I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the way you shoprite taking us for granted in your stores especially in the locations and no hiring enough staff especially during month ends .We go to there after work we cannot stand for more than an hour before we can be served even your cashiers at that time are few and very exhausted with load of work at paying points. This its not because of the schedule they are short staffed at olievenhoutbosch store. I go there every time as I'm a baker and after work and I see and its same staff all month. I need to go RAMA I had to live them yesterday because of queues.

On 30/4/23 had a cashier by name nontsikelelo. Been very rude to me when I wanted to pay. Of which I was already been in line. Just that I had to go to the isles. Because of their wrong merchandising. When I asked her can I ring my maize meal. She just stared at me... I asked why you just staring at me... She then said i'm closed... Proceeded to laugh. I felt like such fool. So disrespectd. Cashiers at shoprite don't have manners. They behave like we in a clinic. Or public hospital or something... Like they doing us a favour..

On the 8th of April at about 9am, I went to shoprite to buy food containers that were reduced and placed on the reduced items shelf. I was with a friend whom we both wanted the same items but the other set of containers did not have the red sticker but was placed in the priced to go shelf, so when we went to pay Betty Moahlodi came to authorise. By then we didn't know she's the manager. So she said she wasn't going to authorise the set I was holding because there was no red sticker then I said I found it on the priced to go shelf and her responding with an attitude saying and I quote " I said I won't authorise " then she left us standing there as if we are crazy. I then asked the cashier if Betty was fetching the manager and the cashier responded by saying, the woman who left is the manager. I walked up to her to ask again if she was going to do what's right because as a customer it's within my right to get the product with the reduced price as it was on the priced to go shelf and again being arrogant, rude and disrespectful she continued to give me an attitude telling me she said she won't do it and there's no one who's gonna make her do it and I told her that I was going to report her, to my surprise her response was she doesn't care. What drove me to the edge was her saying to her colleagues and I quote " she's even wearing a church uniform " which means I was not supposed to ask her to do her job simply because I was wearing my church uniform. My friend and I decided to leave because things were getting ugly. Had I not left it would've ended up with us being physical as I had also lost control of my temper due to the level of disrespect I got from someone who's a manager, who should know what customer care is.
Desired outcome: I would like for her to be demoted, as she doesn't know what customer care is, she's not the right person to deal with customers. Yes I would like for to apologise because she had absolutely no right to treat m in that manner.
Ill treatment and rude behavior by a manager
On Thursday late afternoon 20 April 2023 I went for shopping at a Shoprite in Hammanskraal,which I have shopped at for the past eight years. I got very pressed emanating from bladder problem. I humbly requested a for a toilet, a young gentlemen took me to a lady called Tebatso who said she is the shop manager. I humbly requested to use a toilet, she very arrogantly responded by saying "I won't give you a toilet." I tried to negotiate because of the prissiness I was going through. She kept responding rude and arrogantly saying she can't allow me to the toilet.
I asked if I should leave the shop and go, she said she does not care that's not her shop. I was very devastated by the fiasco I experienced at Shoprite.
Desired outcome: Disciplinary action on their employee and capacitating her on customer relations.

I am hoping you are well, I bought the product stated above in Shoprite centre Atlantis. I got food poison and spent 2 hours in the toilet naked and very sweating and my stomach was grumbling having a runny stomach.
Today I went back to the store to file a complaint with the manager but the way he handled it is very unprofessional also not sympathising with the matter at hand, his only concern was the slip and the product but not the health of the customer. I am very sadned about this matter and I can not continue to shop in a store like that. The health of the customers comes first, my kidneys are paining me and I am very weak.
Please attend to this matter, because food poison is not a joke and why spend money at the market only to make you ill.

On the 11 april 2023 i have bought something at shoprite so the card that i have give them first I forget the pin so i took the other one then I purchased when i get home and open my app a sms came in then R70 on their same card that they said it was not working was out at shoprite then I went back to confront them they told me to wait for same days it will came back again but nothing have change since that day
Sanitary pads
I went to ekukhabyeni shoprite to buy sanitary pads I went to the shelves got there and there were pads in infront of them the big price saying buy them with a shoprite smart card for R14 instead of the R27 took them swapped my card they were still the same price I asked the cashier and she said it's the blue ones not those one's and I was like but the price was infront of these ones how come they called someone she said she must go look for the price we did go together me and the guy when we got we found the pads I took and the price stick hanged over them went back to the tills he told the cashier that I was correct but the cashier didn't wanna ring up my pads then the guy apparently his the manager took the pads back to the shelves left me hanging at the tills I asked the cashier is he coming back she simply said with an attitude I don't know go check for yourself I'm just a cashier I went back to look for the guy he was chatting with his colleagues and he got to him told him I'm waiting for pads and I wanna pay for the price I saw he was like go talk to that guy I said mo you can't toss me around like I'm some sort of a toy, you wasting my time you've kept me waiting and now you can't even help me and they gave me the pads but Maureen refused to authorize the sale for me mind you I've just come back from my night shift I'm tired and on my periods I wanted to buy pads quickly and go put one before I could dirty myself turns out they wasted more than 30 minutes of my time I even missed my bus now I have to wait for another 30 minutes before another one comes I'm tired and not feeling well I'm very disappointed with the service I got today cause I also work at a restaurant I know customers can be difficult and too demanding sometimes but what happened to me today you'd swear that they were the customer and I was the cashier very poor service even from management worse the cashier was wearing controller belt

5kg White star maize meal
I bought 2*5kg White star maize meal on Sunday (26/03/2023).
On the 27th we wanted to use it, but we then discovered there were worms in both bags.
On the 28th I sended the branch manager a message a message asking the process of return with a video attached of the product and what it looks like but no luck, I called the branch but was told he is on leave with no help still

Deli butchery and bakery food
Maokeng mall is selling expired food of which is not good. They should always check their food. If things are about to expire they should remove them from the shelves and give customers healthy and fresh food. I once bought lamb chops which were expired again bought Russian and chips that were also expired and now again I bought cake with ultramel that's also not in a good state. They should stop selling food that out of date to people
Desired outcome: Take off expired food from the shelves and make sure they check their shelves daily.

To say that iam upset is an understatement iam pissed and furious by the appalling and incompetence I get each time shopping at your stores baramall shopritein particular ,iam sick first and foremost I have left behind a more frail and sickly person who'd be runninh erands under normal circumstances then I get the [censored]ing arrogance from your so called store manager Soloman Shai if you place people in positions and they lack empathy and humanity you might as well close your doors because I can assure you other retail stores beat your customer experience which has gone to the dogs to say tge least ,see iam starting to question if you place people in management by their qualifications or if you just go and pick from your so called cashiers and place them in positions ,your manager is useless to say the least no customer centricity whatsoever I just feel like he's a parrot who repeats the same thing over and over,your incompetence is out of this world not even local spaza shops give such horrible service a whole manager who has decency to argue with a client and even go as far as walking away from a consumer all he cares about is not being recorded or having his picture taken and splashed all over social media he cares less about the [censored]ty service and arrogance but is more concerned about me holding my phone what [censored] is this having the decency to tell me he will sue me,I will take this up further with anyone in the highest of your hierachy structure for all I can do myself is also open up defamation of character case the audacity to treat me like [censored] and the don't give a [censored] stinking attitude then also blutantly refuse getting the regional manager for me ,telling me the name of the regional manager and instead tells me I can go and lay a complaint on the shoprite website there's absolutely nothing he can do it's not shoprites problem it's the manufacturer problem and I must take it up with them as if I work for shoprite and know who your supplier is wow you see iam done with your store see me now,see me no more
essential combo's

i am very upset with going to a store where the products are not available and where i have to turn around everytime.
i feel that if you dont have the products stocked up then dont advertise the combo's, today shoprite didnt have the golden cloud flour available, yet they still awaiting on the flour. In the week they didnt have the yoghurts available as advertised on the combo's as well.
This is freakin sad it cost me loads of petrol to drive up and down. i normally buy these products to donate to the church and this is a very abrupt situation. I even spoke to the manger and all he can do is saying that they awaiting on stock, no customer skills are shown not even a negotable level is taken up. i am this far upset for the Shoprite situated in Avonwood.
i would like some compentation out of this consistent un reliable products.
Concerned staff member unhappy with favouritism
I've been employed in the company for a long time and value my job and position, however I'm disappointed that you have new staff who in the verulam dsc, because they have a relationship with an operation manager have favor over us,from being able to have time away to be granted differential behaviour because of there relationship with an operation manager, dissapointed because I have regarded my job in ShopRite as important and merit the company based on performance yet a new employee Lisa Jhugadesuar has been allowed privileges because she entertains one of the operation managers this isn't the company I joined and I hope that it's rectified.

I went to shoprite protea Glen mall today around 12... There's a cashier by the name of nosipho she was on till 3/4, that lady knows nothing about rendering a customer service instead she's full of stinky attitude as if she was forced to work... She was on till whereby she can assist if you less than 10 items, she saw that I was queue with a trolley full of items which were more than 10 items instead she called "next" I asked should I come to pay for my trolley on your till from a lil bit of distance and she said yes, when I got there she tells me that "I don't do more than 10 items" with attitude, and I was like but I asked and u said I can come, now tell me which till should I go to where they do assist with more than 10 items, again with attitude, she was like "I don't know" meaning I should just figure myself out mind you it's month end and the queues are crazy... After standing on a queue for a very long time to come get this shirty service, she doesn't deserve to be on customer service environment nxa

Rude and unfriendly cashier

I would like to lodge a complaint about a rude and unfriendly cashier at the Money Market in Checkers Southgate by the name of Marriam I didn't get her Surname as I was angry and disappointed with the service that my mother and I have received for her, she clearly did not want to assist us and it was like we were disturbing her and it is the second time my mother has received the disgusting service from this lady, on the pervious occasion my mom wanted to have money loaded on her Shoprite card as she previously worked for the company for 27 years which she has since retired she was rude to my mother and in a very disrespectful manner she tells my mother that she must swipe her own card because that's not her job to swipe her card. I don't know what her problem is but it seems she doesn't want to work anymore, if she continues her stinking attitude the company is going to be losing alot of customers please can this be resolved as soon as possible
Security search

I went to Shoprite Bela Bela on 28/12/2022 @13h17 As I was leaving the security guard grabbed my bag that my husband was carrying and started searching through it. He had no search warrant and had no right to touch my parcel without my permission. He then demanded my receipt, did not check it against the items in the bag and went on to stuff it into the bag instead of returning it to me. If Shoprite is going to abuse the clients in this way at least teach the staff manners and the correct way to deal with the public.
Please address this matter with the store. If you are going to do security checks, please go about it in the correct manner.

No trolleys available to do my shopping.
Good afternoon,
I do my monthly shopping at Checkers Shoprite, find it difficult because there are no trolleys available and if there is then you have to battle to push it. I could not do my Christmas Shopping at Shoprite as there are no trolleys.
You get people in front of the door with other shop trolleys and want R20.00 to use that trolley which is fraud. The Securities are afraid of these people they just stand do nothing about it.
The area is Richards Bay.
You will lose a lot of customers because of no trolleys.

Bad Service, Bad Attitude and lack of Empathy
My experience at Shoprite Pretoria North was awful. I went at the money market to pay for my policy and instead of getting service i went back home feeling belittled, angry and felt less of a human being.
I was alone at the Que at 13:20 on Sunday 04th December and Ofenste Ramaswe was not willing to help and kept frowning looking at me for about 15 minutes. I asked for service and she began to indicate that I should be waiting on the que as she was busy cutting her nails. we only got service when l told her that l will write a complain to report her.
I feel people with such an attitude do not deserve to work and it indicates laziness.

Potato Fries
Good day
It's been over six months of going to various Shoprite branches and not finding potato fries. This has caused an inconvenience in my life as a loyal Shoprite customer. My son insists on having fries in his school lunch and this hasn't been possible because of them being out of stock. Rite brand fries were the most affordable and in the economic situation that we are all in I'm sure you would agree with me that this is a financial setback. Recently even other brands are unavailable and there is not set explanation to clients or even an apology.

I was at Shoprite Cloverdene on the 25th of November 2022 to get cash from M number so I didn't receive any good service, cashier by the name Sindy was very rude and impatient. She gave me attitude. I had left my ID in the car so I asked if I should get it from the car her response was 'father god' then rolled her eyes on me. I spent more than 30 min with no help because she required the name of the person who sent me money I told her then requested the Surname of which I was not too sure about. Then I tried to call my mom to assist she kept on talking with attitude. She was too forward, poor customer service and she didn't even have a solution for me when I asked which steps to follow for me to get the refund.
Security guard and his manager
Month end of October I went to buy at shoprite as I approach the security guard he told me that am not allowed to come out with the trolley I asked him how am I supposed to carry a grocery of R2000 with my hands I didn't buy buy plastic because I came with a car he started verbally harassing me infront of other customers like I did something wrong when I insisted going our wirh the trolley he than took my stuff of my trolley telling me I will get them when I returned the trolley back inside the store I did that I went to call the manager at shoprite he tried talking to him. The manager told me to contact the manager of the security guard I told her told her my problem she than said she will look at the footage and tell me the feed back by the end of the day. I sent her a watsapp massage asking about the feed back she became rude telling me that she is still busy investing after wards she ignored my messages. My biggest problem now when I came for shoprite for shopping the security guard looks at me with an attitude I don't feel safe and happy because of the treatment I got
Desired outcome: I want justice for the poor experience i got the security guard must be fired of given a written warning
