ross management
I worked at the Ross store up in the Springs and I was one of the openers for this new store in pueblo. For once ROSS did it RIGHT! It was hard but the Manager they hired she kicked ### and got things done, people were trained right, they knew not to go home until the store was clean, they were making all their numbers and the store was super. Made all their sales with a smile on their face. I left that store to work in a store in Denver that treated customers like trash and you had to look in trash to find anything you wanted.
Point is the store will be good or bad only depends on what mamagement allows. If they get out of their office and walk the floor you will have a good store. I promise you there is not that much paperwork to keep you in the office.
rude assisstant manager (betty)
I was returning a pair of shorts that did not fir my son and I was basically called a thief by BETTY the assisstant manger! The item was not on the receipt and I said OK. She told me maybe I didn't pay for the item and they should charge me for it. WHAT!!! I don't think so. I said it might be on another receipt somewhere and I grabbed the wrong receipt or...

I am very angry and disappointed at Ross Inc. from management with their lame excuses to payroll all the way to the corporate office. I want everyone to know how much this company lacks compassion for prior associates not receiving their W2. I have reached only answering machines and have had no responses thru email about my situation. They want 10 dollar...

My name is John and i recently went to the Ross in Monaca PA. And i had horrible time. The floors were a mess. There were a number of clothing items that were out of place. There are cloths all over the place. I happen to go there when the plumbing was out and i had to go next door to use the bathroom. But the worst part is, there was "stuff" comming out of the sewer and it smell horrible. They should of shutdown the store. I went to an employee and the employee did not know when the plumbing would become available again. When purchasing, the lines were long and i waited about 15 minutes just to get ring up. There was other employees doing markdowns. I ask an employee why they don't call up more people to ring and the response was horrible. They said it was the people ringing were the only ones that have been train and there were no other people to ring. It was a really bad expierence. My new shirt i bought smelled horrible. i washed it and it was still smelling.. errrrrr
ROSS DRESS FOR LESS IS A TERRIBLE STORE.
GO NEXT DOOR TO MARSHALLS. IT'S NOT HAS CHEAP. BUT THE EXPERIENCE IS BETTER.
My incident occured in San Jose, CA located on Curtner (new store) in the Willow Glen area.
On sunday I went to Ross with two dresses and receipts inside the Ross plastic bag for return. As I entered, there was a super long line. So I decided that I don't wan to stand in line once for the return and then another time if I decided to buy something. I saw some dresses that I would like to try on. I went to the dressing room and the rude fat woman (between 20's to early 30's) told me I cannot bring my bag into the dressing room. I told her she need to make sure no one touches my stuff and she said okay. But I can tell that look on her face that she didn't like what I just said to her.
As I came out, she was no where to be found and there was only one bag there, so I assumed it is mine cuz there is no other bag outside of the dress room. I ended up not buying anyting and decided to return my two dresses during the weekdays since it is always quiet and no line. I am a stay home mom. Today, I decided to go and return my dresses and I opened up the bag which was tied in a knot. I was shocked to find out that the items inside the bag wasn't mind. There was a pair of children jeans size 14 with brand name tag but no Ross tag and a super huge polyster cheap pair of short with a ross mark down tage of $5. My gutt feeling is someone must heard what I told the dress room lady that it is two really nice dresses and she must look after it cuz I don't want anyone stealing them.
My worst fear happened on sunday. Someone stole my bag and walked out of the store since there is no sensor on them. Or my other hutch is the store dress room employee got pissed off at me and switched the items to get back at me.
I called to the store today and no one seem to care enough to help me. They told me that the store manager isn't there. I guess I have to take that big lost and return the polyester shorts for $5 store credit since it is not my item and I don't have the receipt to it.
This happen like around 2 p.m. at Ross. If you are corporate, you should make your employees are accountable for things like this cuz if it happen too many times, you will lose your good customers and attract only the bad customers. Deep in my heart is that I stil think that the Ross Employee switched my stuff to get even with me. I spend hundreds of dollars at Ross already. You wouldn't want all your customers to go to Marshall and TJMAXX. They carry identical products for similar prices. I am just a loyal customer and only putting up this complaint so higher mangement know about these kinds of issues at Ross.
If some Target can help friendly and polite employees, you can too do that!
Going to Ross is like going to a garage sale. Everything looks used or dirty.
So you went into a store that smelled horrible and took your time shopping... at your own free will. I'm sure the employees who had to work 6-8 hour shifts in the stench for minimum wage while customers yelled at them and left scattered merchandise in their wakes were lucky to have you.
Ross has no organization and lacks good management. they need to hire a college graduate with management skills.
If it smelled that bad why did you not just turn around and leave? You know there was no one there that made you stay and purchase a shirt... Quit you crying it like do you have nothing better to do than go online and ### about something the store itself had little control over. After reading the complaints on this site I think that Americans have gotten to a point where we no longer appreciate and value how lucky we are. And we are willing to complain about anything and everything and not step up and change the situation. Like you could have turn right around and left and went to another store that did not have a plumbing problem and purchased your shirt. But instead you stayed even though you were unhappy with the situation and then complain about it later on the internet. Boo hoo for you.
w2
I have been waiting for my w2 and I still have not received it. I have called customer service and the payroll department and the only thing I hear is pay 10.00 to have a reprint for my w2. Why should I have to ask for a reprint of something that I never received. When I used to work for this company it was horrible and now I feel like this company is going...

On November 30, 2007 while shopping at the Ross Department store located at 4032 Grand Ave. Chino Hills, CA I wanted to try on several items before purchasing. I have been to several stores in Salem, Oregon and Portland Oregon. Each time finding Used,Filthy items on the shelfs and hanging on racks. The worst is when I found a Pair of Mens Boxer Briefs. That were Stained with blue tranfer stains from obious wear. They also had human bodily stains as well.
To top it off the were marked at Full Price. I reported it to an Employee and got this look of confusion. Then the Employee had the nerve to asked what I wanted them to do with the Underwear.
I asked that she call the manager over so i could speak with him. The manager came and spoke with me. Was i suprised to here the answer to my question. As to why and how could any store put this garment out to be sold to any customer. His reply was simple " I have no idea how these underwear got tagged or put on the rack." Then he gave the Employee a funny look and walked away. Not another word.
I have since check everything over while there in the store. I've only been twice with my sister since then. I have yet to get over what happened. I have never had this hapen to any store that i have ever shopped in before. The Company need to put some kind guide line as to what they will put back on the shelf.
Yes it should have been tossed out not put out for sale. But do you take into consideration how many returns are done in a day? How much merchandise is in the store? It's not hard to loose track of a piece or two, especially during a rush of impatient customers at the registers. If you want to be mad at someone, then how about the revolting customer who stained the nasty things to begin with then brought them back to the store and put them into the hands of some innocent cashier. Disgusting.
I have to agree, but yes the associate should have made things easier and just M.O.S ed them... into the garbage.
We find that kind of stuff funny, thats just something that doesnt happen very often, i bet they had a good laugh back in the break room.
what did you want them to do, get down and beg for your mercy because you found a dirty or stained item on the floor, what exactly did you want.. an apology, more likely a discount.
Get real and live in the real world. Otherwise, go shop at Macy's... they are perfect!
Why do you go to "several" cross stores in the area... if the experience is really that bad?
disasterous store
I have lived in Bellingham for six years now and have not been able to shop at Ross Dress for Less. The store looks like a bums yard sale with clothes, bedding, shoes, etc strewn all over the place. You couldn't push a cart in any of the isles even if you tried. I've been to Ross Dress For Less in Idaho and have never seen such beautiful stores. I don't understand why the Washington stores can not be ran the same way. The employees look like people off the streets, dressed shabily and you have to wait in line for an hour most times to even purchase something. I would think the company would make alot more money if they offered a much more appealing store to shop at with higher classed looking employees, not to mention the store carries clothes that are crap. Whoever does the ordering for the store does not follow the commercial ads on T.V. for products. I would love to be able to shop in our store in Bellingham but will not and I am not the only one who feels this way. I am writing on behalf of at least 100 other people, all whom I either know personly or have spoken to as they have left the Ross store without purchasing anything.
I guess everyone knows what kinda store Ross is, y'all know what to expect, if you want a nice store go somewhere else. You want cheap clothes? Then stop complaining cuz the mess isn't done by the associates, but from costumers. Want a nicer store? Don't leave the things on the floor and put them back where they belong! Stop saying "it's their job" cuz even though it is once an associate cleans up doesn't take more than 2 mins for y'all to unorganize it again! The assiciates have so many things to do and can't always be after y'all picking up your mess!
I've been to a Ross store. I never had seen soooo much disrespect from the customers. Thowing merchendise clothing on the ground. Putting dirt marks on the stores clothes so they can get a discount. I guess the welfare has to go shopping on shopping sprees too. It is like that everyday! Think about it. If you were a emplyee you would have to spend 2 freakin hrs picking up after slobs who want something for nothing. As if it ain't cheap enough already! After closing you should see the mess and you never can get caught up. The lines are always long and busy. The cashiers can never get a dam sec to pick up OR straighten up. You know what we are all human. And their are always gonna be snooty cashiers out there. Just try not to be one yourself and that makes a world of difference in interacting with custmoers and them returning to wherever you work! Sometimes we can't help it but we have to follow the rules and unfortunely that creates angry custmers.
I was in Vancouver shopping at Ross and i couldnt even walk down an aisle it was so trashed everything everywhere and when a lady complained to the cashier in line she left then the cashier and manager made fun of her as i was checking out.
our store in north bend oregon is spotless and nice but not 1 friendly person works there Im wondering if a requirement to work there is to be a snooty person.
The Bellingham store is an accident waiting to happen. I have complained via email to corporate a year ago about this store and have taken pictures with my cell phone. The other day I was in the store and watched a grandmother and I assume her daughter falling while trying to get through the sheet isle. Its only a matter of time before they get sued for an injury. If I hear of anyone bringing litigation against Ross for any reason, the litigants attorneys will be getting copies of my electronic letters and pictures.
Everyone I overheard talking was talking about the condition of the store. I wonder why the CEO does not care that the condition of his stores represent him. Of course, maybe the fact that CEO MICHAEL BALMUTH has sold off 1/5 of his shares in the store within the last 3 months may give you a hint.
racist manager who doesn't care who he hires!
I am working at a Ross store and one of the managers has been proven so many times that he does not care who he hires. He has hired so many people who barely speak English. He knows Spanish but that doesn't mean the customers or the other employees know how to speak it! It really frustrates me along with a lot of the co-workers, but they are too afraid to...

Read full review of Ross Dress for Less and 3 commentsfilthy store, rude employees!
Ross Dress For Less is the filthiest stores I have ever been in. I have tried 3 of these stores to only find that it seems things are very out of control. Their employees haven't got a clue as to the price of just about anything. And the employee's attitudes leave a frown on your face as you leave and if I could have made my way back into these filthy stores, I would have returned everything I've ever bought there. Something needs to be done. Rudeness is unprofessional and to say the least, these stores are making money off of people and can't even give a thanks in return. Fire all the employees, clean up the stores and then maybe the next people they hire just might give a damn. Ross should be paying us for putting up with their crap instead of making money off the little people.
Let me just point out one thing, you want Ross to have numerous cashiers open, and for the store to maintain perfect order, its unrealistic of any store. And you try working there dealing with all the complaints, all of the attitudes of customers, them always wanting a discount, letting their children run wild, and crying, chances are after 15 minutes on a Saturday, you'd be rude too. Customers berate and belittle employees daily. Yelling at us for things we have zero control of. I've had clothes thrown at me for asking them to hang the items on a stand for me to count. I've had customers yell at me for their own mistakes, demanding things, and calling it the law. Threatening to file complaints if we don't give in to their demands. I could care less if you ever shop at Ross again. All of you very rude customers can stay away. That's when attitudes will change.
At my store our manager and assistant manager are very accommodating. Our loss prevention do what they can, even if that's going out around the parking lot to grab a cart to help a customer with merchandise. I end every transaction with a thank you, have a great day or a thank you, I'm sorry about the wait.
Furthermore, your attitude decides the employees. Have some manners! Don't come up to the counter on the phone, and don't linger around the store when we're closing... Courtesy..it goes a long way.
I work at Ross and I hate it! Employees rude? How about the million of customers that feel they can use us like their personal therapist and vent their personal frustrations out on us on an hourly basis. You have no idea! On top of that the computer system there is jacked up! We are timed how fast we go including you the customer writing checks and counting 45 pennies out- counts against us! Besides that equipment at my store doesn't work and you cannot print out gift receipts after the transaction. You have to press F5 for each item as you ring, God for bid you forget or press F6 which deletes the ENTIRE transaction! All this for minimum wage! Great place to work, you tell me... The price of anything? How about people purposely come in an rip them off hoping to get a lover price on them (stealing) or a parent doesn't control their kids that like to rip tags off or chew them? Do you have a clue? You work there! How dare you! Just by your rude comments I can tell you need therapy! AND you won't return anything, talk is cheap! People come to Ross to get designer good quality items for nothing. What do you expect? I am nice to everyone that comes into my store. I say hi to all my customers and they ignore me as if I am not even there or a bother to them- how would you feel? I get very discouraged after awhile. Whoever wrote this needs to work Ross for a month and you will take all this back! Fire the employees? Please take my minimum wage job! Please do! See how long you last! Please go to the higher end like Macy's if you want someone to spoon feed you! They get paid more and they charge 10X's more for their clothes! How can you say Ross is making out when their prices are cheaper than anywhere and CUSTOMERS are stealing every chance they can get!
I disagree with rude employees. I work at the Ross in Orlando on Sandlake. It is mandatory that we greet and treat each customer with respect. On my first day training, after a few customers I forgot to ask one of the customers about their shopping experience and I was reminded that it is essential.
At our store, wherever we walk we pick up. On each of my interviews EVERY person I walked behind including managers, picked up an item off of the floor in each area we stepped into.
Customers DO come out and throw tangled items into your hands which you must decode and match up to a specific color and size plastic ticket and hang it in such a way before it goes back out onto the floor all while helping someone who is in line next waiting on a fitting room. One rude customer can mess up an entire line, because you spend time fixing what ever mess they just made. I love the team that I'm with we are all very friendly at Ross, I'm sorry for those who deal with rude employees at whatever Ross they've encountered but that is definitely not true for all of the stores.
--Paulina B at Ross in Orlando W Sandlake
I work for Ross and I must say I agree with everything this customer has just said. It is a horrible place to work let alone shop! My first day there I could not believe the way the employees treated the customers. Just trying to get their money and shovel them out of the store. And they never smiled and were constantly rude! I personally got 5 minutes of training and then was thrown on a register and left by myself to cope. To say the least the way they run their business is horrendous! I started looking for new employment my 2nd day there. I've worked in many customer service fields not once have I seen such disrespect and blatant disregard for how the customers viewed the employees and overall store then when I worked at Ross.
Are you kidding me? It's either you get your god damn item or not. Go to freaking Kmart.
Ross employees are constantly cleaning up the store and I have watched many customers take items off the hanger and throw clothes either on the floor or over the rack. It seems to me that the customers are to blame. They are unjustly assuming that workers have nothing else to do but clean up after you. If customers come in the store they should expect to pick up after themselves or be thrown out in the worst case . If you went into a high end store would you go and do what you do in Ross? I assume you wouldn't.
The price you pay overall for a discount brings in a lot of customers therefore more people that trash our stores. The higher the price less customers, lower and more customers. So to blame the employees who can't control or ask a customer to pick up after themselves is just a fallacy that comes from you angry in this situation. I do not blame you for being upset but I do think it's not right to be angry at the store. Maybe instead of expecting someone else to clean up your mess clean it up yourself and ask others to do so. So you seen it is like living with a rebellious teen who doesn't do what mother ask especially cleaning their room.
I think that maybe one day customers will pick up after themselves but until that day expect the store to be in such a messing teens room stage.
Two of my family members work at the Lincoln and Venice Ross in CA. and I very much disagree. The store is know to be THE best in costumer service, they really are, they even received T-shirts for. It's unfortunate that you have had the terrible luck of having to visit the bad ones but You should not judge all of them by that. I'm hoping to get a job there my self.
As it was mentioned the employees work very hard to try to please you, and I hate to sound like I'm bragging but it's the honest truth, my mother and sister are their best workers. The store constantly looks super neat, and the DO stay until the late hours to have it clean by the next morning, I would know I pick up my mother and they aren't let out until the store is spit spot clean. They get out even LATER in the Christmas season.
I highly suggest trying out other places, as the prices are worth it, and as Malia mentioned, try to be a decent costumer your self by doing the things Malia Mentioned .
Bless you Malia. And to add to your list:
When you take something off a a hanger put it back on, don't bring out a pile of clothes tangled in their own hangers and toss them into the arms of the fitting room clerk.
If you pull a piece of clothing off the rack then put it back on the rack. It's not hard, the racks right in front of you. Why do you insist on tossing the whole garment over the top of the rack so it covers the other clothes, gets tangled and ends up on the floor.
You want to try on shoes, no problem, but is it too much to ask that you set them back on the shelf, right there in front of you, instead of leaving them on the floor?
The fitting room is not a baby changing room. That's what the bathrooms are for. And if for some reason you must change your baby there in the fitting room, then at least have the decency to take the soiled diaper out with you. (I've found used menstrual pads left in the fitting rooms as well, considering blood and bodily fluids are involved that's not just disgusting it's potentially dangerous!)
I agree with you there malia, I used to work for ross. And when we closed the store, we would cleaned up the entired store and it is very tiresome.
Both are to blame employees and customers too.
Hi! I am an employee at Ross,
I agree with the fact the store may look gruesome at times (and in some cases all the time), but employees are not all to blame for this problem. Ross Employees have to work gruelling hours, sometimes overnight, just so that the store can look very nice for customers. Try going right when the store opens, to see what I mean. I'm sick and tired of hearing/reading complaints from customers as though Employees are all to blame for the mess aroung the store! Some customers would just come into the stores and trash it like its their own place. Come on people have some respect for everyone else!
We are not lazy in cleaning up the store, it's just tiring to constantly clean-up and have customers continually ruin what you just finished organizing. Have you ever experienced that? It's like cleaning after your kids, leaving for a few seconds, and then seeing everything you cleaned up on the floor again. Thats how its like day to day. Its like cleaning after little kids! I personally adore kids, but adults that act like them are not exactly cute. At least kids can be taught to obey and be disciplined to listen, but adults would just complain, whine, and sue.
In regards to the complaints about "rude" employees. You cannot actually be a happy camper when you constantly see mess everywhere even after you clean up the areas. WE Employees are NOT robots! We're human beings! Yes I know it is store policy to greet customers and approach them with a smile, but can you blame us for being tired? At times we are just so tired on the job that it is hard to smile the whole time, but we will help you to the best of our abilities. I do not speak for the Employees who are just downright cruel and have no people skills, No! I'm speaking for those who are nice and kind; those who just can't help but frown sometimes because of fatigue and overwork.
This is NOT to serve as a complaint. It is to open the minds of many who shop at Ross and give them a sense of what we Employees have to go through with everyday. This is a plea to RESPECT the HARDWORKING ROSS EMPLOYEES and the job that they work in.
HELP STOP THE ONGOING RIDICULE AND BELITTLEMENT OF THESE ROSS EMPLOYEES--HELP KEEP ROSS CLEAN, by:
- putting back the stuff that you dont want to buy instead of leaving them anywhere around the store
- keeping an eye on your kids and not letting them run around the store
- leaving sealed packages closed, the way they should be
- urinating in the restrooms instead of in the fitting room, on the floor, in jars, and/or containers
- etc.
In return we will continue to better serve you as our valued customers, with a continual smile on our face and saying "Thank you for shopping at Ross!" before you leave.
how to get heard at ross
The first thing is to calm down. The more you rant, the less inclined the employee will be to help you. The more you rant, the more they want to just shut you up and get you to move on.
Ask for the district manager. There are other managers in the store, but they're mostly troubleshooters. If he/she is not there, write them a note stating your concern BRIEFLY and asking them to call you by a certain time. Tell the DM specifically what action you want taken: "I want a full refund," or "I want you to speak with the associate about the proper way to handle this situation, and I want you to let me know when you've talked to him/her."
I like Ross, but they under staff purposely, in order to save money on payroll. So we are in a constant state of rushing and don't have enough time to keep the store tidy or clean. I have been admonished for trying to clean the (nasty) keyboard on my register. I was told, "We don't have enough time to clean." I want thing to change, too, so get your voice heard at Ross corporate!

I was employed @ the ross on commercial and dixie, off oakland park blvd. My manager went on vacation mrs. J. Martinez. The day before spring break I found out it was spring break so I asked my assistant manager what to do?"She said well do what you have to do" I told her I have always been home with my children so this was never a problem for me.I wrote a letter stating that due to lack of knowledge and having no child care that I will not be able to attend work for the week of spring break and that I apologize for the inconvenience. My assistant manager approved it and I took the week off. When the manager returned from spring break she fired me before spring break was over so I called Mr.Volger from corporate office. He was supposed to Talk to J.Martinez because the assistant manager told the manager that she approved the week of spring break but j. martinez fired me even after hearing the truth. I wanted justice for her unprofessional actions. Mr.Volger never called back!I saw a ex-coworked who informed me of a number to call the complaint on no-good managers, so I called a young lady named Beth, she too has never called me back! So I decided until I can get a new job I would file for unemployment,so I did. Today I get a letter in the mail stating that I did not have proper authorization for an absence(this is a lie!) so they denied me. I want to fight this how can I get help for this situation FAST, because J.Martinez is lieing and J.Williams told her the truth in my presents and now she has LIED to government. This has got to be illegal and I need a professional to help me on this discredit of an honest persons characteristics and honor that is undeserved based on some womens spiteful, disrespectful and unprofessional character!I need HELP ME HOWARD!

I am a Ross employee at anew store that has only been open for a year and a half.I recently got a yearly review for a first time raise since time of hire which has been from the beginning. To my surprise due to the minimum wage increase i only got 3 cents higher than a new hire because Ross chose to give raises before the increase.I am a dedicated employee who never calls in and is always willing to stay over when needed.I feel as if my dedication has gone unnoticed.
Find someone at you local unemployment that you can talk to. My friend was fired from Wal-Mart a year ago and was initially denied unemployment. But she re-applied and talked to someone there and the second time around she got her due.

Re: firing. Did you make a copy of the letter ? Did you get the approval in writing? If so, then those are your proofs to unemployment, otherwise its your word against their word. And no, its not right.

I'm currently employed at a Ross store and yes, they really need to stop being so dishonest. One of my managers had made a racism comment towards me, which I will be reporting to HR, however from reading your complaint I have no hope that it will even go through to them.
I agree with Nicole that they need to hire people who know how to speak the English language, instead of hiring people who only know how to speak Spanish; it's very difficult and I can't even communicate with the co-workers because like 70% of them know only Spanish...
The store needs better employees the hire allot of customer service workers that speak very little or no English I was an employee there and I was one of the very few who can speak English It really ticked me off one day and quit because they kept having meetings in Spanish and I did not know what they were talking about and they had there nerve to ask me to at least pay attention I told them I didn't understand and they should speak in English.
worst place, rudest people!
I went to the Ross store on 75th Avenue and Bell in Arizona today and I found a white skirt and there was no price on it. I went up to the line and there were 20 people standing and the lines were not moving and asked someone if they knew where I could go to find out the price of the skirt. She told me that I would have to wait my turn in line and then I...

It is so painful that I have to write this, for I love the products at Ross, but the shopping experience is all but pleasant. No matter what time of day you enter some of their stores, especially those in Florida (I have shopped Ross from Ocala to Pembroke Pines and Miramar) you will find floors littered with merchandise, broken items on the floor, empty...

I took my 4-yr old daughter to do some shopping at Ross (333 Ward Ave., Honolulu, HI 96814) on 10/21/06. She found a Winnie the Pooh chair/table set to be very cute. The set is approximately 3 x 3, and weights 25 pounds. Anyway, it is both bulky and heavy esp. when you have to take care of a little kid, and I am barely make 5 ft. After I struggled to slide the set on the shopping cart bottom, and went to the cashier; The cashier (associate #432577) stated that she could not scan the set because the way the set was in the cart. I asked if she could help to move it up to inside the cart so that I could pushed it to the parking lot, where my car was.
She said:" you can do it. Just bring it up!"
I said:" I can't do it, can you help?" Note: I am a person who doesn't ask for help al least I really need it. I happen to have weak wrist that I should not carry heavy items.
Unwillingly and with a long face, she finally move her body and came around to my cart, and dump the set flat on top of the cart.
I said" " I needed it inside the cart safely so that I can take it to the parking lot."
She ignored me.
I managed to move it inside the cart. Pls note that by putting the set flat on top of the cart, the set could fall down and hit anybody who might walk by. Do not forget that the top of the cart goes downward. I asked her if she could put the set inside the cart. Then she turned out to be very upset and angry.
"You can't take the cart to the parking lot! She raised her voice:" I can't scan the box now"
Well, I didn't know that. I moved the box and dumped it on the counter and returned the shopping cart to where it belonged.
When I was signing the sale slip, I dropped my credit card on the counter when she asked to see it.
She was telling me that I was throwing things around, and called Chris, manager on duty for attention. She told Chris that I was throwing things around.
I was totally caught off guarded for her to say that. I guess the unreasonable people always has the first LOUD word.
"I did not!" I replied.
"yes, you did. We have a video camera." She answered confidently.
I told the manager what happened but he didn't say a word.
I dragged the set to my car and came back to say to the manager:" I haven't started complaining about yet, but she had to complain about me first. This is another thing I am not happy about."
"I know." Chris said.
How to fix the problem? Fire her, and a $50 gift cert.
Everyone should do what you say... you have baby. Not by choice... you just have one, you chose to take shopping with you. I would suggest a more expensive retailer for the service you deserve.
I will never return to this store
I went to Ross for Less on Tunnel road in Asheville, NC today after i worked a 12hr shift. I was in line to make a return. I was behind a lady that had a purchase. The manager told the floor supervisor that she had to do my return. The manager asked me if i wanted to look around before i did my return, i said no. So she told me i had to get in line. I wa...

Location of this Ross store is San Jose, CA located on Curtner Willow Glen area.

I am not happy with my management, Shawntain Gomillion is a INCOMPETENT store manager, and she is a lazy person who is a liar. HOW DID ROSS/DAVID SILVERMAN a District Manager, and whoever else allowed her the position of a brand new store in Levittown, Pa. store#1130. I just dont understand HOW she got where she is today! IF SOMEONE IN ROSS HEADQUARTERS IS READING THIS, I AM ABOUT TO CONTACT A LAWYER. MY PAYROLL IS ALL SCREWED UP AND IT BETTER BE TAKEN CARE OF ASAP! Today I find out that Shawtain never put an inquiry about my payroll issue until Ann Petre got her on the phone! This has been a ongoing situation for over 4 weeks now! I am tired of the aggrevation and BS Shawtain has given me!

Hello my name is Robert Cogossi @ store #1130 Levittown Town Center, (associate #[protected] Thimbleberry Ln. Levittown, Pa.19054. My phone # [protected]. I AM NOT ONE TO DO THIS...I have been in retail over 20yrs. I am greatly sadden to address that I have dismissed myself today @ 1:45pm.Aug. 14th 2009 due to the ongoing unprofessionalism, mistreatment, and disrespect that comes directly from the management team. I am not alone and I could guarantee you several other employees would COMPLETELY back me up. I was very excited to come work for Ross, I have bit my tongue on several occasion. Ever since the store opened the moral, attitude, and atmosphere is NOT all what it is suppossed to be. I had a bad vibe from the get go. From day to day schedules to no schedules being posted, day to day changes on how to to do things up front, no communication, disrespect, to requesting an FES manual which I never received on how to better understand my job, to my pay rate which is 1.75 less than the rate I was hired at and have NOT YET received a retro differential check. Employees coming to me about the way Shawntain, Nanci, and Demaras talk to them threatening their jobs an are afraid to say something cause they are afraid to get fired- Customers cursing at me at checkout waiting too long in line-the disrespect we are given in front of a customer and the list goes on. No communication-its disorganized-no wonder speed transactions are slow at the register. I don't know the true aspect of a FES cause the job duties and supervision I took on have been slowly taken away. Why? At this point the mangement does not care about nothing but themselves, not even the employee and the customer. My experience at Ross has been nothing but aggrevation and stress-for the money I am making its not worth it? I do the best I can when I work and the mgmt. is never happy its always a negative atmosphere/comment right from the opening to set the moral for the day. I called David Silverman on Aug 7th told him what was going on...no reply nothing! I called corp/payroll on Aug. 8th left msg. again no reply. What I am I to think? As per conversation with(Aaron)another associate(SPS) who also called corp. no one knew our pay was a problem and they we're not happy about the situations. There were comments made about the cashiers and myself directly and that "something was going to be done about it" was this a "threat" about my job/our jobs? The comment was clear from Shawntain. FED-X comes in, I page a MOD for a signature, Markesha(cash office/Cashier) is on the register, Shawntain calls for Markesha on the phone tells her to sign for it(not a mgr) Aren't all deliveries that come through the front door to be signed by a MGR? Am I not a SUPERVISOR? and am I not TRUSTED by my store MGR to sign for a package? What message are you sending me?What is up with that? I page for a voucher(no receipt) the customers always get frustrated cause now they have to WAIT (this is customer satisfaction?)..Ashley Diggs (stock supervisor) (not a mgr) comes up with a key at this point I have had a few returns in a row I get the voucher the customers address a comment as Ashley leaves... "Is she a Mgr?, she is not too pleasant is she, and I cannot believe the way she is dressed, with her pants pulled down below her butt a t-shirt, and a baseball cap on her head, I can't believe your company allows that.." What I am to say?(Actually the dress code really is not enforced here-other customers have said about other employees about their dress appearance) Well, I needed another voucher(no receipt) for next customer I page Ashley up she comes and goes directly to the phone next to me and in front of the customer and calls Shawntain...customer still waiting..."HE NEEDS ANOTHER ONE...Shawtain says" for the same customer" "NO" is the reply..."for what then?" I get the voucher and WELL at this point I am COMPLETELY EMBARASSED-the customer CANNOT BELIEVE how that went! So just in the past what 10-15 mins what impression Ross sending to the customers WOW!-this is definetely not the first time this has happened! Well, that was it for me I am not gonna put up with the BS that goes on-its not worth it! I locked my register and went to the office and told Shantain "I quit." PLEASE, I am REQUESTING ALL MY CHECKS to be sent directly to my home address which is listed above. I do not want to go back to the store. Its a shame, this store will not make it if this continues. I hope this is addressed. Thank you, Ann for listening to me and as a courtesy, could you call me to let me know about my paychecks-I would GREATLY appreciciate it! Sincerely, Robert Cogossi
