July 6, 2011
To whom it may concern:
On Friday, June 24, 2011, I made a two night hotel reservations through Travelocity for Quality Inn, Niceville, Florida (Check in June 30. Check out July 2, 2011). The agent took my Visa Debit card #, booking dates, and email address and told me the card would be charged immediately. I was ok with that. When the reservation was complete, the agent asked if she could give me the confirmation number. Because I was driving, I asked if the confirmation could be sent to my email. She stated yes and confirmed my email address. Later Friday evening I checked my email, but Travelocity had sent no confirmation number. I called Travelocity back to notify them that I had not received my confirmation number. The agent I spoke with at that time stated that he did not see a reservation, but still give the confirmation 24 hours to clear. On Monday, June 27, 2011, I decided not to travel during the holidays, so I called Travelocity back to cancel the reservation although I never received an email (I knew the reservation must be canceled within 24 hours). The agent at this time stated she did not see a reservation made under my name. She asked for my email address and card number again to make sure nothing was reserved. She stated nothing was showing up. On Wednesday, June 29, 2011, I called Travelocity again to make sure there was no reservation because I was sure that I would not be traveling to Niceville, Florida on Thursday. The agent this time was a male. He stated there was not a reservation under my name. I clearly asked if our conversation was being recorded (When calling Travelocity the recording states that the conversation is being recorded for quality purposes). He said yes! I asked again for him to repeat that no reservation was made in my name using the card number that I gave the Travelocity agent the first day of contact. He said again no mam. At that time, I was convinced that I would not be charged for a room.
On Tuesday, July 05, 2011, I checked my monthly online bank statement and it displayed a draft posted on July 4, 2011 from Quality Inn, Niceville, Florida. I immediately called Travelocity again and spoke with an agent name Rhonda. She and I talked over fifteen minutes trying to figure out why my account was draft for $115. 54. Rhonda asked me to file a complaint, but I really wanted to talk with a manager. She transferred the call to a manager name Dean. Dean reviewed all my information again, but nothing was solved. He called my bank to confirm what I said was true. He also called the hotel in Niceville, Florida for details. During this time, I was on hold. Dean than switched back to me and stated the manager at the hotel confirmed there was a reservation made and a charge was applied to my card because I never checked in. It sounded as if Dean was not going to solve this very inconvenient matter, so he gave me the hotel manager’s name and phone number to call for myself.
I called Quality Inn hotel manager Berry to get a better understanding as to what may have happen on their end. Berry stated that a reservation was made through a travel agent, but did not have an address nor contact number of the travel agent. He did provide me with a confirmation number that the travel agent sent the hotel during the time the reservation was made. The reservation number is [protected]. I than called Dean back at Travelocity to inform him a reservation was made and a confirmation number was given. Dean asked me to fax or email a receipt showing the draft from my account which I have enclosed in this letter.
I am asking that you please investigate the problem and reimburse me the full the amount drafted from my account. I will also be forwarding a copy of this letter to Consumer Complaints Agency, the National Quality Inn Customer Support, and the Travelocity Complaint Board, the Better Business Bureau, and the Travelocity Headquarters.
Thanks,
LaSonja Graves

Continual spam
Regrettably we chose Travelocity for airline tickets. We have been continually spammed ever since. Checking their UNSUBSCRIBE box does nothing but make all email from everyone disappear until the browser is restarted and then they continue on as nothing happened. Next time I fire up the computer in comes another spam. I wish I had checked the complaint...

stupid beach commercial
The Travelocity commercial with the man and woman sitting at the beach and the woman says "Our girl is an architect" and the man says "Our boy is a genius" is really annoying. I rarely pay attention to commercials when I watch TV but this certain commercial is very annoying and really ridiculous. And that woman's laugh is ear-piercing. Now when that commercial comes on I'll hit the mute button, it's that stupid.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Yeah, I totally agree. Just because their kids are playing at the beach doesn't mean that they're "Genius's."
My husband, my sister, my best friend and I all ADORE this commercial. Her laugh is just perfect!
travelocity rewards is a scam
Beware of Travelocity rewards/american express (issued by Barclays Bank)! They can zero out your points at their whim, and you have no recourse! I lost over $1, 000 worth of points... for details, read on.
I have been a member of Travelocity's rewards/travel points for several years. I had over 50, 000 unused points (I think it was actually over 60, 000, but I can't find out anymore because they're erased and my balance now says ... 0).
One day this Spring, I accidentally attempted to make a payment from the wrong bank account to my Travelocity Amex card balance. The payment bounced, and I promptly called them up to explain the accident, telling them I would make it right. But it was too late. I found out that they had already closed my account because of my "credit risk" (I haven't been late on a single payment for this card or any others in over three years). Apparently after the bounced payment, they saw that I sold my house and moved recently, which caused my credit score to drop ... and that made me a "risk".
Despite having the complete runaround on the phone through their Indian call center, I finally reached a person who seemed friendly. He said the only thing I could do to preserve my points was to open a new credit card with them. He transferred me over and they took my "application" info ... then two weeks later I got a letter saying I was denied (!?!). I've had good credit since 1985, I have a good paying job, I own two businesses ... crazy.
Then I contacted Travelocity directly, and the rep told me there was nothing she could do, that I had to to email their complaints address. I did that - and my email went into the ether, I never heard back.
So, they ended up stealing over $1000 worth of travel points from me on a whim because they randomly decided I was a "risk".
Do not use Travelocity rewards unless you like gambling that they won't suddenly decide that you're a "risk" too - and steal all your points in the process.
Besides, their customer service has really gone downhill, and who wants to deal with a company that's outsourcing jobs to a low paid call center in India with incompetent and unfriendly staff?
Stay away from Travelocity, and especially their rewards program. And if you don't believe me, just look up "Barclays bank" on the complaints board here, and see all the bad experiences people have had with them...
They messed with the wrong person, I'm sure that this one complaint will cost them more than the $1, 000 that they stole from me.
Take that, Travelocity (and Barclays)!

false advertising
I had performed a search earlier in the day for a flight from Atlanta to Portland Oregon. Apparently, it saved that search and when I went back to Travelocity I saw an advertisement for the trip for $289. I am a graduate student and that is a good price so I can go see my family. Well, when you search is shows about 15 flights/airlines that will do it for that price except that when you go to pick the dates none are available. I moved up in price $100 and found one flight out of the 15 that had seats on 3 different days, all about a week apart. When you click on any of the days your return flight has to be on the same day you fly in! Who flies all the way across the country to stay for 1 hour and get back on the plane? Travelocity does this to lure you in and they are technically correct...you can get a cheap price while in reality you are getting nothing but a seat and end up where you started 12 hours earlier. This is false advertising, it is a scam, and I have ended using Travelocity for my travel arrangements. Have used them for several years and now I'm just tired of their tricks.
Ya. You're right dude. Enjoy the 1 hr vacation. Guess you failed to understand the point of the whole complaint anyway. Guess we can be ignorant together. Oh..guess you have not gotten over it yet. Good luck.
You are truly naive. Good for your sister-in-law. Besides her and a drug runner, a ONE hour layover is worthless. I think even your brain can comprehend that you cannot leave the terminal, go through security again and make it to your plane. Either you are dense or work for Travelocity. Dang, I had to find the one idiot who actually sides with these other idiots. Anyway...to all the other folks out there who are not this guy's sister in law or a drug runner, don't buy from Travelocity.
Oh...buy the way...if you don't like what I'm saying about travelocity...get over it.
Never said they pulled them out of the air. I said you get what they advertised you just have to fly straight back as soon as you get there. Also, all but one airline did not ever have any dates available for that price as Travelocity said they did. THEY WERE NEVER AVAILABLE. I guess if you don't believe me you can talk to the rep in India I talked to before she hung up on me.
trip booked on wrong date
To whom it may concern: February 3, 2011 I surfed the web for Mardi Gras New Orleans and package deals came up for hotels. The only thing you see is the stars no information on the hotel name itself . You received the information after you put your personal information and credit card information. I know I entered the dates March 7th and 8th also staying...
Read full review of Travelocityspamming my cell phone!
Today I received a "spam" phone call from Travelocity, promoting their email to me about a sale! Really? I am on the Do Not Call list and they just violated it.
I called to tell them to take me off the list and got a person who barely spoke english telling me that I would have to email the complaint department, there is no phone there.
I will never use them for travel again. It will be worth a few dollars to not use them! This company obviously has no regard for my time or money by wasting cell phone minutes.

I was planning to buy one of these gift cards from Swag Bucks but now that I have found out this info I think I am no longer interested in doing so.
error on change by travelocty after paying change fees
I recently made an error on my airline reservations which cost me 900.00 to correct, it was 180.00 per person x 5. I called travelocity which is very annoying because all the agents there speak with a very heavy accent and has bad connections. Anyways, the agent changed my reservation and I told him I wanted another flight, he got so annoyed because I couldn't hear him well, he started to get angry. Fine so he clalimed to have changed it to the flight I wanted and reviewed the itinerary with me before hanging up and everything was fine. Several hours later I finally recieved the email confirmation and noticed that he did not change the flight I wanted and he kept the flight he gave me. I immediately called back and every idiot agent said that my itiniary has been documented anbd made me sound like I was at fault. After paying 900.00 plus the airfare differences, the reservation was still wrong. As a long time user of travelocity, I will NEVER use them again. These people are useless and unprofessional. There are plenty of other sites out there. Travelocity know where they can go.!
canceled ticket
I booked a ticket through Travelocity's website on Friday. I received an email confirming my reservation. Then I received an email the next day stating "the revenue protection department" needs to verify more information. Which by the way, the email looked like a Nigerian email scam and didn't look like it was an official email from Travelocity in any way. No one from that department ever called to verify this information with me at the numbers I provided, instead they somehow called my family (which I was surprising by flying over for Christmas) and questioned them about my flight. I have no idea how they got their phone number and why I was not called at the numbers I provided. I then received another email a few hours later that my reservation was canceled. So now flying over to "surprise" my family is ruined all for nothing since I don't even have a ticket anymore. I've booked countless airline tickets through various websites and have never encountered this. After reading that this same situation has happened to a lot of other people I regret ever using this website and will never make that mistake again.

DHL Sucks, I would always use Federal Express or UPS for sure
So when you contacted Travelocity what did they say?
dirty hotel, no refund
I booked a hotel in Miami for my daughter and her friends based on Travelocity's two star rating and the pictures provided. When they arrived the hotel was so dirty that it was unliveable and they checked out immediately and went to another hotel.
Travelocity was contacted immediately and they would not provide a full refund. I contacted customer service again and they said they would talk to the hotel manager to ask for a full refund. They did not contact me with results as promised. I called again and spent 50 minutes getting the same promise that they will talk to the hotel manager and call me. There is no one at Travelocity that solves problems and the customer service supervisor that I talked to could not procide customer service and knew of no one in the company that could help me.
They mislead us on the hotel quality and will not provide a full refund.
lying agents
I booked a hotel through Travelocity. When I received a court order, requiring my presense during the trip period, I contacted travelocity and asked for a hotel date change -- over three months in advance of the planed trip. They constantly lied to me during our conversations. They told me they were calling the hotel for their approval and put me on hold for long periods of time, . Each time, they said they couldn't get through to the hotel and to call back. THIS WAS AN OUTRIGHT LIE! I CHECKED AND THEY NEVER CALLED THE HOTEL! THEY WERE JUST MAKING MY LIFE DIFFICULT! WHEN I PROTESTED, THEY GOT MAD AND THEY CANCELLED MY RESERVATIUON AND KEPT MY MONEY!
I THINK ANYONE WHO USES TRAVELOCITY FOR ANYTHING IS MAKING A HUGE MISTAKE!
And by the away, the airline did change the dates of my nonrefundable air tickets. I was fortunate not to have booked the air travel through travelocity since they would have just probably kept that money too.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
They lied to me as well! They told me that the trip expenses would be fully refundable and explicitly told me to ignore the e-mail that stated otherwise. When part of the refund did not show up I called them again and they assured me once again the refund is on the way! DO NOT BELIEVE THEM - READ THE FINE PRINT! But better do not use them at all! I've booked 9 trips through them last year and everything was great every time. NOW SOMETHING HAS CHANGED - NEVER AGAIN!
beware
If you use Travelocity, and need to cancel a hotel reservation due to any reason or emergency. Travelocity WILL NOT REFUND your money. They will cancel your reservation, no problem, but your credit card will be charged automatically. The customer service is located in India, and they have no decision making skills, and are very difficult to understand. We now have two hotels booked for the same week, even though it says very clearly this hotel is refundable on an e-mail confirmation. Total ###. I will never book a hotel using Travelocity. Book directly with the Hotel. It is not worth the aggravation due to Travelocity's "cancellation policies", which is NONE.
scam/bait & switch
We made the mistake of calling Travelocity to inquire about hotel prices in Paris. The agent took our info and then booked the wrong dates! While on the same call - we pointed out that the dates he had booked were wrong - at which point the Indian CS dept for Travelocity (cheap unhelpful CS) put as on hold for 40 minutes. We got transferred to customer service who said they were part of LastMinute.com and could not help us, then we got transferred again to another person 'Kevin' who also said sorry but we cannot help. How can you not fix your own mistake? Travelocity is clearly cutting costs by outsourcing to India and these people on the phone are no help at all. They screwed up our reservation. We had to call bacj 3 days in a row and be transferred from one agent to the next - they claimed the hotel was closed, the hotel would not make the change etc etc. All becoz we made the mistake of calling Travelocity for a hotel reservation. Should have called the hotel directly. DO NOT MAKE HOTEL RESERVATIONS ON TRAVELOCITY - you will regret it.

I lost my flight and was redirected to a terrible flight
I have booked my flight for my family with Travelocity and to my amazement I found out they do not take any responsibility for bad service. I talked to several agents in India, who have no clue on what is going on in the US they told me that due to a storm the air lines are closed!
I lost my flight and was redirected to a terrible flight with young children, flying with 2 extra stops and arriving after midnight. All what I got is $100 credit for future travel which had to be a flight and hotel again with Travelocity. There is no place you can report this bad service, it is all controlled by Travelocity, you voice is just meaningless, and so are your complains!
price guarantee rip off
Travelocity does not honor reduced prices found on their own website. I booked with them for flight and hotel to Nassau. They guarantee a refund if you find a lower price.
I found a lower price of $395.00 on their website and they will not honor it. Their rules for the guarantee state they do not accept screen shots as proof of a lower price then after a month has passed they ask for a screen shot which by that time is impossible to get. I went back and forth with their non existant customer service dept to try and resolve the problem. They at the time of booking do not give you a way to prove they showed a lower price.

absurd refund policy
While traveling in Viginia, I mistakenly booked a hotel online in Richmond, rather than Roanoke, Virginia, I immediately realized my error. I called Travelocity within 2 minutes to cancel, or transfer the reservation. The man I spoke to refused to help me, and refused to let me speak to a superior. Instead, he kept me on hold until my cell phone battery wore out. Follow up emails and phone calls were met with more robotic answers--at no point was I ever spoken to as a real human being.
I have used Travelocity many times in the past, but never had to deal with customer service. As their product is no different from any other online travel site, and the prices are almost always identical among their competitors, all we have to differentiate one from the other is service. Travelocity did unimaginably poorly in this regard, so I would recommend using any other service over them. I am hugely disappointed.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Agreed. Poor customer service. They do not resolve problems. I used their Top Secret hotels. Found out that they use any hotel. Regardless of what it looks like. If they provide a room, then they will put you there. I now am filing a complaint to have the hotel condemned. Stay away from them. Use Hotwire or Priceline. They offer quality service at a discount.
Iam still fighting trying to get my money back!
travelocity.com overbooked hotel
I booked a hotel through Travelocity and received an email confirmation of the same. Yet when I checked into the hotel was told they could only accomodate me for 1 night as Travelocity had overbooked the hotel. When I called to complain I was told they could give me a $25 credit for my next travel. How would that help me with my current situation as the entire city was booked and I had to return home?
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Dude, you were lied to by the hotel. Travelocity cannot overbook a hotel, the hotel overbooks.
travelocity has successfully deducted the $1888 for the cost of the ticket
I picked up my emails... 4 hours before departing from Sydney to the UK by Malaysia Airlines (to attend my Mother's funeral). Amongst the emails was a notice from Travelocity (now nicknamed Attrocity!) saying that my reservation was cancelled due to 'non validation'. Assuming that non validation meant that the transfer of funds from a flight booked in sydney, paid to a US company from a bank account in the UK could be to blame I blasphemed the bank and tried to rebook the ticket. I phoned Malaysia air.. no problem they would keep my seat open for one hour... on a 45 minutes phone call later STILL talking to Travelocity in the US (or was it Telephone workers in Bangladesh) I had the same rhetoric.. no, we can't undo a reservation that was cancelled ... you need to book another ticket online (despite me pointing out that this would show all seats booked and would ignore my 'saved' seat sitting there reserved by Malaysian airlines).. and finally... I have to pay for this ticket with Malaysia airlines.. despite Malaysian airlines advising me that I had to pay for it from the original people I booked with.
I write this now... the flight has flown, I have missed my Mother's funeral, and after all this.. I find that Travelocity has successfully deducted the $1888 for the cost of the ticket.. That they have advised me after another long phone call, interminable waiting jingles and chasms of silence that it will take me 30 days to be reimbursed...
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Travelocity and Orbitz...they just suck. I will ALWAYS use a real travel agent.
