assistant manager
I work at the Von's store 2370 at 3993 governor drive San Diego California 92122. My assistant manager Mike Shima is a straight jerk to me on constant basis. I asked him repeatedly nicely not to talk to me in such a demeaning manner and he just won't stop. He thinks because he is the assistant manager that he can treat his employees anyway that he wants to. I have a viable disability and it is messed up because he uses my disability to his advantage to talk and treat me however he wants to. What my assistant manager is doing is harassment. No matter what way you look at it. I also filed a complaint against him with the ADA. He needs to be fired. This is unacceptable from any manager. I don't deserve to be treated that way neither does any employee of any company.
Thank you,
Lora Esquivel

the just for u app/coupons
Saw there was a coupon for tecate beer 30 ok. For 16.99 downloaded the app entered all my info went to check out punched my number in and it wouldn't worked. I used my vons card (not connected to app) and it discounted the beer to 21.99. I asked the cashier (her tag said Roxanne/supervisor on it) if my coupon worked. She responded (kind of rude) that no because my number that is associated with my app isnt connected to my card. The app said it was optional to link my number to a card.
vons on tamarack in carlsbad
This VONS attempts to sell rotten, expired produce and meats... it is disgusting, dirty and rude. People here are rude because there are lines down the aisles at ALL HOURS of the day, getting an employee here to help you is ridiculous. I once stood at the deli counter waiting to get deli meats and cheeses while three employees stood occupied by not helping customers with important duties such as refilling straws or walking into the back to avoid helping customers. It takes twenty people in line before they open a new register, and when they do, it's as if they hire the slowest checkers intentionally to not facilitate customers. I am going to boycott this Vons, ask all my neighbors and people I know who shop there out of convenience to NOT shop there any longer in protest of demanding fresh edible not expired non-rotten food, meats and produce and improved customer service. I am absolutely SICK of this store. Then, when they finally decide to open a register with twenty customers in each line, they just randomly announce 'we can take someone in this line' so that people standing in the long lines begin to become rude and irate with one another after standing in yet another Tamarack Vons long line down the aisle waiting to purchase their rotten expired food.
customer service by starbuck employee
I have been to this location numerous times and the Starbucks employee by the name of Teresa has very foul language and personal comments or personal stories with other employees while using horrible language
This isn't the first time that I have been uncomfortable or upset but I had my four-year-old daughter with me and dropping the F*** bomb Along with other words abs her partying situation I don't find appealing
I shop at this location it almost every day and the coffee is very convenient but it almost makes it not worth going to have to listen to that my coworkers and I at our place of business have all noticed it and it was mentioned and talked about on couple of different occasions . I do shop at this location it almost every day and the coffee is very convenient but it almost makes it not worth going to have to listen to that my coworkers and I at our place of business have all noticed it and it was mentioned and talked about on couple of different occasions so I don't want to feel as if I'm nitpicking but it's very unprofessional
5 gallon arrowhead water
I bought multiple 5 gallon containers of arrowhead water which I believe Vons charges a 7.00 deposit for the "plastic container".
I went yesterday to return 2 jugs to Vons and they wouldn't take them. Said I could only get credit if I buy more water. I explained to the manager I just want the deposit back, she suggested I call a recycler?! What?! Why can't I get a refund for a deposit I paid?
unprofessional communication between pharmacist and doctor, causing harm
Firstly, my family and I have been customers of this Vons Pharmacy (5500 Woodruff Ave., Lakewood, CA 90713) for more than 30 years, so this is difficult for me; however, someone needs to know about this, so it doesn't happen to someone else. I firmly believe that my rights and my daughter's rights to privacy were violated by this pharmacy.
My daughter struggles with serious mental illness. We've been filling her meds prescriptions at this pharmacy for 5 or 6 years now--numerous prescriptions each and every month. Over the past few months, she was hospitalized seven times.
Her doctor and his colleagues were working with a variety of medications and dosages to try to calm her psychoses. It continues to be extremely difficult, because her illness is unusual for an 11-year-old.
June 12, 2018, she was transferred by her own psychiatrist's hospital to an acute acute care facility for a "fresh set of eyes" on her case. The facility's doctor contacted one of the pharmacists (He did not say which of the two.), who apparently had many inflammatory things to say about me, personally. She was so unprofessional and so inflammatory that my daughter's acute care doctor not only refused to treat her, but filed alligations against me with DCFS! DCFS found no merit in the charges, and the case is being closed; however, the damage was done. My daughter went untreated, and will continue to go untreated in a hospital setting until the case is fully closed.
To say that this Vons Pharmacy will no longer have my family's business simply isn't enough. My daughter, an innocent bystander, was harmed by the complete ignorance of a pharmacist who obviously has little respect for me (the customer) and little understanding of mental health hospitalzations and titrating mental health medications during mental health crises.
Action needs to be taken to insure that this pharmcy doesn't violate other patients' rights and trust. I would like follow-up communication to insure that someone is handling this situation. I can be reached via email. Thanks.
customer service
I cannot believe Vons told me to get a rain check on a product out of season and will not be available for a year. They advertised it on Just4U, and was never in stock. This is how they handle the customer. Make them the victim. Just like hiring child molesters and fugitive of the law. Shanera Gomez, of Highland Village Park is an example. They want to blame the messenger of their hiring practices, instead of admitting that they are employing people who are avoiding serious criminals living in Ca. to avoid prosecution. What is your excuse Vons? Are you that desperate? Must be. Blame the consumer, it is our fault.
sliced breakfast potatoes in produce since 6/1/18
Product used to be sold in a plastic container that was resealable. Now it comes in a produce tray wrapped with plastic wrap.
I cannot eat 1lb 6oz in one setting and miss the old containers. I'm not going to repackage this every time. The product dries out if not used right away.
You're just giving me a reason to shop somewhere else to save half a penny on the packaging
filthy store
I live in Santa Maria, CA, I shop at Vons Nipomo, CA Or Vons Lompoc, CA because our Santa Maria, CA store has just went down tremendously. Today however I am at work, so I called in a Sandwich order at the service Deli here in Santa Maria because if I don't call it in, it will take me almost 35-40 from order to paying at the check stands, well I came in got sandwich, wanted to get some pasta salad, I look down the pasta is gross looking, looks like 5 days old, mayo or dressing hard and brown looking, and so I look over to another salad, same thing, I ask the service deli guy, these cannot be fresh ( discusted look) right, then I specific said are these fresh? He stuttered, no I DONT think so. So I go up to the front check outs, even the cashier noticed and said boy they did a horrible job wrapping that huh, so I told her this store has went down completely discusting, needs to be addressed or shut down, I asked where I can address a complaint, she told me to call the GM. Please do something with this place, remodel, close down, something.
lazy cashiers: locate is - 12961 chapman ave garden grove, ca 92840 get directions phone number [protected]
This Von's is pretty much hate and sometimes like place. I always try to avoid this store and go to Ralphs on chapman/euclid instead but... Once in a while when i'm in a hurry I go here since it's closer and my main complaint here are THE CASHIERS. I went here last week around 10am on a friday, walked up to a empty line. The cashier didn't look up or acknowledge me but was playing with a roll of tape. So I asked him if the lane was open, his response "well that's why the lights on"..duh, I know the fricking light is on but your playing with your tape and you don't acknowledge me so I wasn't sure. He's sitting in this stool at the cash register. He bags my stuff but NEVER OFFERS to put it in the cart. Hello? this is part of your job! This store is suppose to be full service, but it's NOT... That's one of the reason's I hate this store. You pay full prices and they just bag and leave it there on the counter, put it in the frickin customers cart! That's your job! get off your stool and move! I would have been better off just driving the extra mile to avoid the LAZY CASHIERS here.*** the one thing is most of the people who work here do say hello and are nice..***
* how about hiring cashiers that want to do their job, instead of cashiers that don't" OR at least cut the prices since you end up putting your grocery bags in the cart by yourself* you shouldn't have to ask for help!
security officer at the vons in escondido, ca on 351 w. felicita ave
I would like to voice a complaint about the woman security officer at this location. I was just at the vons on Saturday night June 23 and I had a bag of candy in my hands and set the bag on a closed register so i could look at the magazines that are located in the front of the store and immediately the security officer started telling me in a sturdy voice and pointing at me saying that i needed to go pay for the bag of candy. I explained to her that i was looking at the magazines to find which one i wanted to buy and would pay for the candy once i found magazine and then she started to almost shout at me saying "you need to go now" all while she was still pointing at me and then she said "you left basket here last time and never came back" which is totally wrong because i did leave a basket at a closed counter and told her i needed to go get my wallet and would be back so i drove to my house where my wallet was and came back to the vons and this took about 20 minutes and when i arrived to the vons they already put all the items in my basket back on the shelfs so i grabbed a new basket and got everything i needed and payed for it all and went home all without incident. I dont think i did anything wrong but to have that woman security gaurd embarrass me like that in front of other customers telling me to get out of there and not allowing me to complete my shopping all while she was pointing at me treating me like i was a criminal or something like that. I am very worried about what will happen during future visits to this vons because i live in the area and this vons is the place i have been shopping at for years but now i am worried that everytime i shop here the security officer will come after me like she did so i think i may have to shop somehwere else from now on in fear of being embarrassed and harrassed by this woman security guard. Other than that your vons employees and the store itself is wonderful but that woman security officer was way out of line and i sincerely hope she has not done that to anyone else.
the company in general
I've gone into this store, Mira Mesa, California, a few times needing something. I'm usually a bit frustrated by the complete disorganization of this store. Their dairy alone is split up and halfway across the store from each other. Really? Who thought up the arrangement of this place, the three stooges?
My major complaint is the service. We went in looking to buy Del Mar Fair tickets. It wasn't until it was time to pay they told us they'd run out and were no longer selling those tickets. Yet, the following day, Albertson's sold us a pair no problem. So, how it "that deal is over" when everywhere else is still selling them? Why would they stop selling a deal that is still going to be in town another two weeks? I can tell you. Lazy, inconsiderate and undertrained customer service. But, that's standard for Vons, I've found.
I'm not going to complain about the long lines. I'm more interested in how so many people come to the same place with the same complaints. But then, they are the only store in the area, so that might be why they don't care if we're happy or not. But the minute a competitor arrives, they'll wake up, I'm sure. Too bad it'll be too late.
It surprises me is that there are so many negative reviews of this store, yet nothing changes. That tells me that the store simply doesn't care about what the customers think. That's fine, in my opinion. You see, we live in a country where the store has competition (not that it would be difficult to compete with such lazy and ineffective service). So, Since this last visit, I've made the definitive decision that I will never again walk into Vons. Not just this Vons, any Vons. This isn't just a store issue, it's a corporate one. I'm basically going on a Vons strike. I've done this before and that restaurant hasn't seen a dime of my money since 1991. I spent $13 on items I didn't need to get tickets I didn't get. So, I don't think Vons deserves my business anymore. You burned me for that $13. It'll be the last. I know this won't affect the company at all. But, at least I have the peace of mind knowing I won't be wasting my money supporting what I see as one of the worst active companies in business.
customer service issue
I don't usually do this... But my cashier was snippy with me this morning... Maybe not having a 'great day' whatever its the second time she has done it to me... I will not shop again in that store because of it... Ruby today when answering my silly comment that I forgot my glasses at home and I can't see... She answered me in a tone where maybe she thought I said I could not hear... She snapped at me what I owed her for the product I bought... I looked at her in the face and said "I didn't say I could not hear... I stated I can't see without my glasses.."... She in her way rolled her eyes... The last time she made a comment about how much liquor I was buying... Maybe it was a homophobic issue... I am a queen... And I don't hide the fact I am gay especially since I am 64 and not about to go back into my closet... Reason being I am in redlands... My sister works for albertson's in palm springs we live together she is helping me out in a difficult time... She can't act like that to customers what gives ruby the right to insult me
late night cashier
My boyfriend entered your store before they closed at 1 am. He went shopping as quickly as he couldn't when he got to the register the cashier told him that he couldn't ring up his groceries but told him in a disrespectful n hostile way. That it was past 1am n he had to wait for 40min.to be able to check him out. Why didn't he say over the p.a. that he had 5min to shop but no one said anything, usually something is said over the p.a. To me he could have been more polite n told him something while he was shopping..I'm very disappointed in the customer service he just received.
flower department
Hello, on about April 21st I came in to the store on 6155 El Cajon Blv in San Diego it was about 3 weeks prior to my daughter's graduation from SDSU. I live in Bakersfield California and I needed to order her a Lei for her graduation. I wanted to have have nice fresh ones. So I have talked to a lady in customer service. No one was attending the flowers shop. She took my order for 2 of them. My daughters dream was to have them in the graduation ceremony so she can take pictures. Long story short I have called twice prior and confirmed with the girls that I have my order. I was told yes it's here. I called to let them know I will pick it up on Saturday 5/12/2018 the day of the ceremony. So they will be nice and fresh. I got to the store around 9 or 10 in the morning and I was shocked to find out that I only have one and not 2. And the one they gave me was just a complete embarrassment. It was all ruten it was not fresh. Now that's the last one they had at the store. I was really upset, you can understand why. I have talked to the manager and she did agree that the flowers looked bad. Really bad. So she agreed to give me flowers instead. And not charge me for it. It was nice. But still very wrong not to have my order. I had no time for arguments it would not help me anyway. So I took the lei and the flowers and I left. My daughters pictures looks beautiful? Not at all she only got to take one picture on stage and then she had to take it off. It was falling apart.
I as writing to let you know that the free flowers did not meet the big disappointment that my daughter had. Someone needs to understand that this was very bad thing. Someone did not manage this order like they needed. The free flowers did not compensate me or my daughter.
I am sure that no one would like to disappoint their child on a day like that. She worked so hard for 4 years and one little thing that I wanted to make her happy. Went all wrong.
I like to here what do you think about that?

This customer should be banned from the pharmacy. She harasses the pharmacy technician on a weekly basis. I did the training for zero tolerance on LDC. Harassment is a serious offense. It creates a hostile environment. 5/9/18 she came to the pharmacy for me to ring up her groceries to avoid conflict Gary went to the counter told her to ring up her groceries up at the front she had no prescription. And when I spoke she told me not to talk to her! 3/26/18 at 3:40 pm her boyfriend and her dog approached the window and he specifically said he wanted someone else to help her! Later they called the store manager on me. Keep in mind I don't say anything to her. And I'm forced to help her? She's rude she hit me with a shopping cart and literally records me to get a rise out of me. She honestly needs to pick her crazy! I don't have time to deal with this I have 11 years on my belt and great customer service. But who's protecting me. Or would you rather lose a technician for stress leave? She's called corporate on me so I can lose my job. And physically touched me and yet I'm suppose to crack a smile and thank her for shopping at Vons! I've had it! And who protects the employees? This doesn't make any sense yet week after week she taunts me. Calls my name 6 times as loud as she can. Yet runs to the assistant and store manager like a scared little girl. 3/29/18 I was hit with a shopping basket by her! 6/1/18 she's at the pharmacy again. But when I see her outside she has nothing to say it's like I'm a complete stranger. She went from she's scared for her life till wanting service! Something has got to give! I go back to work in one week! I can't deal with nonsense when I shouldn't. I'm decriminated against.

products on shelf past sell by date
I have been a very loyal Vons shopper for over 30 years. My ex-husband is a retired Vons employee and I also worked at Vons for a short period of time. I have always loved this company and shopping at their stores...but things have changed recently. The quality control has gone way down. I have been checking out and the checker and courtesy clerk are having their own conversation about weekend plans or whatever and have basically ignored the fact that I'm standing there. Last week on my weekly shopping trip, the courtesy clerk packed the packs of tortillas upright and they were all split when I came home. Yesterday I bought chicken drumsticks and when I went to cook them today, I noticed that the sell by date was 5/31! I have been shopping and have seen many things out of code and have brought it to someone's attention. It's been getting very frustrating for me. I spend at least $250 a week at Vons and to get this type of quality and service is disappointing.
vons gas station, foothill blvd., upland
Regarding Vons Gas Station on Foothill Blvd., Upland.
I was at this gas station on Monday, 5/30/18 at around 5:00 p.m. Cashier was a man, white, approximately 30 yrs. old with Brown short hair.
At this gas station, the cashier is in an enclosed glass shed/box. I placed $30 in a small plastic bowl in slider. The little door closes and cashier slides money towards him and I mention $25.00 on pump #1. I had to tell him the pump number three different times for some reason? I guess because he's in a glass enclosed box and could not hear me? I looked at pump to make sure that was the correct number. (First time at station.) Then he says, you only gave me "two tens". Now, because I was in the state of mind that I wasn't sure about the pump number, I started second guessing myself about the amount I put down, so I believed him, for that second. But I know I gave him $30 because when I was walking towards the cashier to pay, I arranged my money and placed the $20 underneath the $10 (OCD). Because he's the only one in the "box" and customer does not have eye on the money once slider door closes to confirm, it's his word against mine. I was about to ask for my money back but then it occurred to me, he could easily switch money without me noticing because I am on the other side of the window and don't have a good view of drawer. Not the same as going in a convenience store. Wanted to bring to your attention to possibly check your security cameras if you have one in the box for this transaction to see what really occurred. If this guy is a crook, can you imagine the amount of cash he takes home after his shift.
Thank you for your time.
Correction on date...I was there on Monday, 5/28/18 at 5:00 p.m.
garlic bread x 3
On May 25, 2018 at approximately 1807 I purchased three garlic bread In the silver foil bags. I pick them up off of the shelves right in front of the checkstand. After arriving home and immediately opening them I noticed that not one but all three were contaminated with severe I pick them up off of the shelves right in front of the checkstand. After arriving home and immediately opening them I noticed that not one but all three were contaminated with severe mold mold. I am so happy that I noticed it before putting it in the oven at which point he probably would've burned off or blended in. If I would've eaten that there are severe health issues and symptoms that can follow. Needless to say it would have definitely been a trip to the emergency room. See pictures below which I will also be filing with the health department and the Better Business Bureau.
Is there anyway that you can assure me that your employees will take better care and check the quality of their bread before selling it. I look forward to a response as well as some type of compensation for the inconvenience this caused. Just so you no I went back out and got new garlic bread not from that van store but from Ralph's which is further. The bread was not moldy and it was delicious.
I do you like shopping at Vons since it's closer to my home yet I'm sure you understand that I do not want this type of incident happening again or jeopardizing the health of me or my family in the future. Until then I will drive the extra mile to the Ralph's unless I am convinced otherwise.
Sincerely A former loyal Vons shopper,

five dollar friday
To whom it may concern,
Good Afternoon my name is Maria Elena Grijalva, and I went today to my local Vons to buy my groceries and partake in $5 Friday. There were suppose to be $5 boquet of roses that were advertised on the weekly ad. When I went to go look for them, I didn't find any and approached a worker for help. She did not have a name tag, but was an African American woman that was pushing a cart of water bottles. She told me that I could not have a rain check for the roses and to come back tomorrow. However another worked passed by in which she proceeded to ask for the roses and said that she could give me a rain check. We were walking towards the flower section of the store and the African American worker walked faster to catch up to the other worker and told her to not give me the rain check. The other worker then turned around and told me that she will not have flowers available and I walked away. I understand if there are no flowers left, but in this situation there were. The African American woman for some reason did not want to help me. I am a very loyal customer to Vons and have been for many years. It will take some time to go back after this incident. I will not accept this in any way or form. I hope something is done about this soon. Workers should not have a bad attitude or be rude towards customers.
Thank You!
