee a few...

Bianca Vencata scheduled appointment w/me for your Nationwide Health Educator position on 7-13-23 for 8/17/23, 11 am, which I thought was so far in advance from her email to me, asking for a time to schedule an interview.
I emailed her yesterday @ [protected]@labcorp.com to confirm our 11 am scheduled interview. She confirmed.
Today, nearly 2.5 hours AFTER the scheduled 11 am interview, she emailed me, cancelling it stating someone else was selected.
Emails I mentioned are attached.
Not only is this unprofessional, it is extremely disrespectful of my time that I lost to paying clients!
If this HR person is representative of LabCorp, I do NOT want to work for such a company. If not, then, you have some serious training/retraining to do w/this person who not only lacks courtesy and respect, she is markedly deficient in professionalism - a quality that is not enticing to bringing quality people into your company!

Not receiving lab results
I was ordered to do a stool sample as part of tests and labs I’m doing to uncover the reason I have had terrible stomach aches and I turned in my stool sample at the Labcorp located in Islandia inside of Walgreens on June 8th and have not gotten any results back. I had a doctors appointment on July 7th in which they also weren’t able to locate the sample. I contacted Labcorp customer service via email and on July 14th they emailed me back initially. On July 17th they informed me they’ve contacted the supervisor of the location and on the 21st of July they told me that the supervisor would be contacting me that day. The supervisor never reached out via phone call or email. On July 27th I emailed customer service back to inform them that the supervisor did not reach out to me and they informed me that they will make contact with that supervisor again. August 8th will make it 2 months since I’ve turned in my sample and still have not been offered a solution or any answers by LabCorp as to where my test results are.
Employee being rude
Hi there, this is my first and only complaint about an employee of Labcorp as I have used your services for many years. I had an appointment today at the Labcorp location on 588 Sunrise Ave, Roseville, CA 95661, and the employee there was very rude. Rude enough for me to take time out of my day to submit a complaint. She was the only one there doing the...
Read full review of LabCorpStill awaiting test results…
I’ve been waiting almost 10 business days for the results of a test that was supposed to take 5 days at most per the labcorp website. When I call labcorp, they say “the lab is experiencing delays and they can’t give an exact date. Could be 1 to 2 weeks.” WTF?!? I’ve literally spent $750+ out of pocket (uninsured) on testing at labcorp but I can’t even get treated because I’m STILL WAITING ON RESULTS. I can’t even have the follow up appointment with my doctor because I don’t have results. This is unacceptable Labcorp!
Desired outcome: Provide a date test results will be available.
Results not sent to provider or patient
On JUly 17 I had an appointment to get blood drawn at a labcorp on Saxon Avenue, inside walgreens in Orange city. At 0945 I had blood drawn. I have been waiting for the results and my doctor is still waiting for the results. I tried contacting labcorp but nobody will get back to me. They did the same thing in March of this year. They bill my insurance company but we don't get the results. Highly unusual because I have not had any previous problems with Labcor in the past 4 years. Something is fishy here and I plan to file a complaint with their regulating agency in Tallahassee. My life is essentially in their hands and I am unable to get anyone to respond to me.
Desired outcome: I need my results or I file a major complaint

Read full review of LabCorpLabCorp Appointment Scheduling: Easy but Flawed System for Drug Testing
I recently had to take a drug test for a job and decided to use LabCorp's services. With the current Covid-19 situation, I was unsure about the scheduling process and requirements, so I called their customer service line. Unfortunately, I was directed to a voicemail system that only provided basic information. However, the voicemail did instruct me to visit their website to schedule an appointment.
Upon visiting their website, I was able to easily navigate to the appointment scheduling page. I selected the "Employment Drug Screen" option and was given several time options. I chose 8:45am and printed out my appointment confirmation. I arrived at the LabCorp location ten minutes early and signed in. The system immediately notified the receptionist that I was there for drug testing.
However, I was then informed that drug screening did not start until 10am. I was confused because I had selected the "Employment Drug Screen" option and was given the option to choose an earlier time. The receptionist explained that there was a glitch in their system and that the website clearly stated the times for drug testing. Frustrated, I had to drive back home and waste 30 minutes of my time.
After returning home, I revisited their website and read over the appointment scheduling process again. While it does mention the drug testing times after selecting a location, there is no clear explanation of the glitch in the system or any differences between scheduled appointments and walk-ins. It was evident from my conversation with the receptionist that this was a common issue that she had to apologize for frequently.
Overall, I was disappointed with my experience with LabCorp. While the appointment scheduling process was easy, the glitch in their system caused me to waste time and energy. I hope that they can fix this issue soon to prevent future inconveniences for their customers.
Labcorp's Incorrect Coding Caused Unnecessary Expenses and Stress - Disappointing Experience
Went to Labcorp for my annual physical bloodwork and it's been a tradition for me for decades. The person who handled my paperwork was different from the usual one I deal with. There was a small fee of about $4 that I had to pay, but I kept receiving invoices for it. I called them and even my insurance company, but it seemed that the code was entered incorrectly, with the last digit off. I communicated with them via email and told them about it, but months later, I received another bill. To my surprise, it has now been sent to a collection agency. This small error has caused hundreds of dollars to be spent just to correct it, involving Labcorp, my insurance company, myself, and another party.
I was recommended to go to Quest for my tests because their information goes directly into my doctor's office files. However, I liked one of the Labcorp offices, but now I'm considering going to Quest because of this experience. It seems that Labcorp offices are disappearing, and I wonder if this is one of the reasons why. The small charge should not be legitimate since these routine tests are covered by my insurance. I even informed Labcorp that my insurance thought the coding was incorrect, but they never got back to me. It looks like Labcorp will lose thousands of dollars in business since they did all my lab work, but I will go elsewhere. It's a shame that there are only two labs across the country that do this work, Labcorp and Quest.
Overall, my experience with Labcorp was disappointing. The error in the coding caused unnecessary stress and expenses. I hope that Labcorp will improve their communication and customer service to prevent this from happening to others.
Terrible Customer Service at LabCorp in Hialeah, FL: A Warning to All
I recently visited the LabCorp located in the Palmetto Medical Building in Hialeah, FL and I must say, it was the worst customer service experience I have ever had in my entire life. The receptionist was extremely rude and lacked any form of education or manners. I honestly believe she would be better suited to work with animals rather than humans. I left feeling worried about my health and upset to the point where I thought I was having a heart attack. The receptionist refused to acknowledge my presence, even when I spoke to her directly. The worst part was that the supervisor was present and witnessed the entire ordeal, yet did nothing to intervene.
People go to LabCorp for medical tests because they are sick and in need of help. The least they could do is acknowledge their patients and treat them with respect. I have no idea how someone like that receptionist could be hired in the first place. She needs to be fired for not doing her job and treating people so poorly, especially the elderly. The supervisor was no better, as she did nothing to help the situation.
Even the other people in the waiting area advised me to go to social media and share my horrible experience. It was so bad that I became sick and had to go to bed. My family was extremely worried about me and feared that something worse could happen because of my visit to LabCorp. I will never go back there again. It is not worth risking my health and well-being because of the rude, senseless, disrespectful, negative, and uneducated people that work there.
In conclusion, I strongly advise anyone who needs medical tests to avoid LabCorp in Hialeah, FL. The customer service is terrible and the staff lacks any form of respect or professionalism. It is not worth risking your health and well-being for such a horrible experience.
Disappointing Experience with LabCorp: Poor Time Management and Communication Skills
I recently had an online appointment with LabCorp and I must say, the experience was not what I expected. I followed all the instructions online to complete the appointment process and arrived 10 minutes before my appointment time. I checked in online as required and was informed that I could sit in my car and wait instead of a crowded waiting room. This was a great option for me as I prefer to avoid crowded places.
My appointment time came and went, and after about 8 or so minutes after the appointment time, I decided to go into the waiting room. However, there was no receptionist in sight, so I had to wait. I could hear the staff in the back talking and laughing, and it appeared that they were having a good time. I waited for another 10 minutes, and a technician finally came out and called a patient to go back with her. I advised the tech that I had an appointment 15 minutes earlier, but she told me to have a seat.
While waiting, a few more clients came in and registered, along with a messenger who was delivering an item. Another 10 minutes went by, and the tech called two additional clients back. The messenger got tired of waiting and left. Finally, the receptionist came back and sat down. After a few minutes, I contacted her and told her that I had an appointment some time ago. She asked for my name, and after checking her computer, she asked me for my lab order. I was then sent back to have my lab work completed.
By this time, it was 30 plus minutes past my appointment time, and I wondered why I even bothered to make an appointment. It was obvious to me that the staff was not very interested in helping the clients or trying to stay on schedule. I understand that things can get busy, but it would have been nice if the staff had communicated with me about the delay or apologized for the inconvenience.
Overall, my experience with LabCorp was not great. While the online appointment process was easy to follow, the actual appointment was not well-managed. I hope that the staff can improve their communication and time management skills in the future.
Poor Customer Service Experience with LabCorp Billing Department
I recently had an experience with LabCorp that left me feeling frustrated and disrespected. I received a bill for lab work and promptly sent a check via mail to pay it off. According to my bank account transactions, the check was received and cashed on time. However, for the next two months, I continued to receive "past due" notices in the mail.
After some searching, I finally found a phone number for LabCorp's billing department. It wasn't easily accessible and wasn't even listed on the bill - only a fax number was provided. When I finally got through to a representative, I was met with a dismissive and condescending attitude. The representative immediately stated that my account had a "ZERO balance" and seemed to want to end the call as quickly as possible.
I tried to explain that I was still receiving past due notices and that my bank showed the check had been cashed, but the representative continued to repeat the same phrase about my account having a zero balance. It was clear that he wasn't interested in helping me or even listening to my concerns.
As a customer, I was left feeling disrespected and frustrated. It's important for companies to understand that their customer service representatives are the face of the company and can greatly impact a customer's perception of the company as a whole. It's crucial to hire professionals with proper etiquette and to provide them with the support and resources they need to deliver high-quality customer service.
In conclusion, while LabCorp may provide quality lab work, their customer service left a lot to be desired. I hope that they take steps to improve their customer service in the future and treat their customers with the respect they deserve.
Avoid LabCorp in Bryn Mawr, PA: Hassle, Rude Staff, and Billing Errors
I went to LabCorp in Bryn Mawr, PA for some fasting labs and boy was it a hassle! I tried to make an appointment online, but the earliest they could schedule me was a whole month away at 1 pm. Can you believe it? And there were no early appointments available for months! So, I took the appointment and when I got there, I checked in on my phone like they told me to and got a confirmation text. Then, I waited in my car like they instructed. But after 45 minutes, I went inside to ask when they would take me. The front desk person told me that their Internet was down and they couldn't see anyone until someone came to fix it. They said I could wait indefinitely or come back another time. What a waste of time!
The next morning, I decided to try my luck and walked in without an appointment at 8 am. To my surprise, they took me within a few minutes! There were only two other people there who also walked in without appointments because the LabCorp site wouldn't schedule them properly. The front desk person, who was also the phlebotomist, was rude and seemed to be the only employee working there. It was a mess!
To make matters worse, I got a bill from Blue Cross denying my claim for the blood work I had done there. They said I was responsible for a $646 bill! I called BC and they looked into it. It turns out that LabCorp had submitted my claim to the wrong insurance company. What a total fail for LabCorp on every count!
Unfortunately, I have to keep using them until I'm eligible for Medicare in 2 years. But if you have another choice, don't use them!
LabCorp Review: Unprofessional and Discriminatory Behavior by Employees
I had a really bad experience with LabCorp a while back. I used to work for them when they were still called Roche, and my boss, Gloria Anderson, was a real piece of work. She was always rude and sarcastic, and she seemed to take pleasure in humiliating people, especially if they were gay like me.
I worked as a courier for LabCorp, and I was always on time, dressed well, and took my job seriously. But for some reason, Gloria never seemed to like me. And when she found out I was gay, things got even worse.
One day, one of Gloria's colleagues, a guy named Pat who was also a gay hater, decided to sabotage my work by hiding some test kits and paperwork that I was supposed to deliver to a medical office in Dallas. That night, Gloria put the paperwork in my basket with the other paperwork, making it look like I had missed it. When the medical office complained, Gloria called me into her office and accused me of being incompetent and stupid. She yelled at me for several minutes, wrote me up, and told me I was on thin ice.
Later that day, I found out from a friend in the office that Gloria and Pat had planned the whole thing in her office. I was so angry and hurt by their actions that I decided to quit and find a better job.
It's really frustrating to think that people like Gloria and Pat are working in the medical field, where people's lives and health are at stake. LabCorp needs to do a better job of screening their employees and making sure that they treat everyone with respect and professionalism. People rely on LabCorp to get accurate and timely results for their medical tests, and they shouldn't have to deal with this kind of nonsense.
Overall, I would not recommend LabCorp to anyone. If you're looking for a reliable and trustworthy medical testing company, there are plenty of other options out there. Don't waste your time or money with LabCorp.
