stealing our money
I logged my claim on the 28th of october 2016 with nedbank for hail damage that happened on the 26th of october 2016. They have sent out 2 assessors to my house. Today is the 18th of november 2016. 4 weeks later.In the meantime it is raining hard and the damages I have is causing more damages due to nedbank delayed responding to my calls. I called more than 6-8 times to follow up and still don’t have answers.
Today only I received feedback from nedbank regarding my claim. To confirm that my claim is rejected!

I’m sorry but this is unacceptable. I am not leaving it here, I will be taking it future with all possible complaints board, ombuds man for banking services everywhere and when all of this is sorted I will cancel with nedbank and ensure that every single person I know does not take insurance with nedbank.
When we purchased the house no assessor came out and checked the house and roof prior to us taking the insurance with nedbank. I feel that nedbank should have given us a report on defects and issues that we as first time buyers need to fix to ensure we are covered and our policy is correct.
Nowhere in any fine print did I sign for terms like this.
After paying 4 year premiums now nedbank decline our claim meaning I have paid 42 months for nothing. One of the roof that nedbank is revering to in the below communication as defective workmanship was a contractor recommended by nedbank consultant and they suggested to pay out the cash for the repairs as nedbank was too busy and due to loads of hail damage claims in 2013 nov now it’s my problem as a customer.
If this was defective workmanship why in the 3 years has that roof never leaked nor the other roof that got damaged now only with the hail weight on the roof in the 4 year that we are living in this house my roofs are leaking only now after this massive hail.
I have proof and photos of the amount of hail that came down on the 26th of october.
I will not accept any cash payout ever again the registered nedbank contractors will come and fix my roofs as we as customers was not at fault here.
unauthorised debit orders and pathetic customer service
I registered for internet banking with nedbank in 2014. The service was a free and I only used it for 3 to 4 months, because I had forgotten my password, I stopped using it. I didn't want to go stand at the queue to reset my internet banking password, "such a brilliant convenience to clients" I don't understand why they don't provide a function to reset passwords on their site, people forget and lose their passwords. I believe the reason people register for internet banking, its because they don't want to stand on queues. From july 2015 nrb debits started going through. But I only started noticing them in november 2015, because I thought they were my normal monthly nedbank fees.In february 2016 I stopped my salary deposits into my account. But the debits kept on going through. They increased at the end of january 2016 from r165 to r322.In july 2016, I deposited r4400.00 because my balance was sitting at around r2000.00. On the 23 july 2016, I went to the southgate branch, in johannesburg, with the hope that I would get my account closed. When I got to the branch, I was told by brent, "i will only close your account, if you allow me to transfer the credit balance to your investment account". I agreed to that because I would have done the same, if it was refunded to me. He then told me he was unable to close my account, because there were nrb charges. I asked who and what is nrb charges, he told me they were charges from the lawyers, he started making calls because he could not provide answers to the questions I prompted. He said: he was contacting customer care centre to find out what were the charges for. Isn't that stupid? And I asked him why did you say they were charges from lawyers? He was then told that the charges were nedbank internet banking charges, he started arguing the the consultant from the other side on the phone. He told the consultant on the other side, that he will not do a reversal, he cannot do a reversal at the branch and reversals are done via head office. I could not believe how arrogant and ignorant he was, at the fact that, I was standing in front him with a query and he disregarded that. He disrespected my situation as client. He called his supervisor, who explained that I was not the first customer with these kind of a query. She instructed him to request an investigation and reversal and get a reference number #[protected] for me and brent will get back to me with the response.
On the 27 october 2016, I received a call from the card division, from a lady called, candice, she told me my account was over drawn. I asked her, wasn't my account resolved? She didn't understand what was I talking about, I relayed my query to her, gave her the reference number #[protected] and she told me it was a branch reference number, she could not anything and I would need to go to the branch to query it. She gave me reference number #[protected]. Who has the time to run around branches of incompetent consultants, who don't see it necessary to do what they get paid for?! On the 14 november 2016, I received a call from recovery department, another lady who I did not get her name, very defensive of how rude she spoke to me, told me that: my query which I relayed to her, "i should go solve my business and stop complaining and I was one in a million clients, who is complaining about nedbank service". I was getting tired and frustrated at having to repeat myself to everyone in different departments of nedbank. I thought nedbank was one of the big 4 banks in south africa and I expected better service than what I was going through.
On the 15 november 2016, I went to the southgate branch again to find out what happened to the query I logged on the 23 july 2016. The consultant who issues out tickets at the door, wanted to refer me to same unprofessional brent, who did nothing about my query. I told him I wanted a branch manager, he told me, he has to escalate my query to the next level, above brent, only if the next level escalation fails to assist me, it will then be escalated to the branch manager. It was a shock to notice that the consultant did not see the urgency in my matter. I got another shock when I was again referred to the telephone, to speak to the card division lady, who confirmed that nothing was done on the ref# [protected] and gladly suggested that she will request another investigation and reversal, the same thing I came to query on the 23 july 2016. Really!? I was issued with another reference number #4703152. I got very angry and frustrated when I found out nothing happened to resolve my query. It was never investigated like they promised, there was no activities picked up under the reference #[protected], no reversal was pending. No one attempted to deal with my situation. It was never an urgent matter to any of the staff members of nedbank, in all departments I came in contact with.
I insisted on wanting to see the branch manager, but no, he or she is not to be seen by clients until all avenues are exhausted, no matter the seriousness of the issue. I was referred to a lady who does sales, I think her surname was williams. She was the only person who seemed interested in my query. She did one thing I did not think of doing. She phoned the department that issued me with a reference number #4703152 and both of us could not believe that the reference number, reflected that I logged a "loan query" what!? Mrs williams had to log another query and she was issued with another reference number #4703899. She was told that I signed up for an nedbank accounting package and I asked her what were my logins for the accounting package and when did I sign up? Can they give a date and prove to me that I agreed to the charges? And they said they will investigate. Which is what they said they were doing on 23 july 2016.
These shows how unprofessional, incompetent, don't care attitudes and poorly trained nedbank staff is.
Mrs williams told me the sla normally takes 4 working days and I should expect my feedback next tuesday the 22 november 2016.
I don't understand, what kind of a company makes its clients run around in circles, instead of attending to the matter. What kind of a company fails to take responsibility through its departments and prefers to shift the blame to other departments? Nedbank needs to invest in a system that enable its staff members to speak the same language, a system where each department can refer to, to see what other departments are doing, if a client has a query. Nedbank departments need synergy. Nedbank needs to invest in its back end system, for synchronisation, this is about your clients.

Money was taken out of my account on the 29th october 2016 in the early hours of the morning. I pay for notification, yet failed to receive notification if i had i could have stopped the +-14 transactions that were taken out. Only in the afternoon of the 30th when i swiped my card to buy my daughter a ice cream my card declined. I called the bank to find out my acc was blocked due to suspected fraud. I re iterate i called nedbank. No one called me after blocking. I lifted the block to acces the last 500 as i am a single mother and need petrol and food. Only for bedbank to take about 9 cross border fee transactions . Leaving me without a cent. I had no petrol to get to school and work or food . I went into nedbank to try sort it out. The fourways branch was offline. Was told they would e mail me. So after no communication i went in everyday for 3 days to be turned away. At no point did they try at another branch or help me in any way. So my case was only handed to the fraud department a week later. I asked to increase my cc limit as i had nothing and all my debit orders bounced (i pay for) and my name is affected. The bank manager said it would be done immediately. I applied and only a week later was declined as my acc was in the minus. (Because of fraud) and so i have been left without money. I have since, not heard a word. Was told i might be lucky in 6 weeks . I have been advised by numerous people that at fnb it takes 3 working days and they refund your money as they have insurance. I understand its fraud. But i am a single mother who has not been able to attend work and now my name is ruined and all my debt in arrears and cant provide for my child. I thought nedbank ask once or some sort of compassion would have been applied.

I have been fighting with my bankwhy my loan debit order keep bouncing but I realised that I told nedbank that when I signed my loan my loan was seeded and my attorney has done it all with the home loan department, then I went to complain 05 of april and I was requested to resend all documents from my attorney I did just that, then they took a month to respond, the service was appalling but I send the complaint and the complaint department resolved it and refunded me and cancelled the insurance and appologise for the appalling service they rendered. 3 months later I notice my bond is dfebiting r15k, and I told them from my first complaint that I would not afford a bond of r15k they should remove the insurance, no they did not, they set me for failure, they deceived me. They told me it was resolve and the insurance was cancelled, I even have a letter of proof and even re-reimbursed me. I took so much trouble regarding this matter and I very very angry and disappointed the way they dealt with my query, I plan my debit orders and now I went to an interview and they told me I am listed, I could not get that job because of nedbank, I am working in polokwane far from my family my family they are in gauteng and now I lost the opportunity to be with my kids, nedbank must employ me serious…. I also demmand that they remove that listing (Itc) with immediate effect, they like destroying people's lives, they should remove it now and correct my account and it also affected other debit orders have started to bounced becasue of nedbank, I am very very angry serious, they have messed me up, they should remove me now! This month had to sacrifice and pay r20k because they have need calling me telling me they handed my account. I would like to bring your attention to an incident at the Fourways branch of Nedbank.
I have banked with Nedbank for over 40 years - in that time, the service has become progressively worse.
I made the decision to close my personal account first, simply because I felt that it was a difficult and time consuming exercise to move my business account and one which I couldn't do easily at this moment in time.
I tried unsuccessfully to close my personal account both with the Fourways and Lonehill branches - for four months - I filled in forms and spent hours waiting in the two branches - and making many calls.
Finally on Monday 19 September I called the Fourways branch AGAIN, let messages for the manager, Mpho, again - but he doesn't have the courtesy even to return calls and appears to be is in the branch so seldom that one can ask the question whether he actually works there.
On Tuesday 20 September, (Mpho had not returned my calls and I was told he was out of the office yet again) - I drove to the branch and had the misfortune of dealing with Sumaiya Adam.
She is either completely incompetent or malicious …….
After angrily explaining my problem with my personal account - she left me in her office, came back and informed me that she closed my entire profile - not my personal account but also the additional 5 accounts on the profile.
When I demanded to know how she could do this without permission, she told me that she could not access my personal account without deleting my profile ! SERIOUSLY !
She finally agreed to open a new profile for me but ALL my beneficiaries had been lost.
I emailed her on Tuesday, to which I have still had no reply. I called her again today - Wednesday, at first she told me that she could not replace my beneficiaries - when I threatened to take the matter further, she told me I could go and stand at the enquiries queue and they would assist me! I told her, that I would not do this and she MUST return my profile in full.
At this moment she replaced 50 but I have lost 50 of the 100 beneficiaries on my business account - I have lost all the beneficiary payment history and Sumaiya Adam tells me that they cannot restore it. !
I have a business to run - my daily limit has been reduced and today I could make no payments !
This woman - in my opinion has maliciously made a decision which is impacting negatively on my business.
I have written countless emails and made countless calls and no one will take ownership of this catastrophy !

On the 1 July 2016 I resaved a SMS from Ned bank that a amount of R5400 was debited from my account. I went to the bank to enquire about the debt and after checking the clerk told me that it was a credit card deduction. I contacted card division and they told me that the account was handed over to the Attorneys' I spoke to a lady by the name of Jenna from Bezuidenhout and Van Zyl Attorneys and she mentioned that they cannot refund me because I have not made arrangements to pay my card, I accepted it but cannot under stand what gives them the right to deduct half of a mans salary and get away with it its not right my family must suffer if they can take money from you account with out asking what else can they do just how safe is you money at Ned bank .On the 2 August 2016 I resaved an SMS for a debt of R5709 after arranging with the Attorneys' I again contacted the card division and they directed me to the Attorneys I called them 3 times from the branch Managers office and every time someone picks up the phone tell you to hold and the phone never gets answered. Again the bank takes half of my salary. I spoke to a consultant He told me that the bank is allowed to do so because there is a claws in you contract when accepting the terms of the credit card. I think its bull and something needs to done about this I know, I an not the first person this has happened to and will not be the last. Pleas do not trust Ned bank with you money because if they can take you money with out you permission they can do anything. I do not intend to just give up if I do not resaved an response I will consult the news papers and will also go as far a Cart Blanch. I have been getting debit orders on my cheque account which I have never authorised before since late 2015. I have called Nedbank customer services numerous times already and the first time I was told they are investigating, no feedback followed, now I'm told other banks are experiencing the same issue and there isnt much they can communicate with us account holders because FNB sent their clients details of the people/companies deducting from their clients' account and they found that their addresses have changed. I would like my money returned to my account as it is affecting my finances awfully.

I went this morning to Kenilworth center to go and withdraw part of my rent money which is due today (R2000.00).I saw there was insufficient funds and then continued inside the bank for a statement to see whats been happening in my account as I have given NO ONE the authority to deduct from that account.I had to go sit in a long queue to see a consultant which told me that its their legal department who is responsible for my dilema.After struggling a bit to call, we eventually got through and I was told by a lady to write a motivational letter to get my money back that I never authorized them to take in the first place and it will take up to 7 working days to be returned.I'm absolutely disgusted and extremely angry at the fact that how do I pay my rent.Disgusted by the stealing that Nedbank has shown and to think I only have this account only for 2 months.I'ts THEFT AND I WANT MY MONEY BACK!

I was contacted by Nedbank in November 2015 and made arrangements to pay R200-00 per month on my one credit card and R300-00 on the other. Then Nedbank processed an Automatic Payment Order (APO) on the 24th of November 2015 for R410-00 on the one credit card, which was not part of our agreement. This made it impossible for me to pay the other card as well. I spoke to Nedbank legal a week ago, 10th December 2015, and tried to explain what happened. The consultant kept on saying that I should've made a payment on the other cards as well, no matter how many times I tried to explain that I do not have the extra money which is why I made arrangements in the first place. The lady said she would have to get back to me and I asked her to email me her details which she didn't do. She just forwarded a general email. Then yesterday, 16 December 2015, they took R3700-00 from my account! This is more than 50% of my salary and the money was actually allocated for my rent. I went to my Nedbank branch but I was told that nobody at a branch can help me I should phone Nedbank Legal. Which I've been trying to do all day but I just can't get through to a consultant. This is very very poor service as I always thought Nedbank was the best bank when it comes to customer service. Now it seems like it stops as soon as you have to deal with Nedbank Legal? Does Nedbank Legal have the right to just deduct money without giving me notice? The last time I spoke to a consultant she was still going to get back to me regarding the APO that wasn't supposed to go through. If they don't pay back my money I won't be able to pay my rent and there's a possibility that I can loose my house. If I spoke to a consultant a week ago and couldn't afford a R300-00 payment how can they have the audacity to deduct R3700-00?

dear sir/madam since 2007 I have been having problems with Nedbank in debiting my personal account. I was sequestrated in 2007 and the documents was sent to Nedbank on numerous occasions. up to date Nedbank continues to request the document almost every year and my account was debited twice now. the latest debit was on 2012-12-08 for the amount of R71. I have not authorized this debit order. I have tried contacting Nedbank but without success. all of theses numbers was given when I phoned but no one could assist me. home owners insurance
I bought my house about three years ago and have been paying my insurance as expected of me. Last week the ceiling in one of the rooms collapsed. They refused the claim due to poor workmanship during the installation of the ceiling. Bearing in mind that the house was inspected and valuated by the bank before purchase this is very difficult to accept. Iam disgusted that the email I sent a couple of months ago to Nedbank to close my cheque account was not done and now this account has accumulated an amount of R1000.00 I don’t even know what the heck is going on. I paid up my credit on the 28 September 2015, and to date my name is still not cleared and I haven't received a Paid Up Letter. each time I call their customer line it either they transfer me to the Legal department or give me a number to call, and when I call that number, they referring me back to Nedbank's customer line. I have wasted too much of my time for the past two weeks calling each day but it has just been an non ending circle. no one wants to take responsibility or help me instead they all just pushing me to the next person. all I am requesting is for my name to be removed and a Paid Up Letter, that all. I have been asked twice to email a proof of payment and I have. To Whom it May Concern Kindly note, in August 2015, the debit run for vehicle failed to be processed, what was processed was the interest and not the capital amount. I made inquiries and was informed that it was due to a systems fault and requested documentation as proof thereof. When asked when this might be corrected I was told that he would not know. I requested to be informed of likely event to ensure sufficient funds in account. This never happened. When I requested to speak to his manager I was told that she is only reachable via email. I find the manner customers complaints are dealt with aggravates the problem. Being argued with does not help being told that you should lodge an email because the manager is not telephonically available annoys most people. This matter could have been avoided had Nedbank notified client that debit order will run nearly 6 weeks after initial debit run. And, secondly had staff when called to inquire about matter not get involve in an argument with client telling them "but I did tell you"
not paying my money
I have a bussines account with Nedbank and have transfered money from my off shore account to my Nedbank account . I strugel over a year now to get my money. i have done all they asked and even got a director of HSBC involved but still nothing. Some one keep on submitting remarks on my account and then the whole pay out proces stop. Instead of finding out what is going on nooooooo thet just read the remarks and end of story. I received an SMS on 01/10/2015 stating the Debit Order changes to a new SAVVI account I had made at a branch a month before would not be effected. Using the number provided I have tried from 1st to close of business 2nd Oct (several times a day) to get to speak to a Customer Service agent/consultant without success. Every time I eventually get through to the main switchboard (after a long wait of enduring distortd music), the operator finally transfers the call to the supposed dept concerned... Then I wait on my cell phone for up to 25minutes at a time waiting the call being answered. JHB Elec and Telkom call cventers give better service... AND THEIR SERVICE IS HORRIFIC! I have left messages with the switchboard for the relevant dept to contact me the customer as I am furious about the money I am wasting in cell time waiting to get a NEDBANK caused problem sorted out -- no one has yet contacted me!
3rd world service-worst bank
I have a non-resident account with Nedbank and told that I have to do everything through my "personal" banker. . The customer service from this guy is about what I'd expect from the poorest 3rd world country. I email to have funds wired and maybe if I send 5 emails ...one will actually be responded to. Last time I needed a transfer I had emailed 8 times without response, Finally had to call and then filed a complaint with Nedbank asking to be switched to a new banker. All just to get MY money that I pay fees for having this account every month. Of course nothing happened and they didn't switch me to a new banker. I have a home loan that was paid off and I was told I can access it again any time and he won't let me access it. Says it's because I am a foreigner. Called the call center and they say I absolutely have a right to that money and there is no such rule. Has been a nightmare dealing with this bank. I'm not sure if it's because they aren't allowed to fire people in South Africa or why the service is so terrible. If any foreigners looking for a non-resident account I do NOT recommend this bank! Unless you like headaches and dealing with incompetent people.
Because of total lack of services we can not receive money paid by our clients: merchant department in South Africa can not understand that bank account in Namibia changed a number and just keeps around 70 000 Rand of our money. Nothing can be done about, good old African service.
My Building Home Loan was approved end of February. However, Nedbank has failed to register the bond.
It seems that some verbal agreements made during the negotiating process, can now not be catered for! I have started building my house already (as per the agreement), and can now not continue because the bond is not registered!
Seems like Nedbank does not want my business after all.
nedbank is a waste of time they waste your valuable time and then they still have banners in their branch that your time is precious to them. I think they are the worst bank in existence . I applied on line with nedbank for a personal loan on Friday morning, it is wednesday already no responce, this is pathetic service.
My boss wasn't able to pay me on time. I went shopping and spent money I did have to get food. My debit orders bounced knowing I wouln't have sufficient funds. Nedbank charges me R150 for spending money I did have because according to their computer system they only registered my food shopping after my debit orders had already bounced. what a sleazy way of robbing your customers.

I want to make one minor change to my personal loan. I opened a account with Nedbank now all i want is for the payment for my personal loan to come off from my Nedbank Account. The call center consultant just told me to wait and then i was hold for like forever.
Nedbank took default judgement on my account which i have already settled. Nedbank promised to proviode me with a letter of rescission to be e-mailed but have failed to deliver dispite request.

I changed from a savings account to a savvi account on approximately 17 March 2015, I was given a temporary card. On 29 March I received an SMS from Nedbank saying that my permanent card is ready for collection. On 7 April I went to collect it, after waiting in the enquiries queue, I was told that there has been a misunderstanding by Mashudu and that my permanent card would be ready for collection within the next 3 days. It is 16 April and I have not received any communication from Nedbank regarding my permanent card. To add to my deep frustration, upon making a withdrawal at an ATM, my temporary card was 'swallowed'. This is not an isolated incident, Nedbank Trade Route Mall has from the get go, in my opinion, always been a poor service provider. From the bank tellers to the Managers they are all poorly trained. Lunch time there's hardly anyone to help you, and if you walk in just before closing time, you are given an even more pathetic unwelcoming unpleasant service.
nedbank merchants beware!
We have recently lost more than 10 000 Rand in chargeback due to Nedbank's speed point not recognising fake AmEx credit card number. Transaction went through, proper confirmation received, chargeback arrived three weeks later. That means Nedbank speed points are useless and there is no way to ascertain correctness of credit card data.
Merchants beware! Nedbank offers you absolutely zero protection and assistance and you pay monthly fees for nothing!
Fake promises, lost money and no idea how to find these scammers
Scam, scam, scam. Stay away from the website investorsownedbank (hyipprogramme). I invested $1, 000 and these scammers promised real income, but it was scam, ‘coz they haven’t provided any money back and stopped to reply. I have no idea how to find them and get my money back.
