My life was in danger It all started with me going shopping at my regular vons store downtown Long Beach on Atlantic and Broadway what happened I had a personal check that was right in my name by friend I called the store to find out if it's OK for me to go in there and use that for groceries they said yes no problem I get there I asked the cashier before I had her ring up my stuff If it was OK to use that check and she said yes your problem she runs up my stuff I backed them up at them in the cart and then she gives me the change and the receipt she says after that that oh my god this is a third-party check we're not supposed to take a third-party check and I said I'm sorry that's why I showed it to you that's why I called before I came here and he said to me who did you talk to I said I don't know where the female she said there's no one here beside me and two other people and the manager is not here And it was closing time half an hour before midnight they close at midnight then she starts calling her manager on a cell phone speaker she's telling her what's going on and then embarrassing me in front of all the customers that she had a line all the satellite she has security guards come and surround me I said to her what's going on why are the security guards here she said I don't know I didn't call them I said OK but it seems kind of odd that they're right next to me I didn't do anything you're the one who processed the check beside the groceries are in the card and you gave me the change and receipt so I have every right to walk out of here with my groceries by change and my receipt so all the subtly the bag boy says to me that you are going to be stealing I said what respect yourself because you're a know what you're talking about and you should apologize and I told her to make him apologize and she said no I said OK I'll tell you what I will leave the groceries I will give you back your change and the receipt because I am not going to have this done to me and I'm a come back tomorrow morning to talk to you Manager about what just happened that all the Satterly this big black man tells me to get the F out of here but he's going to beat my [censor] find it to security guards now I got somebody that wants to beat my [censor] for no reason that he says to me walk out side I said who are you why are you talking to me like this he said this is my hood and then I'll kik ur [censor] I said do it do it right here because you don't want me to do it right here because are there I might just end it for you so I told her to call the police and security gards to call the police no one did So now they lock me out of the supermarket I'm outside by myself scared for my life well that man is out there I tried to unlock my bike and proceed to go home but yet I was so scared if this man is going to follow me and shoot me in the middle of the night I was on my bike so scared that somebody or any car next to me and shoot me this is not fair not right the way I was treated when I didn't do anything wrong then I call the police as soon as I got home . Terrible treatment of accusation of stealing a mentor in my life and no one seem to care .
unethical behavior
I live behind the Vons in Mira Mesa and every Tuesday and Friday I hear delivery trucks parking in the front making deliveries. There is a noise ordinance in this location. There are to be no deliveries until after 7:00 a.m. It seems like the store is cutting corners here and taking deliveries before that. I am a regular shopper here and would really prefer not to call the city to file a complaint.

It took 15 minutes for a counter associate to even notice that i was waiting for a sandwich absolutely unacceptable, why evdn bother have the service if there is no one in the staff thatis willing to even think about servicing it, i was late back to class because it so long for me to get my lunch this is absolutely ridiculous this i go to subway, at least i get lunch there

The candy was on the shelf and sold to me (customer) 5 months after Sell by date from store 2266 Pacific Palisades. I ate some before looking at package, I'm discusted. I sent a photo of receipt and product to distributor, manufacture. I want a full refund, and an apology from someone at Vons. I have never been so appalled at something so blatant. A lack of store detail needs to be addressed.

I was in line at the Vons in Oxnard CA on Ventura Rd @ 11:10am waiting to pay for my grocery's and the customer in front of me was having trouble cause her grocery's were not ringing up price it was marked and Steven the cashier was not able to fix it so he kindly asked his coworker cashier next to him for help and she didn't even bother helping him she just said do the damn math and figure it out and fix the problem. That such a rude thing to say to a fellow coworker especially having that attitude in front of customers. Steven the cashier was simply trying to do his job and he really didn't deserve that attitude. Me and the customer in front of me just looked at each other in shock that she said that. This needs to be addressed to that other cashier that was next to Steven because we can tell he was offended he just stayed quiet cause he didn't wanna cause a scene. smoking in outdoor patio area
I work in a nearby business of vons located in a family orieanted area on scripps Poway parkway in San Diego. The store has a permanent ashtray too close to businesses. We cannot keep doors open for fresh air because of the smoke. It also looks tacky that employees smoke in front area. This is a concern for public health for I have asthma and it should be removed or located further away from business doors.

Even though Vons is super close to me, I prefer to drive across town to Ralphs.
For several reasons. The store Never has everything I need. It is pretty run down and very dirty. The check out lanes are so gross. Years of caked in dirt. Today, was the last straw. The "frozen food" section has a completely broken door. The "fix" is cardboard taped and barely hanging from the door. The door won't close. So all the ice cream has been frozen and refrozen at least once. I went to the cheese section which is also where the milk etc. The guy that stocks the area always has a cart filled with big cardboard boxes that completely block a whole section. Even if he sees me trying to get something from behind the boxes - he never moves it out of the way. It's been there all the time. (I just remembered this, on Sunday, one of his co-workers was talking to him. He must have said the "f" word at least 6 times. The store is always super busy. The produce section is beautiful. I would like to be reimbursed for at least the Ice cream I bought today.

A trip to Vons the other morning turned into an experience causing me to choose to not step into the store again. One of the first arrivals Thursday morning I was greeted by employees which were totally rude. Upon giving a hearty good morning to more than one employee as I passed by was returned with grunts and treated like trash putting up their nose as if the greeting was offensive. Upon arriving at the checkout I mentioned to the clerk how I felt there was a lack of respect for the customer and that I felt as if I was no more than a number. As I handed her my money the clerk snapped back that I was no more than a number and that I have no business in complaining. If not for the need of the items I had picked out I would have left leaving them on the counter. I hope someone in management reads this and will work to make a visit to their store a pleasant experience. rude cashier
I, a former vons employee for a pretty long time, know exactly what our duties are as far as the treatment of our customers. Customer service is very important! I've experienced on numerous occasions a horrible customer service experience from this specific cashier at the vons in ojai, ca store # 2430. This cashiers name is john he is a young man (maybe 25-30) that should be well aware how to treat people by now. He literally treats me, my family, and friends with absolute disrespect every time we go in there! It is getting old and something needs to be done with this young man. His attitude towards us tonight was the final straw, he acts like he is better than the people he is helping, he acts like we, the paying customers who help him earn a living each week, he acts like we are worthless. My husband had no idea who this kid was and how horrible his attitude was, without any prompting, my husband walked away from johns checkstand tonight and said "what is wrong with that kid, he is a jerk!" he is snooty, acts like he is better than us all, which makes us feel horrible after leaving his checkstand. He should be welcoming, making us feel comfortable, warm, and inviting. He makes people who use food stamps feel like the scum of the earth. I hope something gets done, his attitude is horrendous.
parmesan garlic bread
I purchased the Parmesan Garlic bread that is made in the vons bakery department. When I was about to serve it I noticed something weird. They used cheddar cheese instead of parmesan. It wouldn't have been a big deal if they at least changed the label so I would know what I'm paying for. We still ate it since I didn't want to delay dinner any longer. The bread just did not taste as good. Will probably not buy that product at that location again.

We have been shopping at the Von's store in Grover Beach, California, for as long as it has been there. The service has really gone down hill in the last year or so.
This Friday morning, March 9, 2018, was typical.
The store was not extremely busy about 10 a.m. when we were checking out.
However, by the time we got into line, there were 15 shoppers (I counted them.) in two lines before the store management opened a third line.
When we finally got to the checker, I had to start filling our grocery bags because there weren't three baggers for the three lines.
As I am sure you know, trying to save money by reducing customer service is pennywise and pound foolish.
rotisserie chicken oven
I was purchasing a rotisserie chicken when I noticed all the chicken was stacked up on top of one another. I thought nothing of it, but reached my hand into the oven to grab a chicken and was severely burned on my right hand. As a result, I was seen at the emergency room and suffered both 2nd and 3rd degree burns on my hand.
This incident occurred on 8/20/2017 and also includes one witness who tried to offer first aid at the scene of the incident.

We lost our keys at the Vons Yucaipa location We are trying to locate a lost key at the Vons located in Yucaipa CA. We called the store and after an hour of attempting we were finally slightly helped by a team member in the deli. We were on hold for a cumulative 45 minutes and hung up on 3 times by customer service. How can we receive assistance in locating or keys?

My two sons 17 and 15 were checking out at register two with the cashier by the name of Pete. A "manager" by the name of Tammy came to the register while they were checking out and when Pete asked my son would you like a bag she said, "yeah charge them because they just stole bags earlier." My son asked her if she was talking about them, while he had the items in his hand that he purchased just a few minutes before, and she said yeah and I have you on camera and I have your mothers card you used. My son said I have my receipt right here would you like to check it and she told him no. My son came and told me what happen so I went to the store to find out why. I went to the customer service desk and asked to speak to the manager and Tammy comes out. I asked her can I speak to the store manager Dale Okamoto whose name is on the receipt and she said she is the only manager there. So I asked her did she accuse my son of stealing bags and if so why. She said because they were asked out of here earlier with two bags of groceries. And I asked her Did she see them steal them and she said no she was at lunch. I asked her well when my son asked to show you his receipt why not look at it. Or better yet while you are standing at the register making a scene accusing him of stealing 2 bags why not check your cameras. She didn't say anything I asked when will another manger be here and again she ignored me. I told her God bless her because this is sad and left. When I walked out security was outside taking pictures of my car I asked her why and she said she is just doing what she was told.
I am very upset about this behavior and the character of the person that you guys have managing this store. VONS is a great store but it's people like this that puts a bad name on the store. I am still at awe of her behavior. My sons were humiliated and accused for something that was completely made up. I am praying that something is done about this not only for my sons but to prevent it from happening to another child.
not getting the complete order - did not receive bounty towels which I paid for

I placed my first order for grocery delivery through Vons, I received the order the next day without one item of Bounty Towels for $16.89,
I called immediately and as told they would re-deliver the next day between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
No delivery and no communication. I sent numerous emails listed below without any response. How do I get my $16.89 back:

Another day has gone by with no delivery or any communication. If I do not get my delivery by tomorrow Wednesday 2/28,
or any kind of communication, I will take next steps. What a horrible way to treat a paying customer!

We got the $5 meal deal on Friday. The chicken was cold and so we went to try to exchange it. The guy gave us a hard time and so we went to the store director and he said we could, so we went back and a lady named Jenessa helped us. She grabbed the bag from my mom with an attitude and threw it in the trash. My mom asked her if she can be more kind. She then told my mom that she's in a rush and needed to do other things. We ended up not getting the chicken and we left the store without getting any groceries. We are very disappointed with the way that lady did customer service.

On February 20, 2018, I visited a vons store in westlake village to buy some instant noodles using the price advertised in the newspaper. That day, the store ran out of noodles and I asked for a rain check. When the cashier wrote a limit of six, I was confused and brought it up to the manager, despite having the newspaper say no limit. The manager even ended up saying that I shouldn't have received a rain check in the first place! I've been shopping at other grocery stores including other vons stores for years now, and an incident like this has never happened to me before. I find this unfair to customers and that's why I complained today.

This Afternoon I was shopping at vons and I went into the produce section grabbing my groceries and as I was headed out I walked passed TJ a produce clerk there and he did not acknowledged me or anything. He was not friendly nor nice to me. He acted like a jerk and he has threatened to put a restraining order against me and tried to get be banned from the store. He also tried to put boundaries for where I could shop like he owned the store. I would like this matter fixed immediately. Thank you so much!

I was at the cashier, paying. A dog had walked in just after I did. I was at the produce which is just behind the cashiers. I watched the dog walk around. Employees just looked and didnt even respond, didnt call a manager or any kind of security. To me if they do not have any security, plain clothed or other wise, that in itself is a problem! I was paying now, maybe 5 min later, and this man walks up & grabbed the dog by the back of the neck & it howled. I can understand grabbing it to get a hold of it but not to the point where its frightened and howling uncontrollably. The man would not loosen its grip and the dog kept howling at the top of its lungs. Again not 1 employee even batted an eye. I asked the man what he was doing and he said he was trying to get the dog out that it had came in 5 times. 5 times and nothing has been done after the 1st time? Thats what animal control is for. You put an employee at the door till they arrive. Whoever was at the customer service desk yelled at me for using the f word at that man.. Really? Thats her concern out of the whole situation?! And by the way even tho that man grabbed the dog like that it was not aggressive in any way before, during or after towards him or anyone else.

Friday Feb 9 at 1:33 pm Alan called the pharmacy about a customer complaint in the store. I politely told him the pharmacist in charge had a flu shot and he told the patient to give him 10 min. Alan was sarcastic he said Ooookayyyy! I said it's ready for her so I hung up the phone. A second later he's irritated and said Don't you ever hang up on me! I didn't I had phones ringing off the hook. Our staff pharmacist was in the hospital he just dropped off his meds and waited in the car. Walter the floater was behind on filling. And we had an insurance auditor there as well. I told Alan the second time that he didn't know what was going on in the pharmacy i got it covered and my exact words were "stop tripping" he is exasperating, bossy, he's not sensitive to anything I tried to tell him. I told him we are behind, we got no regular staff and it's a little frustrating he said "So" that was unprofessional and rude! I said call Barbara Gee and she can tell you. He's like no. So I did slam the door and walked to my station. He banged on the door I told him to leave me alone. All I'm saying is he brought more stress to the situation than it needed to be. I had it under control. Alan has some power trip which is unnecessary. He never has his employees back in face he ridicules us. He talks to me like a child. Now I was asked to come to Vons from Paviions to get the pharmacy ship shape. Our scripts are up, the pharmacy is clean and we are the only store in the district with reduced inventory. I work hard I'm always on time. Only complaint that I have is rejecting narcotics for customers who are not compliant with the laws. I been with Vons 12 years and Alan claims I'm insubordinate and will be suspended. I am the strongest technician there and the store sales and customer complaints will arise if I'm not there. My vacation time customers tell me how happy they are to see me back and how smooth things were not when I am gone. I don't want an apology just respect! And if Alan is having a bad day he should not take it out on innocent people especially his employees!

vons should never treat a person that way, the security were very bias, and the cashier was very not trained and should have better judgment she was at wrong here and made things why wrong and because of the way she handled this satiation very poorly and to have your live under threat
that's were vons needs to pay for all that mistreatment .. hope you get this suffering resolved this is a big mastic on there part, and should not get away with it..
