Chicken Salad with a bone in it
My wife purchased chicken salad from the Wallingford CT 06492 Stop N Shop on Saturday 12/17/22. I made a sandwich today and when eating it, I almost swallowed a bone that was in the chicken salad that is 1 1/2" to 2" long.
This happened one other time and I did not report it. I could have died.
I called and was given a case # of [protected].
I have the bone, a picture of the sandwich, the receipt and the container.

Durning self check the employee ( women dark long hair glasses mid 50’s) helped me with coupons. 2 were from a manufacturer. She asked me how much the product was I said $6 and change. She found them the product was $6.49. She did the first coupon. Then I said jokingly and another $6.49. She then was very rude. Said told me you want to do my job because apparently I’m incompetent and don’t know how to do my job. Then the coupon wouldn’t work for her and then she said well if you know how to do my job, you can fix it. I never once said anything to her to make her feel incompetent or couldn’t do her job. She was down right rude and made me feel horrible when I did nothing wrong.

At the Atwood Ave store in Cranston, RI. You have an older gentleman that works days in the deli department, that has a horrible attitude. I usually shop at night. Those guys are great. On Tuesday November 29 at 7:00 am I was purchasing a couple of items after I came from the gym. I was tired and kinda of out of it . When I approached the self check out to scan my items I was yelled out by the cashier that I was in the wrong aisle because none of them were open . I proceeded to go into the next lane . I can't see very clearly from far away and was looking at which machine was open . She began to yell in my direction in a rude manner that I had the wrong machine when I wasn't even there yet. Next , I had placed the items on the wrong side and was stopped by the machine . She came over and lectured me like a child on how I placed it on the wrong side . Once it was corrected I started to scan my chicken . Then she spoke again in a rude and abrupt manner that perdue chicken doesn't scan. She again continued speaking to me inappropriately . Her tone was condescending, rude and abrupt. I was so irritated and annoyed at her and I told her I don't have time for this and left my items and walked out of the store. I will no longer use Stop in Shop as my main supermarket . Life is hard enough without having customer service talk to you like you're stupid . They are supposed to provide help and not be rude and condescending . This wasn't the first time she has acted like this but today really put me over the edge . This cashier needs to work on positive helpful customer service skills and learn how to address customers .
Fresh Bread
Tuesday November 22 I bought some fresh rye bread I didn't look at the date but I wanted italian bread and all of them were expiring on Wednesday November 23, well my husband ate the rye bread this morning and it was hard and old come to find out the bead had expiration date on 11/18/22..this is the 5th time it has happened...please have someone check it out...thank you

Cashier check-out at Danvers, MA
I have found during several visits to the Danvers, MA store the dire lack of human cashiers! There seems to be a multitude of self-service check out machines. I have stood in line for the sole cashier many times, that one person working continuously non-stop due to a long line of customers and often with no bagger to assist. I feel the store is attempting to force its customers to check themselves out and I resent it.
Desired outcome: More human cashiers!
Delivery Orders
In the past few months every delivery order I try to place says that they will remove 3-7 random items from my order unless I switch my shopping method to Pickup. I have used delivery since before the pandemic due to my job without a problem, but for the past 2-3 months this has been a constant, reoccurring issue. It has been different items each time. The items to be removed are not frozen or refrigerated items, and they are not items that are out of stock. They were items like soap, paper towels, peanut butter, and other items that are easily substitutable if that specific item was OOS. I've switched the method to Pickup for my last few orders and all of the items that would have been removed if I had kept it as a Delivery order were in my bags on arrival so this is not due to items being out of stock. 3 / 12 items being consistently "undeliverable" is not acceptable or sustainable for me as I will not be able to pickup orders in the new year when my work picks back up.
Desired outcome: At a minimum I would like clarity on why this is happening. If this is going to be a problem moving forward I will need to find a new store that can reliably deliver all of my items.

Good evening,
Tonight (Nov 11th 2022) ,while I was purchasing groceries at your location in Andover MA I noticed a woman with a baby and children standing outside the store with a sign asking for assistance to purchase food, formula and diapers. I went through with my purchases with the intention of providing her with a donation upon finishing.
When I was leaving the store a man in a red shirt told her it was against store policy to ask for assistance and loiter outside the exit with her kids. She put her sign down until he left - I ended up giving her some cash I had available that I didn't need while warning her that he would likely call the police.
Desired outcome: I'd like whoever the man in the red shirt (manager or otherwise) to be told to treat the less fortunate (especially children) with more compassion if not outright released from his position.

SHAME ON YOU STOP & SHOP! I Live in the Bronx, NY. STOP & Shop does not serve the community. Every time I go into Stop & Shop many individuals young and old complain including myself how we are unable to purchase sale items because, many do not obtain a cellphone or a computer. Needless to say, no one enjoys waiting 20 minutes for a Digital Coupon to activate. Whoever came up with the idea of Digital Coupon should be fired. EventUally Stop & Shop will be Out of Business and now you’ll know why. I let everyone aware on Social Media how Stop & Shop is not for the people of NYC, especially the elderly.
Desired outcome: Stop the Digital Coupons. Sales should not be difficult to purchase. Do right by our communities.

I have shopped at stop shop or once called peapod for more than 11 years. you froze my account for a charge that had already been paid. What a disgrace for this company to do this to a loyal customer. Still waiting to place my order. I would cancel my order and never shop here again but I am depended on home delivery. If you look at my account I have spent thousands of dollars with this company. NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER!
Desired outcome: I what like a response to this complaint and a apology and perhaps some type of compensation for my hours on hold with customer service and waiting days to place my order.

On Sunday October 16,2022 and Friday October 17,2022. Kaitlyn cruz had threatened 2 times to another employee and management had done nothing but talk to her about the problem. Wrong items delivered
Today, the groceries that I ordered arrived not at the time I had chosen.
AIso, several of the items ordered were the wrong size.
Ordered normal sized can (16 oz), received (32 oz,) Dinty Moore Beef Stew.
Ordered two A1 Steal Sauce (5 oz. each), received two (10 oz.) bottles.
I do not want to pay for these items since the sizes are incorrect and were not ordered in my original order.
Please advise how this situation can be resolved.

Your prices in my local town of Chelmsford MA are obscenely high. Went to you, only as a last resort, and couldn't believe the comparative pricing from the other store I just left. $1-$3 more item for item. I wanted to say this in the hopes someone might pass it along. A box of novelty ice cream cones was pushing $7 and eggs are a full $3 more at your place. Sure, it is a pretty store, but now more checkout lanes are closed, too, in lieu of self-checkout and big orders are slowly using those speed lanes and really tying things up. Anyway, as a business person, and a consumer, it feels crappy to think that my local location is price gauging. You are truly higher than obviosuly Market Basket, and Hanaford. Sometimes even Whole Foods. Not okay.
Desired outcome: Just consider changing prices, and not rely on popular "supply chain" or pandemic excuses. We all know there is so much more to it than that.

On 9-5 I placed order number d303738119 and paid for it using my charge card ending in 1249. The total order on my charge card was $208.45. Stop and Shop gave me a credit of 18.19 on 9-20-22 and it was refunded back to Stop
and Shop on 9-21-22.
This is a home account not a business account! My account is now in COLLECTION and I can't place any on line orders. The order on 9-5 was paid in full. TAKE MY ACCOUNT OUT OF COLLECTIONS.

Produce
Good afternoon! We are loyal customers of Stop and Shop. We purchase nearly all of our food from there. Lately their produce has been lacking and expiring within a day or two. The berries start to grow mold and are lacking flavor. The stone fruits and bananas have been getting soft and mushy. The bagged lettuce/spinach has rotten leaves mixed in throughout the bag even when I use it the day of purchase. I’m not sure if they’re not properly storing their produce or what the issue is but it’s very disappointing! Not to mention that I have three children who love their fruit, one of which is 8 months old. This is very unsafe for my children! We will be purchasing our produce elsewhere from now on.
Desired outcome: Training the associates in manners and how to talk to customers. They’re incredibly rude! I would like an apology for their horrible customer service and some sort of compensation for the rotten produce.

On Thursday night I purchased Apple Fritters from the bakery in Norwalk,CT at 380 Main Avenue. This morning I made a cup of coffee and sat down to enjoy one of these pastries. Biting into it, I couldn't believe how awful it was. It was stale and it had absolutely no apple in it. This company should be ashamed to put out a product like this. On top of that your prices at the bakery are astronomical. 5.99 for 4 stale and awful fritters. Terrible. You lost me

Advertising a product they didn't have

Stop and Shop's flyer advertised chicken lobsters at 7.99 per pound. It was a four day sale and at least two of the four days the Stop and Shop in Waterford, CT ran out of lobsters early in the afternoon.
It is illegal to advertise the sale of an item that you don't have. The workaround is to give a raincheck if you run out of an advertised item. So, I asked customer service for a raincheck both days and both days was given the same response, "It's a four-day sale and we don't give rainchecks for four-day sales. It's while supplies last."
The phrase "while supplies last" has no legal standing. You cannot waive legal responsibility by including it in an ad.
Desired outcome: I want a raincheck for two lobsters at 7.99 a pound and I want Stop and Shop to stop placing ads for items they cannot supply without giving rainchecks.
Items return and customer service
The store #559 (550 W Old Country Road, Hicksville NY) failed to accept the return for the items purchase on 8/28/2022 at around 4:30pm. The customer service (Catherine) was ridiculously horrible. While a manager came by, he failed to help and behaved extremely unprofessional and impolite. I was expecting a refund back to my credit card, but it's refused.
Desired outcome: My return request was refused with no legitimate reason.
Diana's Bananas
Purchased tonight 8/ 15 at. Harwich Stop& Shopabout10:10 PM.
They were NOT frozen. The chocolate slid off like butter and the underlying banana was brown. These were clearly sitting in a hallway waiting to be stocked and then put in the dairy aisle at a dangerous temp to freeze again and be sold. Disgusting and total waste of money. My mom unfortunately ate part of one and praying she doesn't get föod poisoning
