vw golf 7
I took my car to VW Arcadia for a 60000 kilo's.My husband went to fetch the car. When he drives it was cutting.I called them they said we should bring it back, they broke my cabion, the roof of the car was dirty and when we dropped it it was clean. Then we took the car yesterday they then found out that the coins plugs have burnt. They say we have to collect the car the following day as they do not have any stock. The following day they called and said they replaced the coin plugs but after test driving the car they experienced the same problem.
My concern in this matter I took my car to Vw Arcadia service department it was in a good condition. So now they messed with it all I want is another car with the same specs as I am afraid. What if that car hives me problems in a near future
bad service and lies
I took my car to VW Menlyn on the 07/01/2016 and stated that when I brake there is a noise and shuddering and my steering will shakes when I hit the brakes. I picked it up and the service provider guaranteed me that the noise and shuddering is gone and the car is fixed. He said they have changed my brake pads, and that my ECU bracket is broken but they held it together with something to make it stable. He said the shuddering was due to the broken ECU bracket. I then asked if that is not a temporary solution? that what would be a more permanent solution? I asked why did they not replace the bracket. Seeing that I did not even know what an ECU bracket is he told me it is not sold alone but as a unit and that there is nothing he can do. Upon leaving the place I called VW Midrand and asked how much an ECU bracket cost, they asked for my Vin number and gave me the price. I asked if it is sold individually and they said yes. I then lodged a complain with customer service to which VW Menlyn replied that the bracket is not covered under my maintenance and warranty plans but my question is 1. Why was I lied to and told I cannot buy an ECU bracket 2. Why was I not told when fetching my car that the ECU bracket is not covered by the plan I have 3. If my brake pads are changed why is there still a noise when I brake my car 4. If the shuddering was due to the ECU bracket that is "fixed", then why is there still shuddering when I hit the brakes and why is my steering wheel shaking when I hit the brakes My car is still in the same condition as I took it in. VW has the tendency to tell clients that are under service plan and warranty that whatever issue they have is not covered. Why are we made to take all of this plans and get nothing out of them in return? It is really frustrating to pay for something that you were told "oh mam if you have a problem with your clutch or your brakes you will be covered" but when the time comes for them to change those things you are told "oh you are a bad driver, your clutch or brakes are worn out due to negligence." My car is at more than 58 000 kilometres and has a noise when I brake and that is still not good enough for VW to change my Discs but I bet just after 60 000 kilo's when my service plan has expired they will tell me the discs need to be changed. I am an extremely disappointment customer and hope to sell my car and never drive VW again. I might be a nobody but you have lost a client.
new jetta 2015 1.6 ds
I purchased a new VW Jetta DSG 2015 at VW UMhlanga Rocks on Wednesday last week. After I took possession of the car, I discovered that when you drive it, the doors were not locking automatically and also when you unlock the door, it was unlocking all doors including the boot. When you drive it once you reach the speed of 20 km/h it supposed to automatically lock all doors. When you outside and unlock it, it supposed to open only the driver's door not all doors. I smsed my Sales person who advised to bring it to the service centre and it was sorted out on Sutarday 27;11;2015. On Tuesday I discovered an alarming problem, I was driving it at a low speed alone on the road, the red light came on with a message {gearbox overheated please stop} it happened for about 10 minutes and disappeared. I sent sms to my sales person who advised me again to bring it to VW. Surprisingly when I got there, I was told he resigned couple of days ago. I started run around until I so a technician that I know, who spoke with the other lady who referred me to New car sales manager by the name Craig. I explained my story to him and he took me to the front to try and get someone who could assist me. I asked Craig if I could change my car for manual, his answer was{ no because you signed a contract}. I asked him about the trial period or cool off period because it was within 7 days, his answer{I never heard of that in my life, you can't buy a house now and say you do not like it the next day, we have to fix your car it is still under warranty}. I asked him to give me that in writing, his answer{you mentioned 7 days trial or cool off period to me, you must give me in writing not me, I am not a lawyer}. It was a shock of my life time that a new car sales manager can talk to the customer like that. I wanted to change to manual because I had that some DSG cars have transmission overheat problem which I was already experiencing on my new car before 7 days was over. I am like a person who driving a second hand car, How can a new be fixed trice within 7 days. I signed a contract, yes, but, did I have a choice when I wanted a new car. Now, how can he used the contract signing as a defence when I need assistance. To me it was like, he was saying seat with your problem we will do whatever we like, you have no choice now you signed a contract, that faulty car is yours now not ours. But, you can not believe if I say it happened that I went upstairs just looking around cars that were on the floor and I saw papers pasted on the cars at the same VW dealership, bearing that one of the benefit of buying a VW car is a 7 day exchange benefit, the samething that Craig at VW UMhlanga Rocks said to me he never heard and I should give him a proof in writing. WHY I WAS TREATED LIKE THAT BY THE MANAGER. Even after a guy by the name of Shaun has finished with my car, Craig a manager did not take an initiative by coming to me to find out I have been assisted to my satisfactory. Yesterday the car was with them and they pointed out the wrong settings on the computer box which they promised me it was fixed, but this afternoon the same red warning light came back again. I need to take my time, waist the kms and my petrol driving to them again, please bear in mind that this is my 8th day with this brand new car.
defective car less than 3months /lied to by sales person/bad service.
Good day Please help I am now driving with a defective car that puts my life at risk. Dealership: McCarthy VW DAS AUTO DURBAN DATE of purchase: 19 August 2015 2015 TSI Salesman: poovan Upon purchasing the vehicle 2015 TSI my beautiful new car(which may I add was approved in 3days) where I received numerous calls from my salesman stating that I’m the luckiest chic cause I’m receiving all of these fancy extras which may I add some of these come with standard ! But being the typical chic, how could I ever pass up this deal? Right! When processing the deal the extra that was mentioned was and I quote “RUN FLATS” NOW…I don’t know much about cars or tyres but I have heard of run flat tyres and I know how safe they make your car so this again gave me the confidence in this deal .on the day of PICK UP, I noticed that my R230 000 + CAR did not have mud flaps like most people I was most shocked! So I posed the question and I quote with 4witnesses “why does this car not have mud flaps and so expensive?’’ (Salesman answer) ‘’I will take off your Run flats and give you mud flaps’’ ISSUE ONE NO RUNFLATS was ever put! Instead he says he fitted it with run flat bands and explained to my parents yet they both where singing the same run flat tyres story as me! Within the first two weeks of purchase I noticed that my car ride didn’t feel good so I decided to check my tyre pressure to my surprise the tyre was losing pressure on the passengers front and drivers rear, so I filled and just assumed its normal, few weeks later I noticed the same story, now I am filling tyre pressure once a week, My story in a nutshell…my car is 2 months all I have a clutch problem of it gripping! ...touch screen freezing! ...and my car upon start has a strange vibration for a few seconds!...not to mention my front passenger tyre and drivers rear tyre is losing pressure! TWO TYRES REALLY?! Unacceptable! SO I ATTEMPTED to resolve my issues ….i called my salesman on numerous channels yet no response, including his house phone!, so plan B I called VW to speak to a manager sales manager was unavailable 1st 3 calls, finally I insisted on speaking to someone and got the service manager shay …he listened to my story and basically told me he would assist only with my clutch problem but he will explain to Angelo who is the sales manager on the rest who will return my call he also told me that the manager had just walked into the room so I assumed I will receive a call right away…NOT! 1hour and 30mins passed so I decided so call back …when I finally got to speak to the guy he apologised for not returning my call due to a meeting SO I GUESS A MEETING IS MORE IMPORTANT than A CUSTOMER who is driving around with a defective car ….right? After 10mins of apologies and going in circles, I insisted my car be picked up from my office and a courtesy car be given witch was agreed …he then goes on to tell me my tyres could be due to impact ? Or a stud? …so now how can it be caused by impact when there’s no damage to my wheel or rim …and a stud? He basically gave me all the reasons it’s my fault for two tyres on the either sides and then has the nerve to say we will look into pricing for new tyres! On a two month old car! DAY two …I received a call from my salesman miraculously after 4days I understand there was an Indian holiday yesterday but the pervious days are not included in this excuse! And the question was posed to me if I couldn’t get a hold of him why did I not come to his house?. He then goes on to tell my he didn’t promise me run flat tyres and he claimed to say Run flat bands…my reaction was what is that?He then claims to have explained to my father, who after I called to confirm with had the exact reaction I had!...the guy goes on to tell me VW does not do run flats and this is only done by BMW! So I guess I should have purchased BMW right? The salesman showed up with the courtesy vehicle telling me I need to sign documents to leave this vehicle with me which states, if anything happens to this vehicle there is an access of R20 000 which I will have to pay …WHAT THE HELL!? Where is your business insurance? Disappointing! he then proceeds to call a manager call dale (assistant manager) who is the most pompous guy I have ever spoken to he wasn’t even giving me a chance to explain that the sales manager Angelo did not notify me of any documentation I will have to sign once again! …their stories have changed. I repeatedly asked the manager dale on the phone if he is taking the decision to not give me the car and leave me with a defective car which he agreed the car will not be left with me if I did not sign the R20 000 access agreement. So now I am left with a defective car that puts my life in risk! I could clearly see I’m not wining with these guys so my fiancé decided to step in and every time he wanted to speak to the dealership principle we kept getting other managers seems to us this incident was trying to be sorted before higher management got involved . DAY three of bad service and fighting: car was fetched and “claimed to be sorted out, may I add that the air-conditioning broke upon pick up! THIS IS A JOKE! My tyres are not fixed apparently as per the words from the salesman and I quote “your tyres are defective but you could have drove over something or hit a pavement’’ drove over something that doesn’t show damage? Or hit a pavement but no damage to my brand new rim? What the hell?! I have asked for a copy of my pricing break down, nothing received! May I add I overheard the sales man and the lady at VW debit as to where the copy of my log book was …STANDARDS REALLY?no job card was provided on the things looked at or fixed, instead a service man just handed me the keys and said ‘’ALL FIXED UP’’ LATER TO FIND! They pumped my tyre to 2.8 which is dangerous to a tyre that states it should be 2.5 VW is a trusted brand which is now tarnished; my fiancé has left the dealership principle shawn stevens numerous messages to call him back! Still no response
bad service and lies

We always use hatfield but decided to service at menlyn due to location. Serviced our vehicle there. Booked service 48 h in advance.Tow truck took it in at 8am due to brakes that failed. Rang them at 12pm. They said " no one has attended to problem yet". I asked a service manager to call me.Still waiting for that call... I rang again 16h40. After I was put on hold for 15min. I was told that no one has attended to our vehicle yet. And they will call me back. They rang me back at 17:15 and advised me that everyone has left. My vehicle was there the whole day without even a service consultant!THE MOST TERRIBLE SERVICE!
pathetic service
I bought a Polo TDI at Silver Oaks about three months ago and from the start I was lied to most of the time. It started when I was told Standard bank approved my finance and the contract was requested but "their system was off line". I waited, get this, 4 days for my bloody contract which was infact apporved by Wesbank! Then the proverbial hit the fan, after less than a week the service light came on, which means the service was never done and then this brings me to the fact that the so called "80 point check" was never done, AND I PAID FOR IT! The front wheels are worn out, the rear wealbearing needs to be replaced urgently, the windscreen was left badly cracked and the list goes on and on. The fast forward and skip buttons on the radio were "ordered" when I collected the car, still waiting... I never received my contract, I was told to call the bank. The licence expired more than 2 months ago, paid for a new one and quess what, still waiting...
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I have been reporting that my radio is malfunctioning since 15000km service even now I am 90000 and is still not fixed. McCarthy Vw is failing me big time.
