balloons
Hello, my name is Juan Fernandez.
I was at your store in Orange CA last night after work around 11 pm. I went in to buy some flowers and balloons for my sister's B-day. I went up to one of your cashiers (Janet) to ask her for the balloons who is always very nice and polite. She asked a supervisor to help because she was the only cashier on the floor at the moment. As I waited for the supervisor to show up, Janet started pulling out the balloons for me. I was buying four balloons different colors, and got to inflate one for me which was a green one, a little after, customers were coming up to Janet's register, so I said go ahead and help them out, Ill wait for your co-worker. So I waited for the supervisor her name is Brandee, the first thing she tells me is " you need to get here earlier", I took it as she was joking so I thought no big deal. She sees the green balloon inflated and still went and inflated another green one, completely wasting the other one. I was choosing the color for the string and she makes another unnecessary comment and she says, "your killing me smalls" . She's blowing up another balloon, she over inflates it and blows it up and tosses it on the desk. By this point it was obvious she was having a rough night. Then she tells me, "oh we're running out of helium" goes on to inflate the next balloon and pops it again. She tries to inflate another one and tells me that was the last of the helium. And just stares at me. I told her, yes because you wasted it on the other balloons you popped. And she had the audacity to say "I didn't pop them" by this time I told her to just give me the other green one that she had wasted and was sitting in the ceiling. she tells me "and how do you suppose i'm going to get it?" it was at arm reach for me she didn't even try to get a stool or make any effort to bring it down. so I said I can reach it. brought it down and went on my way to pay for them.
I'm at this store at least twice a week. This was very poor customer service, especially coming from a "SUPERVISOR". I hope none of your other customers go through this.
Regards,
Juan Fernandez

vons deli chicken tenders
I bought prepackaged Vons Deli chicken tenders tonight, Thursday, February 8, 2018 around 9 pm. Normally I enjoy these very much, but tonight they had 2-3 times the amount of cayenne pepper that they normally have. It was like super spicy hot wings.
The outer layer of breading was not quite as crispy as usual, but was acceptable. The inner layer of breading close to the meat was mushy, like a layer of paste. This paste was stained a very rich and bright orange, and I presume this was due to the over abundance of cayenne pepper that was used. Needless to say, the chicken tenders were unappetizing and didn't taste good.
siberian husky in store
Vicious man in Vons in Thousand Oaks moorpark Vons 2/4/18 at approx 11 a.m. with Siberian husky. The dog had no vest on. The man was verbally aggressive and called me a stupid mean old lady and his dog was a therapy dog. This is a clear health violation. For the record I am really disabled and resent fake therapy dogs. This Vons is always having problems with strange creepy people.
numerous
This store is poorly managed and is going down hill. It is always poorly stocked in all depts. for instance: several weeks in a row now they have been out of frozen O'Brien's. A Sunday afternoon they didn't have bagged broccoli or green beans and very few bananas. The check out lines are long even tho they have a 3's a crowd policy.
That is just a start. I am now a Ralph's customer even though I have to drive a little further.
low and bad supply of fruits and vegetables
Low and bad supply of fruits and vegetables. It's not just the fruits and vegetables but the entire store is constantly out of stock on things. For example the juicing greens are lately never in stock or if they are they are old and already starting to wilt. No chocolate rice crispy‘s for a week and a half currently. It's just frustrating to shop there, because not only are the supplies low but the lines are long and not enough staff in the deli.
security harassment
The security accused my brother of shoplifting just because he's homeless. His name is Jared. And the manager allowed the security guard to Chase and threaten my brother with a basket and tried to hit him. This is the 10th time I have had problems with this market and I think this is rediculous. I can't go any higher than you guys. Please solve this problem before someone gets hurt.
store filth!
*the vons located in canoga park on topanga canyon and roscoe always has a filthy soup area. Please do something about this. It is disgusting. Also, there are often no spoons, or lids or something is always missing or there are only one or 2 soups available.
Once I had to go find someone because there wasn. T a knob on top of the soup lid and I could have burned my hand, which, I think you know what would. Ve happened next: I would have called my lawyer before calling for your manager! Please, before you all get the heck sued out of you, have a dedicated person over the soup area!
See photos attached. It always looks like this!
white mountain bulgarian yogurt
Almost every other grocery store carries this high quality product and it really is inconvenient that you do not carry it as you are my closest store. Can you PLEASE start carrying this product? White Mountain, Bulgarian yogurt. It's amazing and I would buy 3 at a time. It's soooo good. Please start supplying your stores(or at least the on Foothill, in Upland, CA) with this yogurt. PLEASE
meat department
I have shopped at Vons on Foothill in Glendora since opening in the early 80s. I have raved about it cut of meats and service as long. On Friday I called the meat department and asked to get some sirloin lifters cut about an inch thick and would pick them up on the way home from work. There was only a couple of pounds left and were held in the back for me. I called Saturday morning and asked if 6 lbs could be cut and was told they would be ready at 2. I got to the store and was told delivery was late and meat cutter had left already. Called Sunday morning and meat cutter said he would set aside, when I got to the store I was told by the traveling meat cutter he doesn't cut the sirloin in this fashion it takes 10 minutes to do 1 cap? Manager came over and told me that cut of sirloin was not on sale and would be 8.99 pound, it was ironic that the butcher had just told me that he cuts this piece of sirloin into stew meat for 6.99 pound. The sirloin is currently on sale for 4.88 pound, not a great deal, but I have buying this cut or having cut at sale price since 2009. This was an unusual event for customer service at this store and to make the situation worse was the manager and meat cutter we're in the back laughing at the situation while determining how to handle this when I asked to see the manager, this was prior to manager talking to me. My wife is a long time employee for Albertsons and I have always bought my meat at Von. This was humiliating to explain to your manager what has been a service in the meat department, and was not an issue till encountering your traveling meat cutter. I am fortunate that my wife has gotten a long awaited transfer to the Glendora Albertsons on Monday and will make it a point to share the new Vons policy of extremely poor customer service and beat em and cheat em philosophy with long time customers to as many friends as possible in the community.
dirty kitchen stuff and bad customer service
Terrible customer service.
Dirty kitchen.
I was going to order a food for lunch, the lady hand wash the dirty spoon with just water, and dry the spoon in her dirty apron, and in front of her Spanish manager. When I told him to cancel my order and why I don't want that food anymore she laugh. So disrespectful.
I saw some reviews and noticed lot other complainings from this store. I'm not the only one.

refund for san diego delivery
I went to the store in Rancho Bernardo here in San Diego, CA. My girl has been sick for days---and she went to the hospital this past weekend. I called in a delivery Friday, but we cancelled it and spoke to an agent. The agent said, we will take care of the refund and make sure the items will not be delivered. Well---the guy was very rude, and obnoxious who delivered the items when we specifically requested not to have them be delivered and barged into my girl's house. I was away at work at the time. That very same night (Saturday)- we got on the phone and talked to another agent about the issue and he said---just leave the groceries outside on the porch and someone will pick them up (Sunday-1/7/2018). No one came on that Sunday, so my girl and I went to the store to return the items and spoke to this girl named Megan at the Rancho Bernardo Store. She helped us return every item---with supossively a refund? I still have not seen a refund in my bank account and think that they were just trying to get my girl and I to leave. I will file a lawsuit if I have to for the fact the guy barged into my girls house like this...that was not cool at all. I want someone to contact me about this issue and want to make sure a get a full refund back in my account.
Were any of the items delivered perishable?
"express" check out
The Vons store on Centinela near Venice in WLA has been busy and understaffed. The workers at meat & grocery are very helpful. But the cashiers are always understaffed and end up with long lines.
No.1 checkout has the letter "EXPRESS" on it The customers in front of me had over 20 items. And they took OUR time doing small talks with the cashier. When I ask the black mail what was the meaning of 'EXPRESS". He replied:" I don't know." Then he said:"I know exactly what you mean. I can not "rush" other customers just like I can not rush you." That is BULL!
I found the "service manager" who explained it meant 15 items. She tried to "apologize". I told her that her job is to correct problems. Apologies are useless.
animals in shopping cart
My son and I were at Vons in Anaheim Hills and in the checkout line I saw a dog sitting in the shopping cart. This is completely unsafe and unsanitary. My son is allergic to dander and I immediately had to use his epi pen on him as he started to have an allergic reaction. Is this your policy? Are animals more important than humans? If nothing is done about this I will seek further action...
I have attached a picture for your records.
I expect to hear from someone in the very near future regarding this matter.
overcharging at the register
Im using Vons for more than 15 years. Recently in my local Vons management team was changed and they started to renovated store. It seems positive, but with new management team come another problem. They start ringing at the register the same item multiple time, or adding additional items, or exclude discounts from the item. When I was pointing this issue to the employee at the register he/she is usually answering that everything is correct and didnt want even to check it. I went to the customer service and they start arguing that everything is correct and only after I went to aisle and took a photo of the price and bring them back, they did me a "favor" and payed difference, but what was surprise for me that they didnt even scan my receipt or ring the item. She just calculated on the calculator and gave me a difference from the pocket. Even after calculations she still didnt give me back correct amount, but also may be I am missing something, but all transactions including price adjustment should go via register. This is happened not one time. Last four time I start checking my receipt, which I never did before and every time I was overcharged $5-$17 .
harassed by the sweeper
This morning Dec. 31, 2017 I entered Von's Market. 3900 E Ocean Blvd, Long Beach, CA [protected]. This morning the sweeper dud harrassed by following me around the store with his garbage can on wheels and his broom sweeping kit. This guy practically followed me around the store with his broom all the way to check out. It was very uncomfortable experience.
bakery employee
I went to pick up my sisters cake and when I was paying for it, I was having trouble with her credit card and the girl helping me was being very rude. She was getting irritated and impatient. I wanted to try the card a couple times because I knew there was money on it. But it only made her more mad. I also wanted to get some cupcakes and that just made her more mad. SheWas showing her frustration in many ways. She was very rude, I'm very unhappy with the customer service. Her name was CJ.
Can you give an example of some of the ways she was being rude?
carissa kuhnert
She was very inappropriate and touchy not to mention unprofessional. She needs to be fired ASAP I smelt the odor of alchahol and marijuana on her breath. She was of no help and cussed at me this problem needs to be resolved she has been acting like this the last six monthes and everything is effecting the productivity at the company please do something

lobster tail / false advertisement
A friend said Vons had a sale on 3oz Lobster tails for $5 a pound, so i told my family i would feed them all by buying a couple pounds for the holidays. Only to find out the sign that was at the butcher counter was wrong. The butcher nor manager would honor the sign. I have also in the past purchased already expired rice boxes and cereal. I am very disatisfied and from the looks of it so are several other people online. Nick
service
I stop in my local Vons on 2nd Street in El Cajon, CA several days a week on my way home from work. Last week I was in line when I realized I had forgotten my wallet at work. I had my check book with me and explained that I had left my wallet at work so I needed to write a check. The girl said she would have to get it approved because I didn't have my ID. Needless to say the other cashier would not approve my check for $18 dollars. $18.00 that was it! Not $118.00 I was humiliated and very upset that my neighborhood Vons that I have been shopping at for years was so quick to loose my business over $18.
prime rib roast
We purchased an 8 lbs Prime Rib for Christmas dinner from the Garden Grove, CA.
It looked fine from the outside but it was full if lumps of fat and grizzle.
We took pictures as it was the worst piece of meat and not enough edible portions for the family.
The roast was on sale but still just under $45.00.
We would like a credit.
Very disappointed.
