Mr. Bowden,
I am writing to formally express my concern regarding an issue I encountered.
On July 23 2024 I called Tires Plus located at 1627 CR 220, Fleming Island, Florida 32003. I requested a quote for four tires for my SUV. The quotation provided to me covered all the installation fees and included road hazard coverage.
On or about August 7 2024 driving to work I felt that I may have had a flat tire. Upon arriving I inspected my tires and found my right rear tire had gone flat. I proceeded to change the tire and found that key to remove my locking lug nut was missing. I called the Tire Plus store and was told that they had some keys and I should come in to retrieve mine. I was only about Five minutes from their store and needed to find someone to take me there. When I arrived at the store the person behind the counter produced several keys. We then took our best guess as to which one would fit my lug nut. I returned to my SUV replaced the tire and went to work.
After work I returned to the store to get a replacement tire. At this time they informed me that I didn’t have road hazard coverage. I informed them that the quotation provided to me included this option. They explained to me that at the time of purchase that sales person would have asked me if I want this option, this never occrued. As a result I had to pay for a replacement tire and also for the road hazard coverage.
These actions have led to me to contact you concerning the above actions of Tires Plus. First, a quotation including all coverage was provided, so one would think this was included. Second, the issue of the key to remove my locking lug nut. I would have thought that someone from the store would have been sent to deliver this to me since they were the ones to forget to return it to my car. Upon seeing how many they have behind their counter they need to educate their employees to return these to the vehicles.
As for the additional purchase for a replacement tire this is something that Tires Plus should have covered due to their incompetence at this location and failure to follow company practices, and they provided a quotation including this coverage and failed to say anything about this at the time of purchase. I believe in the importance of customer feedback, as it helps improve services and enhance the experience for others.
I look forward to your prompt response.
Sincerely,
Kristine Woodie

In your letter, clearly request a refund for the additional charges you incurred for the replacement tire and road hazard coverage. Highlight that the original quote you received included this coverage and that you were misinformed at the time of purchase. Additionally, mention that the store should have delivered the missing key to you, as it was their oversight. Request a formal investigation and a resolution, and suggest that proper employee training be implemented to avoid such mistakes in the future. If Tires Plus does not respond within a reasonable timeframe, consider escalating to their corporate office or filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
