store manager
On April 21, 2018 around 2 p.m I was leaving the Encinitas store and there were 2 employees outside arguing. One seemed to be a manager (he was a white middle aged man with a beard) and the way he was speaking to the other gentleman was very rude and demanding, just very uncalled for. If he is indeed a manager he definetly needs re-trained on how to speak with other employees about constructive criticism and how those conversations should be held in a private area, not outside in the parking lot. I'm sure it probably was already reported but I feel like I needed to share what I Witnessed as a customer.

there have been several occasions when I have been shopping at the Redondo Beach CA Vons, located on Inglewood Ave where I have witnessed management (white baldheaded man) verbally abusive towards employees at this store. I am very surprised that no one has sued this store for the hostile work environment or harassment. What I will do the next time I witness this informs the employee of their rights to a respectful work environment, I will also be calling corporate offices if this continues.
I fell at mason store

I fell at the Mason street store in Porter Ranch/Chatsworth store. The store manager said someone would contact me. Haven't heard from anyone. I want to know why the spill that was there wasn't cleaned up or I made aware. It's not right that your employees don't take spills seriosuly. The north Hills store would not allow this to happen. On Sunday April 15th into Monday April 16th I visited the Von's located on Midway Drive. I'm usually in this store about once a day if not more than that and have never had a problem. Until this day I started to realize that the night time security guard was following just me specifically around. At first I thought nothing of it being a young adult coming into a store carrying a big bag at night. But as he continued to follow me I was getting a very off-putting feeling from him. Not too long later I physically heard the security guard tell a friend of mine, loud and without care, that he didn't like me and targeted me BECAUSE I AM A HOMOSEXUAL. He said he thinks it's gross and he hates me.. needless to say as long as he is employed there from now on I will NEVER go back to this location if even any others.

Today, 4/15/18, I went to the Vons on Naomi in Arcadia Ca and in the deli section I found a pack of Farmer John saucage with a pull date on 4/12/18. On April 14 I went to the same store and found a Easy Off oven cleaner with a pull date of Feb 2, 2017 STILL on the shelf! I am going to call California weights and measures and report this store. This isn't the first time I have found items with expired dates still on the shelves. It is horrible that customers have to deal with this., it's bad enough that at this store the service is HORRIBLE with the exception of a few employees such as Roscio and a bagger by the name of Catlin but to have to check the expiration dates on everything I buy is a pain. This store used to be a top notch store but in the last 6 to 8 months everything has gone down hill. I now go out of my way to Ralphs most of the time because I've never found a expired item on the shelves there and the service is much better. I only go to this Vons, as it is less than a mile from my home when I don't have time to go to Ralphs. Oh and as someone who ran a service deli for Safeway/ Vons for 5 years I have one more complaint about one of the employees at the Arcadia service deli. Her name is Brenda and she is absolutely the rudest person I have ever dealt with at a service deli. She is rude, unprofessional, uses foul language where customers can and acts as if customers are bothering her by going to the service deli. I have tried to give this woman the benefit of doubt before mentioning her by name but after dealing with her on several occasion she needs to be at the very least talked to. The last time I went to the service deli she spent over 10 minutes complaining to the bakery employees about not getting her break and she was going to"go off" on someone BEFORE she helped me. That was the last time I went to the Arcadia service deli, I now go to Claro's in Arcadia for any deli needs I have, it's a bit of a longer drive to get there and the prices are higher but it is worth it. I don't have to hear a employee complain, Claro's employees are professional and give great service and I;m made feel like a valued customer, something that DOES NOT happen in the Arcadia Vons service deli! Bill Davila would roll over in his grave if he saw how badly the Arcadia Vons is ran.

I was at vons on pennsylvenia ave and foothill blvd, La Crescenta, CA around to order a cake. I was waiting for someone to help me for about 5minutes and no one came to the department.
I asked two staffs (one male Jeffrey?and one female) with balck shirt and employee badge for help. The female staff told me to ask to the male staff and the male staff told me she went to front to ask someone comes to help me (even though I told him that the female staff told me that he will help me. He totally ignored me while I talk to him and went inside, never came out).
I do not think this is right customer service.
found plastic in my food from the deli

I Went to your Vons Store # 2326 location 780 N. Brea Blvd Ca Brea 92621 and ordered a hot combo meal with a chicken breast drumstick and two sides of chicken Cesar salad. While I was eating my food I see that there is this large piece of what seems to be glove plastic in my salad. It is disgusting first of all and a chocking hazard has I actually not noticed and ate it. I am complaining for your staff not taking careful precaution in preparing your food item. This little mistake could have easily become a big mistake had I missed the plastic.
Refunding my order seems is the least you could do but i would like a small compensation because all those germs and bacteria already in the salad i ate i cant spit back out. I am grossed out and cannot express how unsatisfied i am with my vons visit.

I usually have a normal pleasant experience shopping at Vons.
Today was incredibly bad. First, the bagger (nametag said Ali) who was a female around the 20-24 years of age, skipped back and forth having conversations instead of bagging my groceries. When she finally got around to doing so, she bagged the eggs on the bottom with soda on top? Meanwhile, the checker forgot to take my $5 coupon while shoving my groceries forward, crushing my produce. It was horrible. I am taking a break from Vons and Alberstsons, in my disbelief at such unprofessional behavior.

This is the worst grocery store I've ever been to in Los Angeles hands down one time I walked in here in the manager was yelling at some homeless person managers don't care about this place the people who work there barely care about this place it's sad. Someone from corporate really needs to step it up. Glad I didnt trip and hurt myself. Sad to say this is the nearest grocery store to my house. I go here if I absolutely have to but I try to avoid it at all costs. It smells wretched (wet socks and cigarettes) No self check out, few lanes open Under staffed and not the friendliest or quckest Overall an unpleasant experience.

I just had the worst experience one could have at store # 2858 address 2355 E Colorado Blvd in Pasadena CA. At 9 p. m I finished moving my things from my storage and decided to come to Vons to grab a bite to eat and decompress from the days hectic move.. I made my purchase at 922 p. m and decided that I wanted to sit in the patio that they provided for the customers to eat. Now I know that there is a homeless problem that tends to sometimes lounge for a bit long and must be told that if they are not going to shop they should not sit all day on the patio... That was not my case.. I simply sat and ate the meal I had just purchased from them and was in 2 bites when Maria came completely rude and demanded that I left right away because customers were complaining about people sitting in the dark... She completely misjudged what she saw and felt the right to be totally rude and short with me... Now I'm not homeless thank God however I don't care if I was.. nodoby has the right to treat anybody with disregard because of their living situation... She lied and didn't take the time to see that I had just sat down at the designated patio VONS provides it's customers to eat... I usually am not one to complain but the way this lady was left me floored at how she can have a job that deals with the public... Now I know and understand that I am just one person... But Vons can't possibly stand behind this kind of behavior... Vons provides great food and the convenience of a patio to eat said food bringing more customers because of the all around convienece... Vons if u value your customer service and go through extra mile for your customers please make sure that the people you assign to represent your store aren't ignorant and prejudice. This woman did not know me.. had never seen me before and didn't take the time to see that I had a Vons bad a receipt and I was eating their food on their patio... I got kicked out of the patio because of my bags.. this woman treated me poorly and kicked me out b cause she thought I was homeless?.. I don't care if I have a mansion or a hut nobody has the right to treat anybody any different because of how they may appear... I would like a follow up because something needs to be done about this. I feel cheated.. insulted... And judged... For what?.. having my bags?.. so what I had just purchased food... I was eating in their designtated area.. she had no right to be soblantabtly rude and not even aknowledge me when I showed her that infact I was a paying customer!.. I'm mortified and something needs to be done about this rude manager

I went to Vons in long beach off ximeno and received horrible customer service. I went there to purchase bake chicken for my children. I purchased a 8pc and the lady serving me name Amy put my bake chicken in a paper bag. I told the lady that I didn't want my chicken in a paper bag and asked if she had a container. She told me no and behind her where serveral Plastic container that the whole chickens go in. As I was talking to her she tells me no she can't and walks off to clean a tray. Another worker seen that she was being rude and gave me a container. I paid for my chicken and notified a manger. Once I got into my car I realized o couldn't even feed this chicken to my children because my food was put in a paper bag that I don't even no where it came from. This service was really acceptable and no one should be treated this way.

Vons in bishop has a shift manager who is very rude and hostil. I get to vons every morning at 5 am. When the store is suppose to be open. If Lisa is working she does not open the doors and then complains of someone does let me in. I have to drive and hour and a half to work and done need to be late because Lisa doesn't do her job. Can someone please get back to me on a resolution. I will be hitting every channel I can to get this resolved. I can't talk to the store manager because they never do anything about any of the issues this store has.

Yesterday I went into your Vons 453 Santa Fe Dr., Encinitas, CA 92024. There was no one in the floral dept so I went and asked the produce guy if I could get some help in floral he told me she's off today. I said could you help me the flowers had the 7th on them and they look terrible he said that's all we have. I asked him if he could go check he said well there's nothing. He said do you want me to get a manager. I said never mind. The lack of customer service was unbelievable. He didn't want to bothered obviously. He had dark hair about 40ish. I ended up going to the front to get help and the bagger got me fresh flowers.

04/08/18 16:12 hrs. I told Vons store #2335 manager Manuel Perez to get a non service dog out of the store. The manager asked another employee to remove the dog but she did nothing. Then another employee held the leash and walked the dog out next to the owner while she drove her cart to the parking lot. This was not a service dog and totally disgusting. I love dogs but I don't bring them to the supermarket. I won't be back here. Useless manager did nothing.

I was treated rudely by the clerk at Vons. She never greeted me and acted unfriendly toward me and at the end of the transaction I told her she seemed unfriendly. She belligerently tried to confront me at which point I ignored her and walked away to de escalate the scene she was making.
I went over to a chair and sat down to review my receipt and while I was sitting there a manager detained and confronted me and asked me if there was a problem. I told her the clerk acted unfriendly toward me and I had told her that.
The manager then harassed and bullied me by telling me several times that she had witnesses who offered to give her their names and phone numbers who had heard me make racial slurs against the clerk. I was appalled and taken aback and told her the ONLY remark I made was that she seemed unfriendly.
Later during the conversation she told me what the witnesses said I had said and I told her I had never made or considered making those remarks in my life and that someone was lying. I can't even recall what the remarks she quoted them as saying were because they are not even in my vocabulary.
I am 76 years old and feel this is potentially a case of ageism, as I have felt discriminated against at this Vons store before. The clerk felt she could bully me and the Manager felt she had that right, as well.
Never once did the manager ask me to describe the clerk's behavior or have any interest into finding out why I had made the "unfriendly" statement to her. She was just accusatory and threatening toward me.
rain checks
About a month ago, my grandma received a rain check from the Glendale location on Los Feliz Rd. for Powerade, which was on sale for $0.49 at the time. She tried to use it at the Arcadia location on 2/16/18 and the manager there informed us that it is against policy to allow my grandma to purchase 21 Powerades even though it was written on the rain check and signed by a manager. I believe her name was Letty and she allowed us to get at least 10. She wrote instructions for whomever checked us out and signed it. We proceeded to the registers to check out and the cashier, Rey, did not believe anything we said even though we gave the manager's name and showed that she signed the back of our rain check. He was extremely rude and continued to give my grandma attitude and tried to blame us for the rain check, which happened to be a copy (because the Glendale store had apparently run out of rain checks at the time). At that moment I stepped in because customer service skills were lacking in that he was raising his voice at my grandma. I instructed him to simply charge us regular price so that we can just leave. I now go to the Pasadena location on Colorado because their customer service is pleasantly better. I have attached a picture of the rain check attained by the Glendale location.

On Sunday April 1, 2018, I visited the Vons located at 311 West Los Feliz Rd in Glendale, CA. I was purchasing some flowers for my beloved parents who are deceased and buried at Forest Lawn. This very rude employee approached me saying that I was stealing the flowers I was holding. I said no and she kept following me through out the entire store. Her name is Angela she is black and works in the floral department. I even heard her say " stupid mexicans" and was staking me through out the store like if I was a criminal. When my husband was in line again, she approached us saying that we were going to steal the flowers. This employee actions were very poor, unprofessional and rude. I believe she is racist. This grocery store is great except for the rude employee working at this location. she gave horrible customer service.

I live across the residential street on the back of store (Starbuck St ) my complaint is the equipment on the roof has always had a disturbing blowing growl and we live with that over the last 5 days a piece of equipment comes on every 4 to 5 min and whines for 2 min all day and nite when I try to relax in the evening this is very annoying my wife won't open the kitchen window because of this I've gone across to the building and it's not nearly as loud from my backyard I can see the equipment I'm a contractor and I believe there is a city ordinance protecting me from these sounds ie sound deadening façade. I would appreciate action to this matter

On 03/16/2018, I received a grocery order which was placed the previous day. As soon as I began putting things away it became obvious that the frozen foods ordered were not there. I attempted to call the number given by Vons on the Order Information sheet but only got a recording. I tried several more times with the same result. Then, I wrote a letter to Vons Customer Service, pointed to their manager, which included a copy of the paperwork accompanying the delivery and my postal and email addresses. In it I said that if this matter was not addressed within a week I would take to social media with complaints. This irresponsible behavior is unacceptable from a major supermarket. Without even the slightest effort to even refund my purchase this amounts to theft.

gas rewards
I went to a local Chevron to get some gas, it was my intention to use 20 cents off my reward to buy gas. However, it didn't provide that option and I had to use all my rewards. Since I have a vehicle that I can fill up with over 25 gallons it's quite a waste to have to use rewards on a vehicle that at Max uses 15 gallons. This is good if course for Vons since I don't utilize all the benefit of my rewards. I'm very unsatisfied and unhappy by my experience, one reason I shop at Vons is the rewards program. I shouldn't be forced to use all my rewards if I don't wish to.
