Received incorrect flagstone pavers. Big hassle!
Back on June 23rd, 2022, we ordered 250 Sienna Flagstone pavers. Total cost being $483.08. We also paid on that same date 120.20 to have them shipped to our home.
They were delivered on Saturday June 25th, 2022, I believe. They were driven into our garage via forklift by the delivery company. The pallets were shrink-wrapped and intact. The June weather was very hot, temperatures exceeding 100 degrees and + with in heat index. My husband is approaching 70 years of age and could not even think about attempting to lay the patio stones in the excessive heat.
Once the weather got a little cooler, mid 80'S he started to unload the stones off the pallets and proceeded to lay them down to see how the pattern worked and such, ground leveled and such. The further into the pallet he got and the more stones he laid, we noticed many different color variations, most of them being a red colored flagstone. The variation was/is not a good look but at this point the first pallet was temporarily laid down.
Time to start the next pallet of stones, once he loosened the top of the pallet and pullet back the shrink wrap, guess what? NO Red colored stoned on this pallet. So, at this point we did not have enough stones to continue or compete the patio with what we were sent the most of/red color! LIVID!
I called and talked to the building materials manager and explained the situation, I sent pics via e-mail, after a couple days he sends an e-mail back telling me after further investigation we DID receive the correct. OH MY, I e-mailed him back and said what investigation? They did not come out and see the array of colors we were sent, they just basically accused me of being a liar in my eyes.
So, next step, I called and talked to the store manager (one of them). Name of that individual can be discussed when this matter is addressed. This person first tells me that we will have to bring them all back (guess what I said) That is not going to happen! we are both on the elderly side of life and that this was not our fault and that is definitely not happening, they said my husband and I are going to have to restack all these stones back onto the pallets and shrink wrap them. 😡
After numerous e-mails, phone conversations and [censored]ing, the manager says he will come out and shrink wrap the pallet that was all different than the red ones. Keep in mind I did NOT order red. Since we had the most of them, I sacrificed what I really wanted and said we would settle for the red ones.
I was napping when he and one of his associates came to our home to shrink wrap the pallet. I could hear them, and they were out there way too long to be shrink wrapping one pallet, it wasn't even totally un-wrapped, just the top and when we saw they were all just a concrete color we did not un-wrap the rest of it.
We still have some that we have to haul up there in my Trax and exchange for the reddish tone ones. Plus, we need about 30 more, which we will have to make 2 trips to haul here.
This is such a hassle and inconvenience to us, they should offer those extra that we need at NO COST, and they should deliver them to us for free for ALL of the INCONVENIENCE we have endured. NOPE, no compensation for us after all of this and it is still on-going until we get all stones to match.
Sorry for the length of this, can't make a long story short on this one, details needed.
Very dissatisfied with the outcome, so writing to the higher up/owner I hope to ask for compensation for all of the trouble this order from them has caused to us.
Desired outcome: We need stones exchanged; need approx. 30 more to complete job. The least they could do is comp the 30 extras to complete the patio in the color I DID NOT want to begin with. Live up to your motto, "Dedicated to Service & Quality".
Battery Core Charge
I was charged a $10.00 core fee Per battery purchased. I purchased two (2) batteries. I will get this money back when I return the batteries. I asked them to remove the charge because I did not plan on returning the batteries to Menards, as this would be a sixty (60) mile round trip to complete.
I did not purchase the old batteries from Menards, I own them. When I purchased the new batteries, I did not purchase them from Menards, nor did I pay a core charge on them.
I have the right to take them to the recycling center of my choice without penalty.
Menards is not only charging me $10.00 per battery for property that I own but also charging me sales tax on said owned property that I have already paid sales tax on.
I have a recycling center not two miles from my house that will give me more per battery than Menards.
If I bring both batteries back to Menards, I will get $10.00 per battery back.
As I live more than thirty (30) Miles from the store so this will cost me a little over $7.00 in fuel that they will not reimburse bringing my cash back to $3.00 for the 1st battery.
If I drive not even two miles to the recycling center, I will get $15.00 to $20.00 per battery, using less than a gallon of fuel so would only be down a little over $2.00.
If I just take the batteries to the local recycling center, I am then I am being penalized by Menards, by being forced to pay them for my own property.
Desired outcome: Refund of core charge and illegally charged taxes.
I purchased 99bundles of Castlebrook Black Shadow shingles
After carrying about 25 bundles onto house roof and beginning work one of my alert workers found wrong color of shingles intermixed in with the proper shingles. I returned 17 bundles of wrong color shingles and asked for the store manager for help. This process wasted at least 5 hours of labor. I asked the store manager if he could reimburse my cost or give me a in store credit.
He said he has no authority to do that.
In the end I sorted through every bundle and ended up returning for exchange around 40 bundles making three trips with my car as my trailer was full,of old shingles. It looks to me like the pallets of shingles came from supplier with mixed color shingles as the two pallets were stacked perfectly.
I have at least 12 hours of labor and three 32 mile round trips from my work site
Desired outcome: A fair reimbursement via store credit or other means of reimbursement .I purchased product from the Angola In. store. This entire process cost me at least $800.00 in labor and travel. Thank you very much.Lynn

Hi I purchased your head lamp on aug 15 at Menards I used it 2 days it needed a charge I plugged it in the on off switch blinked green and red then it stoped blinking all together now it won't charge it will light up but it won't turn off I plug it In 2 the charger then it will turn off same thing every time I have the coast xph25r use it every day I want Ed the xpr25 but thay were ether sold out or I dident c it . It was funny because Menards dident have all your products grouped 2gether so I may have missed it anyway please fix my light I'm lost without it thank u I would rather have the xph25 I will pay the difference thanks again

Defective freezer
I purchased a freezer in November of 2021 which proved defective within weeks, I contacted the manufacturer for a warranty repair. I was promised a repair within a week...after one month the manufacturer declined to repair and authorized a product return.
So In April of 2022 I began contacting Menard's Corporate and the camby IN store to start the return process. Instead of working to solve my issue, I was ignored, told to purchase an upgraded unit or just insulted.
Finally I came to the camby store asking to have the product which has been defective since day one Menards sold me to be picked up for return, where Kevin, the store manager told...tough crap sucker...you have to bring it in or rent our truck to return the defective piece of junk we sold you! He told me, you need to bring it in, and we will credit your credit card.
I brought in the defective freezer (which ruined hundreds of dollars of food) and was told I could only get an in store credit (contrary to what Kevin said 24 hours before). I DO NOT WANT A STORE CREDIT FOR A STORE I NEVER WANT TO PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM BECAUSE OF KEVIN!
Kevin repeatedly refused to TRY to do anything to assist me...this is the worst "customer service" I have ever experienced in 66 years!
Desired outcome: full refund (NOT INSTORE CREDIT). reimbursement for delivery return expenses, recoup for damages sustained by menards unloading staff and Appoligies from Kevin at the Camby IN Store
Building center
I worked with the building center to order a chain link fence. The fence consists of 88 poles. I told the salesman that I needed something hefty as we get 70 mph winds regularly and sometimes can have snow drifts 10-15 feet tall. We went with the 2 3/8” end posts for the entire fence. Last week we got them all cemented in. Went to install the fence tops so I could run the pipe thru them, and they ordered the 1 5/8” tops. I called menards and I didn’t get an I’m sorry I got we don’t sell those pieces you will have to go elsewhere. Mind you I was hung up on twice trying to talk to building dept.
Desired outcome: I would like menards to pay for the replacement parts if I can find them or pay to have someone come out and dig the fence out and replace the poles
Rebates
I just moved to Louisville, KY and thought that the Menards rebate program was great. They fail to mention that it is really a store credit, but with fixing up the house, I could use the extra credit. They have you mail in the original receipt, so I kept track of the rebate amounts that I was mailing in. From 5/31/22 to 7/15/22 I mailed in $348.20 worth of rebates. I bought a lot of materials including a new hot water heater, and I have all receipts. There were a few small returns, but nothing major to affect the rebates by much. The supposed 2 checks that were recently mailed add up to $53.17 which is a huge difference from what I was expecting.
Desired outcome: Please send me my refunds.
Wrong price tag above totes
Went to the Menards at 2601 N. Clybourn today to get some totes I noticed that all the price tags said $12 and some change. I tried to find a worker but there was really no one on the floor to even help me when I ask if these were the right prices. Went up to the cashier and ask what the price was and when I showed him the picture he contacted management. When I showed management the picture of the pricing and told him he can go back there and see that all the price tags said the same price he said there was nothing he can do too bad. He couldn’t lower the pricing even though clearly he showed all the tags at $12 and some change. When asked what else can you do because that was false advertising he literally stood quiet and walked back behind customer service desk. The management here has never been helpful at all
Desired outcome: Learn to talk to customers and actually see that the pricing was wrong and honor it
Special order patio door built incorrectly.
We ordered a Jeldwen patio door on May 5 2022, order arrived at store in June, had our contractor install door July 7, 2022. Door could not be completely installed because it was built incorrectly, the sliding glass sash is too large to properly close and seal, other gaps in door. Filed a complaint with Jeldwen Warrwnty department on July 7 2022. Still waiting for a technician. E-mail said technician would possibly contact us Auguhst 3 2022 but this is subject to change. I called Menards building materials manager to ask if they could assist with getting help, no reply from him yet.
We are at the point now that we are thinking about taking the door back out and returning to Menards and getting a correctly fitting door from another company.
Desired outcome: This is a $1,191.21 door and isn't operable as is, We would like a call back or return the door to Menards with a full refund with NO restoking fee as it was built incorrectly.
Delivery service
August 10, 2022. 9:22 Am, ordered & paid 4 concrete + delivery. Was told would get this afternoon. I was not home, and my gardener was getting tired of waiting so about 3:30-3:38, my gardener Larry Garth called and spoke to Devon, who informed Larry that the driver was still in Storm Lake, Iowa with delivery issues.
I got home about 4:20 & since we believed the delivery would not be today, Larry went home, and I went to take a nap!
On the delivery agreement it states: Delivery Company will notify you once they are on their way!
The driver Sam called from my driveway starting @ 4:38, 4:40, 4:41, 4:42, and at 4:43pm finally leaves voicemail stating: "have attempted to reach you 5 times, your pallet of concrete is now in the driveway, and we are no longer responsible for it".
As soon as I found this voicemail, called and told him I would be right out. Where he refused to move concrete into my garage without paying another $50.00 to him!
He added Devon on-line and I told Devon I would pay the 50.00 only if Menards reimbursed me, as I already paid a fee of 89.00 + fuel charge of $3.98. for delivery here in Spencer.
Sam Screams at me, that he would NEVER deliver to my house again! So why didn’t he do his job as the delivery agreements states? Why didn't he call and notified that he was on his way, instead of calling once on delivery site? Had Sam done his job as stated on the Delivery Agreement. We would not be having this conversation!
I would like this delivery driver dealt with, needs to learn better tone of voice and customer service!
I called and spoke to Matt since Menards General Manager Dale was gone for the day! He will have Sam come back in morning after calling first so that my gardener can get over to my home to move this pallet of concrete inside the garage where it will be protected from the elements, like it was supposed to be in the first place! Matt also stated there would be no additional charge for Sam’s return.
So why didn't the delivery driver do this before leaving instead of being a jerk and wanting another $50.00?
At one point Sam had Devon on speaker and handed the phone to me since having trouble hearing and Sam screams: “give me my phone or I will call the police”, Devon screams: “ give him his phone back” and I yelled that I already had!
I also believe that Devon needs to coached on good customer service, as he could have had Sam, move the pallet instead of forcing me to have to call back into the store, to get this matter resolved!
Key service
The key kiosk in Menards stores does not allow the 11% off and their commercials say everything in the store is 11% off!
This is false advertising. Menards advertising on tv and on their signs all over the store say 11% off everything, not some things.
This has gone on ever since they got a key kiosk on there stores.
Menards needs to make the kiosk 11% off or remove from stores.
Please resolve immediately.

Rebate not received on 2nd Air Conditioner
On 4/28/22 I purchased a15,000 BTU sent in for rebate and received it with no problems then on 6/12/22 I purchased a 14,000 BTU sent in for that rebate and as yet have not received my rebate.I'd like to know why? Mild concussions cause permanent damage: Even mild concussions should not be taken lightly. Neurosurgeons and other brain injury experts emphasize that although some concussions are less serious than others, there is no such thing as a minor concussion.

Details of Incident
The injury occurred on: October 9, 2020, In the carpet area by the $24.00 area rugs. The injury arose from; A cardboard roll that carpet and other larger flooring material is shipped to the store, it somehow fell off of a shelving 15-25 feet from above me. And hit me on top the head. 2 employee’s where walking by and said to fill out an accident form. Which I did and was given a card to contact the business office as they handle all claims.
After the blow to the head I went to the ER on Oct. 10th and then I followed up with my doctor who advised me to be careful for the next few weeks but most concussions should resolve within 6 months, with most of my headaches having subsided. The biggest issue I have at this point is my soft neck tissues acting up and I need to ice or hot pack as needed. In April 2021 I notified Menards that I was advised to go to Physical Therapy, so I reached out to the company who ok’s this and after 3 calls I heard nothing so I by passed Physical Therapy on my neck waiting until I heard something back, otherwise the cost is going to be $340-$445 the first visit and every 15 minutes the charge is $105 to $250 per 15 minutes which I don’t have the funds to pay for this up front so I have included those fee’s in the amount of this claim which also includes the cost of pain and suffering (I also stopped working my 2nd job the end of May and I am trying to go back to work the last week in Aug or first week in Sept).

That Menards further understands and acknowledges that Charlotte Reinartz may have suffered injuries or complications unknown at the present, that the settlement amount was determined taking into consideration this possibility, and that Charlotte is releasing Menards from these unknown claims.
For the above noted consideration, the parties to this Agreement further agree not to make a claim or take proceedings against any other person or corporation which might claim contribution or indemnity under the provisions of any statute or otherwise.
It is declared that the terms of this settlement are fully understood; that the amount or type of consideration stated is the sole consideration for this Agreement and that the sum is accepted voluntarily for the purpose of making a full and final compromise, adjustment and settlement of all claims for injuries, losses and damages resulting or which may result from the above described incident.

On 7/6/2022 I purchased 13 shadow box fence panels # 1731146 also I purchased 10 bags of Instant post concrete to be delivered on 7/14/2022. On 7/13/2022 at 11:26am I get a text [not a call] informing that my order is on hold because of a Menards quality issue. Less than 24 hours notification. So my contractor had to be paid because he loss work also. This cost me $250.00 on top of the aggravation of getting a refund and time lost. I feel Menards should incur this lost.

Refund from decking you didn't have!
I purchased 648.96 in decking, which you didn't have enough of (only half a skid) which was junk. I went to customer service for a refund when my husband was still in the yard. She said they would refund my rebate first, then my debit card (165.81) I paid 1000.00 in cash, then the rest in cash. My bank account is still charged the 165.81, I called them back and they said it could take 8 days for a refund. I didn't leave the store and I have to wait 8 days for a refund or the bank releases it. I will shop at Lowe's for the remaining decking that we need!

Troy bilt weed eater
Bought a weed eater on June 26 tried it on June 28 tried everything it wouldn’t start took it back the lady said if it had gas in it i would have to take it to a service dealer which sounds ridiculous anyway took it to them after 20 minutes got it going told me to use a pre mixed fuel took it home did what he said and it won’t start. But the Brand New Set is the one that came with two chairs damaged. On the enclosed Description/Warranty card, they say they will replace the damaged parts, such as the base section on one, and the back section on the other. As directed, I took photos, and emailed this information to their printed email address on the enclosed card. The email kept coming back Undeliverable. The phone number printed on their card rings through to a voice message, which repeats their email address, and says to leave a message — but their voicemail has been full all week. It feels very bogus to me. I want to follow the printed protocol to get my replacement parts, but... how? Please assist me. Thank You!
Desired outcome: replacement/delivered. The arm is cracked clear thru, dangerous to sit on. I want your vendor to stand by their warranty. Your form does not recognize the format of my photos - they worked fine sending by email.
Toilet seats
At 0953 on 06/28/22 was shopping at the Menards Hastings Way, Eau Claire Wi location. Upon checking out and walking to car, thought price was rather high. Went through receipt and noticed toilet seat was 27.99 and self marked at 16.99 and some change. A manager and another employee we’re trying to locate seat. From customer service I walked to dept to see if maybe I misread price. Older gentleman told me “No not even close and the manager blamed miss-pricing on customers switching tags. I have never been so upset about Menards people, but this takes the cake. I’m not shopping for the blame game on your stores arrogance. I highly suggest you retrain that manager. I personally would have FIRED him. Needless to say, turned down his price reduction and returned product! Never will I return to this store. Thanks for your time!
