Steak 'n Shake bad customer service, bad food

We go to steak and shake quite often however Friday when we went we had a terrible experience. My husband and brother both ordered the 7x7 and our waitress kept telling them how mad our cook was going to be at us for them ordering it. When she came back for refills dude told them again how mad the cook was going to be. I ordered the new white truffle burger, the sauce that was on it tasted like it had been sitting out all day. When the guys got their burgers it was all deconstructed and on different plates because according to the waitress or didn't want to put it together and said we could just do it ourselves because we was too busy for that. Over very bad experience.

Steak 'n Shake over charged and called a liar.

On 6/14/18 i called in for a carry out order, told the order taker i wanted to order from the 2 for $3 value menu, she said ok, i ordered 2 mushroom & swiss burgers and 2 garlic fries, i was told there was a .49 cents upcharge for those and responded that was fine. I showed up got my order and left, was an extremely great deal and i was overly satisfied. Today, 6/16/18, i called the same location (1158 EAST ST.LOUIS ST, SPRINGFIELD MO) and tried to order again from the value menu, i was told that it was a "franchise" location and not a "Corporate" and they did not honor that promotion. I explained i had just ordered it 2 days prior at this same location, i was told i had to be lying and the shift manager even said they never have had that at this store, so i checked my bank account to confirm and i was charged full price for the food! So ultimately, i was led to believe i was getting the 2 for $3 promotion and then charged full price. Also i called all 3 locations in Springfield, MO and none of them honor this promotion. I am highly disappointed in the way this was conducted and will not be visiting any steak n shake for the foreseeable future, the way this was handled by 2 or 3 ambassadors of this company has lost them a regular customer.

Steak 'n Shake service

We went to Bradley Illinois Steak and Shake and ordered two burgers and two shakes. First problem was we waited over 15 minutes in the drive thru...which is somewhat forgivable when they are making burgers fresh. What is not forgivable is when you get warm shakes and cold burgers. Not kidding. It was terrible. The whipped cream on the shakes was completely melted and running down the sides of the cups and our burgers- meat, cheese and all- were cold.

Steak 'n Shake not complete meal and unprofessional attitude from associates

Had ordered 3 meals at the Rosemont, IL location last night June 16, 2018. All 3 meals were supposed to come with a drink never received any of the drinks, then we also requested a side of ranch that never was included in there either. One of the orders had the regular fries drink sandwich but the person also got an extra side of onion rings and that was not included in the bag as well. Another order was a meal and the sandwich was not what was ordered. Basically when we got the bag and opened it up we thought it was someone else's order because half of what we ordered was either wrong or not included. I understand it was a busy time of the night but that does not make it right to mess up an order that much. Not only that but the work associate seemed like he was making fun of us at the window, do not remember who it was. Two of the passengers were arguing in the car and during the time we were talking to them over the intercom and when we pulled up to the window the associate handling us made it seem like he was trying to hold back his laughter. I do not think that is professional and that has anything to do with his thoughts that is own personal issues that should not be handled by an associate like that. This is the worst experience I have ever had at steak and shake I do not know what can be done on your guys end, but I believe there should be some refund given in this regard for there was unprofessional going on towards a customer and half the order was missing/wrong. Please let me know what can be done that would be greatly appreciated.

Steak 'n Shake the service

I personally love steak and shakes good but the service was not the best. The 20 minute wait to get silver wear and a kids menus is very unfortunate because of amazing prizes and food. This is not the first inconvenience of this particular restaurant. I come to steak the minimum of 5-6 times a month and am very disappointed in the lack of good service .

Steak 'n Shake service at the store on bechtel ave springfield, ohio

The customer service when you walk in the door is awful. Everyone looked at us but no one said hello we will be right with you. It took about 8 minutes for someone to finally seat us. The table they say us at was wet and they never came back to dry it. The one girl just threw the menus in the middle of the wet table.

When our server came she was very nice. Her name was Sarah L. That was the only person that actually acknowledged us.

We saw a manager with a red shirt on and he never once acknowledged us he just kept on cooking. There needs to be a lot of training in customer service at this store. The girl at the register never looked up either.
The date is 6-15-18 time is 7:54pm

If my grandson didn't really want to eat here we would have walked out. The girl the register needs some customer service training.

Steak 'n Shake food and service

When I got my chili cheese fries to the table they were 95% beans and the chili had hardly any sauce and no meat. I couldn't get my waitress to address my question because the staff was too busy standing behind the bar laughing and playing with the manager. I'm top of not being able to get refills because our waitress has no interest in waiting on us.

Steak 'n Shake service and product

arrived at 4:00 p.m. only 2 customers in building waited 15 minutes before waitress arrived to take drink order waited
another 15 minutes for food order. I ordered Chili 3 ways edge of bowl was dried food from in microwave too long. 1/2 hour later waitress wanted to know if I wanted anything else or my bill I ordered a sunday but never received my bill had to go to counter for that. I arrived at 4:00 and left at 6:00 should have only taken max time of 1 hour at most for such short order.
Very disappointed probably won't go back.

Steak 'n Shake chili three way orders at the restaurant at 5300 n keystone, - indpls in

Unfortunately, I really like the chili three way dish but I always order it with extra meat and obviously am prepared to pay additional for that. The last two times which includes today, I have gotten home to find almost no meat at all. It's not the money as much as it is so maddening that the person who prepares the order could care less! In fact, there was so little meat on both of my orders for the three way, that I couldn't imagine a normal order being sufficient.

What is going on?

Steak 'n Shake wait staff

Our shakes came out wrong and a different waitress delivers then to our table. When we told her, she yelled at our waitress, Leah, where we could hear them. When she was done, she walked over to the menus, next to where we were sitting, and told the new waitress that she was training that she didn't like Leah. This put the new waitress in an awkward position and was highly inappropriate to say while on the floor near customers.

Steak 'n Shake milkshake

After waiting a while in the drive thru this is what a got...a half full milk shake. Ridiculous. This particular store in Mount Juliet TN is always slow. Now they are slow and they rip you off. The orders here always have to be double checked since they mess up all the time... someone needs to fix this restaurant! It's seems like your employees just don't care

Steak 'n Shake lack of customer service

Came into the Woodhaven, Mi Steak and Shake location on Allen Rd. around 9pm on June, 12th 2018 to order a take out order. Waited about 2 minutes, no one greeted us even though the sign for sit in customers said "please wait to be seated" . I grabbed my own menu, looked it over after sitting at the counter. After about 10 minutes all together after walking in, deciding what we wanted to eat, no one even acknowledged that we were there. I made eye contact with 2 of the girls working and neither one of them either say "hello" or "someone will be right with you". No one took our order or even greeted us. We got tired of waiting and went to Five Guys Burgers and Fries and spent $30 on that meal.
I personally work in customer service and I was very unsatisfied and unimpressed with the service I received at Steak and Shake in Woodhaven, Mi.
This was my first time trying, well going to try it, but I can say I was not impressed with the staff and service tonight and would not eat there if the service is the same.

Steak 'n Shake steak burger horseshoe

Yesterday afternoon ( June 11th, 2018), myself and my friend went to Steak'n Shake for afternoon food. Some of my friends had already told me that Steak'n Shake is famous for its horseshoe ( with cheese, bread and chicken strips) and so we had 2 steak burger horseshoe with cheese. It was so terrible that it had upset my stomach completely. I felt sick till today ( June 12, 2018) morning. The famous food turned out to be my worst nightmare and I promise that I wont have that once again in my life.

Steak 'n Shake service at murfreesboro, tn location exit 78b

This is the worst Steak 'N Shake on the planet. SO SLOW and never apologetic about any problem. 11:30pm on a Sunday night. 4 tables inside, 6 cars in drive thru. Decide to go in cause I know the drive-thru is usually crap there. Came in and waited 10 minutes before someone asked me if I was waiting to be seated or just wanted to order. Five minutes later after I said I just wanted to order a shake to go, I gave up and left. There were unclean plates at the bar and on several tables. A real [censored] show. Same cars were in the same spaces in line too at the drive in when I left. UGGGH! I have left that location more times without getting my food than with getting anything! I hate them so much. Get it together or shut down please.

Steak 'n Shake our job

My daughter 16 was offered a Job at out local Steak and shake, this is her 1st job ever, So they tell her the dress code and give her a schedule of 40 hrs a week, her father and I said 25 is the max, She worked last tues., wed., and thurs. each 5 hour shifts... NO break was given for any of the 5 hour shifts and then Thursday at 10pm, her shift was to end, So as a mom of a newer driver, I axiously awaited her to come home, SansS is right across the main rt so no more than 5 minutes to get home... 10;15, 10;25, still no Faith.. I got in my car and drove to tthe resturant and yeas they were quite busy, she was to be on drive thru... I waited till 11pm and her comes my daughter out of the resturant crying, they would not let her leave, nor call me to tell me she couldnt come home on time! No break on a 6 hour shift ... I know this would be the last day she worked there.. This is not a place that I would want to see my daughter working, As i read the Legal rules for a 16 year old on Ohio, I fould out that she Should have been given and 15 min break, on the 5 hour shifts and that a 16 year old BY LAW is not allowed to work after 10 pm... So why is this establishment getting away with this? I would like answers and I would like to see a change at this resturant. The manager that I met was names Cindy, and on my daughter 1st day of work, she was sent home, due to a minor dress code, after I went out and spent 140.00 on pants, shirts, shoes and white bra's that were all tlod she had to have, not clarifing compleat button down... she wore a white polo, later we sent her back with the same shirt on and went and bought the correct attire... I will await to hear what you have to say about this and how this will be handles... Always concered for my children,

Steak 'n Shake service

Several of us walked out of the restaurant due to the lack of service after we were seated for good 15 minutes and noticing several customers before us waiting for service. Only one server is working between seating incoming customers to taking orders to delivering orders to getting bills to customers. Definitely not going back to the same restaurant

Steak 'n Shake several issues that need to be addressed

This is the first complaint I have ever written about any company. On sunday 6/10 I took my kids to six flags in texas, leaving we decided to drive thru your arlington, texas location and get a burger and a shake. Upon arriving the gm said the drive thru was closed and dine in or carryout was available. I go inside and wait almost 20 minutes, then the gm decides he's ready to get my togo order. 20 minutes later it was ready. I got 3 burgers and 2 shakes, the milkshakes were up quickly but sat on the counter and melted by the time my food was up. Kids were wet and no shirt so they could not even enter. No explanation, no apology, not even have a nice day. I've been working in restaurants all my life (still do 14+ years) and I know we have our bad days. I asked the gm why the drive thru was closed... His response... Were busy. There is no exception for treating people like they did me that day.

Steak 'n Shake 3rd time my order has been messed up...

This is the third time in 2 months that j have gone to the steak and shake on hwy 64 in Cordova, TN 38016. I ordered a double bacon and cheese burger meal. My fries were only half full. My burger is dry with no produce at all. I am done going to this store. If this occurs at another location, I will be done all together. When I said something to the store, they seemed to think I was trying to scam them.

Steak 'n Shake food

I placed a order with stake and shake and they charged me for drink and fries that i didnt order. I ordered chicken tenders and mach and cheese. Today i went back and still got shortened. Chicken tenders. And also they put a drink on order this time and fries witch i didnt order the drink or fries. So they are charging me extra for no reason. I am not to happy about the service i received.

Steak 'n Shake staff

On June 3rd I was out with a group of friends, after a goodnight catching up with them, we decided to go to Steak and Shake on Elmore Ave in Davenport. We were greeted inside by staff that said they were not seating anyone because they had corporate cleaning in the morning, mind you that they had just sit a couple right before we walked in, we believe it is because we had a group of 5 and they didn't want to wait on us, so we decided to go to the W Kimberly Rd restaurant. We were seated just fine and they took our order and everything was fine, until it took our milkshakes 15+ minutes to arrive to us, NOT only did it take so long, we ordered 3 burgers 3 milkshakes and 1 to go order. They screwed up 1 of our milkshakes, it was supposed to be chocolate M&M, it was Mint... And we only got one burger, ONE, which was supposed to be plain, it was fully dressed. A group of 5 next to us also came in approx. 5 minutes after us and ordered about 10 min after us got their food before us, which we also observed was incorrect, which the waitress blamed on them and was very rude about it! This was around 2am CT. and there wasn't much customers in the restaurant at the time, so we should not have had this much of a problem!
