returns
Good evening, I am visiting Phoenix coming from out of state. I had an Item in the car that I had purchased a while back that I thought of returning on my visit to Tjmaxx today. The store I took my time to go to was, #162 in Bell Rd. I believe. (I asked for their store number). My complaint is, I had this Mophie phone charger in its original package that did not fit my cell phone. So I stopped by. I, knowing that your company does very well with taking returns, confidently asked to return it. Then was shut down in immediately. The lady automatically said I had to have a receipt. Then she went above and beyond by mentioning a full list of items that they won't return without a receipt. I was a little intimidated. She then rushed my questioning by asking me to step aside to help the next customer if I didn't have my receipt. I then had to ask for a manager. Hoping for better help, since the "front end coordinator, " wasn't able to help. She was very kind and also told me she wasn't able to take the return. I asked if I could at least have a store credit, yet they were very set on not taking the item. So I stepped out. I then called the Happy Valley store about 20 minutes from there and told them about my returned. Their response was very diffrent. I didn't catch her name but, she said she was glad to help. I am staying 15 minutes away from store #162 and was very disappointed I had to drive further way from my location for $20 worth of returns and do my shopping over there.
an appalling rude scary employee named jasmine
This evening, 6/17 @ approximately 7 pm my grandson took my credit card and purchased two items at my request while I used the rest room. When we were leaving the store he told me didn't get a receipt. We went back to the #4 cashier named Jasmine. As she was finishing with a customer, I told her she forgot to give my grandson a receipt and asked where I should go to request one. She said, very angrily and rudely, "If you will just stop and wait I will do it when I am finished with a customer". I explained that we would certainly wait, and that I was just asking if she was the person to ask. When the customer left, she turned to me and said, "I didn't forget to give him the receipt--he walked away too fast to get one." She seemed so disgusted with my receipt request and she was miserable. I explained that he was just a kid and I'd wished she had just called him back to take the receipt, but I told her no harm done - could she just give me one. She again said he walked away and she didn't do anything wrong and she seemed furious! I quietly told her she didn't have to get so angry-that I only wanted my receipt. She said, "Don't be accusing me of being angry. I'm not angry so don't go accusing me". I was speechless at this behavior and getting scared of her.
Finally a lovely woman named Karina heard how angry and rude Jasmine was being and she said she would take care of it. I thanked her and I asked if Jasmine had printed it could it be in the trash? Jasmine pointed to the trash. I asked if it was in there. She said, "I'm not goin' in any trash. You want it? You can go in the trash and get it." Karina went in the trash and found it immediately as we had made the purchase just a few moments before. I almost thought this was some kind of TV show to see a customers reaction when an employee is outlandishly improper. But, it wasn't!
All Jasmine had to do was go to the top of her trash can and retrieve the receipt and give it to me as she didn't hold it and knew she threw it away. I can't comprehend the actions of this employee of yours.
I don't know what to say to this company? I have been a high school teacher for the last 20 years and had some very difficult parents. But, never, ever, in my wildest dreams would I have spoken to them in the horrifically disrespectful, rude and angry way Jasmine spoke to me. I live in a lovely community called Brookline in MA. We are kind, polite, caring people who respect each other. I have never encountered such rudeness let alone from a store employee when I was just requesting a receipt. There was no blame. I would have liked her to have called my grandson back and said, "you forgot your receipt" instead of throwing it immediately in the trash but I wasn't focused on that at all. Even putting it aside incase we came back would have been a positive. But, she was not being reprimanded by me in any way--just a receipt request.
My grandson is graduating 8th grade on Thursday 6/21. I have 11 family members coming to town for the week. The ladies of the group and I were all going to TJ Maxx as one of our afternoon activities. We are NOT going now, that is for sure. I am afraid Jasmine will be at a register and remember me and start hollering, being rude and caustic and angry again. We were very upset when we left the store. My grandson quickly left and waited for me in the car. When I got in the car he said, "What is wrong with that woman? Why was she so angry and mean to us?"
Jasmine should never be in a customer service position. I know you don't need our money this week, whether my 6 ladies spend a total of a few hundred dollars or a few thousand. But, you should know that as long as Jasmine may be at the register, we will switch to Target for our shopping trip.
I am just shocked, appalled, upset, and nervous from the treatment I received this evening. And, Karina certainly heard Jasmine rudely and angrily and embarrassingly tell me not to accuse her of being angry and to go in the trash if I wanted the receipt and not to make a big deal of this and possibly more. But, I know she was right there when those 3 unbelieveale statements to me, a quiet, polite, educator in Brookline were made.
I have no more words for this incredibly heinous experience at TJ Maxx this evening with Jasmine.

You should have requested the manager.
management
I have been with the company, 3 years. I have worked in 2 different locations/different States. I am going to expose my experience in this present location ..Denver Colorado. I have worked very hard, I don't call out, I am never late. I do a outstanding job in that store due to my immense retail experience and background. Especially in the jewelry field. I have worked for different jewelry major corporations, and I had my own business in the past. When, I was transferred to this store in Denver, I told the management at that time, that I wish to continue working in the jewelry department, due to my experience, and because I was doing that at the other TJMaxx. They did not listened to me. I was forced to work at the front desk. Jewelry department was in very bad shape because they had people there that did not know anything about jewelry business. Sales were poor and presentation was unprofessional. I ended up with a injured arm due to excessive work at the front desk. After that, they changed management, and I was scheduled to work in the jewelry department, due to my injured arm. After, current management see me in action, after they realized my potential, perhaps customers compliments, etc i was permanently in that jewelry department. I am pretty sure sales reports showed them the truth. Sales went up due to my presence there. So they did not asked me to do anything else in another department. It was never acknowledged in front of the other employees. I never received some kind of compensation, a gift card, or reach cards, for my awesome help in the jewelry department. Only I got some verbal compliment when they heard me saying that I was planning to relocate, transfer to another TJMaxx. What a unprofessional and unfair management ! _Why mistreat a very good employee, an asset so poorly ? Employees that don't work, employees that don't know nothing, that are liability, are getting gifts cards, discount coupons, recognition, etc ... I guess they are very insecure, they are envious, and they can't appreciate my presence there because I know more than them. Because I can do things that not even management can handle and do. I don't want their jobs but I guess my presence there is just a reminder of how unprofessional they are.
A question for you ? Are you related to them? You must be a bullie ! You probably use their same techniques !
mount pleasant, mi store
I am an employee that works at this store. This store is very poorly managed. There is no form of discipline what so ever. The coordinators are a joke and basically get paid more to do less. Kevin who is the store manager basically lets everyone do what they want as long as they get credit cards. I have tried to get management to get their act together and make people do what they are paid to do. However, the store manager Kevin just blows it off. Most recently, that is today(6/12/18) a cashier was up front ringing up customers while her friend was leaning over the counter talking to her. They were using profanity and talking in a very uneducated ghetto manner. The cashier was paying little to no attention to the customers she was ringing. When the manager on duty went to nicely tell the cashiers friend that she cannot talk while ringing the cashier finished ringing and started a scene. She raised her voice at the manager on duty and preceded to use vulgar language. The manager on duty was being very calm and tried to make her understand what she was doing wrong and the cashier continued to call her horrible names. The cashiers friend preceded to get in the managers face and then after several customers were shocked by the scene the cashier stormed off to get her things and leave the store. This occurrence is ridiculous and I am ashamed to be part of an establishment that would allow its lack of discipline to lead to such a thing. This employee was way out of line and needs to be terminated. Many other employees feel the same as I and agree that this store is in need of some serious help, please.
pricing mens t shirts

service at omaha store on maple street and 132nd
We were returning an item that we got as a gift from our family in North Dakota. The item didn't have a tag being it was a gift for my son. I asked the Debbie (Omaha service rep) if she could call the Minot, ND store where it was purchased to get the number so we could return it. She said she didn't have the phone number. I ask if she could look the number up and she said no. I asked if I could look the numbers up on my phone so she could call. She replied in a VERY rude/insulting manner that yes I could, and she told me what information I needed to get from that store. I then I had to call the Minot store and get the info. As I was getting she then said she needed to talk the associate (On MY phone). Yes seriously that happened. I then was able to return the item as I had requested.
The fact that I couldn't return the item with out tags- I completely understand and agree, but it was like no effort was made to service the customer. The part that I can't wrap my head around is the customer service or lack there of. Who makes the customer call on their personal phone a store to get information and then demands to use the customers phone to talk to the store?
I will NEVER shop at TJ max again. You have lost my business. Yes, one experience can lose a customer. My hope is that TJ max changes their approach to customer service and empowers their employees to help service their customers better than the way I was treated. A simple store finder with details/phone numbers for the employees to look at if customers request, would have kept my business. Going an extra inch (not even a mile) would have kept my business.
product
I'm cheap and I like cute things so naturally I adore Tj Maxx. My only problem is they way they keep some their products- at least in the stores I've seen, some being broken and/or missing pieces. These items are mostly clearance items, but it seems like its customers who are attempting to steal or use the products. This was never a real issue for me until I bought my bed set. I went to a store (875 Queen St, Southington, CT 06489) yesterday, 5/28 and bought a full priced comforter set worth about $60 that included, or was meant to include. A comforter, 4 shams, and 3 decorative pillows. I was waiting for my bedroom furniture to come in so I didnt touch the package until tonight (5/29) when I went to set up my new bed. When I laid the comforter on my bed and noticed that the plastic it came in seemed oddly empty after I took it out. That's because all that was in the package was the comforter and one pillow. It's not possible for anything to have fallen out after I made the purchase because the package was closed with patches and no one had touched it. I immediately removed the comforter from my bed and but it back into to plastic packaging with the pillow. Ideally I would like a replacement set because it is it is a very lovely set, but I'll accept a refund as well. This is my first incident with this company and it remains my favorite store but I need this resolved because I spent considerable money on this, plus I still need a comforter and shams for my bed and really dont want to buy a whole new set because some fiend decided to steal (what I believe happened) the missing items from the store.
online shopping
Ordered a few items online. I felt comfortable because there are a couple of physical locations near me for ease of return if fit wasn't right. Well one of the items didn't fit. I paid online cash through PayPal, cash not credit. When I brought to the store with the receipt they refused to give me a cash refund only store credit because I used PayPal instead of a credit card. I don't typically ship TJ Maxx and store credit is useless to me. I paid cash and had a receipt that showed exactly that. Poor customer service, terrible attitude. I would advise DO NOT shop online with TJ Maxx!

hiring process
My 16yr old daughter applied to TJ Maxx, they wouldn't hire her the first time because she had no job experience. The 2nd time that they had a table in the front of the store with applications on it, she filled another one out, and brought it to the manager. He took her application and spoke directly to her asking her questions, as to what would it would sound like in an interview. She never lost eye contact with him, and when asked if she had job experience, she said no I am trying to get a job. The manager had no problems with that answer, he even in fact stated that it was ok. He sounded very positive with her. I don't know if he was like that with her cause I was standing near by OR if he was genuine.
She set up an interview at that moment and then the day of the interview they had to reschedule cause there were no managers at the store, you would have thought setting up the appt. the manager would have known that.
The day of the interview, she arrived there 15 min before her time. She was only in there less then 10 min. When asked how it went she stated that the women had never interviewed before and she didn't even know what to say. She said that they would be calling her to set up orientation, leading her to believe that she got the job.
I know that my daughters references were called cause they notified her that they gave wonderful references.
They never called her, and when she tried she got the run around.
How is someone suppose to gain their first work experience when no company will hire based on never working before, and not having a fair interview.
“coordinator” name tara. commack store location
One of the rudest, unprofessional people I have ever met. She tore the tags from an item I was returning and refused to refund. Purchase was made only 2 weeks ago. She stated that the ticketed item didn't match the description...well now who's fault is that?!?! The item was purchased as it is tagged and when brought home the item didn't not work/function properly. She ripped the tag from the item and tossed it on the counter and tried to humiliate me in front of a busy store full of people. She was loud, rude/mean and suggesting I was doing something immoral. Everyone around us was listening and looking. This woman never even looked me in my eye or gave me any kind of respect. I spend hundreds to thousands of dollars a month at tjmaxx. I am so disgusted and disheartened after my experience there today. I shop there so often I know several employees by first name. I felt like I was in a strange place today. People like Tara should NOT work with the public. I can only imagine how she must treat her poor employees and coworkers.
Why are you joining our argument Cpip. This is between me and paret, so get lost.
Seems to me there is only one kid here and that is paret or is it parrot.
I was angry at the time when I made those threats to my husband. Besides he was arguing with me and I told him if he did not shut up I would say that he abuses and rapes me. Can easily get people's sympathy by crying. My mom should have lent me the money. It was her fault for giving me the credit card number in the first place. I emancipated myself from her and wished her dead because she reported the theft to the police. I made those lies about my father because he side with her.
race issues
On May, Sat 12. I went to the East Windsor Nj, tjmax store to buy a few items, I was on rush with my 15 years old daughter, so I asked to wait outside while I was trying on some clothes ( 4 items in total) then I took 1 dress to pay for and left the other 3 in the fleeting room, suddenly I heard the fitting room yelling at me asking me where I left the other 3 clothes, obviously in the fitting room, then the manager ( a chubby guy named Mike) started screaming at me infront of everyone there asking me to show the fitting room lady where I left and asking her to count them! I felt humiliated! They embarresed me infront of others, I saw my daughter wanted to cry telling me, mom, they think you are stealing! I don't say anything back because my girl was there. Yes, I'm brown, I'm Spanish, but not because of that the manager and other employ have the right to humiliated me. I've been a costumer for more than 10 years in that store. I think the manager needs to learn that AS A CUSTOMER I HAVE THE RIGHT TO BE TREATED WITH RESPECT AND EQUALLY!
management
i frequent your stores quite often. Between TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and HomeGoods, I am there a couple of times a week. Today I was shopping at TJ Maxx, 1745 Fullerton, Chicago. I wished to purchase a planter pot that had a hairline crack about a fourth of the way down on one side. Easy enough to fix as I am handy with such things. The first manager I dealt with was quite sweet and helpful. She offered me what I assume is a customary 10% off to which I gladly accepted. She then even carried thenitem to the front for me as I was still shopping.
Once I had picked out several other items, I proceeded to go checkout. The first manager that had placed the item behind the counter for me had now left and the evening manager was now on and at the front. She informed my checkout person that she was not permitted to sell me the item as it was damaged! I informed the checkout person that it was a manager that brought it to the front for me. She informed the manager now resisting the sale and she said quite loudly that she wasn't going to sell something that could break and cut me just so I can turn around and sue the company! I walked over to speak with her and she walked away stating that she told my checkout employee her decision and didn't wish to speak with me!
Am I to understand that you can't sell things in case they break? I shop your stores enough to know that your clearance sections are primarily filled with slightly damaged merchandise. I have a photo showing how minor the fracture was. There were pots in the clearance that had cracks and chips in them that didn't seem to matter.
I have no proof of the speculation that she wanted the item I was wishing to buy, but based on her behavior, I left feeling that way.
I still purchased the other items as I am a loyal customer. I certainly did not appreciate a manager of a store I enjoy loudly stating she wasn't going to have me sue the company on her watch.
I will continue to be a loyal customer, more than likely at a new location as I cannot blame the entire company on the actions of one. I do want to stress that the first manager was a pleasure and what I have experienced mostly when shopping at many of your location country wide. I do hope you take the time to look into what I unfortunately experienced this time. The incident took place shortly after 5 on 4/27 at the Fullerton location in Chicago.
Thank you for your time as I regret having to complain. I work in a customer service position and don't take having to complain lightly.
Regards,
Dennis Lafferty
cashier/ customer service
Today, 4/26, a cashier named Michelle gave my girlfriend and I the worst service i have had in my entire life. The second we walked up to Michelle she immediately began scorning us, telling us how difficult we were making her life because we didn't have a plastic white bag, that no one in the past has told us to bring in. The cashier next to her even realized how rude she was being and apologized on her behalf. Michelle never showed any remorse throughout the entire transaction for her attitude or rudeness. I expressed to her my feelings about the way she was acting and still never received an apology. Michelle just continued to defend herself and act as if she was doing nothing wrong. I work in retail and this is absolutely unacceptable the way she treated us.
I don't want to benefit anything out of this, i just want someone to talk to Michelle because it was truly disheartening the way she treated us today.

customer service
On April 21st I was shopping in the TJ Maxx at 11720 Medlock Bridge Rd, John's Creek, GA 30097 with my daughters, when a "Mom" sign fell out of the ceiling hit me in the upper shoulder. A manager seen it, filled out an injury report and said that someone would follow up with me within 24 hours. I had immediately a knot, bruising, and a whelp in arm. He didn't seem to very concerned. I was. Couple of reasons, my girls were with me, what if it had hit them in the head? My arm is still bruised, with a knot and not one person from TJ Maxx has called me. Not even to check on me due to their negligence. Is that how they treat their customers? Is that the respect that I get from being a shopper in their store, injured while just trying to shop in their store. I'm not trying to say I'm trying to get money from them, just the knowledge to know that they know they were at fault and that I do matter as a customer and human enough for them to follow up with me.
customer service
I visited a TJ Maxx store in Bethlehem, Pa to purchase jewelry. My daughter and I was at the jewelry counter waiting for a sales associate to assist us. An associate came to the counter but never acknowledged that I was there, she started helping a Caucasian man who came to the counter after me. So I waited for about 5 mins after she begin helping him then she noticed that I mentioned to my daughter that I wonder how long it would take her to say something or anything to us. She never did, however, she called for another associate to come to the counter and her co-workers told her that the other associate was on lunch. She never said anything or acknowledge of that fact that I was there. I couldn't take it anymore and left out of the store. I am so disappointed because I love TJ Max but I'm not sure if I'll be shopping here again.
the lady at register “rose” / about a return / purchase at your livonia 5 mile location
Hello I i've never complained before have shopped at TJ maxes and sister companies all over the state, but never in my life I ever been excused anything fraudulent until I came to your Livonia location. First lady was very condescending, and very patronizing. I don't know she was new but it's not every day I see someone that doesn't ring up all the merchandise or "accidentally forgets" to ring in the last of my items only to make me wait until she brings up the rest and go through the motions of another charge on my Amex card. I noticed the lady before me wasn't given everything right up, so the lady had to run out and look for the customer. When it came time for her to return 3 items she has the nerve to tell me, The two jackets and shirt don't match the tags? Let me tell you I just bought these less than four days ago with my receipt that she didn't care to use, and initially said she was going to just make a store credit. I didn't care because I was buying other things, but then to tell me that they won't take it because it wasn't from their store and the 3 pieces of cloths dont match the tags? I may not have purchased it from this location but I'm pretty sure All T. J. Maxx are one in the same. I have never been so embarrassed in my entire life. You're welcome to take a look at my order history and see how much I've spent in the last six months alone, as most of what I purchase goes to donations. If I wasn't in such a hurry I would've told her off. regardless of the matter how the lady Rose at the register handled the situation is inappropriate and unjustifiable. Never mind it took her about 15 minutes to bring up the person in front of me, Forget to give them their bag, but then to treat me this way immediately after them. This is not acceptable and I will think twice the next time I make a purchase at TJ Maxx - regardless of location. I gave her the benifit to give me the reasoning and or an example of what she meant as to why this can't be returned. She wasn't making sense. She said the jacket didnt match dept (womns) I dont know the lingo on the tag but on the recept it clearly matched. The jean jacket - same thing. She made no sence and seemed she was looking to police the costmers. She did with me as she did with the people before me. I make purchases at TJ Maxx for peace of mind that item can be returned unworn/unused/ with tags attached. Never again. And let me make myself clear it's not the money, as trust me when I say I'm very fortunate. The items total no more than $60. I will also make sure my company stope shopping at TJ Maxx efective immediately as well. There are plenty other stores my team can shop at for the women center... it's just a shame this type of behavior and Ignorence is allowed in your establishment.

unethical behavior
I recently stop at the TJ Maxx located on 161 West Wisconsin Ave, Suite 1170 in Milwaukee, WI on Friday April the 20th around 4:30pm . I've shopped at this location before so I know exactly where most things are located. I made my way to the back of the store where the home items are kept. As I'm waking through the isle to located the item I needed I noticed that I was being followed by a white female employee, with dark brown hair that look to be in her mid to late forties. At first I didn't think anything of it but as soon as I made my way over to the kitchen gadget section she followed me over there and it appeared as if she was just moving things around to look busy but it was obvious that she was watching me. I wanted to confront her but I did not want to cause a scene so I purchased my items and left. No customer should feel that they are being RACIALLY PROFILED and that employee needs to be better trained.
store manager harassment
I was shopping at the TJ Maxx store last night 3/31/18 at 9:00pm one half hour before closing time, to do last minute Easter shopping for my three children, ages 3 yrs, 18 months and 3 months, and by the ages of my children you can guess why I may not have not gotten to my Easter shopping yet, up all night with an infant and taking care of 3 children under 3 is very tiring. and is very hard to do anything with 3 that small.
As I was shopping one of the employees, I am assuming must have been the manager had such attitude with me and came up to me and said that I did not respect the store because I come into the store late, she reprimanded me for coming into the store late to shop and said that I come into the store late often and that because I do this, that I do not respect the store, which I suppose shows how much I shop at TJ-Maxx if this woman recognizes me. I spend a ton of money there so consistently and I am a very loyal customer, not to mention that my mother spends a lot of money at this store and Marshalls.
This woman really offended me and made me feel uncomfortable putting me on the spot and embarrassing me, she then followed me around the store and to the line at the registers and stood there behind me with her arms crossed and a nasty look on her face, like she was watching to make sure that I did not even step out of line to look at anything.. It was very abusive. I stood there and waited until it was my turn and started to check out. She came and stood next to the cashier that was checking me out and continued to stare me down with a extremely mean look on her face the entire time I was there. The employee checking me out was very nice and positive, she smiled and complimented me on how cute my son is.
I felt very uncomfortable and I do not appreciate being harassed by an employee while I shop. I think this is very bad business practice and that this employee should be fired. I will continue to shop at TJ-Maxx and the next time I am in there I will be ready to record my experience and put it onto You- tube for the world to see how this woman treats customers at TJ- Maxx in Bangor Maine.
