Amazon Gift Card
On August 7, 2021 my 88 year old aunt purchased a single Amazon Gift Card in the amount of $1,500 from your East Broadway store. This card was of course used as part of an Amazon Gift Card SCAM. The value of the card was taken as soon as she attempted to activated it.
She contacted the store at the time and requested help and was told that there was nothing that could be done since she had purchased the card of her own free will.
While I understand why you may feel like this, Stop and Shop bears some responsibility for this fraud. You know that Amazon Gift Card Scams are almost always in the amounts of $1,000 and $1,500. You know that the majority of these frauds are perpetrated on the elderly. You know that gift cards in this amount are rarely purchased. It's not an amount that you normally give someone for their birthday or Christmas. And why would a clerk allow an 88 year old woman to buy a gift card in the amount of $1,500 and at least not point out that she might want to reconsider this transaction? Or why isn't it posted in stores to be aware of these scams?
You could prevent them. Clearly the scammers feel comfortable directing their elderly victims to your store to purchase the cards.
Desired outcome: Reimburse for the $1,500. Train your store staff to spot these transactions and warn clients.Post signs in the store that requests by third parties for gift cards are part of SCAMS.
Bags
Stop with the BS in NJ and start using brown bags, again! You are losing customers! I go to all the stores that still use brown bags, be real stop n shop no reason you can't supply brown bags, they are recyclable!
Desired outcome: Bring back brown bags or stop charging for those ridiculous bags!
Price Gouging
I’ve been a loyal customer stop and shop for over 17 years and the prices for the basket of goods I’ve been purchasing has gone up not 10% but 40 to 60% year-over-year. I was panicked thinking that inflation for food has gone crazy and then I went to ShopRite Acme and Lidl and realized it’s only stop and shop that has such massive price hikes. Shame on them.
Customer service
I went shopping today 06/09/2022 I was in the check out line it was around 7:30-8 pm at the Stop and shop on Mass Ave Boston MA. I was in line for about 8 mins when the cashier shut down her light and was told to go on break. The cashier told me I had to leave her line because she was going on break. I let her know I have been waiting in this line. How can she make me leave the line after being in line for over 8 mins waiting to pay mind you I was the next customer. I had to go to a new line and wait all over again. I asked her why she is doing this and I told her she should take her last customer after shutting her light off and then go on break she replied I need to take my break your not my problem my supervisor told me to go on break. I moved over to a new line. I looked around and the Supervisor was just standing at the end of another register talking to the cashier. Mind you there is only two registers open or you are forced to do it yourself which for me is not an issue when I have a few things but today I did a larger purchase. I walked up the man who was just chatting. I asked are you the supervisor and he replied sarcastically Yes I am as he heard me asking the cahier for the manager. I asked him if what he did was customer friendly and pointed my finger in the air I was so upset. he became argumentative telling me I am no one to point my finger and bye to get out of his face and he is not helping me at all. he continued to have a conversation about me to other customers. I told him I am paying for my stuff nothing here is free and that he should take care of his customers the right way. I am in this location very often at least 3x per week so I have seen him fighting with other customers. this cannot continue to happen. he made remarks like yeah your paying for your food probably with food stamps that is not his concerns. his only concern is that I am a paying customer. I let him know I was calling corporate and he said he didn't care if he gets fired he will find a new job. the situation was so disgusting that the cart boy followed me outside and apologized to me and said the policy is to shut your light off take your last customer before the light went out and go to break. he said what happened was very wrong and he apologized to me again. the supervisor was talking with other customers and his cashier saying things like she is a mother and what kind of example is she setting for her kids. Out of anger I did call him ignorant because he kept arguing with me in front of everyone making me feel very uncomfortable. I apologize for even saying that but he is very unprofessional and something needs to be done about the way he treats customers.
Desired outcome: I think he needs some retraining on customer service or be fired he was very rude and unprofessional.

Consistently purchasing chicken that spoils way before exp. Now if its going bad in my fridge that means its going bad in the store before its purchased according to sell by date , this has happened over and over and the customers can't always run back to store to get a refund so we get screwed out of14 to 15 dollars , not only is this dangerous for consumption but its a rip off, the cost of food is ridiculous as it is , this is a huge problem with not only meat but produce as well,
Just had an order delivered yesterday with all the ingredients for the upcoming week full of company. For the 1st time I am horrified at the condition of the cheese I ordered! This was delivered yesterday! Thank God I opened it before company arrived.

Where is Nature's Promise Almond Vanilla milk?
Where is Luigi Vitelli tomato puree or whole tomatoes?
Where is Contadina Italian Seasoning paste?
Where is your brand of instant oatmeal cranberry pecan and vanilla?
Where is chocolate/raspberry wafers? all of a sudden lemon, lime and other flavors...
Where are the bags of frozen chicken breasts? without bread crumbs. Just plain. No where to be found for at least 9 months.

Deli service
On, June 04, 2022. I purchased a half pound of corned beef and a half pound of pastrami. The time was 8:45pm . I am a proud member of the LGBT community. The store's number is #663. There were two deli clerks working. One Caucasian and one Black American. I am a Black American. I wore a pink top and light blue green bottom with light makeup. The Black American was serving the customer ahead of me. He looked me over then told his coworker to serve me. The coworker ( Caucasian staff) was nice and polite. The Black American refused to acknowledge me except when he yelled at me to tell me " We got no corn beef!" I pointed to corn beef behind the counter. The Black American staff then angrily got the corn beef and abruptly removed his coworker and slammed the beef unto the meat cutter.( At this time the Closed Deli sign was up.)
After the rude employee sliced my meat put it into a ziplock baggie he just threw it unto the counter. I can only surmise. He looked me over and decided to be disrespectful to a paying loyal customer. I was not aware your organization had a ZERO tolerance to the LGBT community.
To make matters worse a lady came after me ( while the Closed Deli sign was up) and the same employee was polite and cordial to her.
If this type of service happens again. I will allow my lawyer to talk with your organization. This was completely uncalled for.

Digital Coupons
Trying to use digital coupons at Stop&Shop is very frustrating and just does not work. And when I ask any of the sales associates, they do not provide any assistance. On 6/2/22 at 4:46pm I was at my local S&S (#2502) and 'clipped' over 24 Haagen Daaz ice creams for 2 for $6 but it still charged $7. Why does each individual flavor need to be 'clipped'?

Best Brand frozen hamburgers
Best Brand frozen 1/4 pound burgers. They were not cheap but middle priced between the most and least expensive. Stop & Shop should check the brands they sell before putting them out for consumer purchase. Had a family picnic and had thawed the burgers for cooking. Could not peel them off the plate or from each other. They were formed and stamped through by machine and the punctures were everywhere, they crumbled and broke apart. Had people waiting for their burgers. Could not keep them together long enough to put on the grill and could not flip them once on. They broke apart in dozens of pieces and fell through the top of the grill. We stopped cooking them and put an alternative out. We wasted money, have half a package left that cannot be used for burgers. Ruined our picnic. Open and cook your product before you sell it. It was a waste of money and ruined a long planned family picnic. Let's not even talk about your lack of employees, charging for paper bags and your self checkout that needs an attendant multiple times to get through a 6 item purchase.
Desired outcome: Refund upon return of remaining contents of package

I have been shopping online at your store for over a year. On my last order I was charged $2 for a New Jersey law that implemented a fee for bags.(reusable) I live in New York. Prior to this New Jersey law New York had a fee of 5 cents for each bag which your company charged for each bag my items were packed in for delivery. Your company is now charging $2 no matter how many bags you pack my order in. I feel you charged me 5 cents for each bag when it wasn’t the law in New Jersey but a law in New York. I don’t have a choice of where your company gets my deliver from but if this fee doesn’t change I’ll be forced to shop at another company.
Desired outcome: Lower fee on bags!
Cashiers at stop and shop
It happen so often at stop and shop at the cashier of purchasing items. The cashier had ring in twice of the same items. I didn't realize it until I make it at home. Not Just one item are like that. I asking stop and shop at malden ma 02148 to hire cashiers that are care about consumers please. Please train the cashiers in a professionally. Most of the cashiers are students and not care about customers.
Desired outcome: First, I Iike the refund. Second, please train the cashiers professional and last stop and shop reciept is not that clear with wic card. It so confusing.
Credit Card Issue/ Customer Service
May 8th received an email about an issue with a credit card and to log on to my account and update the card. I did that and on Friday 5/13th I was unable to place my order call this number last 4 digits 7772. I called and was told it will be handled. Called again that afternoon told they are working on it. Tried several times to place an order and called Saturday morning 5/14 the 7772 number and was told it will take 3-5 business days to resolve. I was never told that on 5/13 the customer service is awful. On my account there are four valid credit card numbers of which any one of them could be used & I had already changed the primary one.
I tried to go to my account and now I am blocked it will not allow me to get in my account.?

Treatment of an employee
I was in the floral department of the Narragansett RI store mid-morning on Friday May 6, waiting to be waited on. There were two women working - one I could see was younger; the other had her back to me. The way the woman I could not see was talking to the younger one stood out to me - abrupt; condescending. Enough so, that I thought to myself I would never put up with being spoken to that way. The younger woman pulled herself away and came and waited on me - smiling and pleasant. To my surprise, when the other woman turned around I recognized her - she is the Manager of the floral department at the Westerly, RI store where I usually shop.
Appalling way to talk to people, especially for a Manager talking to a subordinate employee... If this is the way a Manager speaks to employees I know I would not want to work for your company.
Desired outcome: I don't know the answer to this.

I have been going the Cottage Street Pawtucket, RI 02860 store for the past few years with my little chihuahua wish i always hold in my hands never had a problem everybody's always nice and friendly today I got to the store to do a little bit of shopping the Customer service manager told me i have to get out of the the store we don,t allow people like you and your dog in the store, i asked him what do you mean people like me, why because i am latin? his response was i don't have to explain myself to you you need to leave now, i got mad and told him go f*** yourself and left the store, not everyday i could walk to the store for light shopping, i think he's a racist and should be fired
I was the family dollar store on hwy 80 and then to the one on Barksdale blvd . Those two manager stop what there were doing and helped us find the merchandise that we were looking for.
They are example of good manager going beyond their duty even though they putting up merchandise by themselved. Extra ordinary worker should be rewarded by this company!
Curb side pick up and phone not in service
I went to pick up my groceries at the store on Kingstown Road in Wyoming/Richmond Rhode Island.
What greeted me in parking space was a sign stating that the phones were not working and to go inside the store to tell them I was there.
Well the reason I use pick up is because I am unable to walk long distances. I also have not been in the store in nearly two and one half years. I had no idea where to go.
I parked near the main entrance, got out my walker and managed to get inside to an empty customer service desk. Not one person around to even ask where to go.
Luckily, Cheryl, the florist person whom I've known for a very long time, but haven't seen in a long time, came and asked if I was ok. I told her I needed to let someone know I was here for my groceries, that the phones were down. She said they have been down for days!
Cheryl offered to help me back to my car, but I managed that on my own and then she met me in the pick up shopping area with my groceries.
Cheryl has always been a very special, kind and caring person. I am very grateful for her help. She always has a genuine smile. You are lucky to have her on your staff.
It is beyond me that a phone problem for a company as big as S&S cannot get their system repaired quickly. Before I place another pick up order, I'll be calling to make sure the phones are working.
Desired outcome: Although I thanked Cheryl personally, I think she deserves some recognition for going beyond and without hesitation to be helpful.
Customer service manager
I have been recycling bottles that said store for the past year never been a problem everybody's always nice and friendly tonight I got to the store late politely ask desk clerk to speak to manager she gave me a f u work with her eyes and became extremely snotty so I asked for the manager he was instantly snotty stating why did I bother him the desk clerk could have told me that the bottle center closes at 8:00 and why was I bothering him when I asked if he could open it for 15 minutes I need $10 to get my room rental for the night for the past year it's never been an issue if I'm a little bit late after 8:00 p.m. now the desk clerk and the shift manager extremely rude and snotty treating me like I'm a homeless quote unquote. So I quietly left said thank you when I turned around just to see what the current situation was at the customer service kiosk they were looking at me and laughing so yes I would like to file a complaint against the stop & shop dessler and shift manager for being disrespectful and rude to us poor Americans how I have to sleep outside tonight because I was 15 minutes late at bottle redemption unless I can find $10 at 9:00 p.m. tonight

Coffee Mate Creamer (32oz)
The prices at Stop and Shop are OUTRAGEOUS! I avoid the store as much as possible. However it is less than a mile from my home. So, occasionally I sacrifice price for convenience. Today I went in to get coffee creamer, eggs, and a meat for dinner. Creamer which is in any other store between $3.50-$4.00 was a whopping $5.59! 😳 18 eggs also over $5!
Desired outcome: Fair reasonable pricing throughout your stores.
Deli service
The deli in the Edgartown Stop and Shop is supposed to be open from 12 to 2. I understand the staffing problems and so I arrange to be at the store during this time. When I went yesterday they couldn't open due to lack of staff. I wouldn't mind this if their pre packaged cold cuts were ones I can use but they don't slice the ones I like and when they do the packages are all 1 pound and I can't use that amount. There are many elderly people who use this store and they just can't use this amount of cold cuts. This is the only store in my town that has a deli. This is very inconvenient.
Desired outcome: If I could pre order my cold cuts to be picked up it would be very helpful.

stop & shop 406 pharmacy,in error,charged me for acid reflux med I dont take and refused to refund my $13.60,, I transferred my account to somewhere else! I was never asked if I had acid reflux just shoved my meds in a bag,like couldnt be bothered to ask a question about the acid reflux,this happened on 26 April 2022

I visited the stop &shop on 4/21/20222 at 7:am at the newark ave store in elizabeth, im constantly having to ask the cashiers to open the gate thats lock were the soap, deoderant toothpaste ectc are located, they have to go to the night crew chief that has a bad attitude, problem and dosent like to open that section for whatever reason, I have to go to work...
