We purchased a straight talk phone and card at Walmart. Took it outside and attempted to scratch the black off the pin number area to see the pin. The black came off but so did the pin numbers. Went back into Walmart and was informed very rudely at customer service that the cards are not refundable as stated on the packaging. Went home and called the...

I purchased a 50.00 Gift Card from Walmart back in August as a gift for my mother-in-law only to find out when she went to use it 2 weeks later that it only had 1.67 on it. We researched the purchases to discover that they had been made back in JUNE! So I was told by 15 seperate people that I would be receiving the money, after two times of FIGHTING with a rep that there was NO WAY I am filing a dispute claim since there was NO WAY we made the purchases. One customer service rep told me that for the hassle I would be credited 10.00, later to be told that the only way I can receive that 10 dollars is by purchasing ANOTHER walmart card. Once I received the refund check of 53.95 on October 18th. (Remember I purchased the card August 1st.) Then I called Walmart C. Service to verify that I would receive the 10+activiation, which I was guaranteed.. So I called the day before Thanksgiving 11-24-09 and was told I would get a phone call back from a supervisor that same day, and imagine that... Today, 12-9-09 I still had not received a phone call from a supervisor. So I called in and FAUGHT for my money. Except I was told I will not be allowed to get the activiation fee back. So Finally on 12-9-09 I was told that I would get my 10 dollars minus the activation fee back. I am extremely heated about Walmart and honestly try to tell everyone DO NOT PURCHASE THEIR GIFTCARDS or MONEYCARDS. Walmart is AWFUL at customer service.
horrible employees
So tired of Walmart always being out of stock on things. We were searching for a camcorder and found the one we wanted. We went up to the checkout to get someone to help us and was told to go back to the camera area and someone would be there soon. 15 min later we managed to flag someone from that department down who told us she didnt even work in that department (mind you i saw her in that department working..hmm) I got mad and started getting loud. All we wanted to know is if they had this particular camera in stock or did any come in? She looked dumbfounded till a co-manager of some sort just happened by and told her she could scan the item tag to see if they had any in stock. Low and behold they did but it was in a bin in the back and they didn't have a key to get into it. Isn't he the manager. I was like fine don't go work and get it out but can you tell me if any other stores have it in stock. My boyfriend wanted it tonight and really liked that one. She wrote everything down and went and checked. The Clay store had one. I told her to tell the girl to hold it we would be over. Even thanked her when none of them in that department were organized or even cared about the peoply buying hundreds of dollars of electronic equipment...
We drove to Clay and went to the back of the store where the Clerk Mindy pulled out the wrong damn camera. I told her no that wasn't the right one. She said she had confirmed it with the other girl who clearly was a damn ### to me now. I have to say the Clerk Mindy was very helpful and we actually bought a cheaper camera her store offered when she tried to help us telling us that she had tons of complaints from that store because they always seemed to be having problems.
What a bunch of crap...sending us on a wild goose chase after we had to practically drag someone to help us BUY something from the store.

I have to say that Walmart in Central Square needs improvement. I am tired of seeing this place that is suppose to be a super Walmart when it is a JOKE! I say let me in there to straighten up that place...it needs it.

walmart steals from employees
To Whom It May Concern:
I am a concern person that’s works for Wal-Mart. We work very hard every single day at very low pay and wait for our bonuses every quarter. I only received $7 bucks in my check only as a bonus. I come to find out I hear the store manager has been taking our bonuses and giving them to the schools here. Meanwhile, making sure he got his bonus, many persons and I did not give permission to do this. We also know he is the president of the PTA in which he gets paid for. In my mind that is embellishment of company funds that belong to the employees. I am seriously thinking of getting a lawyer for not only me but for all the employees of your Wal-Mart Store in Pahrump, Nevada. So to let you know I am sending this letter to all News Networks and News Papers. To show them how selfish someone can be to steal but do it right under your noses.
Now looking for a Lawyer!

My wife has worked for Wal-Mart for 9 years. The first few years her bonuses were between $500 and $1000. Then she received a new manager and her bonuses dropped to below $100. During that time we moved to Tennessee and her bonus she received was over $800. We moved back to our hometown and her bonuses dropped to below $100. The store in our hometown has a substantially higher sales volume than the one in Tennessee. Due to this and other evidence, I belive the stories I've been hearing about how the manager has been using the store bonus money to constantly remodel the store, instead of paying the bonuses. The manager was also severely understaffing the departments, especially the cashiers so she could increase her bonuses. She also decreased the full time employees’ hours to the min. and hired part-timers at a lower wage to increase her bonus potential. She has severely damaged the financial security of many of the families that depend on that income to survive. In reply to Scotty1998 they can redistribute the money to things other than paying the hard earned bonuses the employees deserve. The example I give is the difference between the caring manager in Tennessee and the selfish manager in Ohio.
I was gonna say, it would be impossible for any management to steal money out of any associate's check since the checks come directly from headquarters in Bentonville Arkansas. I think your information is slightly flawed. Walmart does not run like any Ma and Pa store where the money comes from a single person. Everything at Walmart is corporately run and your paycheck comes from corporate directly. Sorry to say.
embellishment= an ornament or decoration.
embezzlement= to appropriate fraudulently to one's own use, as money or property entrusted to one's care.
you should probably forget big words when you complain...
Actually meebabi, I work at the same store as Stacy. The store manager did not steal from her bonus, she willing signed up to give her bonus to the schools and changed her mind and wanted her money back after her husband lost his job and she had trouble making ends meet, she has four children to feed. She is a hard worker but she is threatening to spread these lies to the media if she does not get her money back(which she concented on donating. Infact there is a list of those who donated on the wall by the employee lunch room and I would not be surprised if she only donated her bonus to look like a good citizen then beg for her bonus back and still be on the list of those that donated. Also she bad mouths our store manager all the time. I don't know if he got his bonus or not, that is no one's business and I find it weird that stacy would know his business, however she has told me she would be posting this on online blogs, contacting newspapers ect until she gets her bonus(which she willingly donated) back. She is even using her children to making them look desperate to get her money back.
I wish you the best of luck, that is awful! I work in the retail industry as well and it is a job where a lot is expected of you for very little pay. Although I am not fortunate enough to receive any bonuses (I don't even get a discount!) I would most certainly be appalled if someone where to take part or all of my bonus away from me without my knowledge & consent!

My daughter went to Walmart, which boasts on their tv ad that they will match "any" ad of "any" store so you have one stop shopping, to purchase the WII fit, on sale at Meijer for 44. 99, this was on Thanksgiving day. She was promptly told that Walmart did not have ANY WII fits in stock and neither did ANY of the Walmart stores. How very convenient that none of the shelves were stocked with these items which beforehand were full of these items. Poo poo to Walmart's HELPING us out with our Christmas shopping - only when it is convenient for them.
Our family is seriously considering not shopping at Walmart any longer.

May seem like a dumb question but if Meijer had the product on sale, then why not just buy it at Meijer?

I was at the wal mart on Black Friday to try and purchase a laptop.I arrived at 330 knowing that the sale didn't start until 500a, I went to the area with the map and was told that the vouchers for the laptops were all gone. Since when did Walmart have this type of sale going on. I have been to Walmart on Black Friday several times, and this has never happened, when did they change there rules for Black Friday sales. I have shopped at walmart several times, this had made me very mad and dont know if I will continue to shop there. I know I am only 1 person but I am very upset with your new policy.. Pat Hanna

This was probably an earlybird sale, and first comes = first served. Hard to see where WM is at fault here. Wake up earlier next year, if you truly want to have a laptop that has last year's technology on it (all these BF sales are essentially outdated merchandise).
customer service and the difficulty of activation
The buyer tried to activate the card and all went well until she tried to use the debit/credit (Visa). While trying to put some money on the phone, it was rejected?
Then she proceeded to call customer service and the woman on the phone was terribly rude. The purchaser then demanded a supervisor and was shut down. The customer service representative himhawed around and said the mistake was a street address entry. The purchaser supposidly told her the street numbers and not the house address. Then the Rep. explained that the money will be refunded back on the card on Dec. 5th. Mind you, it was purchased on 11/24/09!
Well, forcing the issue, the purchaser demanded once again to see a superviser. This time she was shut down again but with a promise that her money would be refunded within 2 business days. Readers, these type of cards are a sham! Take my advice, steer clear of the too good to be true prepaid and reloadable debit/credit card(s). Consumers Beware!

walmart took my checks without my id. if they had not done this they would have known they were stolen.
I had several checks stolen. Wal-mart took them without ID. If they had ask for ID they would have known the checks were stolen. Now I have pressed charges, Opened a new account, and closed the old one.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
It may not be your check that was given to the cashier. They take the routing number and the account number and use a program called "Quicken" and within a few seconds on a printer with blank check stock, they can have their names on the check and you without a single dollar in your account.
As soon as you know your checks are stolen, close the account and make sure that all bills are paid in full before doing so. Then open another account. So when the run the check in the check reader, the check will bounce. (That is why the numbers on the bottom of the check look so funny).
I worked for Walmart and the only time they told us to ask for ID for anything is if the register asked for a birthdate. If there was no birthdate asked, we were to take anything, credit cards or checks and even sell alcohol and cigs. Its an awful place. That is why I am no longer there and will never go back.
site to store pick up
This Valley Steam store is the worst. The wait time to check out is at least 20 minutes. Today, I went to the service counter to uplift three small items which were ordered on-line. The associate was unbelievable rude. She was unpleasant and unprofessional. She was obviously annoyed that I opted to examine the items. She refused to bag the items because I had placed them into my cart and bluntly said “I would have bagged them, but you put them in the cart. Now you will put them in a bag."
Can you imagine these words from someone in a customer service position? Don't these people realize that customers are the reason they are employed and earning a salary? Instead, this associate saw me as an inconvenience.

refused to help disabled
I was shopping in Walmart in Cromwell, Ct about Nov. 11.
I am disabled, can not lift more then 10lbs due to multiple surgeries. I had managed to drag a 21lb bag and a 21lb container of litter across the shelf then let it drop into my carriage, (locating an employee takes 15 minutes or longer).
I went to the checkout, told the HEAD cashier I am diabled, can not lift these items and could she please find someone to help.
She said there's no one in the store to help me so I asked if I should just leave these items here and drive 10miles back on another day?
She said the "doorman" maybe able to help if I drive my car to the doors.
The "doorman" explained he had to "guard the doors" (I highly doubt terrorists were seeking out this specific store at that moment).
So, I slowly walked to my car shaking my head in amazement... see there was about 45 cars in the parking lot. I held my breathe, lifted the plastic container and let is drop into my car. I grabbed the bag, pulled it up to the top of the carriage and dropped it into my car.
Then the bag SPLIT open and FRESH STEP litter was everywhere. As I was driving away I thought... gee if only i had a camera to video all these cars sitting in the lot - then remembered I did! I cruised the lot and video taped all the cars parked, I also got a shot of several employees standing just inside the door watching me!
I've been to others stores where a manager or the store owner will help if no one is available - THAT'S CUSTOMER SERVICE and taking an issue like a disability with respect.
I WILL be contacting the store manager, district manager and headquarters.
I'm glad I found this site!

I have all the sympathy in the world for the disabled, but clearly your wal mart doesn't sell large, heavy items(ie. tv's, cribs, etc) because all of these things require someone to get them down for you and take them to your vehicle. Something is either wrong in the wal mart or wrong in your story. There was someone in the store to help you I almost wonder if you really asked... If you did ask and no one came to help then yes that is wrong. Perhaps, if you were aware that you were going to be purchasing items that you could not wrestle with, you could have asked a friend or family member that could handle them to accompany you on your shopping trip.
Yes, while they do have a Disability Policy that states that they are friendly to the community - it in reality is a marketing ploy. After being denied assistance from two of their stores to push my spouse in a manual wheelchair (as he is tetraplegic (paralysis stomach down & right arm) while I pushed our child in a cart as I simply can't do both simultaneously...I contacted corporate and a friend who is familiar with the ADA. They in turn contacted their ADA rep. While the law says there has to be reasonable accommodation...they don't have to assist based on liability.
I agree with your hurt and anger...but until disabilities are an accepted part of our culture...we can be refused assistance.
louis maybe there were some middle eastern men with turbans waiting outside the store ready to hijack walmart.
take video to tv or newspaper and watch that store management and employees sweat
pokemon cards
why do you have pokemon cards behind the counter and you have to ask to get them instead of having them with the baseball and hockey cards and other cards, that and Yughio cards and the same is with BeyBlade because sometimes you have to wait in line for them and you cant buy them without waiting for someone to help you and then they tell you not to open the package till you leave the store.

Haha Okay! :P
Yes this letter is written as one full sentence, with no proper sentence structure, however it is far better than some of the adults that make letters. More polite as well. No "You suck because I did not get what I want." He asked very nicely why they don't have pokemon cards on the shelves. He did not type all in caps. Though he did not start with a capital letter all the proper nouns have capital letters. There are a few errors but you can understand what he is trying to say. Some of the letters written by adults have many spelling and grammar mistakes that you need to read and reread them to understand what is being said. I had no trouble understanding what has been written.
Nonnie Mouse does it make you feel big calling a nine year old a "###". Irish is a troll as well, but even she has her limits. She would never go around demeaning a nine year old. I am not saying I am perfect, but you have your share of spelling/grammar mistakes as well. Ian is still learning what's your excuse. You supposedly are a RN.
OMG People what's going on? Ian; ### you is a phrase you don't wanna use very often, If you want people to respect you. In my opinion if someone tells you ### YOU, just say 'thank you'. If you reply with the same sentence, that means you care, and it hurt you, and you don't want people to know you care (if you care haha), insted, you want people to know you worth, and have many other things to think about. So as a basic advise, stay away from this people, and when you have no option and you have to face them, just demonstrate your high Educational Level, which I'm sure you have. To know what's good and what's bad is part of dialy living.
Take Care.
The older Zachary on this site is 16 Irish as well. There are two of them. His birthday is May 31.
He is nine, funny how a nine year old has better respect and understanding of the rules that Nonnie Mouse.
Anyways you know those Neopet plushies for KeyQuest. Neopets made a big mistake and put the keyquest codes(you will know what I am talking about if you play Neopets) in the plushies where it can be easily removed, we had that at our local WM, so now they have a sign saying the barcodes are at the sports desk due to people stealing them and getting free virtual items. You have to take the plushie there to buy it.
At my Wal-mart they put the cards behind counters because kids open them up and steal them. Some as young as six.

at a one day electronics sale. after standing in line for a laptop, a asst. manager came around to everyone in line, counting us and stopped at the woman behind me, saying that she was the last. when we got up to pay for ours the same asst. manager came back up to the same woman and started asking her a bunch of questions about how long she had been there, that she was going to sell the lap top to another customer that hadnt been in line at all.
i felt she was getting miss treated so i asked for a manager and pulled out cell phone to video tape the event. as soon as i pick up my cell phone and opened it, the asst. manager i was talking to started gettig very angry asking me if i had taped her and that she was calling the cops. she then following me out the store, called the cops, had me treated like trash in front of everyone and banned me from the store. but the woman did get her laptop, thank goodness for she is a elementry school teacher.
the asst. manager took all the attention off of her wrong doing and acted like i was a criminal, i asked the cops and store manager to review the store video tapes and if i had one, mine also to prove i hadnt done anything wrong, but the store manager nor local city cops wanted to hear my side or other witnesses around us. i do have contact info for the witnesses. also i never recorded anything just opened my cell phone and looked through it.
i spoke to the teacher later, she said she wouldnt have got the laptop if i hadnt done what i did, she thanked me and offered her support for what had happened. and said she would never go back there again! neither will I! made me feel degraded, embarressed, blood persusre shot thru the roof. i felt like i was haven a stroke, talked to me like i was nothing when i hadnt done anything wrong but take up for a school teacher. please what can be done?

poor customer service/false product
Today is November 6, 2009, the day after my son's birthday. I went in the Germantown, MD Walmart tonight to purchase a Playstation 3 game for my son’s birthday. I purchased what I thought to be a NBA 2K 10 game costing me $63.56. Once my son got in the car he took a picture of the case to email to his friends. Then he immediately opens the game and found a Magnavox CV-R CD in the case. I immediately made a u-turn on Father Hurley and went back to Wal-Mart. I went back to the electronics area and ask for a manager. John Naimi (electronics Asst. Manager) came to the register. I explained that I just left the store 5 minutes ago and that when my son open the game we found a boot leg cd in the case. His first response was since you opened it I can't replace it and that I need to call the manufacturer of the game. I ask for another manager and he stated he was it. He gave me his card and left the area. I went home and called the manufacturer and spoke to a representative for 2K games and he referred me back to the store. So I called back to the Wal-Mart and ask for the regional manager’s name and John gave me the name Tim Middleton. However he gave me an incorrect number. I feel that he was racially profiling me and giving the run a round. John Naimi offered to look at the security system to see if the game was sealed when I bought it. This made no sense seeing how I tried to hand him my receipt that showed that I was just in the store and I had my daughter retrieve the rapper from the car. I spend a lot of money in Wal-Mart for my family as well as my job as well as my husband, who obtains a Walmart credit card. Therefore I don't appreciate being treated like this. This was very upsetting to me and heart breaking to my son because I'm out of $63.00 and my son is out of a game he intended on playing tonight. However, he’s forced to wait until I can get this matter resolved. Walmart's moto is customer service which John Naimi clearly didn't even attempt to uphold this moto as well as act like he cared a little about my concerns. He didn't look at my receipt or the game I purchased from his department. I didn't go in asking for my money back I just wanted what was rightfully mine, the $63.00 game I attempted to purchase for my son.

cant cash my check
I have been to walmart plenty of times to cash my payroll check and this particular time i go to cash my check they tell me they can't cash it and give me a piece a paper with a toll free number to call to explain why. I call the toll free number and the response that they give me was garbage that i didn't understand stating they were trying to protect my identity from fraud and because of some pattern i didn't have to idea what they were saying, it is a payroll check from the state of illinois don't understand this explanation at all, things like this make you want to stop spending your hard earn money with walmart and i have a bank account but the bank was closed and i needed cash right then not the follow day what a big inconvenience for me and my family.

poor and irresponsible customer service
Monday November 2nd, 09 at about 6 pm. I drove into the tire, oil change department to get a battery changed on my car. I had my car engine on while the store personnel checked the availability of the battery. After a few minutes, I was told to pick up the car in 15 minutes. I came back 15 mins later and was not told till 10 min after that the store did not have the battery, and "We can't get your car to started". That was not the worst part. NO ONE in that department had any suggestion (RED FLAG- No thinking process). I asked one of the crews to call stores in the area to see who has it. I was told that one of the nearest stores is only one exit away (using freeway). The problem is I do not live in Murrieta, and I do not have friend or family who can come and help me. The store manager repeatedly asked me "Do you have friend or family who can pick the battery up for you?" after I said twice "No, I came from a different town" They all walked away from me. I, then, stopped them and said "Can you give me a direction to the nearest store that has the battery" The store manager said "It is only one exit from us on this freeway. You need to call someone to pick it up. How are you going to the store"They all looked at me and walked away. I walked out the store and told the crew I met that I will be back before 8pm because that is the closing hour. It was 6.55 pm at that time. I half run and half walked for 30 mins and finally got to Autozone in Murrieta. With mild out of breath and a little shaking, I asked the store clerk to please give me the battery as fast as you can because I had to get the battery to Walmart before 8 pm by foot. Chris, the other store worker said You walked from Walmart? I can give you a ride and change the battery for you The other store clerk immediately agreed. Both of them quickly got all the tools Chris needed to change the battery. Chris drove me in his personal car to Walmart and changed the battery for me. When we got to Walmart at about 7.40 pm, my car was moved and parked out of the store; none of the Walmart crews came to ask if I needed help changing the battery. They did not see Chris. The worst part of that night was I was approached by a guy to try to get me in his car while I was walking. I was so thankful that the guy gave up and drove away and was really appreciate on how Autozone trains their employees. I was stressed out and scared at the time and still cant really tell what level of and what kind of mentality Walmart employees (may be at that store) that night have.
