Non-refundable reservation
Like most customers who are duped into using this "service" I was tricked into believing that I was making a reservation through the Hampton Inn's website and ended up falling into Reservation Desk's scam. When I contacted the hotel to check my reservation, they could not find it, so I booked a second time, this time going through the actual hotel. I contacted ReservationDesk to cancel the first reservation, and said they would charge me a $480.00 cancellation fee, despite it being weeks before the hotel was going to be used. The customer service person then "confirmed" my reservation at the hotel, who I then called. The hotel only had one reservation still, which is the one that I had made myself.
The hotel later called me back and said that they found the reservation from Reservation Desk, and cancelled it for me, with no fees. When I contacted ReservationDesk back, the customer service department said that they needed the name and title of the person at the hotel who cancelled my reservation to confirm that they would cancel without fees. I provided them with the information, and they said they would be contacting me in 5-10 business days.
While waiting for the 5-10 business days, I went to the hotel on the reservation I had made myself, and when I got back I contacted the company to ask the status. They then told me that they needed a signed document from the hotel to give their "provider" booking.com to allow a refund.
When talking to a supervisor at ReservationDesk's customer service desk, and asked why they did not require me to get something in writing from the hotel the first time, he admitted that the customer service employee had made a mistake, but the provider needed a written document from the hotel now. When I suggested that I contact Booking.com, the customer service supervisor became angry, and told me not to contact them, because they could not help me.
Overall, I have spent about 6 hours either on hold or on the phone with ReservationDesk, not including calling hotels, other third-party booking sites, and filling out a complaint with my State's Attorney General. The entire time the customer service reps have made me jump through hoops and accused me of lying, even writing down fabrications of what I said on their call log.
Rachel H. or the automated customer service rep who replies to these complains is no help either. The best thing to do is contact your attorney general as several other states have done, after being sued by the Federal Trade Commission. https://www.mondaq.com/unitedstates/hotels-hospitality/665678/ftc-reservation-agencies-settle-charge-disclosure-lawsuit
Not to mention that despite what ReservationDesk.com claims, the Federal Trade Commission warns people not to use their site, as a "travel scam" as a third-party booking site that uses other third-party booking sites to make reservations isn't a good business model unless you are running a scam.
Desired outcome: Please Refund
This complaint was resolved, by my credit card company of all people. I disputed the charge with my credit card company shortly after I was made aware that Reservation Desk had defrauded me, and USAA was able to somehow get the money back. So, for all the other people defrauded and robbed by Reservation Desk or Reservation Counter, this is an option.
I do like all these responses from the company though:
"Dear Customer, sorry we stole your money. We are thieves, so that is kind of what we do. We have stolen money from thousands of customers like you, as our business model is based on tricking customers into using our site. There is no reason to ever use our website to book hotels, because it is easier to actually contact the hotel directly than to use our fraudulent service, and the hotel will provide you with a reservation, rather than just stealing your money."
My complaint is still unresolved. This company does nothing but cheat, lie, steal and deceive. They are not one of the most recognized names in travel, because if people knew who they were dealing with they would avoid them. I do not think that anyone who has done business with them will ever do business with them again, willingly. Their entire business model is based off theft, because it makes no sense otherwise.
Other third-party booking sites at least provide some kind of extra service like bundling hotels with rental cars or plane tickets. These people provide a redundant service. In the time it takes to accidentally use their website, you can easily do it all yourself. Contact the hotel directly, make your own reservation. Not only is it easier to do yourself, but you can do it better than they can. Because complaints are littered about them not following through after you have paid them money. They book the wrong hotel, fail to book entirely, like in my case, over charge credit cards, or add additional fees. Once they have your money, it does not matter, they will not give it back. The only thing that they do to make them partially legitimate is that occasionally, they actually book a hotel correctly, and nobody notices the extra $16.00 they tack on, or they fall for the ruse that it was the hotel, or the third-party booking site they used who made the mistake.
Tell me, in what other industry can you pay for a good or service, not receive a good or service, and the company not provide you with your money back? Tell me in what industry, does a 4th party system even make good business sense. The 3rd party acts as a middleman between the merchant and provider and the customer, but why would you need an additional group, that uses that same middleman, who essentially does everything except take the money?
I feel like I am dealing with a fraudulent Nigerian Prince scammer than a legitimate business. How has the State of Utah not raided this place and put this scam out of business yet?
If you want to see more of how Reservation Desk treats is customers, just read over the Federal Trade Commission case. It looks like they are still up to their old tricks.
"Utah-based third-party hotel room resellers have settled Federal Trade Commission charges that they misled consumers through ads, webpages, and call centers that led consumers to mistakenly believe they were reserving the rooms directly from the hotel, and failed to adequately tell consumers that their credit cards would be charged immediately, rather than after they arrived at the hotel. This case is part of the agency’s ongoing efforts to ensure consumers receive accurate information in connection with booking hotels so they can make informed choices."
https://www.ftc.gov/news-events/news/press-releases/2017/12/hotel-room-resellers-settle-ftc-charges-they-misled-consumers
"Consumers have suffered and will continue to suffer substantial injury as a result
of Defendants’ violations of the FTC Act. In addition, Defendants have been unjustly enriched
as a result of their unlawful acts or practices. Absent injunctive relief by this Court, Defendants
are likely to continue to injure consumers, reap unjust enrichment, and harm the public interest."
This complaint is still not resolved. I have "reached out" to customer service multiple times, and I believe that the company's policy is to refuse to give any refunds, no matter if Reservation Desk made a mistake, or if the hotel and provider have themselves provided refunds. I am also pretty sure that nobody monitors the support email, and that the responses generated are automated. Not giving people their money back is how this company manages to be profitable, so don't expect them to help you at all.
Non refundable reservation
When I called Reservation Desk at [protected] on May 1st I believed I was dealing with IHG Holiday Inn Express reservation center to make a hotel reservation. I asked for the government rate of $112 but was told the rate was $165.75. This reservation was for Army training and my training got canceled. I didn’t went to this reservation, called like 10 times to get a refund for this because I didn’t get my government rate reservation.
My training was changed to other days I made the reservation through IHG. Now I was charged with a plus room rate of $112.00 government rate bedroom and $0 dollars off reservation fees. Reservation Desk charged me $778.13 for only 4 nights.
On my credit card the charge shown was for"Hotel Reservation LOH"- I called the hotel and cancelled this reservation when I realized it was not the hotel I was booking with directly and I then rebooked with Bellweather Beach Resort
On my credit card the charge shown was for"Hotel Reservation LOH"- I called the hotel and cancelled this reservation when I realized it was not the hotel I was booking with directly and I then rebooked with IHG Holiday Inn Express DIRECTLY.
They even put my name wrong on the reservation. There was a language barrier with the representative who was Philippine or something alike.
This has happened to me and other 5 friends who were in the same group.
I’ve being trying to get a refund since May 3rd 2023 and I haven’t get any information or updates. They are saying that I am not getting a refund for this. I really need help. This agency is fraudulent.
Desired outcome: Full reservation amount of $762.14

Website
I tried to book a room on the website on April 13th. The website said the request couldn’t be processed. I found out from my bank on April14th they had charged my card twice. I called and spoke with a woman who told me my refund will be processed in 3-5 business days. It’s been over a month and still no refund so I called again today. I spoke with another woman who tried to tell me they didn’t charge me and I hadn’t spoken with anyone previously and that it wasn’t her problem. She was extremely rude and kept trying to talk over me. Good to know how reservation desk treats its customers. Don’t waste your time or your money!
Desired outcome: ….. my refund would be nice since I was never given a reservation or any kind of service

Booking a reservation
Total rip off/scam! On 5/7/23 my husband called Holiday Inn Resort/Jekyll Island GA direct [protected] to make a reservation for a stay 7/20-7/23/23. He had to prepay for the booking which was odd but the lady said because of the time of year, we had to go ahead and pay. They collected over $1100 and the lady said if we cancelled by 7/4/23 we would be fully refunded. $15.99 was for a booking fee that we were never told we would be charged. We were able to find something more within our budget so he cancelled the following day 5/8/23 and we received a no refund letter from Reservationdesk.com. We called the hotel and they couldn't tell us anything, just that Expedia had our money and referred us to Expedia. I asked how was that possible when we called the hotel direct and Expedia isn't mentioned anywhere on the charges that were charged to my husbands credit card nor was Expedia mentioned in the cancellation letter. We have stayed at this hotel 3-4 times and thoroughly enjoyed it but we will never stay again and definitely won't recommend it to anyone else.
Desired outcome: We want our money back. We are pursuing legal counsel.

Hotel reservation cancelation
Name: Guy Wall
Hotel: Hampton Inn Pittsburgh/Monroeville
Dates of stay: Arrive - 4/20/23; Check out - 4/24/23
Complaint: At 8:30 am on 4/20/23 I learned that I needed to cancel this reservation. Noting that the cancelation policy was that I could cancel up until 10:00 am on 4/20/23. I started looking for whom to contact and how to contact them. I was told by Hampton Inn staff that the reservation was made through a 3rd (maybe 4th) party reservation company, World2MeetDirectConnect; and that contacting this agency was the only way to cancel. Their website had only an offshore phone number and of course I am not set up to make international calls. Therefore it was impossible to cancel by 10:00 am on 4/20/23. I have been away at another destination until this morning and so this is my first opportunity to contact you.
The major issues here are that an offshore agency actually booked the reservation and that as an offshore company, they did not have a phone number accessible to me and therefore I could not make the cancelation deadline I am hoping that you can help retrive the $864.85 spent on this unused reservation. Thank you very much.
Desired outcome: Refund of $864.85.

Hotel reservations
My family amd I were traveling from Atlanta, Ga to Chesapeake, Va to attend my nephew's funeral. I was very clear when I informed the representative that I needed a total of 4 rooms. She told me that she would need to confirm payment for at least one room in order to reserve the other 3. I was clear that my booking the room was contingent on the other 3 rooms being reserved. She took my payment, said she reserved the rooms and when I asked to confirm with a supervisor that the rooms would indeed be reserved, she placed the call on hold and then hung up. I immediately called back and was informed by another agent that the 3 rooms had not been reserved and the hotel actually didn't even have 3 rooms available.
This issue has caused a huge inconvenience for my family as we were forced to make other arrangements in a short period of time. At this time, I have yet to receive a full refund.
Desired outcome: Full refund
I have yet to hear back from anyone regarding this issue.
dishonest sales person
The salesman promised the shuttle ran at 4:00 AM,I asked him at least 3 times just to confirm because that was why we chose that hotel. He was lying, the shuttle did not start till 7:00 AM. The calls are recorded and they said they would check the recording then decide if they would give us a refund. They never contacted us again. They are not an honest company

Misinforming the customer with wrong information
When I called to make a reservation (which it took 30 minutes to do so, it should not have taken this long) it was with the intention that the room would be booked at Chateau Louis Hotel as I wanted my room to be specifically there because I always go there when I need to book a room. The agent asked for the address and I gave it to him. He then asked me if it was in Vancouver, I stated "No, it is in Edmonton". He tried to look it up again. He then told me basically that "it looks like that address you gave me is a place that is going to be sold". He then suggested a room at Days Inn (had no fridge and no microwave). I agreed to book a room there because of what he told me about the Chateau Louis Hotel. The next day I went to Chateau Louis Hotel wanting to see for myself if it was closed because it was being sold...and it was open for business! The issue is... the agent should not have misinformed me that the Chateau Louis Hotel was "being sold" otherwise, of course I would have made the reservation there. Your agent needs to be able to correctly look up hotels and their status and NOT misinform people. Do you not agree?
I reserved room on March 27/2023 around 5:30 pm.
Desired outcome: Please refund

Travel agency Reservations Desk.com
ReservationsDesk.Com Travel agency, falsely Pretended to be the front desk Fairfield Inn Hotel and charged me $228.00 to book reservations and tacked on there on fee for the room. When booking the room I was told I could also cancel at any time. After finding out their tactics and misrepresentation, they said there is a noncancellation with them. Please report them to Your States Attorney General and Better Business Bureau. The more complaints and exposure the sooner they pay.
Desired outcome: Put out of business and pay more than they Profit for hurting businesses and ordinary working people.

Overcharge your credit card
We have been Robbed by reservation desk while Booking our tickets to Canada. Basically I provided them my card info while making changes on our existing tickets. Initially he supposed to charge 3843.60$ for tickets and taxes separately. Now he charged this amount from my TD Visa card and said Mam your card is declined kindly provide me different card if possible. I did so, but now they charged 6756.80$ from my BMO card as well. As soon as I arrived back to canada I called them to reimburse one of the amount you charged twice. They reimbursed after 1 months I was happy to see that, but in actual they we’re playing with our banks
(They charged my card twice 3843.60$ twice and then put the money back. we landed in Canada April 1st 2022 we changed our tickets day before 31march 2022)
But they charged my card again on June 21st.. how it's possible we already landed and they taken 3843.60$ out from my visa without my consent... Thats his contact info.. Working with reservation desk and dealing with multiple airlines. Instead of paying 6756.80$ we ended up paying them $10,600.4
We emailed them many time but unfortunately they won’t reply you back ever no matter how you begging them. These are the emails I’m expecting response back but never happen.

Non refund of cancelled hotel rooms
We booked a reservation for September 23- 25th with Home2 Suites Stuart. Itinerary # [protected] 4 rooms booked on 9/8/2022.
1 room @ $682.95
2 rooms @ $463.43 each
1 room @ $463.43
We paid for all rooms at a total of $2073.24 charged to our credit card. Per cancellation policy, we had till 9/16/2022 - 1pm to cancel with full refund. Due to Covid-19 issues we cancelled all rooms on 9/15/2022 with the Hotel in Stuart, FL. We were told the credit would show up on our credit card within 5-10 days. When it didn't show up, we called the Hotel. They told us a 3rd party booked the room and we needed to call Reservation Desk. After reservation desk did their checking with Home2 Suites we were told a refund was approved on 9/30/2022. When that credit didn't show up, we called again and went through the process and were told again it would be 5-10 days. Again, with no refund, we emailed Reservation Desk and were told the refund was approved and processed. Reservation Desk proceeded to tell us it was now the financial institutions issue. After speaking with our bank, they showed where there has been no refund issued. Reservation Desk is not following through with their obligation to refund our $2073.24 for the 4 reservations we booked and paid for in full. This will be our last attempt with Reservation Desk before having to seek alternative means to get our money back.
Desired outcome: Full refund of $2073.24 to our Wells Fargo account

Booking scam
We reserved a room at DFW airport back in July for one night in November though ReservationDesk.com. Our credit card was immediately charged for the room, plus a $14.99 booking fee. Upon checkout, the hotel said ReservationDesk.com did not send them payment so we were charged again. I contacted ReservationDesk.com four times and each time they said, "So sorry that happened, we will look into it and call you back." They have never called back and it has been over a month. I have initiated a dispute with my credit card company. Also, I realized I could have made the reservation for free through the hotel. This company is unreliable and has poor customer service.
Desired outcome: Refund for one night in hotel room that we have paid for twice.

Not forthcoming when booking and refund refusal
Avoid this company! I called a specific hotel in Colorado Springs to ask about pets, but my call was hijacked by ReservationDesk.com. They booked us in Comfort Inn in central Colorado Springs that was in terrible conditions - dried blood on bedsheets in one of our two rooms, rooms in disrepair. We checked in and immediately checked out. The hotel said we could get our second night refunded, but not the first night. But we did not get a refund. We filed a dispute with our credit card company, but Webeds.com (affiliated with ReservationDesk) sent our cc company papers that we never received and said we didn’t meet the cancellation requirements. Also, ReservationDesk did not inform me of the $14.99 service charge or that I had reached a call center. I will never use them again, nor will my family members who were traveling with us. If I could rate them a 0 I would.
Desired outcome: Refund of second hotel night.

Scammers
I am in a back-and-forth with Reservationdesk.com. We booked to stay at The Fountains at ChampionsGate in Orlando/Kissimmee. I have until 11/17/2022 to cancel the reservation. I had reserved feelings about the company. My family decided to move our reunion to Miami. I tried to cancel the reservation on 11/09/2022, and the system would not let me do so. I called the next day; the customer service rep could not cancel the reservation either and told me he would need to escalate the issue to another team. The next thing I received was an email stating that they received my request and the hotel was investigating my request. I responded to the email questioning what investigation is needed to refund my payment if I am within the cancellation period. I contacted the hotel, and they assured me they were not investigating my reservation. I did a conference call with the hotel and reservation desk, and the hotel told them to refund me and not to charge any service fee. Whenever I receive communication via email, they are sticking to the story that the hotel is investigating me. Sadly there are 176 other folks that this company duped, and no one is doing anything to help us. They remain in business, and more folks fall prey to their scheme.
Desired outcome: I want my full refund

Refund Not Processed
We have not received a refunded from this third-party hotel reservation that did not accommodate our request. My partner is in a wheelchair with limited mobility. We requested a roll-in shower with an ocean view. When we arrived, to our surprise, we did not have an ocean view, nor did we have a roll-in shower as requested. The hotel did not have any roll-in shower rooms available to us for the time we were staying so we had to find another hotel. I called them the minute the hotel couldn't accommodate our request for a full refund. Over the past month I have called and talked with 5 different representatives who all keep telling me 5-10 business days with a 24 to 48 hour processing time. It's now been 30 days and still no pending refund.
Desired outcome: Please refund.

Making a reservation
I called to make a reservation on September 24th at 9:30 the lady that answer the phone took my credit card number my name, she told me I won't be able to checkin till 4:00 or 5:00 I told her this was too late for me and I would have to cancel, she basically told me to F off and hang up the phone( reservations for Yonkers New York) I'm kind of worried now that this young lady has my credit card number and all my information
Desired outcome: I hope this young lady is not talking to everyone like that on the phone and I hope someone was recording and will review this conversation
A refund
Confirmation #[protected] I booked a room through your service and specifically asked if the hotel was by allegiant stadium and they said yes but ended up being 30 minutes away so I had to book another hotel room. And if you really listened to the recording you would know that. I ended up paying $995.86 for a two night stay. I will NEVER use this service again
Scammed by a Crooked company
Site is set up to make you believe that you are dealing directly with Travelodge and when you find out that they have charged you 50% tax and other fees which included an extra hidden fee of $14.99 total of which should be no more than 15% for all fees as charged in Ontario by all reputable hotel chains such as the Holiday Inn and Hilton chains of Hotels. Once you realize that you are being scammed and try to cancel the reservation you find out that in order to cancel your reservation free of charges you would need to cancel one day prior to making the reservation which is an impossibility! Hard to believe that the chain of hotels that include Travelodge would have anything to do with Scammers the likes of Reservation Desk. I advised them of the thievery that I suffered at the hands of Reservation Desk but all they came back with was that I needed to deal directly with Reservation Desk!
Desired outcome: An appropriate credit for our stay at the Travelodge by Wyndham Trenton on August 20, 2022 and notification from them that they will no longer have anything to do with Reservation Desk.
Reservation Desk Over Charges
By using sponsored ads, this website comes in at the top of your search window. It then falsely represents itself as the property that you’re trying to contact directly.
Once you make a booking, they overcharge you by hiding it amongst taxation money, so that you do not question. I booked a room where the taxation seemed high. I crunched numbers, and it turns out that this website was taxing DOUBLE the maximum tax that should have been imposed on the room.
I’m lucky I caught it as soon as I received the booking confirmation and was able to catch it and cancel the reservation prior to the transaction fully processing. The “supervisor”that I spoke with was not willing in the slightest to help.
Desired outcome: Educate the public to not utilize this company.
The Price that was charged for the room
My husband booked a last minute hotel through what he thought was the hotels booking site and was charged 1034.00 for a 2 night stay that only should have cost 400.00
by the time I saw it it was too late. It is a rip off, scam... and whatever else you want to put here.
