Purchased a $50 Target gift card that was not activated by the clerk. Store will not activate card or issue refund.
On 07/02/23 at 2:05 p.m. I purchased a $50 Target gift card at the Burnsville, MN Walgreens store #11419. When paying for the gift card with my Citi Credit Card, the clerk tried to ring up the sale, but told me She could not use the credit card to pay for a gift card. I gave her $50 cash to pay for the gift card. Later I checked my Citicard balance and saw that I had been charged $50 for a Target gift card. I went back to store and asked to talk to the manager. A clerk told me he was busy and could not talk to me. I told the clerk about the transaction and she talked to manager. Clerk asked me to leave receipt and the manager would review the transactions. At that time I noticed the receipt said the gift card had not been activated. I went back to store later in the day and Adam returned my $50 cash and said he would issue $50 credit later for the gift card. I never received the $50 credit from Walgreens for the unactivated gift card. I
I disputed the charge with Citicard and they issued Conditional $50 credit to my account. Citycard contacted Walgreens and we’re told that there is a sign in the store stating that gift card sales are final and no refunds will be issued. Citicard canceled the $50 credit. On 08/01/23 I went back to Walgreens and asked the same clerk to see manager. She said Adam was not there, but the manager who was there told her to tell me gift card sales were final and she would not refund or activate card. I contacted Target and they said the card has not been activated and they could not activate it for me.
Desired outcome: I would like a $50 credit or at least the Target gift card activated by Walgreens.
Pharmacy providing medicine with ingredients my daughter is allergic to.
My daughter is on a very strict keto-genic diet for seizure control. She takes a medicine called "Effer-K" for other issues. We have always had the unflavored Effer-K because she obviously cannot have sugar as part of her keto-genic diet. Sugars are listed as an allergy in her charts and at the pharmacy. When we recently got a refill from Walgreens of the Effer-K, they have us flavored Effer-K. We didn't need the refill for a couple of weeks after I picked it up so I didn't notice until I opened the box. When I saw that it was flavored, I called the pharmacy. The first person I talked to apologized and said they would give me the unflavored. The next person I talked to said that they would not correct the problem because they didn't even have the allergy listed in their records (we've been getting medication there for more than 4 years) and I should have figured out the problem when I picked up the medicine.
It borders on negligence to give a patient medicine that they are allergic to. The fact that they did this, and accepted zero responsibility, gives me a lot of concern as to their diligence in filling prescriptions.
Desired outcome: I would like them to fix their procedures to ensure that patients, like my daughter, do not get medicine that they are allergic to.

The Walgreens at Plank road Fredericksburg Va 22407 keeps refilling prescriptions early and not giving the total amount.
They say Reason is to get all prescriptions at the same time.
The partial refill is counted as a full refill.
This is not true it has been going on for over a year.
I have to go back to the Dr for refills.
Your policy is a bonus at years end for refills issued.
I was told not to be rude by your employee.
I left CVS for this reason when you opened this store
No good reason for this kind of treatment.

Difficulty in filling adhd medication
2) DOCTORS. 🚧Road Block🚧
A) you have to contact the doctor each month to request the prescription. Ideally your doctor can get it sent in a timely manner. Most doctors only send them at the end of each day. The doctor needs 2 days to send the prescription out. You also have to account for the weekend, ordering earlier depending on dates. (🚧But you have to be careful on the date when the pharmacy gets it🚧). Many doctor offices will only let the doctor who initially prescribe it, to prescribe it each month. If they are sick, on vacation, or at a conference, oh well, you have to wait for them to return. You are off your meds. If the pharmacy does not have the medication when they receive the prescription, hopefully they can order and get it in stock before you are off your meds. Or the patient has to find a pharmacy with it in stock, is the patient’s responsibility to find new pharmacy. When the patient finds the new pharmacy with it in stock, they have to contact the doctor to cancel the initial pharmacy and reorder to the new pharmacy. Hopefully, the doctor will be quick enough before that pharmacy runs out of stock. Doctors generally only do their prescriptions at the end of the day M - F. Anything happening near the weekend or holiday will generally have patients off their meds. Doctors do not place prescriptions on weekend. That pharmacy who had it Friday, no longer does. The patient has to call pharmacies again to find the medication in stock. Remember- ADHD means a person may have difficulty staying on task, sustaining focus, and staying organized. This is what the medication helps with. Extremely difficult off the meds.
3) PHARMACIES (WALGREENS) 🚧MAJOR ROADBLOCK🚧
Pharmacies used to keep medication in stock. There was competition from other pharmacies. If they didn’t have it, the patients will just go to the new pharmacies
a). When insurance companies started dictating which pharmacy their insured goes to, the pharmacies stopped being competitive for the consumer. They knew the consumer was trapped. The pharmacies began to go to just in time inventories. The prescriptions they now kept in stock had to be popular and cheap.
b) expensive or unpopular prescriptions have to be ordered. Adding 2 day time to receive the medication. 4 days if it is the weekend. This policy makes chances of going off meds very high
c) pharmacies have decided to cut staff to ridiculous levels. They do not have staff able to get the medication out in 15 minutes. The pharmacist has become a production line. They no longer have time to get to know patients or their history. If the pharmacy is too busy, your prescription will not be downloaded until late in the day or the following day. You lose days until they inform you if it is in stock, has to be ordered or out of stock. You can try to call but will have to hold for long time. Until downloaded the only information you will be given is they have received the prescription.
d). Once it is finally downloaded, you will get a notice that it is out of stock and more has been ordered. You will not be told when the shipment is expected. Chances of running out of medication is high. You can call and be on hold for a hour. Remember staffing has been cut and there is no one to answer the phone. I have watched a pharmacy let the phone ring for an hour and nobody answered the phone.
e) once downloaded you can receive notification they are out of stock. I had the prescription sent at 9am on Thursday. They did not download the prescription and let me know they were out of stock until 4:00 pm on Friday. Will be out of meds because of weekend.
f) Walgreens is not allowed to transfer Schedule II medication. They also place a burden on their customers to call individual pharmacies to see who has it in stock. They should have a system to tell you what stores do have it on file.
f). There is a strict limit on how long an ADHD prescription may be on file. The earliest the new prescription can be filled is 28 days. If the prescription gets to the pharmacy too early, you are told you have to wait until the 28 days. They then file it. The patient is then responsible for ordering it to be filled. There is a fine line of ordering close enough to the 28 days if it has to be ordered. Too early, it will be kicked out. Too late, you miss order window.
g). Any medication that is not covered by insurance will not be filled or ordered. You can not call and tell them ahead of time, you will pay cash. They are incapable of noticing you have been paying cash for it for 10 years. You have to wait until the prescription is downloaded- insurance restriction pops up, then you can call and tell them. You can not use the app or internet to acknowledge you understand it is not covered by insurance, and will be paying cash for it. There is not anywhere on the system that marks you pay cash for this medication. You have to wait and call, adding days for download, noticed, and told. Hopefully you can still make it in time to be ordered.
h). Any medication that is above $150ish will not be filled or ordered. Same as above. Just another holdup that can cause delays. You can also have them hold it for no insurance, then turn around and hold it for price.
i). The individual pharmacies do not decide what is ordered. Corporate does the order. You can not call individual corporate pharmacies and ask for it to be ordered. You will be sending prescription tomorrow, does not matter. They will not order it until the prescription is received. And you have to be careful the prescription hasn’t been ‘filed’. It has be a prescription with request to fill before it is ordered. It does not matter you have been getting the same medication for months.
Walgreens pharmacy’s priority is to serve the insurance industry, and cut costs. They no longer care if their practices causes a patient to be off their medication.
Every cog of the elaborate system to order ADHD medication has to operate optimally in order to receive your medication within 30 days. Far too many roadblocks policies have been implemented to prevent you from receiving your medication. The priority shouldn’t be to prevent abuse or save costs. The priority should be treatment of the patient. Walgreens has enacted policies to save money. Saving money has caused treatment to be withheld on a continuous basis. They should ashamed and figure out ways to provide treatment.
Desired outcome: Policy changed to allow patients to get medication in time
Refusal to accept return of medication
I went to pick up my wifes prescription at 9921 Okeechobe Blvd, Royal Palm Beach fl on July 13, 2023 when the tech retrieved it she said that I had one ready as well. She asked if I still took Eliquis and I said yes and paid for both prescriptions. When I got home and took the meds out of the bag mine was for
clopidigrel which I no longer take. I brought it back the nextt morning julu 14, 2023 at approximately 10AM. The young lady (the pharmacist) told me that Walgreens policy was that once the meds leave the pharmacy they can not be taken back. I explained that it was their error asking me if I still took eliquis and giving me clopidigrel. She still insisted that Walgreens policy prohibited meds from returned.

Desired outcome: Would like to return the medication and receive a refund.
Fired after being harassed in a toxic work environment

Date and time: 7/6/2023, 12:22 pm. My mate received a call from our local ( Cookeville, TN) Walgreens, saying she had a filled prescription that they were going to deliver. We have never had a prescription delivered, we always pick up at the store. The delivery person looked like a big doper and was very curious concerning my mate and our home. Also, the prescription was charged to my debit card without my approval. My mate's prescriptions were moved from Walgreens to Kroger in May 2023. So why was Walgreens filling a prescription for her in July? We contacted her doctor and he said he had not sent anything to Walgreens because he had changed everything to Kroger in May. Yet his name was on the bottle as the doctor that ordered this prescription. So, how did this happen? This could have resulted in a very dangerous situation because of too much medication being given to a patient.
Desired outcome: I want an explanation as to how this occurred.

Walgreens received my prescription on 7/3. I keep getting messages saying it's delayed. I called today and they said that they are not allowed to dispense this medication at this time. How is it possible that every Walgreens in Palm Beach County is on back order for them for a whole month? They gave me a date of 7/31 when they might be available. I have...

I shop Walgreens on senior day to get my senior discount. I went today and when I was checking out the cashier told me that they didn’t honor senior discount on a holiday. Since I was already checking out I went on on and paid. I didn’t see anything in the store that said senior discount was not honored on a holiday. I think this is a bad policy especially for seniors.

I use the Walgreens pharmacy in Columbus, Ohio at the corner of James Road & Livingston Avenue. I believe the address is 3015 E.
