freezer section
Hello, I️ usually have a great experience at Vons great products and Bakery department. However today I️ was truly disappointed and shocked at how terrible the frozen food department looked. There were cases of the frozen food section covered in frost! I️ couldn't believe that I️t was just like that and didn't look like it was even being addressed. My husband and I️ commented that I️t looked like there had been a blizzard! A women in the section said that I️t had been like that for weeks! I️ can only believe her but haven't been in that particular area for the past weeks, so I️m not sure. I️ went to pick up a lean cuisine and the product was soggy. I️ ended up getting ice cream in another area that didn't seem to be affected but got home and seen that I️t was covered with frost bite. I️m emailin in the hopes that this will get fixed quickly. I️ did notice that one of the doors seemed to have the rubber portion off and the door seemed broken. If you have any further questions for me you can reach me at- [protected]. Best, Catalina
new minimum wage not being paid
Currently Courtesy Clerks at Vons on 3118 Sepulveda start at $13.25 the current minimum wage. Courtesy clerks at 4030 Centinela wage is $11.00. These stores are less than 10 minutes away in LA County. There should not be such a discrepancy in pay. Courtesy clerks at the Centinela store should be paid back wages from July 18th when the minimum wage began, and wage should be increased to $13.25. I understand some areas do not have to comply, but you need to be fair and treat your employees right. Fair warning, I will be continuing to investigate this matter further and I will report my findings back to Vons and wherever necessary.
roses
Last year or so you started charging $12.99 for your roses and right about the same time the quality went down drastically. Thin stems, not many leaves and seldom do they full out a regular rose vase. You use to have a policy that if they died before 5 days you could return them. I bought some 4 days ago and was terribly disappointed when I opened them because once again they coldn't fill up the vase and there were not many leaves even after I had the floral manger help to pick them out. I just returned them as they were dying after 4 days even thought I cut the bottoms on an angle (I use to have over 40 rose bushes ) And kept the water fresh. I had receipt in hand and your new manager was sOOOO rude to me telling me no I could not return them that is no longer your policy. Then she accused me of not cutting the bottoms which was clearly a lie as on the way out I took a picture of one of my roses next to the ones in the store and it was obvious they have been cut. I AM VERY VERY MAD. I shop at that store almost daily and spend 100's a week as I cook and bake a lot and buy a lot of wine as I like to entertain. I also this week was told I couldn't return a bag of almond flour I realized I didn't need which I tried to return less than 24 hours after I bought it. And yes I had the receipt. I feel like I have a bullet on my head when I walk in the store why would I want to shop there anymore other than the fact I live right next door.
By the way the manager who was sooooo rude to me name is Blanca. This person has NO business being in a customer service business. I have never had anyone in a store treat me so rudely.

customer service
I am very disappointed in the management of the Vons on S. Hacienda in Hacienda Heights. I have never received such horrible service as I have today anywhere, I'm very upset and angry. The manager working a checkout lane/ register (which I did not receive his name) disrespected me and my family. The first being with his very slow pace in attending me, the line wait was about 15-20 min. When I finally had reached the conveyor belt and stacked my groceries, I was not welcomed or greeted, which was so rude. Aside from that he also did not inform me that the woman in front of me was waiting for her daughter and another cart FULL of groceries. Mind you she had already paid for the items in her cart. Neither of them felt the need to tell me this while I waited like an IDIOT THAT YOU PEOPLE MADE ME FEEL LIKE. Once her daughter came and made me step aside, not only did the woman push my groceries but your manager tossed my groceries and smashed them in the process. I was so mad I didn't want to get rowdy so I simply left. I am so disappointed in the poodle you choose to hire. This was so unacceptable and rude and makes me want never return. FYI I buy groceries every two weeks and feed a family of eight. The service was so horrendous. And there was no sense of common courtesy. When I choose to go back I would like to except and see that there is a change of manager and their management of customer service. Incident happened August 15, 2018 at 4:00 pm
the interior of the store construction
I am a long-time Vons customer I live in Big Bear Lake California I go to the Vons supermarket in Big Bear Lake California several times a week not only do I shop there but I also have my Bank inside the store .most recently I have gone in there while construction is going on inside the store and I have felt dizzy, my eyes have gotten red and swollen, my throat hurts and I have mentioned this to two Vons employees at two different times and I was told that there was no reason for my concern and I beg to differ at first when it happened I thought it was just me but when I went back 2 days later and it happened again and I was actually doing a large amount of shopping so I was in the store longer I am very concerned at this point as to why there is construction going on in the store while there are customers and employees in there there's apparently not proper ventilation they were cutting tile while I was shopping I witnessed myself courtesy clerks with swollen eyes complaining and no one listening and I'm a customer and I should not have to go into a grocery store and within 5 minutes of being in there feel dizzy my eyes start itching and now I'm home and feel nauseous.
cashier
I just left Vons and the cashier was incredibly slow and not very personable. He only said "do you have a Vons card?" I replied yes and typed in my number. Assuming it worked because he didn't say another word. He didn't tell me the total, he didn't say thank you. Gave me my receipt and of course the my number didn't work so I over paid for every item. Paying $10 extra than what I should've paid. I've never met a nice person in Vons. Done with ever going there again.
fiesta blend frozen vegetables/beans (signature variety)
August 11, 2018
The frozen Signature Fiesta Blend vegetable item seems to have disappeared from the shelves. It is a great item for a vegetarian like myself because of the added protein. I have checked several stores over the last couple of months with no luck. Is this a temporary issue or permanent? Other varieties are similar but not as good and more expensive. Please bring it back.

didn't let me use my lysol mf coupons today it’s pretty much frustrating not being able to purchase sale items for my personal use.
I visited my local vons super market this morning, trying to purchase lysol wipes, toilet cleaners, cleaning sprays. If all cashiers would take their time to get educated on how to use manufacture coupons I wouldn't have to go through this matter. The cashier said I was able to use 3 coupons per day only 3 of any coupons. How can that be possible, when I see other customers taking so many items that's just not aceptable. I had to go back home empty handed it's just not fair.

The level of embarrassment I felt going into your store after having surgery and utilizing the motorized cart was plenty in itself. But to be silently queued by two of your employees who were clearly judging my using it because they took it upon themselves to judge my condition, and to further be approached by Cory, and told that if someone who (verbatim) "Actually needs the cart, so you will have to get off of it if someone else comes in with a disability" is beyond my comprehension of embarrassment. I have been a Vons member since I was 17 years old, I am now 33 and have never, I repeat, never, have been so disrespected, and judged by anyone without any hesitation than I was today. Cory did not bother to ask how my day was, if I was okay, what my ailment was, it was specifically to judge my appearance as I was wearing (comfortable, just had surgery clothing, and a backwards cap) and make the assumption that I was (verbatim) "using the cart just for fun". So Cory, and whatever employee that she was making non-verbal judgements to, were two that I could see that prejudged me and embarrassed me for absolutely no reason. So when I finished my shopping, and proceeded to the cashier, Tammy, couldn't demonstrate more of a lack of customer service than the supervisor, Cory. No hello, no anything, I had to ask her what my total was as she literally tossed my groceries into bags without any form of care for the items that I struggled to gather. I have been in the Food and Beverage industry for 17 years, and I again, have never experienced or have caused anyone to experience this level of unabashed, blatant...prejudice. I shop at this Vons because it is less than a mile from my house. I am speechless at the treatment that I personally experienced and I honestly don't know what I would want the resolution to be. It was uncalled for and unnecessary, and I am frankly disappointed. I understand that there are people that use the carts without need, but I am not one of those people and to be so quickly judged, and embarrassed in a store of people without cause is uncalled for and frankly disgusting.
pharmacy
Today, Jihan was once again rude to me. This is not the first time. I worked as a front end manager and a bookkeeper in the courtesy desk of a supermarket when I was younger in New York. Over 16 years I was there. Today, as usual no greeting or smile from Jihan. I handed her a dollar for my .71 cent script. The dollar had a tear AFTER the green serial number. The green serial number was fully present in both spots of the dollar bill. I know for a fact from being a bookkeeper for many years that this dollar is legal tender. She right away was rude and defensive and said I cant take "it's ripped" I she raised her voice a bit so I raised my back and said it is fine I asked the bank and I used to be a bookkeeper. She said I will call a manager. She started mumbling under her breath in my presence as she rang me up as I gave different dollar. I clearly hear Jihan say " I wish you would just..." the second part she got lower in tone BUT it sounded like she said would just shut up or just drop dead. Then she yelled again. SHe could have waited until after I left to say these things to herself! I heard almost every word. I am sure she will deny it but I left the store practically in tears. The lady from the office came over and took the ripped dollar and gave me another dollar for it. I want to make a complaint against Jihan. She is never pleasant to deal with. The actual pharmacist is always nice to deal with. Then Jihan yelled at me that I am always rude? That is not true, she always has some issue or attitude with me. She needs to learn the rule that the customer is always right even if they are wrong but today I was actually correct about the dollar.
When I worked for Waldbaum's now Shoprite stores, if cashiers or pharmacy personnel did what Jihan did they would be written up. I do not know if supermarkets still do this but if a person had 2 or 3 write ups they had to have union meetings. I do not know if she will be written up but she has a horrible attitude and very bad customer service skills. I told my husband if he asks me to pick up a script again and I see Jihan is there I refuse to deal with her ever again. If she is not working I will gladly pick up his medications. Please contact me at [protected] or [protected]@gmail.com if you have further questions.
Thank you,
Tammy Shapiro
PS: Please forward this to whoever the store manager of this VONS is or the district manager. Thank you again
sandles
I purchased sandals at the Vons pavilions in Malibu and a few days later they broke and I was unable to return them to the Vons in Malibu because I lived 3 to 4 hours away from there so I went to my nearest Vons pavilions and spoke to an employee who spoke to the manager regarding this and they said they could not honor it because they did not order sandals to sell this summer
one of the employees hit on me
i was shopping in the store on rose ave in oxnard CA and one of your male employees named alijah hit on me and grabbed my butt. i thought he was nice at first and we exchanged numbers. but then things got out of hand. he found my instagram and liked a bunch of my pictures. i no longer feel safe shopping at this location and i hope the head of HR sees this.
customer service
Never in my years have I ever experienced such rude and hostile behavior towards me inside a grocery store. I dealt with a very angry male employee in your meat department at around 10:45-11am today. I was highly disappointed at the customer service your grocery store has shown today. I simply asked this man a question regarding the code to your restrooms. To which he did not make eye contact and kept walking. To put frankly, he did not even acknowledge me and kept walking. So I asked him again, to which he responded "didn't I just deal with you? Damn" in a very rude tone. First off, this was my first time in this particular store so I have never dealt with this individual. So I am not sure why he felt the need to say that, then he says in another rude tone "you don't need to yell in my ear" to which I responded and said "I didn't yell, I raised my voice because you ignored me" because again.. he ignored prior so I thought, maybe he didn't hear me. Then he says in another extremely rude tone "I'm taking you there now so calm down" I am not sure what kind of day he's having, but if your place of business prides yourself in customer service and quality. That was definitely not shown today and has ruined my experience and I will not be returning to your establishment. The amount of disrespect I encountered today was nothing I ever experienced before. Maybe you shouldn't let your employees come to work on a particular day if they don't feel the need to give another human the decency of respect. I am not someone who usually complains, but if this is how this individual treats everyone he encounters. I am highly concerned for your place of business. Not sure what this mans name is, but he's looks to be about in his late 30s and has tattoos all over his arms.
racial profiling
As a man of color every time I go to self check out I am accused of not scanning items and every time the employees are incorrect. I never even get an apology. I am a veteran that lives in an affluent community and have noticed this not only happening to me but anybody else of color, but have yet to see this happen to a caucasion. I will now record my shopping experience. I am appalled, I tried to believe I was imagining this but that is not the case. And to add insult to injury the employee that last accused me refused to give his name. I thus asked another employee " whom is that young man he was very helpful " he told me his name was Trevor.
bookkeeper
My check has been voided from a bookkeeper whom I feel has spitefully did it she was supposed to give me vacation for 5 days but instead voided a check I never use my vacation time I don't have any money and I am very upset store number 2027 in Whittier at the whittwood Town Center her name is Rebecca. So now what am I go oing to do with my bills and my car that i need to fix my car that I use to get me to work. Something always happens with my checks and I'm tired of it. Can someone call me back [protected]
Jeff here from the Corporate Offices. Please respond back with your phone # so I can give you a call and help resolve this issue. Thank you.
floral/roses
I bought what I thought was a dozen roses at the outrageous price of $17.99 ($19.47 including tax). When I got them home I planned on putting 3 roses (with other flowers) in 4 vases only to find out that there were only 11 roses. So I immediately realized I had been ripped off! I had to make do because I knew they did not have any more roses in the color I needed. These $18.00 roses have not even lasted a week. I bought them on 7/12/18 and they are already dead on 7/18/18. I used the "floral fresh" provided in each of my vases and cut the stems properly before inserting in the vases. I have read complaints on the "Nextdoor" website how many problems other people have had in our area with food that is out of code and now I can't buy flowers there! I would hope to get a refund!
cash in lottery tickets
Cash in lottery ticketsI was recently at Vons in Santa Clarita on bouquet Canyon Road and the manager dee Dee told me at 6 PM That I needed to wait till 630 to cash lottery ticket. I think it would be nice if you would post that on your lottery machine that if I buy a ticket and I win that you're not going to cash my ticket for another half an hour of me standing there waiting.. Her attitude was horrible and I don't think that me or anybody in my family will be shopping at Vons anytime soon.
only grocery store closes with less than 24 hour notice to customers
I drive to Vons in Mammoth Lakes, Ca to get dinner for the evening. To be greeted by a less then friendly employee. This Vons Employee is yelling across the parking lot Von's is closed. When we ask why, the employee responds, "Vons is closed." Finally she lets approaching customers know there's a schedule power outage. When I asked what am I going to do for dinner, she replies, "Take it up with the city."
I usually go a little later considering its the only grocery store supply 60, 000+ people for 45miles south and about 100miles north. In addition this is the highest grossing Vons in California. The lines are always horrible. Well above Vons standard of 2.5 customers per line. To avoid this a trip around 10pm is warranted.
After a back and forth with the employee. I realize it is only 9:52 pm, giving me 8 mins to find my supper. After a frantic walk through he store, I arrive to the check outline. One checkout line is doing a "WIC" order. These order generally take 5 mins minimum
to complete. Forced to stand in the only other line open, it's 4 customers long. Once I approach the register, the check out clerk informs me the sign has only bee up since this morning. Giving people a less then 24 hours notice.
I FIND THIS UNACCEPTABLE
customer service
I have had it with Vons! I have been a loyal customer for years but that is because we have limited choices. I have reached my breaking point. I dread grocery shopping now and shop at multiple stores so that when I go to Vons I just get the bare necessities. It doesn't matter which store I go to, the checkers have zero personality and complain about their jobs to customers. The employees who "bag" groceries complain about my "reusable bags"that I'm required to use and happy to use. BTW they were purchased on Amazon and every other grocery store compliments how awesome they are because they are so easy to use. I load the groceries onto the conveyor belt in an organized fashion to make it easy to put in my reuseable carriers. Today the groceries were unloaded and the clerk closed the lane and told me to move. Last week, half way throughout "bagging" my groceries the employee walked away and I was asked to do it myself. The lines are long and the experience is miserable. The reality is Vons knows they have zero competition and they just don't care about their customer. I will find an alternative so I don't have to endure such treatment in the future. Even if the products are inferior, more expensive, or causes an extra trip it will be worth it to avoid being treated as I don't matter in the world.
