Policy payments for Channel Life
A mother of a deceased son made payments through Vosloorus Shoprite Chris Hani Mall (South Africa), we presume that payments failed since beginning of 2019. The insurance policy lapsed sometime in 2019, only to realize now when she submits a claim in July 2022.

The branch manager is not interested in helping with payments details for the last 2 - 3 months and claims that he doesn't have head office and customer care office contact details.
Desired outcome: We need payment data as from Jan 2019 to date so we can submit to the insurer (proof of payments)
withdrawal of monies
I have gone several times these past months to several different Shoprite and Checkers outlets where I wished to withdraw money from the cashiers. 9 times out 0f 10 I would be told that there is no money. Why advertise at every till point that customers can withdraw money but no money available.
Please remove those notices from your till points as this is misleading.
Desired outcome: I would appreciate a response as to how this can be resolved as we waste time standing in long lines just to be told sorry no money
Aggressive staff
I'm a customer that shops at Shoprite regularly. This evening I went there to shop for a few items, as I was leaving, the security leaned too close to my face and I moved away because he was making me uncomfortable. He then started laughing at me for moving away and I told to get away before I get annoyed and he started cussing at me for that. He said vile words I wish not to repeat. I was so distraught that I quickly left without even getting his name. I don't feel comfortable shopping there anymore if this is the harassment customers face.
Desired outcome: For him to apologize to me or be moved to a different store because I am afraid of him and I feel uncomfortable
Pricing
Went to shoprite tsakane Square. The price for banana was priced at R9.99 a kilo but the scale was still charging customers R12. 99. Meaning the customer been mislead and robbed by their false advertising. We told the staff about it but the Lady was rude and was unhelpful. This took place on the 24 August 2022 in the afternoon. Shoprite profited by misleading its customers

Good morning Sir /Madam..
I'm a concerned customer of Shoprite Meadowlands (Ndofaya). It's saddening I have to travel to Shoprite Dube for brown baked bread, whenever I ask why they prepare a few loaves when they know that most people are dependant on it because of the high cost of food.. I once laid a complaint at the Shoprite head office. The problem subsided. It has since restarted since last year, please look into it because most people are unemployed and depend on buying the R5. Another thing is the service they give at the tills especially month end.. Old citizens have to wait in long stationery ques.

Re: incident which happened on the 25 July between 7-8pm at Shoprite, BlueDowns.
Attached is the statement I left with Shoprite Acting manager lastnight as well, doctors report, medical certificate, and bill from the doctor. She assisted me by giving me 1 heat patch, small deep heat and 1 spray.
I will be taking this matter further, as this could have been avoided. The cleaning of the walkways is in a terrible condition and is a danger to any customer. Even after I had fallen no cleaner was alerted to move towards the area to have the floor cleaning. Even a half hour later it had still not been cleaned.
The staff are not trained to deal with this type of situation, nor are they willing to show compassion if a customer has hurt themselves. Instead, I had a casual who was packing sugar onto the shelves and let the sugar drop onto the floor and making the area slipperly which you could not immediately pick up as the tiles are white. After asking him the first time to call a manager, he politely continued with his packing of the shelves and ignored me. I had to then raise my voice and ask this casual to find his manager again before someone appeared to assist me.
I am now forced to be home because of the swelling on my back and even more concerned that when the pain injection wear’s off, how much more pain I still have. This means I will not be at work for a few days as I must assess the damage and manage the pain.
Shoprite is a well-established company, and the cleaning of the floors or shops should be a top priority as this is health and safety risk. Clearly this is not taken serious by this branch as per the attached pics.
It is my intention to ensure that this does not happen to another person, currently I don’t know how this fall will affect me physically going forward.
Desired outcome: A response from management regarding the complaint and to find out who will compensate me for the poor service provide by shoprite.
Complaining about bakery at shoprite Protea Glen at Protea Glen Mall
The shop rite baker at shop rite baker has been a hassle to get the R5 bread, the bakers are disrespectful to customers and refuse to deliver the brown bread on shelves as stated in their schedule, due to its high demand, they have been found to hide the bread for countless times making the line for it tremendously huge because of its demand, when we ask for it, they are extremely disrespectful and use smug comments of the buyers being poor although they bake that bread on a daily basis, they're services are extremely poor, which is worse because it's done deliberately to prove a point that we are still yet to know of, and the manager is doing nothing about it, instead motivates that kind of behavior...
Desired outcome: The bread should be made in larger amounts as there is a high demand in the place of origin as well as notify the staff to be civil to the customere
Russell hopps kettle
I bought a kettle Russell hopps at Jabulani Shoprite last year May, now it's not working and the warranty is two year but in the store they couldn't help me they told me to contact Russell hopps website.
Now as I bought that kettle from shoprite they show contact Russell hopps not me, I find this unprofessional for the store manager failing to provide a outstanding customer service
Desired outcome: I want them to change that foulty kettle
Bad service and verbal abuse from staff
07/07/2022 16:00 Shoprite Mount Edgecombe my wife and I had an altercation with a staff member at the butchery. We waited 39mins for a blockman to cut me a half lamb but when he arrived he told us he is only helping shoprite and this is not his job. I went to management twice only to be harrased by a customer who took it upon herself to defend the staff member. She verbally assaulted me saying I should not have complained to the manager. I will Not shop at a shoprite ever again. This was my first and last visit to Shoprite.
Desired outcome: I want the staff member to apologize to me and the manager who attended to the situation be trained in dealing with these type of situations
Ottimo Sanwich Maker
In October 2021 I purchased a Ottimo Sandwich Maker , I don't use it very often but early this year I noticed that the bread stick to the plates and when I want to lift the bread the whole plate came loose , I returend the item in April to Shoprite Pelican Park and wanted a refund but was told it was out of the 6 months period.The manager had an attitude when I returned the item , he exchange for a new one low and behold the the same thing happened , now the bread stick to the plates I sit with half the bread to eat and the other half stuck to the sandwich maker , bread is already so expensive and now I can't even eat my full sandwich and I won't be able to make a sandwich when my son want to take to school, I even started to use foil so the bread don't break but now I have to spend money on foil which is also expensive , I don't think it's is fair ,the item is really not up to standard and to make matter worse they charged me for 2 items and I only took one, I nver checked my slip in October 21 only in April when I wanted to return Isaw I was charged twice so you can imagine my anger that not only is the item defective but I was overcharged ,then I could have purchased a decent product at Click or Makro.I am really dissapointed in the product ,make no mistake I won'r even buy any appliance at shoprite .The item in question was R249.99 and I was charged R499.98,Regards Lucy

Bad service at Checkers Waterfall corner
I went to buy groceries at Waterfall corner Checkers,the lady who was helping me was rude to the customer before me she was busy saying to the old man his sassa card doesn't have money(speaking at the top of her voice for everyone on the line to hear). When my turn came she noticed that I was using an Rcs card, she caused a scene for me acting like I'm a suspicious fraudster, she shouted across the shop to her manager (Ayanda) telling her that I'm using a RCS card, I explained to her that the Rcs card I have is a new card that has a pin and I can give her my ID so that she can verify, she then said "ahhy I don't even think your card has money, it says R86 and your stuff is R85.. Ahy ahy ahy I don't know" with an attitude in her tone.. I understand that the old rcs cards had problems because people were committing fraud but the manner of approach I got in the store and the disrespect I got is disappointing.. The manager "Ayanda" came, she didn't even greet me she took my card and ID then left, she came back and told me to sign looking at me from top to bottom. I feel so ashamed and disappointed, I walked out of that store with customers looking at me knowing that I'm that lady with an Rcs card... I was assisted by a lady who wore a name badge written Sindisiwe but the slip is written I was helped by Nonhlanhla vilakazi.
Desired outcome: I would also like the Checkers team to make their stuff aware that the new RSC cards require a pin but however if they are unsure they can ask for the customer ID respectfully and let the customer know that they are verifying the details
Shoprite staff incompetence
I have just returned home from the Shoprite in the town centre by the library. The numbers at the end of my receipt is COO48 #0021 16:21:10 300522 S002581 R20
The till lady's name was Esethu Gana.
I purchased two bulk bags of Toilet paper by another store and as we entered the Shoprite store, I instructed my brother to open our bag for the security to check and the proceeded to cello tape the bags handles with blue tape. Firstly, we were shopping and then approached by another shopper asking us to purchase their goods (gave us a whole sob story) when we got to the till and paid for this persons stuff and then for our goods, we were outside the shop when a security guard stopped me by grabbing my arm and speaking in another language with someone over the walkie talky he had, I told the guy what the hell are you doing and he said I must wait, I said why did you grab my arm and he proceeded to say I must wait. Another arrived and accused me of being a thief, because he says the camera caught me opening my bag at the till and what is in my bag. I told this [censored] that your camera should have seen that the bag was sealed when we entered and only opened in front of the Till lady to put the other plastic bags, while I was showing him the toilet paper we bought and he saw the groceries I just purchased. Shoprite staff at this branch should have a case made against them because if your cameras caught me opening the bag at the till to put my groceries in, why did the cameras not catch the security at the entrance looking in the bag and then sealing it close? I want to have the manager and his staff dealt with and that includes the security Shoprite hires because I will not be treated like a criminal and have your stores making money from me and how many other customers treated like [censored].

Lamb Prices of R89 per Kilogram at Checker Hyper N1 City
Checkers ran a special on their whole lamb prices for R89 per Kilogram on the weekend of 20 to 23 and 27 to 30 May 2022: After me going to a couple of Checkers Hyper branches on 20 to 23 May I went to N1 City Branch and spoke to the Perishables Manager who took down my details and informed me when the special will run again he will call me. I received no calls from him and on Sunday 30 May I called the Branch Manager and informed him that I left my details with the perishable Manager the previous week, he even took down my cell number and how I wanted the lamb to be cut up. As I was plus minus 130Km away from N1 City and in Langebaan I thought I could get a rain checked but was informed that I cannot get a rain checked and it only whilst stock last. You can call both these Managers to confirm my conversations with them.
Desired outcome: I would like an apology from both these gentleman and if I can get the lamb price for R89 per Kilogram as advertised on those two weekends.
No cashiers are helping bag your order since the new bag rule
Shoprite cashiers are not helping bag your order, even after I complained. The new bag Rule has done this . Shoprite front end managers are not watching. Elderly people need assistance. Shame on Sager shoprite. Since the new bag rule not one cashier has helped me bag my shoprite order
I called Sager Shoprite a week ago to complain. The front end manager called me last Monday. Went food shopping this past Saturday in East brunswick. Still no help bagging. This is a big problem. I am not that young and I don't mind helping bag my order but not all of it
The cashier just stands there and watches you bag your order.

At 15 may 2022, I bought a 1kg Glover bliss double cream yogurt #hazelnut flavor at van der walt shoprite, and it was so disgusting, it has brown sticky things inside

I went to Shop at Shoprite Brown Street Nelspruit on Saturday 14th May and needed a Peter styvesant carton cigarettes, sent the security guard to find out whether the store have one, when he asked the lady manager, she didn't know the price, kept walking around, not interested at all in finding out, not friendly, no time for a customer, the security guard and I had to chase after her begging for answers, address this please because I went out the store without answers

Sub-standard service rendered at shoprite kwaggafontein
Good day,
I visited the branch (Shoprite Kwaggafontein) on 10 May 2022 time 15:00 card no [protected] to buy groceries only to find on the clearance table there was glass jars priced R6,00.
She came and told me that Shoprite is not selling in bulk however she can only give me 3 of the Jar bottles for R6.99 and further brought in the special to elaborate her story which made no sense. Only then she went to the table and brought the price and said but the jar glasses that are in question were not suppose to be there and there those that are R6.00 I opted to leave all the jars as they were displayed on the table for R6.00
My concern is for the whole Branch Manager to provide sub-standard service and change her stories with confidence. The special is for RITEBRAND products not the jars in question. I really could not understand where it fits in.
I am truly disappointed by the excuse that was given to me. I took photos of what seem to be done wrong by the packers and resulted being my fault.

Saturday 7 may I went to shopprite in the morning to withdraw money from my intelimal app from the cashiers the cashier lamulile told me that she doesn't have money so I asked who has money can she be able to ask the other cashiers her response was 'hamba e pick and pay asinamali I told her that I cant go to pic and pay because I dont have a card at pic and pay you must have a card to make a withdrawal her response was 'bona ukuthi wenza njani angingeni ndawo mina lapho' she was saying all those things in front of the front controller and the front controller just kept quite she only assisted when I reported them to the manager I was told to wait outside they will tell me when they have money imagen after I waited in a long queue then lamulile gives attitude instead of telling me to simply wait outside to make withdrawal was that hard for to tell me that... I am not impressed by the service I got from her and mind you I was with my dad who is sick waiting for me to buy him medication at the pharmacy... Is that how cashiers are suppose to address us? Long queue @ Tsakane Corner
Yesterday, Sunday the 8th of May in the morning around 10:30 ,there was very long queue which could have been avoided. Only three till were functioning the whole shop.It was not first time,every weekend, month end and grant payment dates it's always like this and they act like everything is okay.
Desired outcome: All till should be open to avoid long queues

I am complaining about the bad service I recieved today at katlehong shopright as I was trying to access my nsfas funds but was told that nsfas called the shop and told them not to give us any funds i was assisted by a lady on the 1st till around 18:20 they said they said the store manager mr/mrs Mbuli told them she was not wearing a name tag same as the supervisor lady the casheir was dark with twist wig the supervisor was short,light in complection with short hair
