Mr Price Group / MRP doors closing lunchtime

Yesterday 29 May 2018 - Mall @ Reds, The clothing department closed the doors because of too little staff but at least 10 staff members walked out. What en who do they need more if they always have only 1 or 2 tills open. I go there alot and there never more than 2 people at the till. So there was at least 8 in the shop left over. Why do they then close the door and leave. It was 12h10 when they left the shop

Mr Price Group / MRP pink girls toddler bed

Good day,

In 2017, I can't remember the month. We bought a pink toddler bed for my daughter from Mr Price Home - Pavilion Branch. The bed cost R3300.00 and the mattress cost us R800.00 We are very disappointed about the quality of the bed. Three months ago the middle leg of the bed broke in half and this was a surprise to us, as our daughter barely sleeps in her bed, she always climbs into our bed. Since the wood has split in half, we don't let her sleep on the bed anymore. Also the left side of the bed is splitting. Hence, using the bed could damage it even further. We now find ourselves in a situation, where we have paid quite a bit of money for a bed we can't even use. I would like to request some sort of compensation for the money I spent on the bed, as I feel it was a lot of money to spend on a bed that didn't even last a year.

Mr Price Group / MRP butlers trays

Date of Incident - 25/05/2018

The item on display had a price of R229 so I decided to buy 2 trays. When taking two boxes I realized that they were priced differently. The one was for R229 and the other one for R249. This is a total misrepresentation of what a person pays when getting to the till. I know its only a R20 difference but the display item was priced at R229. I then insisted on paying the display price, when I was told that I can only get the one tray for that price and I should pay the other one at R249.
I then disagreed with the salesperson and he very sarcastically asked me if I wanted the one on display? That tray was broken!

This all happened at the Mr Price home - Lynnwood Ridge Pretoria. The manner in which a person is treated is disgusting.

Mr Price Group / MRP clothing account

Good day,

My domestic has had a very nasty thing happen to her. She only buys clothing from your store for her children whom are based in Hammanskraal. She budgets according to credit given to her and pays R900.00 per month. However, the last statement she received she has been charged for buying air time to the value of R700.00 which she has never entertained.

She has gone to the police to get an affidavit to this effect sent through relevant documentation to support her case however no response.

This is an enormous additional expense not incurred by herself clearly a scam and therefore should not be forced to pay this amount

Mr Price Group / MRP service by the management

Blue Route, Tokai, Mr Price Sports. I went to buy a gun gaurd, I noticed a assign that said take 2 for R70. So I chose my two, went to the cashier. Waited cause there seem to be a problem with the manager and a customer. Scanned the gaurds and the special didn't show up, so the guy explained to me it was only for the clear ones. He called the manger to remove one from the till, I said to the manager I thought it was R70 for the two. She just ignored me and kept saying no no no no... I just explained it was confusing and she treated me like I was an [censored], refused to listen to me and walked away while I was talking and never looked at me once. Terrible customer skills, I wasn't even trying to force the R70 special I was just noting it was a confusing sign. This type of service is far to common now days and I'm sick of it. She walked away and the guy rang me up but by then I was too pissed off so I left. The young cashier had to apologize on behalf of his manager whose name is Charmaine. Won't be going back to that store, would rather go to Sportsmans warehouse and pay more for the same thing. Her name was Charmaine. Just ruined my experience there.

Mr Price Group / MRP mr price mobile faulty device

Good day,

It is with great discontent I am writing this mail. Let me start at the beginning, first of a mrp mobile consultant contact's me to sell me a mobile device. Ater our telephonic converstation I agreed to the contract on the 20/04/2018. I was given a 3-5 work day promise for delivery. I only recieved a phone call for delivery on the 6th of May, go figure. Anyway delivery could not be done because the package was send to the cape and I stay in mpumalang a. This is not too much of an issue, i do understand that stuff like this happen form time to time. So I received my phone and a smartwatch on the 10th of May, started it up, at first the handset and watch was working fine, so i received the package thursday afternoon, afcourse I was excited to try the new phone and watch . Worn the watch for 1 and a half day, friday night when i got into bed i realised there is moisture drops accumelating on the inside of the watch, besides the fact that it is suppose to be waterproof. Since i noticed this friday evening I reported it the next day. The phone has a 3 second delay switching between screens, for instance if I go out of whatsapp to go to my phone book, i am stuck looking at a white screen for 3-5 seconds before anything happens. It did not do this the first day. I am not satisfied with either of the products but even worse is MR Price Mobile's service consultant. Received a call today, the consultant told me i should have reported this on the 11th! I only received it on the 10th, and i know my rights i have 7 days to report a fualty divice. Not to mention the fact that i have not received even as much as a copy of any contract. No e-mail, not contract with the delivery, nothing.

I sure hope you guys can put me at ease and sort out this mess, i am very dissapionted in this devision of mr price. I though since we are year long HAPPY customers of MR Price, i will give it a try. This far it was a uge mistake.

Mr Price Group / MRP having to submit both my id number and cell number when returning an item.

I went to Mr Price Northgate to return a jersey. I had my purchase docket. I was asked for both my ID number and my Cell number. I told the attendant that I was not comfortable with giving this information. He told me this was a new protocol. The lady and gentleman standing next to me also agreed that we should NEVER be asked to supply such personal information. I then asked to speak to the manager (Ruan) and brought my concern to his attention. He told the attendant that he should not have asked for my ID number as i had my docket. The point is somebody out there now has access to my information. I am truly not happy about this and wish I had not actually given him my info. To top it all, when I checked my purse at the next store, he had only given my R60 of my R160 refund. Guess I won't be shopping at Mr Price Northgate again.

I bought a Navy blue & White stripe track top (Hoody) at Mr Price Walvis Bay branch 810 on 23/03/2018. I always hand wash any new items separately before wearing same and then the blue stripes faded. I returned same the next week and showed it to the cashier who then went to the branch manager Ms. Maria Simbo. She then told me that she cannot do anything about this matter and need to speak to the area or regional manager Ms. Theresia Harases who need to make a decision on how to assist me. I left my cellphone number for them to contact me and days later the same cashier called me to inform me that the area/regional manager said they will unfortunately not be able to exchange or refund me whereby I asked what was the reason why they will not be able to assist me. The cashier said that that was the only reason that she gave him whereby I told him that this was not a valid reason and that she must contact me herself with a more reasonable reason. Till today no response from her. Where does customer service fits in to this story. Isn't it a company's motto to keep a client happy and provide excellent customer service? MR P does not send banking details via an email anymore, so to pay an order I ordered I had to load another order, and made payment with that details..

Me: Good day I loaded the incorrect payment reference, your website is stupid, it does not send banking details or reference anymore, so I didn't have a clue what the bank details are, and loaded a new order to get the banking details. Mr Price Group / MRP most poor service I have ever received

I went online on Monday to apply for a MRP account, the same afternoon I took my documents to my nearest MRP store which is Gateway Durban, my documents was submitted. the next day i received an sms from Miladys saying i had been conditionally approved for credit with them, upon conducting some research of my own, i found that MRP and Miladys fell under the same group. In all this time there was only 1 time MRP tried to contact me and i was unable to take their call due to me being in a meeting.
that afternoon i went back to the Gateway store to find out why i had received an sms from Miladys and what was my status of my application. i waited 30mins in a line and when i was finally seen to the consultant was very rude and unhelpful, he started to assist another customer while i was still speaking to him and eventually i just walked away, he refused to even look at the sms i received.
i then proceeded to Miladys when they swiftly and respectfully assisted me with my concern.

i was advised to go back to the Gateway MRP store to follow up on the status of my application as Milady's could not assist.

i went to the store today and the consultant at the counter advised me that the guy who deals with accounts is on break and i must come back another time, i asked him if there was anyone else that could assist and i asked for the manager. he then asked me to wait and went in the back to get the manager, the manager who's name is Andile, walks out awhile later, which by this time the consultant waved him down, trying to explain that i was the customer, the manager the n proceeded to say no he would not speak to me and he walked away

i would like to know if MRP being the well established company that it claims to be, supports treating their customers like crap!

Mr Price Group / MRP dining room chair / poor customer service

I returned a dinning room chair to Mr Price Home at Strubens Valley because one of the legs had broken at the joint. I received 4 such chairs as a house-warming gift from my daughter in November 2017. After speaking to three difference sales consultants who seem to show no interest at all, I eventually spoke to a gentleman in the furniture section. He was off-hand and said that, because they no longer stocked these chairs, be could not help. His manner was unpleasant and lacked any concern whatsoever. As he also didn't know the price of the chair, he said he could not give me any store credit or refund. He also said that perhaps he could give me one rand! I found this totally unprofessional and rude. The chair leg broke due to poor workmanship and not wear and tear. The very least this salesperson could have done was to apologise.
I was also told that no furniture is guaranteed for more than a year, even though my chair is only 5 months old! I think this fact should be made known on social media! After sales service is what makes a company reliable.

Yesterday I went into one of your shops with my mum and my sister. We had two workers follow us around and a security guard! I can excuse the workers, but a security guard? Really? We need our privacy too and MRP is a normal shop, it's not like Gucci. How then can I shop when I know that my every move is being monitored? It's about respect for the customer's privacy. We weren't comfortable and that was ridiculous

Mr Price Group / MRP call center agent

Firstly, I made an honest mistake forgetting to pay my installment last month because your app didn't show pay the account option! Now I have flippen terrible agents calling me from the flippen dungeon of doom for collection! They hace no way of speaking yo a loyal customer well what would they know? My account balance is less than 2000 honestly why on earth are your employees so nasty? Teach them manners or watch who you employ because there's a huge difference in being firm and taking charge of your call than being insulting. This agent accused me of twisting her words and saying she forced me to pay. Really? You people assume every customer is terrible. Teach them to treat every customer as an individual man. We're not all rude. Then she had the nerve to tell me clearly I don't speak English? Listen to the call and you can tell I speak better English than her. And just so by the way, that was discrimination and racist because she knew I was colored and immediately asked can she go get an Afrikaans speaking agent. That is unfair discrimination just so by the way. Your call center agents has no feeling or remorse towards others. All customers are different. Should your App have worked I'd have made the payment. Yet they are jumping down my throat for an honest mistake on my side.

Mr Price Group / MRP cell contract

Good day,

I took a contract with MRP Mobile in 2014, and the contract was supposed to end in 2016 but 4 years later am still paying for the same contract, I have called, emailed but nothing have been done, yet they have audacity to send me statement and phone me telling me I owe them.

May this be sorted now it long overdue and am fed up with fighting the consultants that are of no use when they call

Mr Price Group / MRP I have purchased a top with a hood for my grand daughter. it is a grey with silver stars on it.

This dust could have gotten into her eye. I have pictures of the dust on her body as well. I removed the top and I did not take it back to the store cause I do not have my slip. I work for a clothing company and I am a technologist. I work with fabric and for our garments to get to stores we have many tests that are done before it leaves us. The first test should be the fabric test and if it was done correctly this fabric would have failed due to the silver falling off the way this garment. We have orders fail for threads and this is upsetting when you find things like this in store, this garment should be taken off the shelve. It's actually a rip off cause a few washes and all the silver will be out.
I will await a response and I also have the garment with me.

Hoping this is resolved.

Mr Price Group / MRP complaint against mr p collections department

As a long standing client of Mr price (which by the way is the ONLY store account I chose to have- I closed all my other store accounts).
I have always managed my a/c really well, when I made payment I made payment over and above my minimum payment due.

Last year some time I skipped a payment, I then got a call from Mr Price saying that I need not fret, as because of the fact that I always pay
more than what the minimum is (a good payer), those extra amounts will tie me over, one month later I got a call to say I now need
to pay R3600. Needless to say I was now in a panic. I then paid R1800 and made a payment arrangement of what i was then able to pay
for the outstanding balance (amount payable)

From that time I would monthly make a concerted effort to either call in to the MrP call centre (collections) to make arrangements OR I would send
an email (OR BOTH) in order to make payment arrangements.

I was NOT at any stage told that there is a minimum payment due in order for my account NOT to be handed OVER.

Then in January i got a call from ACS saying that my account has been handed over to them for collection on behalf of MrP.
Subsequently my ITC is reflecting a handed over status (Default) and ACS my account is reflecting as 6 months in arrears, as
If I have made no effort to pay, OR did not pay my account as well.

Now on top of everything else I am now being charged monthly fees from ACS, for doing nothing? calling me on behalf of MRP to make arrangements, WHICH I have been doing myself in any case! thinking I am doing the right thing! s

I feel this is really unfair, as from the date I was notified of the arrears amount I have been sticking to the arrangement made either telephonically or
Via email between MrP and myself.
What was the use of making payment arrangements with my creditor( MrP) if my account was going to be handed over in any case and affect my ITC score negatively as well.

This actually just leaves me with a really bad impression of the company itself.

Really disappointed to say the least.

I am not disputing the amount owed to MrP and will be making the necessary payments to settle the a/c and then close it, HOWEVER
I would like for the default status to be removed from my ITC, the payment arrangement that was made between myself and mr Price to remain going forward and the fees billed to my account by ACS to be reversed, because I honestly do not understand why I should be paying an external company for making payments arrangements on my behalf with my creditor as I was doing this myself religiously in any case! - I don't even then understand why you have an internal collection department if the account is handed over even though there is a payment arrangement in place and the customer stuck to the arrangement and did not default on the arrangement either!

REALLY REALLY upset about this whole experience!

Mr Price Group / MRP oak office desk

Good day,

I will hopefully be receiving my third oak office desk from Mr Price online store next week as they had to come and collect the previous two desks because both arrived damaged at my house.

The second desk they delivered clearly shows the woodfiller on the top counter that was used to patch up the damage caused.

This is an absolute disgrace to charge a customer for a product and find that it has had a cheap repair work done to cover up the damage.

Do you guys have no respect in your products or service you deliver.

I will most definitely never support you again, if I wanted a second hand desk I would have gone to a pawn shop and paid a reduced price but to pay a full price for a desk and receive two that are damaged is an absolute disgrace.

Please see attached photos of how my day was ruined by mr price, I need a full refund of my hoody top regardless that I wore it..

In the morning it was a bit chilly so I put on the new top purchased on the 27.03.2018 but later on I decided to take it off and I was a joke around people it had all that white fluffy cotton left on my (identity t. Shirt).. Already in the outside it looked really bad within hours of wearing it..

I want my money back urgently...

Mr Price Group / MRP account payment

Good afternoon my name is Michelle and I am very very upset with the communication barrier that I have had with the customer care department...I opened a account in December last year and made purchases and then I made a payment In January for my "first instalment" I was then contacted by the call centre and they told me that I didn't have a instalment due for the month of January so they will take that cash and transfer those funds for my February instalment...a month or two later I get messages and calls saying that I skipped a payment...I was so upset really...I spoke to a gentlemen that called me from the call centre and told me that he was going to listen to voice recordings of mine where I was told this information...up to today I didn't get any feedback from them besides sending messages saying that I'm ignoring their calls and messages ...I had it now with Mr price seriously...I hope someone can help me solve this issue because it has now caused me to go into arrears which isn't my fault and now I have to pay double the amount which I refuse to pay...someone needs to get back to me ASAP and giv me a explanation and resolve this issue...I'm tired of this [censor] really...I'm going to take this further and I'm not going to leave it like this.

Mr Price Group / MRP order delivery

Hi there,

I hope this mail finds you well.

I placed an order on the 26th March 2018. On your website it does show the timescale of 5-7 working days which is the correct timescale given by the lady who assisted me, Samantha.

However, I raised an alarm because the 7th working day was Friday, 6th April 2018.

Today is the 7th April 2018. And those clothes were bought towards a charity outreach for today. Now as a frequent customer who buys both online and in store, why am I inconvenienced in such a way?

I specifically placed the order then due to your company's continuous good service delivery. I took into consideration the Easter Weekend. But still this has delayed so much (considering this weekend).

The child who is supposed to get this will be disappointed. I feel that your company has failed me dismally this time.

So i went to Mr Price sports in Cradlestone Mall to purchase goods from my acc on the 27th April... the lady on the till told me the systems were offline to purchase on acc. Bcoz i needed the goods that i had purchased to wear the next day, i asked the cashier if it wilp b ohk 4 me to purchase these goods using my cheque card n come with a receipt another day to get a cash refund n repurchase the same goods using my acc? N the lady said its fine...
Today i went there n got assisted my Tshego (cashier) who wasn't sure of my request and called Joyce(manager) 4 assistence n clarity on my request. Joyce listened to my request n told me it is not possible for me to return my goods n get refunded in cash n repurchase the exact same goods using my account😠😠. Wen i questioned her the reason why? She gave me attitude n tild me it is not the law.. i have had the Mr Price account for many years n i have never missed any installment on been in any erreas for the whole period I've had the acc n now this Joyce is simply making it my problem that their systems were down ... i explained to Joyce that i hav the card that i used to Purchase as the card no appears on the receipt n its in my name n i hav the receipt i got wen i purchased with the clothes codes on it n she still didn't help me n she gave me an attitude above all that... Cradlestone Mr Price is a disaster and that manager Joyce is very bad n has no empathy on clients... after i had waited for 4 mins for someone to come help me pay my purchases as no 1 was there on the tills to assist... it's really ridiculous ... i want the settlement amount of this account i want to close it with immediate effect bcoz Joyce clearly doesnt know what client service means
