OPEN GRIEVIANCE
I have been a faithful employer at TJ Maxx, and was hired for the company for more than 6 years between Marshalls and TJ maxx. I was hired for the Salesfloor in the Women's Department in which I absolutely love from even when I was an employer at Marshalls. I was told when I was hired at the time that this was my position, and of course I would be a back up cashiers when needed. Lately, since the new District Manager was hired everything has changed, he has no consideration of his employers and uses every one as a cashier. Some of teh store associates who are displaced including myself are not happy, but I will say what they will not say. I personally do not have any issues with him other that the fact I Have ask him for a meeting to discuss where else he could possibly place me in the store since he has eliminated the sales floor position in the womens Department since I have not signed up as a full time cashier on my original application .This conversation happened on February 10, 2018. He was not open to discussion of meeting with me and quite rude. He only places a select few on the register and pulls all the cashiers from the departments and places them as cashiers until there is no one on the floor. If there is no longer a women sales floor position . I can do something else on the floor . A fulltime cashier is not what is on my employment application contract for many personal reasons. I would like to consider resignation if my position is eliminated . If there is other positions I can discuss doing besides full-time cashiering where he has placed me . I hope we can negotiate, and I can also speak for the other employers. He has not been scheduling appropiately and adequately at this location. He does not consider his employees feelings . I understand companuy policy and what in the policy says everyone is a cashier.
payment made early
I have a TJ Maxx credit card. My monthly payment is $52.00. I have some medical bills I'm paying off from 2017. Knowing I had these bills, in order to make this work within my budget to pay everything and still be able to afford gas and groceries, I decided to split my monthly payments starting with February into two payments over two paychecks each month.
My payments are due by the 11th. I got paid on January 18th, and made a payment of $25 for the February payment due of $52.00. I got paid again on February 1st, and went online to pay the other $27.00. Your system was showing $52 due. How could that be when I already paid $25 towards the February payment?
I called & spoke with a supervisor named Cody. He informed me even though my payment is due by the 11th, my statement doesn't close until the 19th, so any payments made between the 12th and 19th will count on that current month; not the next month. I made my February payment a day too soon. I was unaware this is how this worked.
I asked him to move my payment of $25 made 1-18-18 to the February minimum due. He stated he couldn't do that. I informed him I already paid $25 and I don't have an additional $52 to pay TJ Maxx by the 11th, only $27, which I paid on 2-5-18. He said there's nothing he can do. I either have to pay the full $52 or I will be assessed a late fee.
This hardly seems fair to me. I work at a bank. We are able to credit payments for certain dates, backdate, forward date, so I'm not sure why your company cannot do the same.
As of now, you're showing I still owe $25 for the February 11th payment. I'm requesting you move my $25 payment made 1-18-18 to the February payment which will bring my account current and avoid late fees.
Please call me at [removed] or email me at [protected]@hotmail.com to rectify this situation. Thank you.

won't honor return policy
I went into the store on January 2 to return some Christmas gifts. Their sign said that I did not need a receipt and that they would give a store credit. I waited in line for 30 minutes and the clerk said that they only accept returns with a receipt. I told her that the sign says otherwise and she held firm. I asked for a manager, Salma, and she said the same thing. When I told her that they should take down the sign if they have no intention of honoring the policy, I got a rude stare and no reply. I walked out and cancelled my TJX rewards Platinum Mastercard and will not be returning.
You should try contacting the corporate office. That is just not right on their part.
customer service
I bought a jacket back in November 26 at 4:44pm at TJmax located in Dartmouth MA, I paid with a gift card. The jacket had two price tags, one with with a price of $32 something and also another one red one with a $12 price. In December I decided to wear the jacket, but for my surprise it had the alarm on. I went to the TJmax at Fall River because I live there, they told me that they couldn't do it because the alarm that was on it was the told one, and they don't have the proper alarm remover. Ok so I decided to go to Dartmouth, went into the store with my receipt that they gave me, explain the employee why I was there, she told me that the ticket that I had was not the correct one. She called the supervisor, the supervisor came with this attitude saying no I cannot remove it because that was not the correct ticket. I explain to her that that was the only ticket that they gave me. She looked at me and say sorry cannot do it. I told her I did not still this jacket I paid for it. She said, I'm not saying that you still it but I need to review the surveillance cameras.( All of this with the worst attitude I've ever seen). I reply, do you think I'll come here with a fresh face after stilling from your store, so you could remove the tag? I said go ahead check the surveillance cameras I'll wait here, she said no can't do, that will take me quit of time. I told her I was not going anywhere. This was in front of all the employees at the store and customer, they way she treated me I felt like I was a thief. At the end she decided to remove the tag. Worst experience ever. You should hire more professional people, I'm pretty sure you have a lot of them, but this store is something else. I will never go to that store again.
management/store
The store is in complete chaos with carts and boxes EVERYWHERE. You can't walk anywhere. The manager is very rude. She was yelling at employees in the middle of the store about getting stuff put away but clearly there is no room anywhere in the store becuee it is packed out. She was so hateful. Someone needs to address the management and get that store under control.
You may want to consider calling the corporate office with your feedback.
gross negligence and lack of communication with loss prevention
I had my wallet stolen in the TJ Maxx in Amherst, New York two days ago. I immediately filed a police report and asked the manager on staff (Robyn) for access to security footage. She claimed they did not have access to it because loss prevention was not ‘in the building.' Two days later, nobody from loss prevention has come in to try and view the footage or reach out to me for updates. In addition, the day my wallet was stolen I had a number of items that I had to leave behind. The manager on staff that day said she would hold them for me at least a couple days. I come back and nothing is held for me. The manager today (Whitney) reached out to Robyn who says she only held it for one day. How am I to pay for my things when it takes at least a few days to get new cards in the mail? I am beyond upset and will continue to pursue this until it is rectified.
I have a couple of very basic questions. To begin with, why do you believe it was "stolen?" And why do you believe it was in this store?
they canceled my order
For no reason, they canceled my order. Everything was ok, so I don't understand why they did it.
I contacted them to get their explanations, maybe it was a system error. They only said that due to some reasons they can't tell me why the order was canceled. Probably they just had no idea. Yeah, I know, it sounds like a complete nonsense). But they offered me to place a new order and promised there would be no mistakes. I refused. I don't wanna deal with them again.
Yeah. I have had some great finds via TJ MAXX; however, I may think twice going forward. They split small orders. When an item placed is lo in stock and it’s cancelled, that’s it. I’ve tried to get ahead if an order and customer service calls are futile. I don’t even know why there is customer service. Something change - there’s an air of indifference. Obviously, they don’t care if they lose customers. I will be taking my business elsewhere.
store manager complaint and overcharge of merchandise which was not on receipt.
Store in Bowie Young Male Manager I believe name Steve. Purchased shoes last week came into store shoes marked down another $10.00. He said it was a mistake. Wanted me to return shoe and come back the next day. I refused he adjusted price and said it was one time. Are you kidding me? I am 57 years old why do I have to pay for a mistake that is your policy to adjust. In addition, my receipt which I purchased curtains two were not there. I had since put the curtains up but returned the empty boards to show. I should not have had to do that but I did. The woman said I had them all. I knew I did not that's why I brought them in. I don't fight. I write. Your manager made me feel like I was a small child that needed scolding by telling me one time. If you have mismarked prices that need adjustments and quality assurance that's not my fault that's lack of oversight. Please train your people better in customer service especially your leadership.
Why were the shoes marked down? Did they just go on sale or were you charged incorrectly?
the salesman and the manager t j maxx at destiny usa should be ashamed of ruining my daughter's day!!
The saleswoman and the manager T J MAXX at Destiny USA should be ashamed of ruining my daughters day! We were picking up presents but the loading woman kept pushing my girls away in the toys section and said be careful to my girls with a nasty attitude although my daughters did not even begin to pick up toys! I told her she was not doing her job well since she was harassing my daughters. To my great surprise, she asked for the manager. Rather than apologizing, she accused me of being loud! To protect my girls from experiencing this ugliness, we left without saying anything more. TWO disgusting women who do not deserve to have kids! They ruined our day! Shame on them!
you do know posting photos of people without there consent is s violation of federal law . hopefully they arrest you in gront of your children for being a bad mother
return policy
They should remove the line saying 'You can return without receipt', because they always give so much of trouble saying that the merchandise is not on system when trying to return without receipt.
I am very disappointed about this. Either stand by your policies or just accept that you don't stand by it. I tried to return some additional stuff I got for thanksgiving at TjMaxx Hoffman estates today 11/27/2017 and the person at the checkout counter made such a face seeing that had a lot of returns. I also over heard her saying to her colleague that I had a truckload of things to return. She said she cant take in what is not on system and didnt bother to look properly. Such a terrible customer service. I am sure not going to shop there any more.
unethical behavior of sales associate
11/26/17
A sales associate and an assistant manager refused my request for a price adjustment on a pair of pants that were marked down from $79.99 to $29 and also deliberately changed the style number on my receipt to make it impossible for me to get an adjustment at another store. I bought both pairs of pants and went to another store to ask for an adjustment but because the tags did not match they could not grant the adjustment at the second store. I don't know why Farmington Hills store treated me this way I am a loyal and cooperative TJX Credit card customer.
Although the tags on both items are worn and can barely be read, the $79.99 item tag scanned when I put it in layaway on 10/28/17. It also scanned when I deleted it from my layaway this evening but the associate used a dump number so that the pants priced at $79.99 were given a different number than the marked down item just so that I could not go to another store and get an adjustment. Another store grants price adjustments for items bought within the last five days.
I have copies of all the receipts and will go to the store tomorrow evening and request that they change the receipt to the proper tag number so that I can go somewhere else to get my price adjustment.
I have all of my receipts. Please help me. Please call the manager at the Farmington Hills store and ask her to do the right thing and give me the proper receipt for the items I purchased.
I don't disagree with many complaints, but really? You're trying to manipulate their system and they have measures to prevent you from doing so. It sounds to me like you don't value your own time very much as you seem to be wasting it on a futile venture.
lack of recognition of the holiday of hanukkah
To Whom it may concern:
Today, Saturday November 25, 2017 I went to the Home Goods Store in Swampscott, MA, 01907. My main purpose in going was to look for some Hanukkah decorations, menorah's etc. I was EXTREMELY disappointed and hurt by the fact that their was a incredibly tiny section set aside for Hanukkah. I had to ask someone where it was. My experience was exactly the same at the Marshalls in Swampscott. I actually feel discriminated by such an insignificant concern for a Jewish holiday. There were Christmas items galore but Hanukkah was "put in the back of the bus." During a time in our country's history where violence and discrimination are so prevalent, it is unfortunate the example that the TJX stores are modeling by NOT giving a major segment of people who live in this area recognition. poor customer service
Hi there,
I would like to report and incident that happened today at TJ Maxx in Jonesboro, Arkansas. This is to inform you of how irresponsible, insensitive and irrational the tj maxx staffs and manager in this location have acted affecting two individuals just because they look different. They are two international students who shopped at tjmaxx all their time here in U.S. there are close to a million international students who come to the U.S and buy products from TJ Maxx. At the end of the day they are your customers and they should have been treated with respect.
As soon as these students walked into the store, another customer made a comment about foreigners shoplifting. Since these students occasionally shopped at this location, they just ignored the comment and continued browsing around looking for stuff for their house. Then they noticed that TJ Maxx staffs were almost following them in every aisles and looking at them suspiciously. They had not carried any bags or purse. They just had a small wallet with them. Once they checked out each of their items, they left the store. They noticed that the cop car was there and started following them. The female student asked what the issue was at which point the cop stated that someone in tjmaxx called and reported shoplifting. These two students were shocked, scared and humiliated. They didn't resist the search and the cops turned their bags and car upside down. When they were not able to find anything, the female student asked what was stolen. The cops didn't know. They all decided to go back to the store to talk to the manager. The manager said that they don't know who called and gave the description of these two students which seems to be a lie since it's tjmaxx staffs who were watching these two individuals all along.
The issue here is to assume that just because you look brown or black you must be shoplifters and thus they need to be watched and followed the whole time they are shopping. TJ Maxx being such a big corporation should be ashamed to have a team of closed minded people like this working for their store. I understand corporate office may not have any control over local stores however; there should be some sort of diversity Orientation that you need to implement and you should have no tolerance for discrimination and disrespect shown towards a customer.
I am hoping that this message will be read seriously by those leading tjmaxx who are responsible, logical and sensitive leaders and who would stand up for the right.
Sincerely
Chandni
Unless you were an active participant in the entire experience, you most likely do not have the full story. The individuals affected should be the ones making the complaint.
horrible customer service from the manager rhonda
This is the second complaint I have filed against this store specifically the manager on duty Rhonda. This happened saturday 11/11/17 at 4:30pm.
I shop at all TJ MAXX including out of state. I'm very familiar with the return policy.
I had a current receipt exactly 1 week old. I purchased from another TJ Maxx cosmetics. When I got home I opened it to find out it was broken. I was sick with the flu and was not able to return it immediately and it was exactly 1 week with the receipt and all the original packaging. I took it to the nearest TJ MAxx on Jefferson and Culver City. The cashier ( Cindy) said I had to drive to the same TJ Maxx that I purchased it from since her manager Rhonda told her to have me return it to the TJ Maxx down the street. I told the cashier I was not going to drive down the street as I'm here now and it has all the packaging and a valid receipt. This is not the 1st time they made me drive to another TJ Maxx because they wouldn't accept a valid return This is not stated on the receipt. I've spoken to 2 of the TJ Maxx mgrs at Beverly Center and Santa Monica and they both apologized and said they are suppose to take back with a valid receipt. This is not proper customer service and It's very unprofessional and Rhonda should not be managing your store.
twice authorized debit card
Dear Sir or Madam,
Reviewing my online bank application, I just realised that my card was authorized twice for the same purchase, on the same date and the same amount, and I exactly remember what I bought, so please I would kindly ask you to refund that for me. The amount was $41.16 usd, and date was 10/27, in 350 W Boston. I bought 2 Euphoria male deo-sprays, coconut sticks, 3 choco-caramel candies.

bamboo trays
The attached photos show the issue. The sticker for the bamboo trays is impossible to remove without leaving a gluey mess and a mark where the sticker was located. Why couldn't the sticker be placed on the bottom of the tray? Such a simple solution. I am going to have to return the trays I purchased. I bought a few as a trial to see if they went with the decor of an office space and they were perfect until I couldn't get the gluey tag off. So instead of buying more, I am going to return the ones I bought and look elsewhere. Do you have another solution?
thanks
Joan
I would recommend trying a bottle of Goo Gone. It's known to help remove adhesive. I can't guarantee that it won't affect your ability to return them however.
bracelet
I went to TJMaxx in October to purchase a bracelet. The ticket said sterling silver but the item is not sterling. There was a tag on it that said silver plated. I questioned the item prior to the purchase but the cashier insisted that it was silver. Please have your items marked correctly because this is conceiving and I was inconvenienced and disappointed. Thanks. Conley R. Oates
credit card solicitation
To whom it may concern, I love your stores; however myself and others would have a much nicer shopping experience if we didn't feel pressured to apply for a credit card! No salesperson should be made to think they can pressure a valued customer to apply for or purchase anything. Lately there has been an uptick in the onslaught of salespersons asking if customers want to apply for a credit card. Please restrain management from instructing salesperson that they can strong-arm valued customers into applying for credit.
Unfortunately this is becoming increasingly common as companies are requiring employees to have minimum account openings or risking termination. The culture that requires this is probably far higher than just store management.
customer service
Date of incident: Tuesday, October 24, 2017
Store: 437 US-46E, Dover, New Jersey 07801
I have been a regular customer of TJ Maxx for many years. As a restaurant owner for nearly 29 years I am keenly aware that finding professional and responsible employees has become extremely difficult. I have never written a letter of complaint nor have I taken the time to write a review. However, my experience at the Dover location was so disturbing that I felt the need to contact management. The cashier was either without any training at all or simply lacked the ability to do her job. She did not greet us (myself and my 14 year old daughter) and she proceeded to pack our bags as if she could care less. Due to the fact that I had purchased 3 items made with glass, I had to ask for packing paper to wrap at least the larger bottle. She handed me the paper so that I could wrap the bottle. As we were leaving the store we were not informed that due to the late hour, shopping carts would lock as we attempted to leave the store. My daughter ended up badly bruising her shin as a result. The manager basically yelled at us that the carriages can't go outside. Then she proceeded to ask the cashier why didn't she inform us. Then I asked, I have several large bags here, am I expected to carry them to my car. No immediate response. Then as we were walking out with arms full, the same cashier finally said, you can pull your car up if you'd like. I am taking the time to write this complaint because my daughter was hurt and there was absolutely no concern from management. Obviously this has left me with a bad feeling. Fortunately for me, my regular store is in Montague, New Jersey, where everyone is extremely nice, helpful and professional.
Sincerely,
Nancie Simonet

tjmaxx park ave memphis tn manager with lip full of tobacco dip.
The manager Tom uses tobacco products while working on the floor, interviewing new associated, etc. This should be a violation of the no smoking policy. And also always out of dress code especially when the district manager is out of town... The way he runs the store is sad it looks like a thrift store at times...he makes idle threats about getting credits..like he has said that the associate is affecting the way he takes care of his family by not acheiveing the credit goal..most times the associates are doing their very best. Its like they want you begging for these cards for pieces of candy and bottle waters. Only certain people ever win gift cards everyone doesnt feel included so they get upset and dont ask. Just needs to be fair about recognizing each associate.
