TJ Maxx Credit Card Review: Late Fee Scam and Poor Online Service
I've been using my TJ Maxx credit card for years now and I've never missed a payment. I always pay directly from my checking account and the payment is due on the 22nd of every month. However, I recently found out that I was charged a $25 late fee because TJ Maxx didn't receive my payment. I contacted them and explained that my bank had a record of the payment being released to their account on the 22nd, but they told me that I needed to pay at least 72 hours ahead of time for their end to process the payment. What the heck? I'm really upset about this charge and the way they handled the situation, especially since they can see that I've always been on time with my payments. I decided to close my account right then and there - they just lost a customer. Maybe they don't care, but I'd rather do business with any other credit card company than them. I used to enjoy going to their store, but not so much anymore. Just make sure you pay at least 72 hours ahead of time if you want TJ Maxx to post your payment, otherwise you'll be charged $25.
I have to say, the customer service at the store is great, but it's a different story online. I'm really disappointed in TJ Maxx and they suck.
TJ Maxx's Customer Service Saved the Day!
I went to TJ Maxx in East Haven, CT to buy a suitcase for my upcoming trip. The cashier who helped me stapled the ticket to the receipt and said "In case you need to return the item". I thought it was just a standard procedure, but boy was I wrong. The suitcase broke before I even got on the plane! I was so disappointed and frustrated. I went back to the store to return it, but the returns manager told me to contact the manufacturer instead. I was like, "What? But you guys sold it to me!" I left the broken suitcase in the store because I had no use for it. I felt like I just wasted my money on a crappy product. I lost $69.99 plus tax! That's a lot of money for me.
I decided to call TJ Maxx customer service to complain about what happened. The representative told me that their regional manager would call me back within 24 hours. I was skeptical, but I waited. To my surprise, the regional manager did call me back and apologized for the inconvenience. He offered to refund my money or give me a store credit. I was relieved and grateful. I chose to get a store credit because I still wanted to shop at TJ Maxx. I updated my review to reflect the positive outcome.
Overall, I think TJ Maxx should have a better return policy for defective products. It's not fair for customers to lose their money on something that's not their fault. However, I appreciate the effort that the regional manager made to resolve my issue. I will continue to shop at TJ Maxx because they have great deals on quality products.
Mixed Experience with TJMaxx.com: Great Prices, Accurate Descriptions, but Disappointing Bait and Switch
I recently made a purchase on TJMaxx.com and I have to say, I was pretty pleased with my experience. I ordered a total of 5 items and out of those 5, I loved 4 of them. They were all exactly as described and I found that they were about 2/3 cheaper than what other sites like Wayfair and Houzz were selling the same items for. That's a pretty sweet deal if you ask me!
However, there was one item that I was not happy with. I ordered a "large tufted champagne colored ottoman" and what I received was a wee small PINK footstool. I mean, come on now. The dimensions listed online were 24in D x 17in H and what they shipped me was 11" in height and about 15" in diameter. That's a pretty big difference if you ask me. It felt like a disgusting shady online bait and switch.
I had to take this Barbie pink footstool back to a physical store and let me tell you, that was not a fun experience. I had to wait in a very long bay area line for buyers and returns just to obtain my refund. Don't get me wrong, I had no issues with the refund itself, but if the warehouse didn't have what I ordered in stock, they should have canceled that part of the order instead of trying to see if I'd have kept the hugely overpriced footstool. It felt like they were just trying to get me to settle for something I didn't want.
Overall, I was pretty happy with my experience on TJMaxx.com. The prices were great and the items were as described, but the whole footstool situation left a bad taste in my mouth. It just felt like a low end and vile move on the part of the warehouse employees. I mean, where did they even find these people? Probably recruited off the corner somewhere... in skidrow.
TJ Maxx's Pricing Policies Left Me Feeling Cheated and Disappointed
I've been a regular shopper at TJ Maxx for quite some time now, but after my recent experience, I'm not sure if I'll be returning. I had visited the store two days in a row, and since I usually shop at TJ Maxx when I'm up north, I thought the Florida store wouldn't be any different. I found a few outfits that I liked, and while browsing through the racks, I stumbled upon a beautiful red romper that caught my eye. However, I noticed that there were multiple rompers of the same style on the floor, and they were all priced differently.
Confused, I decided to take two of the rompers to the checkout counter and asked the clerk why they had different prices. I was hoping to get the one on clearance, but to my surprise, both of them were on clearance. I then asked the clerk if I could get the bigger size for the clearance price, but she told me that she couldn't sell it to me for that price because it had been in the store for the same amount of time as the other rompers.
I felt cheated and taken advantage of. It seemed like the store was trying to trick shoppers into paying more for the same item. I ended up purchasing the outfit, but I made sure to let the clerk know that I wouldn't be shopping at TJ Maxx again.
Overall, my experience at TJ Maxx was disappointing. I've always enjoyed shopping there, but this incident left a bad taste in my mouth. I hope that the store can improve its pricing policies and be more transparent with its customers in the future.
TJ Maxx Online Shop Review: Disappointing Experience with Late Delivery and Wrong Items Received
I gotta say, I'm pretty bummed out about TJ Maxx's online shop. I ordered five things way back on October 20th and they said it could take up to 10 business days to get to me. But then a few days later, they told me one of the things I wanted was out of stock and they refunded me. Finally, after 10 days, I got a package from TJX, but it only had one thing in it and it wasn't even what I ordered! So I called customer service and they fixed it up for me, but it's been a real hassle since then. I've called twice to check on the other three things I ordered and they still haven't come (it's almost December 4th now!). Last time I called, they said part of my order had shipped and I should get it in a couple days, but I still haven't gotten anything from my original order that I made 45 days ago! I'm super disappointed because I've always been a big fan of TJ Maxx and I shop there all the time. I'm gonna call them again tomorrow and see if I can get my money back. If you're trying to buy presents for Christmas, I'd suggest you look somewhere else. :(
Slow Shipping from TJMaxx.com - Frustrating Experience
I really like TJMaxx, Marshalls and Home Goods. I don't go to the big stores anymore, I just stick to these three. I like that I can get more of what I want by buying online, and I get the same discounts and free shipping if I buy enough (or just buy stuff I plan to return to get free shipping). I also like that I can return stuff to the store if I need to. BUT... I've ordered from TJMaxx.com a few times now, and the shipping is so slow. Even Kohl's ships faster - and I didn't think that was possible. I ordered on June 24th, and I got an email on July 4th saying that my order was on its way. One part of my order arrived on July 6th, but the other part didn't come until July 10th. Why did it take 1.5 weeks just to pick my order and ship it?! That's so frustrating! The only reason I ordered again is because I need more of the same curtains I got the first time... I know I'll only have 1/2 a patio door covered for the next two weeks while I wait for the rest of the panels. I don't think I'll order from TJMaxx.com again. I'm not in a rush, but it shouldn't take that long to pick and ship an order. Come on TJMaxx.com, get it together!
TJMaxx's Unfair Treatment of Customers: A Disappointing Experience
I used to be a big fan of TJMaxx, but today was a real bummer. I was checking out at TJ Max and the total was way higher than I expected. I was like, "What the heck?" So I asked the cashier about it and it turned out that the comforter I bought had two price tags on it and I didn't notice the higher one. I was like, "Oh no, that's not cool." Then an employee from the bedding department came over and told the cashier to honor the lower price and walked away. I was like, "Phew, crisis averted." But then another employee came over and told me that "a customer" had apparently changed the price tag and the store wouldn't honor the price. I was like, "What? That's not fair." Then they pulled the lower price tag off the item and destroyed it. I was like, "Seriously?"
At that point, I asked to speak to the manager. The manager came over and said that the price tag had been tampered with by "a customer" and TJ Max wouldn't honor the price on the comforter. I was like, "Come on, guys. This isn't right." I asked the cashier to verify that the employee from the bedding department had said to honor the price, but she wasn't sure. I was so embarrassed and humiliated standing at the register with three TJ Max employees announcing the price had been tampered with on the item I was trying to purchase and making me feel like a thief.
I gotta say, I'm pretty disappointed in TJMaxx right now. I don't think I'll be shopping there again anytime soon. I might even consider contacting an attorney. It's just not right to treat customers like that.
Homegoods' New Return Policy is a Disappointment for Loyal Customers
I recently went to a Homegoods store in Novi, MI and got a receipt with a warning about returns without a receipt. Apparently, Homegoods, TJ Maxx & Marshalls are all owned by the same group. The receipt said that if I tried to return something without a receipt in the future, it might get declined. Now, let me tell you, I've been shopping at these stores since they first opened up. I've spent so much money there over the years, probably at least half a million dollars. And I've returned things without a receipt plenty of times. I mean, who has time to search through bags full of receipts when you know you're just gonna get a store credit anyway?
But now, it seems like there's a problem with the corporate policies. They can't just scan your credit card and give you the money back into the store, so they're essentially slapping their loyal customers in the face. If they don't let me return things without a receipt, I'm gonna have to cut up my credit card and stop shopping at any of their stores. It's just terrible customer service.
All the employees at these stores know me, and they're just as upset about this as I am. It's not fair to treat loyal customers like this. I hope they figure out a better way to handle returns without receipts soon.
TJ Maxx's Shipping Error and Poor Customer Service Experience
I bought a sweater from TJ Maxx's website right before Christmas, and I was expecting it to arrive on time. But then I got an error message from UPS saying that they couldn't deliver it to my PO Box. Apparently, TJ Maxx didn't choose the right shipping method, and they didn't have a system in place to warn me about this. So the sweater was sent back to TJ Maxx.
I had to contact customer service to figure out what to do next. I asked if they could send the sweater to my house instead, or if they could redeliver it to my PO Box via regular mail. But the response I got was pretty unhelpful. They made it seem like it was my fault that the sweater couldn't be delivered, and they said that once they received it back, they would log it as a return. Then they would credit my charge card, but since I used a gift card for part of the purchase, they would have to reissue the gift card and mail it to me. Only then could I reorder the sweater.
It's been about a month since Christmas, and I still haven't received a refund or the sweater. To make matters worse, I got an empty envelope from TJ Maxx in the mail with no gift card inside. It's been a total nightmare dealing with their customer service, and they don't seem to care at all. I'm not sure when this will all get sorted out, but it's looking like it might be summer before I get my money back or the sweater.
TJ Maxx's Poor Customer Service: Frustration and Disappointment with Shipping Issue
I recently had an experience with TJ Maxx that left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. I placed an order for a significant amount of merchandise, and was excited to see that I qualified for free shipping. I entered the required code and completed my purchase, but was surprised to see that shipping had been added back in at the end.
I immediately called customer service to try and resolve the issue, but was met with unhelpful responses. They told me that there was nothing they could do until the order shipped, and that the shipping charge would fall off at that point. Unfortunately, this did not happen, and I had to call multiple times to try and get the issue resolved.
Despite assurances from customer service that the refund would be processed in a few days, I never received it. I spoke with multiple representatives, including a manager named LaTonya, but no one seemed to be able to help me. LaTonya claimed that there was no one above her who could override the system and issue the refund.
I was left feeling frustrated and helpless, as it seemed like no one was willing or able to take responsibility for the mistake. Even after LaTonya promised to look into the issue and get back to me, I was left waiting for days without any resolution.
Overall, I was extremely disappointed with the level of customer service I received from TJ Maxx. It's clear that they don't value their customers or prioritize their satisfaction. I won't be ordering from them again in the future, and would caution others to think twice before doing so as well.

Desired outcome: My difference in the money would be nice
Email services
I realize your email receipts are a secondary back up to your paper receipts but to not be able to pull up ANY OF THEM in a pinch or just for convenience sake, when needing to do a fast return.
I have had excellent service in the past but recently, it does not matter what i do -

Reset my phone settings

Each one of these brings me to Feb 2022 and nothing in between
And believe me, I shop here at least 2 times a week on my lunch hours.
So, I need to be able to access these on my phone instead of looking through all the receipts one at a time with the limited amount of time I have to return an item
Desired outcome: Tell me the fix of how to get each one of my e-Receipts. All the settings have been checked and no one can figure out the issue
Unloaded gift card
Purchased $50 gift card on 5/14/20. Gave to my daughter for b-day present. Tried to use the card and received message card was not valid/unable to be located. I contacted Marshall instore at the beginning of 12/20. The store employee instructed me to contact the number on the back of the gift card which I did, they verified the card had not been "activated/loaded" and to contact the original purchasing card. I used my TJ Maxx credit card to purchase the Marshalls gift card, so I called TJ Maxx customer service and the first CSR told me to go to the Marshalls store and they could fix the issue. After telling her I had already tried that I was informed she couldn't help me. I called TJ Maxx customer service again and this time was told the only way they could help was for me to file a dispute form. Keep in mind, all this took place during COVID and hours were limited, long wait times, etc. I then filed a dispute form on 2/9/23 explaining the "run around" I have received about the gift card that the Marshalls employee failed to load. I included a letter explaining all dates, copy of my TJ Maxx statement showing charge of $50 and payment of the $50. I received acknowledgment of my dispute on 2/25/23
stating "adjusted your account to reflect the disputed amount," that is false I have not received any adjustments. "We will let you know the outcome," still no further contact from TJ Maxx and "allow up to 60 days to complete review."
It is past the 60 days, and again when I contacted TJ Maxx I have received conflicting information. I used the live agent chat all she told me was the dispute was closed. And then today, I called at approximately 11:20 am and was told the dispute was closed, but she would open another one. Then I was told it wasn't closed and they're still working on it. Couldn't get any infro.
Desired outcome: I want my $50 that was literally stolen from me.
Discrimination in Mt Juliet TN manager Joan
05/11/2023 I purchased and wanted to return purchased product. I bought 2 days ago and cashier #1037 she didn’t have name tag white hair lady was my cashier, she opened my returning unopened box and she complained that it was used but I brought new unopened box (check video record please) I have receipts exactly time for that. I asked call manager her name is Joan she came to me, she started to refuse to return unopened item, I was in a shock. Because cashier without my permission, she opened and complained manager that box used. They were rude and discriminated me among of people. I felt sad and cried.
Desired outcome: Please stop the store for discrimination as customer I have my right. Manager and cashier are have to be trained for people cares
Also Cashier was left when I asked her name. She didn’t answer to me. All day I was in different stores but didn’t have any discrimination place such as Mt. Juliet TN TJ max store. I can’t explain how I am feeling very bad. So sad we are living in such horrible conditions. We can’t return an item with receipt and unopened condition, I returned staff purchases in used condition because they were not working as expected or it’s not that item for use. But I returned unopened box with receipt. Guys do something I am scared to buy in this store. Train cashiers for professional services when you are hiring. Customer satisfaction is important.
Working conditions
I am an employee at this place of business. It use to be such a lovely place to work. But due to covid I left but returned. I use to notice how so much traffic was going in and out of the men’s bathroom. Like so much and I never thought about it. But since I’ve returned it has slowed down but when I started it was the regular customers in and out. But I noticed now the customers have stopped just a few at a time. This is a busy Tj max in a good area. But I noticed that there is one employee that another goes to talk to. After that she will vanish for a little while and then return. I saw this on numerous occasions. This place need to be investigated for possible prostitution.

Read full review of T.J. MaxxPolicy for returns without receipts!!!
Are you kidding me, 13 returns without receipt from 2021 to 2022?
How can I dispute with regards of this report I received, since 2021 of May. returns of a total of 13 returns without receipts?, which were majority of gifts to me or bought for me and didn’t like the product or misplaced receipt.
Please send me the information to send my complaint with regards for this ridiculous policy, no other company has this policy for returns without receipts, I am sure there are quite a few customers that have misplaced their receipts, as long as you just give a store credit you aren’t loosing any money and $122.37 sure isn’t breaking you into bankruptcy! So embarrassed when I lost my receipt and in front of customers was told I was denied a store credit, just awful.
Looks like I will have to just buy from other retail stores without worrying about my receipts misplaced and can be replaced for store credits without any hassle, very disappointed and upset without notifying the customers who you have put on this RAR report.
I would like to send a letter to the proper department to let them no that this policy should be told to customers that use your TJMax credit card which cancelled due to this embarrassment I had at one of your stores with return without receipt, which I did find at home forgot to put it in the bag when I went to the store.

Failure to refund money from a scam charge
I charged $115.06 on my TJMaxx card on1/9/2022. I have tried ever since to get a refund, even providing documents to prove it was a scam. I never received the concert ticket which was to be sent to me electronically by 3/31/2022. I advised this to TJMaxx and have spent over half a dozen phone calls to TJMaxx trying to get this resolved. Each call was AT LEAST an hour long, mostly on HOLD. I have been a cardholder with tjMaxx for decades, and am thinking of tearing up my card over this! Trish Vasseur [protected]
Desired outcome: I want my $115.06 refund and an additional TJMaxx Rewards Certificate would be appropriate given my many hours on the phone and the hassle of trying to get my money back FOR OVER A YEAR.
Returns
Hi, I am customer of tjmaxx I recently purchased a rain coat in tjmaxx which costed me 60$. I didn't even wear it once, and tag is intact with it. But tax declined my return… Only because there are no receipt for my side. And the purchase was in below 15 days. They just scan the barcode and say we don't find this item in our system. I really regret...

I am a 60 year old disable male. On Saturday 4/22/23 I went to T.J.Maxx at the forum at 8324 Agora Pkwy San Antonio Tx with my wife and my Maltese dog riding with me on my scooter. After going through the whole store and finding my items I handed them to my wife to pay while I went outside to wait for her. while waiting outside I was approached by a female person who said she was an employee of T.J.Maxx and continued to tell me that I was not allowed in the store with my dog and if she ever saw me there again she would kick me out and have me arrested. I reported this to the manager inside and the manager told me that I could bring my dog into the store at any time. This young girl was very rude and acting as if she owned T.J.Maxx. I do not think this person should be working there and representing T.J.Maxx. She saw me in the store and never said nothing to me inside, why wait until I get outside to be rude and disgusting to me in front of other customer that where walking into the store. This person should be terminated immediately before she gives T.J.Maxx a bad reputation or end up with a lawsuit. I hope immediate attention is given to this situation. Thank You!
Jacksonville Fl, TJMaxx Atlantic Blvd store has the most rude managers all together. They treat customers (specially minorities) like garbage. Is very discriminatory that they always assume that minorities are up to no good and treat us like delinquents for no reason. Former mag. [censored]. María Rivera was the worst she didn’t like other minorities customers or associates and make us miserable even after she left she left her horrible mark. Sadly no one stepped in not even the region manager. Hope someone will do something.
