Outback Steakhouse out back restaurant Spokane Washington

On Sunday October 9th 2022 we had a family diner at out backs in Spokane Washington it was my husbands birthday. We arrived at around 5 pm. we were seated right away. the table being half table and chairs and half booth. The booth part was filthy with food dripping down the back resting area. It was awful! Then the middle of the table had leaves that bowed so badly a plate or cup could not sit there with out spilling out. The thing was to support two diners and I was one and it was so uncomfortable for me and I am disabled! Then we ordered two blooming onions. Both the onions were fried with the peelings on them unable to eat and in the middle of both the dough or breading was RAW! is just dripped off the onion. We brought this to the attention of the waitress. she removed the onions and did not charge us. Our daughter ordered a salad and when that arrived the Lettice was in lots of spots black and slimy the taste was awful! Of course we told the manager and he said he removed that from our bill. Then my husband ordered a steak medium it came with the ends turned up from being on the grill so long it was burnt and tough. The steak was about 1/4 inch thick It resembled beef jerkey! We were given 2 plates of ice cream to share with 6 adults. We all went home and reported that 5 of us had gotten sick really sick. We were charged $150 for this mess? Is that because my husband and I are from an older generation and we were being experimented on with a new cook? This was so bad even our one year old grandson had gotten ill.

Desired outcome: Return of Money Refund we should not be forced to pay for such a mess! We did take 4 to the Doctors and suspected food poisonings ?

Outback Steakhouse Event services

Dear Outback Steakhouse,

My name is David Massey and I organize a Meetup group that plays euchre at various restaurants in the Indianapolis area. We meet on Mondays when restaurants are slow. We have dinner and then play our card game for one to two hours. Our members arrive between 5 and 7. We never know how many will arrive for dinner and how many will arrive for only drinks and cards. Typically, drink and food orders are placed as members arrive. We do not wait for everyone to arrive before we eat. We’ve been doing this for several years and have never had any issues with the restaurants that we frequent. I’d like to share some service issues we encountered during recent visits to your restaurant at 7525 U.S. 31 South, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227.

OUR FIRST VISIT August 1, 2022

I arrived at 5pm to setup for the event. I was escorted to the reserved tables by our waitress. Upon my initial contact with her, she seemed preoccupied and inattentive. This particular evening, we had 21 attendees of which 18 had dinner and drinks and 3 just had drinks. There was no problem during dinner. However, while taking orders one of the members asked if she was going to write down the orders and the waitress replied, “I can remember your orders with no problem.” That was later followed by, “Now who ordered the drink?”

After dinner while the card game was in progress, many members were in need of drinks as the waitress had not been seen for over 30 minutes. One of our members went to look for her and found her in the kitchen talking to staff. She advised the waitress that we needed drinks and then returned to the table. When the waitress returned, she immediately stated to our group that we weren’t the only customers in the restaurant and we needed to be patient. One of our members replied that we had been waiting over 30 minutes. The waitress and my members traded some remarks that I can’t recall. The waitress left and came back with drinks.

I called management the following day to explain what happened and to apologize for my members' behavior. I also explained that I had initiated a new rule that no member was to initiate contact with any wait or management staff; they were to contact me or a co-host to resolve issues. The manager said he hadn’t heard there was an issue but a waitress shouldn’t have been absent for that amount of time. He apologized and told me that we were always welcome and to please come again. A few weeks later, we thought we would try the restaurant again.

OUR SECOND VISIT October 10, 2022

I arrived with my co-host at 5pm and was escorted to our tables by the hostess. I set up for the event and sat down expecting a server to take our drink & dinner orders. More members arrived and by about 5:15 there were 8 members seated and ready to order. I was at the restaurant for 45 minutes and no one had contacted our group for drinks or dinner orders. I asked a waiter if he was our server, he said no but would get her for us. After 15 minutes she had not arrived so I asked the hostess for the manager. When I told Cameron we weren’t being served and were getting the cold shoulder treatment from the staff, he said he would send our server over to us. She arrived at our table and took our drink orders, although she obviously was not happy to be our waitress. I introduced myself and asked for her name (Ashley). When I asked how she was today, she just turned and walked away. After bringing our drinks she immediately left without taking our dinner orders. While delivering drinks to another table, a member asked if she could take their dinner orders, she replied “Cool it! I’ll take the order when everyone arrives.” So I sought out a manager again. This time I spoke with manager Jen and explained we were not being served and we cannot wait until everyone arrives to order and eat. Doing so would not allow time to play cards. Jen said she would contact the server.

Ashley came to take the dinner orders. Someone politely questioned why we had to wait to place our dinner orders. Ashley replied, “Do you want me to take your order or not?” The member told Ashley that she was insulted by her reply and got up to leave the restaurant; Ashley walked away. As two other members were getting ready to leave, a new waitress arrived to take our orders. Kim was great! She was professional and provided the kind of service all customers should receive. Kim deserves a thumbs up!

We frequent many restaurants in the area; most of them love us and ask us to come back as often as possible. Some want us to be there every Monday. After the treatment we received at Outback Steakhouse Indianapolis Indiana, I can guarantee our group and at least twenty people will no longer frequent that restaurant. The staff is completely unprofessional and rude. Only one or two staff members have the professionalism to do the jobs they were hired to do. I was in the restaurant business for 13 years and spent 18 years working for the federal government and I have never seen unprofessionalism on a scale that these individuals displayed.

Desired outcome: Outback corporate should know how their customers are being treated at this location. The outcome is up to them.

Outback Steakhouse Entire dinner

My name is Daniel Brinceanu. Date of service was Saturday October 8, 2022. Manager on duty Kristen Lockwood.

0273a Table 59 party of 4 svrchk 13 6:18 pm Brianna

We arrived and were seated after using the mobile app to be placed on the waitlist. We did not receive any silverware or napkins, but were served bread and butter. I asked 3 times for silverware, and each time I was assured I would have it. I was rushed to order food as well. We received our drinks well after our appetizer arrived and still had no silverware. The blooming onion we ordered arrived cold and soggy. The sauce even had a film over it because it must have sat for a while before it was served to us. We did not complain and ordered our meals. All the steaks were ordered medium, two 6oz and on 8oz. The two steaks 6oz steaks were cooked perfectly, but the 8oz was cold and very rare. I kindly told the waitress and she said she would fire the three pieces I cut my steak into back up. I politely asked for a new steak, as you can’t refire pieces of steak it will be dry and horrible. They came with a new steak and had me cut into it and it was even more rare than the first. At this point everyone in my party had finished their meals so I declined a third try.

I received my check and the meal that I didn’t even eat because it was never brought correctly was still on my bill. I asked for the manager and she didn’t come, so I then asked for the managers card and the server brought it to me. This establishment doesn’t care about quality control or customer service. I spent $90.00 and I didn’t even eat. This is unacceptable and I would like for someone from corporate to contact me to resolve this horrible experience. My information is included below.

Desired outcome: I would like a refund for my entire bill.

Outback Steakhouse Cold food and never received the whole order.

We went to Spartanburg SC Outbacks. We were very disappointed with the service and food. Food was cold and salads and soup never came until we asked them. Server had one story about kitchen getting the food and about manager being in the kitchen and refuses to help get salad order and refuses to supply the soup. Then came out with to-go

Package. Server said they had no more bowls. Asked for manager Lilly and placed complaint with her. Her story did not match up with Server and was very spacey. Didnt feel accommodated with the results. WILL NOT BE COMING BACK. The same for Gaffney SC very dirty. I get better service and friendly people in Florida.

Outback Steakhouse Take Out Service

125 Goodman Road # 2518 10/03/2022; 15:18 pm

Ste A

Southaven, MS. 38671

[protected]

Purchased with Visa: $ 35.73 + $3.00 tip; Alice Springs Chicken, fries, salad, coconut shrimp, diet Coke.

Less than 5 minutes, I received the order. Wow, how quick was that? When I got to my hotel room 1 minute later; I realized I didn't get my Coke. When I open the plate; I noticed right away, the shrimp was not hot, the fries were not hot and the lemon wedge looked as if it had been squeezed already. The salad had some brown lettuce and did not look fresh. Not happy AT ALL. I haven't eaten the chicken, yet. I hope it is better than the rest of the meal.

Desired outcome: I want to be re-imbursed. $35.00 is too much to pay for meal that was not enjoyable.

Outback Steakhouse Restaurant is freezing cold

The Outback Steakhouse in Peachtree City, GA is entirely too cold. It is about 60 degrees in this restaurant ( if not colder). I am hearing other customers complaining as well. It is so cold that, by the time the food arrives, the food is cold. I almost left and went to Longhorn because of the cold temperature, but I love Outback and hate to see it do badly because of the temperature being too cold.

Desired outcome: Fix the problem ( which is not difficult to fix).

Outback Steakhouse RibEye Steaks

My grandson had helped my husband all day out in the yard and we wanted to take him out to eat... We all thought of outback steak house... Everything but the steaks were delicious. We ordered the large rib eye and split it and our grandson ordered the smaller one. Both steaks had mass amounts of muscle/gristle in them... We ordered them medium and they were both rare as could be. My husband doesn't like to complain but i'm pretty upset that we paid almost $80 and got bad steaks.

Desired outcome: Gift Card.....we would definitely like to go back and try again.....Thanks for listening.....we (my husband & I) are in our 60's...Outback Steak House use to be a wonderful place to eat.Rob & Pam Gerike

Outback Steakhouse Service

This day my sister, mother and I had lunch at the Prince Frederick, Md restaurant. We were there about 11:30 this morning. We all ordered the Soup and Salad lunch. Our waitress came to the table after we had been sitting about 5 minutes. She asked for our drink orders and we told her that we were ready to place our meal order. Our waitress was Deshae A. She brought out our drinks and then about 5 minutes later brought out our salads. We started eating the salads while we waited for our soups. I know it was probably at least 15 or more minutes before she came back out and told us that the soups were coming. We waited another 10 minutes and she came back and cleaned our salad plates. At this time we told her that we were still waiting on the soup. We told her that we had a meeting that we needed to go to so when she brought out the soup also bring the bill. It took her a while but finally the soups came out along with our bill. I know we were not the only ones in her section but the other tables seemed to be getting waited on a lot sooner. If she can't do the job with waiting on numerous people maybe she needs a different job.

Desired outcome: I would like to talk with the manager and maybe some sort of compensation.

Outback Steakhouse Hostile working environment

Human Resources Department:

I am filing a complaint against the Outback Steakhouse in Joplin, Missouri.

I was erroneously terminated on 8/7/2022 for taking a slice of cheesecake which I had permission from Larry Strickland, Food Service Manager, since I had purchased a fan for the salad/cold side personnel

On August 7, 2022, Devon , Managing Partner walked after me which I was leaving work and he grabbed my arm. I will be glad to send you a photo of the 4” by 5” bruise I have on my arm.

He accused me of stealing the slice of cheesecake. I tried to explain to him that I had permission and he wouldn’t listen. The next day I reported to work an was called into the office and told bt Devon that I was needed at Outback anymore. Larry Strickland was sitting iun the office with his back to me – and said absolutely nothing in my defense!

I wish to personally inform you that there is absolutely NO ACCOUNTABILITY at the Outback Steakhouse in Joplin, MO. A perfect example is that the liquor storage room is Always unlocked. There are several male employees that bring large backpacks to work. I have seen a couple of the guys go in the liquor room with their backpacks. I guarantee several bottles o liquor have disappeared.

There has been three documented incidents where Larry Strickland has been verbally abusive to me and threatened me in front of other employees. I spoke to Devon and documented the altercations and Devon did absolutely nothing.

Devon wrote on the dry erase board a few months ago that if any server does not ‘pre-buss’ their tables – their sections will be reduced. He Never followed up and the same people do not pre-buss at all

There is no accountability between shifts. Aa prime example is when the afternoon servers arrive, the morning servers are just sitting around joking or on their cell phones while no stocking has been performed. The day shift is allowed to just punch out and go without doing ANY side work. No butter ramikins made, no ice in the ice bin, no tea in the urns, etc.

Additionally, the new assistant manager, Cameron, wants to play games. Shortly after he became assistant manager – he was involved in a ‘love triangle’ with two servers. He was having sexual involvement with a server named Destiny and another one, Ashton. Because of this unprofessional behavior, Outlook lost a very good cook. Nothing was ever done about this situation but it caused a lot of internal unnecessary drama. One evening Cameron was running thru the kitchen, for no reason, and ran into me while I was carrying a large tray of food. He ran into my tray which knocked several ramikins on the floor. He never stopped to help clean up nor apologized for playing in the kitchen.

Several of the server trainers are seriously lacking in their training duties. It is so obvious that they do not train new servers to do any pre-bussing, cleaning, or stocking during their shifts. Therefore, new servers just stand around and play on their cell phones

At any given time, a majority of the servers will be standing around playing on their phones while the tea urns are empty, no butter balls have been prepared, no ice in the ice bin, and the potato bar is dirty and empty. It is always the same select servers will come in and make tea, clean up and/or stock. There is No Accountability and Devon does not care! Devon is perfectly content to stay behind the grill counter and cook, therefore, he doesn’t have to deal with the front of the house problems.

Cindell and Bryce, assistant managers have been forced to carry the brunt of the customer and server problems. They both had several chats with Devon about this unfair distribution of duties. Devon has promised several times to change things and become more involved. Unfortunately, NOTHING has changed in the past 18 months.

The kitchen at Outback is filthy! The counters are dirty, paper on the floor, black mold in the ice machine, tea urns/nozzles not cleaned and vegetables (zucchini or squash) are NEVER washed prior to cutting in the prep area. The prep attendants just take the food out of the boxes, cut and bag them along with the dirt.

I am very serious about this COMPLAINT and an requesting a follow up on being physically assaulted by Devon, verbally assaulted by Larry Strickland, and ‘no accountability” at the Outback Steakhouse in Joplin, MO.

Desired outcome: I want my job back - with no more harassment

Outback Steakhouse gift cards used at the Outback restaurant on Wolf Road in Colonie.

I used 3 gift cards at the Wolf Road in Colonie, NY Outback. When I presented them for payment the waitress came back saying that 2 of them only had $25 that I thought were $50 and the other one had no balance. She never returned the cards to me. My daughter gave me 2 cards a while ago that she said were $50 cards and I purchased a $50 one from my score card points from my credit card that I have the receipt for. We ate at Table 39 last night 08/16/22 and we arrived @ 6:15 for my birthday. There's a payment code on the bottom of the check "DRJDVC".

I'm looking at the original check and it looks the server was Jada D. I called the score Card office and I need the gift cards back to insure I was credited the proper amount on the card. I can attach my purchase receipt to confirm that at least one of the cards was for $50. I'd like to settle this ASAP.

Desired outcome: Credit my credit card transactions with the amount of the confirmed amount gift cards and return them to me.

Outback Steakhouse General restaurant experience

Outback Steak House:

Last Sunday we needed a nice place to eat to help celebrate our wedding date. Since we had not been at Outback for a long time, we opted to go there. It was just past five, and the restaurant was moderately busy. Three ladies greeted us at the front desk, and one of them took us to our table. All along the carpet was trash – white napkins, straw wrappers, and all sorts of small objects. The floor under a table near the front looked like the area of a food fight. Several tables needed clearing. A large table opposite ours was vacated shortly after our arrival. A black male with a square container passed us four times during our stay. He just looked at the dirty tables and disappeared. Alexis took our order. The blooming onion had been sitting in the kitchen for a while – it was on the cool side and overly greasy. The side salad looked like a dumping ground for excess cheese – it did not look inviting

The steaks were exactly as we ordered, and the baked potato was very good. Alexis never came to check if we were satisfied with our food. She came at the end to ask if we wanted dessert.

Quite a few of the staff walked over the trash on the floor – no one bothered to pick it up. My first impression was: ‘This is a dirty place.” Other than the main course quality, nothing looked inviting to return. Who is to blame? Biden, Puten, Covid 19, or the restaurant manager?

It was a disappointing visit.

Klaus O. Staerker

Desired outcome: Clean the place!

Outback Steakhouse Food and service

My husband and daughter and I had a very uncomfortable and unpleasant experience at the outback.. the hostess sat us in the bar area when we specified we wanted a booth in the dining area.. we were ignored when we asked to change our seating. My daughter ordered a steak that was nearly raw when she asked for it to be cooked medium well.. she couldn't eat it and they refused to re-cook it so she just took it home and cooked it there. My husband and I ordered the steak meldellion and shrimp over pasta., It arrived cold and with barely any meat.. our server never asked if everything was ok nor did they refill our glasses.. we heard them ask people around us if their meals were ok.. we left very unsatisfied and will not be returning. We spent over 117 dollars that night for nothing.

Desired outcome: A refund would be nice and if someone would contact me

Outback Steakhouse Health issues

Abilene, Texas restaurant. Please review attached documents. Regarding blatant health violations.

You have a waitress working at the south side Outback, here in Abilene, Texas. She has reported to me the following things which I have found highly concerning. I would appreciate you looking into these issues and getting back to me. If I don’t hear back within 1 days I feel it will be my duty to contact the local health center.

Management working sick with Covid-19.

Management calling sick workers into work. Especially food prep and servers.

Food, especially chicken being undercooked and making people ill.

Restaurant is “nasty” and making people sick.

Employees are not following cleanliness codes.

These complaints have been told to me by one of your own waitresses, Lacey Worley.

I find these issues highly concerning and do not intend on ever eating at your establishment, and will recommend others to not do so, unless these oncerns are addressed.

The attachments are documents sent to me by Lacey Worley via Facebook Messenger.

Desired outcome: Let me know when and if you look into these concerns. As well as your findings and plan of action.Cordially,Kari Jones
