fitting the right size eyeglasses to the face
The people there are very courteous..but the glasses the i picked out did not fit my face and are way too large .You have to understand that my eyes had been dilated and I would assume that the salesperson would have said those are too large for your face. Now I am stuck with a pair of glasses I hate. I would not go back to Vision Works.
Also the lenses were so dirty on the sample pairs that you could barely see through the lense to make a comparsion.
Store employee
I was at the Amsterdam, New York location on Wednesday August 21st, 2019 at 130pm for an exam. I had the unfortunate experience of working with store employee, Rita.
She was, for lack of better descriptions, obnoxious towards me, children in the store and her fellow employees. She would ask me a question, snap, cut me off before I could reply and was beyond rude. She yelled at me when I started to walk into the drs exam room after he had asked me to come in and she snapped at me again, accusing me of just walking in on my own. The dr. Head her and apologized profusely for her behavior. After my exam, she yelled at children in the lobby, who were sitting together and talking quietly to each other and then yelled at the employee who was assisting me with my new prescription and told her to " shut up". Everyone in the lobby was in a state of shock.
I have been in administrative management in the field of developmental disability for 25 plus years and have NEVER experienced such a unprofessional and out of control customer service employee in all my life. Please feel free to contact me directly for additional information. [protected].
I spoke with the employee who was assisting me after she yelled at her " DONNA, you need to shut up. ". And she said to me in confidence. " she is always like that, I try not to take it personal. ". No one should gave to tolerate a blatant bully at work or anyplace else. Diana Lozier
customer service
If I could give them anything below zero I would. They're customer service is the absolute worst. They take forever to answer the phone then put you on hold for 10+ minutes and then ask you again why you called. They wouldn't give me my contact lens prescription number because I didn't come in for a follow up. I didn't come in because the doctor did not...

May 23, 2019 I ordered reading glasses BYGO, 2 different frames-same price-paid for glasses and was told two weeks, that same week -Saturday-was told my glasses were in. When I went to pick them up they were the idential frames, Coleen did not order correctly. I picked out the different frames again and was told they would rush. Two weeks later I had to call and when I went to pick them up they were the same frames AGAIN. I was told they would again reorder - two weeks later I was told that the lenses broke and they needed to re-order again. Another two weeks have gone by and this time Simone tells me that the lenses came in scratched. A person should not have to wait almost 8 weeks for simple reading glasses. Not only is the customer service the worse but when I originally went in the store almost every pair of glasses the glass were smudged with finger prints. The first time I went to pick up my glasses the glass was also smudged and the young lady just handed to me. No one checked to make sure they even fit properly-terrible terrible customer service. I will not be going back there again once I recieve my second pair of reading glasses thay they owe me.
general manager michelle r @ citibank plaza location # 677
On 6/29, I went to pick up my glasses at this location. Progressive lenses were supposed to be ordered for me, but were not. When I tried to tell store manager, Michelle R. this, I was told that no, progressives were not ordered for me, only readers. I attempted to explain that the doctor who did my exam stated that I should now be in progressive lenses, we had discussed this. The young lady who took all of my information and payment for the glasses even explained how long it would take to get used to progressives. Michelle then went to the computer and came back about 2 mins later saying "no you were only getting readers, but if you want progressives, it would be an additional charge." Now, I did not have an issue with the charge. What I had an issue with was the staff acting as though I had no idea what I was talking about. I went back to my home and got my paperwork, and sure enough the doctor had stated I was to get PROGRESSIVE LENSES. When I took the information back to the store, Michelle was rather rude to me and to the other staff member who was attempting to help me, to the point that the staff member mouthed the words "I'm sorry". I showed Michelle R. my paperwork and asked if she had the same paperwork in her system that stated I was to get progressive lenses. She stated yes but then came up with some excuse as to why I wasn't initially charged for them at my exam visit. I would have been completely fine had someone, ANYONE said "sorry, we made a mistake. We didn't submit your order with the progressive lenses." But no, no one said it, she tried to make it out like I was crazy, and I find that unacceptable and unprofessional.
paid for pairs of glasses that I did not receive
To whom it may concern! I visited the store and paid 669 dollars, I ordered a computer pair, by mistake they did it as a near pair and they promised to replace it. I found myself obliged to buy another deal of plastic lenses 2 pairs 59 dollars they made it wrong presecription and here my journey starts between visionworks and my doctor. On April 23rd I...

For the past two years, I have received regular emails from Visionworks Doctors of Optometry in Richmond, Kentucky. These are reminder emails for eye exam checkups. Firstly, I have never contacted Visionworks, let alone scheduled eye exams. I live in Japan, have never been to Kentucky in my life, and have 20/20 vision. Secondly, I have repeatedly...

I have been coming to Value Vision Works ever since he was Doctors Vision Works I have come here for years and years as has my entire family for years and years have come and gotten glasses and contacts and everything that we need from this location we are in Smyrna Tennessee on the Sam Ridley location and out of whatever mishaps my eyes are in bad shape I've ripped my last pair of contacts my glasses are not strong enough to drive in and I can't afford an exam until next week again I've come here for years my prescription is expired by matter of days and they won't let me purchase or give me a set of trial lenses to tide me over they have just lost an entire family full of our patients and I think this is just bull crap I am so upset right now I can't even freaking drive home because my glasses are not strong enough my contacts ripped and they did this just to be rude. a matter of days this is you know this is not right at all this is the worst customer service ever how can you be loyal to somebody for years and years I have had the same prescription literally for 15-20 years I'm 40 years old I've been in contact since I was 14 I've had the same damn prescription for decades so it's not like anything has changed or anything weird been going on there is nothing other than the fact that they didn't want to help me because it was a matter of days late policy and procedure is fine but you treat people with respect and this is crap I am going to tell everybody never ever to come here
every single doctor that I've ever gone to my entire life has never had any problem floating someone a pair of trial lenses to get them over for a week I'm not asking to not come back or not get an exam. I always have to have a current presctiptio. Bc i order lenses throughout the entire year. One week and i cant be helped out
glass frames
Bought frames at store. Waited extra long to receive them. Got them and had to have the frames replaced 3 times in a year because the just would pop apart at the lens. Then this week the temple snapped. Went into the store was told that the company does not sell temples. I would have to buy a new frame. Then I find out that the frame is discontinued. Well I guess i'm sol. Never again when you can order on line. Better selection, better price, less time to receive them.
glasses
Bought glasses last July. Was told my eyes got better and they changed my prescription. They were not as clear as my last prescription. Went back to ask if I could get my old prescription lens put in my glasses due to headaches all the time. Was told I have to pay for another exam and the new lenses. My lenses are under warranty until July. Poor customer service! This is BS that I have to pay all over again when my lenses are in warranty. I paid 4 different doctors for exams and tests because I get headaches all the time. I will never go back again if they don't make this right. I have been buying glasses from them for 25 years!
lincoln highway, lancaster, pa store
Visionworks in Lancaster, PA, is the most unprofessional company that I have ever dealt with. I had an eye appointment scheduled three weeks ago for today. I get there 15 minutes early. I get checked in, I am brought back for the 1st two tests, and then am told to go pick out my glasses and leave them in a tray. I get done, and go sit down to wait for the doctor, who then comes out and calls in the woman who had just checked in. I tell him that I am next, and he says, "oh go talk to (whatever her name was). She then tells me that they tried to call me several times to tell me that my appt. was rescheduled. I never got a call or even a message, yet she insists they called several times. Even if they did and I never heard it, they can't leave a message? I also got an email reminder about TODAY'S appointment. So apparently they also knew my e-mail and could not have let me know that way? Instead I get a reminder yesterday about today's appointment?

incorrect lenses on one pair and wrong frame size on the second pair.
On 12/22/2017 I went to the Hadley MA Visionworks store for an eye exam and frame/lens purchase as well my daughter. After approx. a week and a half later our frames are ready. My daughter is unable to wear her new glasses due to getting head aches while wearing them. I was unable to wear mine as well due the frames pinching my temples causing head aches. So back we go and they attempt to adjust my frames. After several attempts they are handed back to me and now are bending outwards from the nose bridge area making the lenses very distorted and still a very tight fit. My daughters lenses were checked and told they skipped a step while making the lens and need to be returned. I then asked another associate to check my frame/lens and was told both pairs should not have left the store due to the issues. So I pick out a correct size frame and here we wait 1/18/2017 and still no glasses. Another very unprofessional tactic was having the associate try to charge me for the "top of the line lens/coatings etc" when my insurance covered all the my glass/lens I needed and being told it was a hassle to have to resubmit the cost and coverage fees. Not a great experience being a new customer.
misinformed about copay coverage
I scheduled an annual screening sometime in september to an optometrist but was found to have eye infection (Keratitis) so I was prescribed with an eye gtt antbx to be used for 7days and told to come back after a week for follow-up, meanwhile the customer service said that it will be covered by my medical insurance and wasnt told about the copay. After a week I came back, seen for less than a minute and was told my eyes werent cleared yet (Missed few dose), so I scheduled again hoping that next meeting my eyes will be cleared from infection and ill be able to used my vision benefits. To my dismay I was told that my eyes werent clear again yet (This is more than 2wks on eye gtts antibiotics) and asked to come back again for another follow up check. Me hoping the optometrist will clear my eyes the 3rd follow up check planned on getting another schedule but was beyond pissed when I learned and asked the optometrist if the next time (4th visit) if I got cleared will she be able to do the annual eye screening... She told me that I need to re schedule another day becaused technically they cannot bill two of my insurances (Medical (Blue cross/blue shield and davis vision) at the same day. Not sure how this works but these are the words she told me. I was so pissed thay it all boils down to insurance billing and all that... Wasted my time to come back several times hoping I can use my vision insurance before the year ends. Then to add up more insult to the injury I receive copay bills of $40 each visit (X3)... I was so infuriated that I clarified the bills to visionworks danvers spoke to curtis hamel was told that its not a copay but its service rendered and direct me to contact their billing department and my medical insurance (Blue cross/blue shield). I did contact blue cross blue shield and was told that they didnt received any service claim from vision works but only the patient co-pay that I need to shoulder. I really dont mind paying co-pays and I never had problem with this until now, I felt deceived and mis informed. I only want to use my vision benefits from the start, if only during the first meeting that ill be billed for copays, I wouldnt have gone back the 2nd and 3rd time (And was asked to come back the 4th time) I would have gone to an opthalmologist instead... Up until now my blood boils everytime I think about this...
horrible service, inaccurate prescription placed in glasses sales receipt 5.9 nt [protected]
After many years of using FOR EYES optical I had to use your service since the eye insurance company used by my employer changed to Davis Vision and your company was the preferred in network service. What a mistake! I went to your optical located at 12208 Pines Blvd. Pembroke Pines Florida on 11/09/2017. I was told there was a special offer of buy 2 frames for the price of S89.00 but upon close inspection of the frames there is only a handful of frames at this discounted price, each rack is stacked with the same discounted frames! Regardless, I ordered 2 pairs of glasses: 1 progressive distance, 1 to wear over my contact lenses for reading. I came in on 11/17/2017 for pickup. The reading glasses were made incorrectly duplication of first prescription. I was told I would have to wait another week in a half till after the holidays for the correction to be made. The optometrist wouldn't even see me at 4:30 p.m. since I was having problems with the contacts and there were no patients waiting! Couldn't get another trial pair. After paying $226.50 for the upgrades like non-glare which doesn't even work! (These have more glare than my previous pair which doesn't have the non-glare feature!) I would have to make another trip to the shop for a follow up trial pair of contacts! I would like at least a discount on your horrible products and bad service! Extended wait and won't even have a pair of contacts to wear for the holidays!
Customer service
My husband and myself have been coming here for years. With the new staff since we came last I assure you we will be looking for a new place to go. We never waited over an hour past our appointment time before . If they were busy I could understand, however no one else has come in. There was one person here before us. As well as two of the female workers talking loudly about their weekend and applying makeup. Very disappointed in your choice for this store. Best of luck if this is how you run all your store.
Did you ask the staff about the wait? Is it possible that the two women talking were not trained sufficiently to assist you?
Eyeglasses error
Hello,
I am writing as a very dissatisfied customer. I went to your Altamonte Springs store around February 2016 to get contacts. I have only worn 1 contact, in my right eye, for quite a few years, maybe at least 7 years. The left eye does not require prescription.
So I got my contact lenses, and they offered me glasses at an additional charge. So I told them OK, and ordered the glasses. I explained in detail that the left lens would not have a prescription, and they seemed to understand.
I have not worn the glasses until recently, as I ran out of contacts. Well, guess what, I cannot see close up with the glasses as they did put a prescription on the lens. I can see almost perfectly far away, but cannot see anything at all close up. I have to take off my glasses to see up close, which is ridiculous. Obviously, your staff did not follow instructions and my request, so these glasses are only for distance, as I see perfectly close up without glasses.
It is too late to do anything now, as I only just started wearing them. I will NEVER use
Vision Works again a day in my life, and will give a poor recommendation to all I know that use your facilities.

Paid for glasses and glasses were not received? Fraudulent activities
I paid for 2 pair of glasses Dec.31st, 2017. I Telephoned to pick glasses up. Went to pick them up but was dissatisfied with one pair due to the thickness of the frame (paid extra price to have frames thin and intentionally displayed by rx to sales associate on date the glasses were ordered and paid to make certain this feature would enable my frame to be thinner since eye sight is bad. I was given assurance, so I paid for the feature.
2nd pair of glasses did not look to have anything done to thin the frame, it was thick. I did not take the glasses but took the 1st pair. The manager was not there but they said one would call.
I received a call from a manager and we discussed. She told me to take my time and the glasses would be there, not to rush and they would take care of me.
For unbeknown reason I will not like to share, I went back today to inquire about the glasses 4-5 months later. The supervisor informed me that it was my fault I waited so long, they did not have the glasses and they could have been considered as abandon in which they are thrown away.
No phone call to informed me they were throwing them away, no tracking information as to what they have on the abandon list or throw away list, no documentation of the customer several discussions about the dissatisfaction, no documentation of whether I picked the glasses up or not (I was informed they don't do anything of these things). No validation of any thing being pick up and all they do is have where I paid and that is it.
These practices should be investigated. I do not see a large company such as this acting in such a irresponsible manner (no validation of a two step process- fitting your glasses and receiving them). This is critical. And to just throw away paid glasses, no.no.. No.
it is my belief that someone from the inside did not expect me to come back and they turned the glasses in and they received my funds as a credit. This is fraudulent, all of the practices should be reviewed by an external auditor. I have emailed customer complaint with all supportive documents and more detail, I am also going to hand deliver a copy of my email to the local store, and my bank will get a copy because at this point is only about the principle-doing what is right.
Being treated in a rudeness way (no respect)
On Sept.30 we stopped by Visionworks store #66 at 5619 Loop 1604 N Suite 114. We were properly greeted by a Lady name Katherine.who was very helpful She obtained all the information from us and asked if we wanted tolook at some frames for my son's glasses. We told her that we would look at some to see which one's my son would pick.
Well while we were standing next to a set of glasses and my son trying them on, this lady just cut in front of me like I wasn't there. Later I found out she was the manager (Rene) she did this a couple of times without saying excuse me or sorry.I just looked at her but didn't say anything . I was going to forget the incident but we went back to the store on Saturday the 7th to see if any frames that my son wanted had come in. And I was greeted by the Manager Rene, never thinking that I would run into her again. And it just brought back thoughts of her rudeness the first time I saw her and the way she greeted was like she didn't feel like greeting customers. This lady is a manager and she greets people and treats them rude .All I know If I was her supervisor, she would not be working for me any longer. Very Rude lady.
Price
Your ad on the internet states "2 pairs $29 - Single vision" and "2 pairs $69 - progressive"
I wanted 2 pair progressive lenses, one pair clear glass and one pair sunglasses. I expected to pay a little more for the sunglasses, alas, a "little" more became a "lot" more. The total price quoted to me was in excess of 500.00.
This was at your store in the Alliance Center in Alliance, Texas.
What's up with that?
Unprofessional
I only went to Visionworks because my insurance company covered more towards the exam and lenses. My first visit there I saw Palmieri. My first impression of him was that he was not very welcoming. He checked my eyes and prescribed a prescription for my glasses which I picked up 2 weeks later. I tried them for 2 days, but I got a instant headache and my vision was very blurry, so I called back and scheduled an appointment with another optometrist because I thought if "Mr Charming" couldn't get in right maybe his colleague could. She tried a few different lenses but couldn't get it right either. I was about ready to give up and pay out of pocket elsewhere. However, I decided to give them a 3rd try since my insurance had already been billed and made another appointment for 6/16/17. I wasn't aware that it was scheduled with "Mr. Charming" again. During my visit, he kept making the comment "as we get older our eyes get worse" Okay, I understand that, but are you penalizing me because I'm older. How would you treat a senior? He made that comment about 6 times and kept trying different lenses, is 1 better than 2 or is A better than B. So, I said, A is better than B but it's still blurry and he made that comment again, well as we get older...I said "isn't that why we get glasses so we can see" and his comment was, "I can't fix your eyes." I had enough. I told him to give me my glasses I'm done. Told him he was rude and walked out. I would rather pay out of pocket and go elsewhere rather then ever step foot in a Visionworks again.
