The Walmart MoneyCard is the biggest joke! The customer service people have no clue what they are doing! They even lie! I have shopped at walmart for a long time and never received such bad service as I did with the people on the phone to have the personalized card sent to me. I bought my first card, pay $3 plus put $20 on it. Did not know that I could not have them fedx to me because there was not enough $ on it, the customer service person did not tell me this just said I had to buy another one and do it again. So the next day I go back to walmart buy a 2nd card (remember I did not know I needed a larger amount of money on it) so I go on line try it again! Now I try and do it in just my daughters name but the message comes up that a parent needs to authorize it so I am again speaking with a customer service rep. This time he explained that it was already activated that it couldn't be fedx to me so what they want me to do is GO BACK TO WALMART A THIRD TIME BUY ANOTHER CARD PUT MORE MONEY ON IT AND CALL THEM DIRECT877-965-7848. SO I GO GET A THIRD CARD! I PUT 50 DOLLARS ON IT AND I COME HOME AND CALL THE NUMBER GIVEN TO ME! NOW THIS IS THE BIGGEST JOKE! I CALLED, ENDED UP WITH A REP AGAIN AND SHE GOES "IT WILL BE MAILED TO YOU IN 7 TO 10 BUSINESS DAYS" AT THAT POINT I STOPPED HER AND SAID "I NEED THIS ONE FEDX TO ME " SO SHE SENDS ME TO ANOTHER DEPT SO THEY CAN FEDX IT TO ME. WANT DO YOU THINK I GOT? SORRY BUT IT WAS ALREADY ACTIVATED AND WE CAN NOT FEDX IT TO YOU! I DID NOT DO IT! THE REP ON THE PHONE DID AND DIDN'T ASK IF I WANTED IT FEDX TO ME ! NOW A THIRD CARD CAN NOT BE FEDX TO ME!
I WAS NOT EVEN GIVEN THE OPTION AT ALL ON THE COMPUTER OR SPEAKING TO A REP TO HAVE IT FEDX! IT IS IN THE PAPERWORK WHEN YOU BUY THE FIRST CARD THAT IT WILL COST 20 DOLLARS TO HAVE IT FEDX!
THAT IT ALL I WANTED BUT THE REPS LIED! I FINALLY HAD ENOUGH TALKING TO THE REPS SO I ASKED TO SPEAK TO A SUPERVISOR WHO SAID THAT THE 3RD CARD WITH 50 DOLLARS WOULD BE FEDX D TO ME AND I WOULD GET IT FRIDAY TODAY IS SATURDAY !I DID NOT RECEIVE IT BECAUSE THE REPS LIED! I AM SO DISAPPOINTED IN THE WAY I WAS TREATED AND LIED TO! I WISH I NEVER HAVE TO SHOP AT WALMART AGAIN OR DEAL WITH THE REPS ON THE PHONE BECAUSE THEY ARE LIARS. IF AND WHEN I RECEIVE THESE STUPID CARDS I WILL TAKE ALL THE MONEY OFF THEM AND CUT THEM UP BECAUSE THIS WAS THE BIGGEST JOKE OF A BUSINESS I EVER HAD TO DEAL WITH. PERSONALLY I THINK WALMART SHOULD NOT SELL THEM UNTIL THEY TRAIN THEIR PEOPLE CORRECTLY TO DEAL WITH CUSTOMERS AND THE PROBLEMS THAT COME WITH THE CARD! PLUS THEY NEED TO TELL THE COMPUTER PROGRAMMERS TO GO OVER THE PROGRAM BECAUSE ITS NOT RIGHT! i NEVER BEEN SO MAD AT CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS IN MY LIFE! LIES LIES LIES IS ALL I GOT! I THINK WALMART CUSTOMER SERVICE SHOULD TAKE LESSONS FROM LL BEAN INC. BECAUSE THEY WOULD NEVER TREAT PEOPLE THE I WAS TREATED BY WALMART REPS!

I think they are a big rip off I had problems with them too. I got ripped off and had to wait for $745.00

WalMart money card is the WORST card I have ever seen…EVER. I bought $500 worth of cards for Christmas presents and they all have issues. DONT EVER BUY ONE! Go to Target and pay 95cents more for no hassle!

I purchased a Walmart Money Card for online shopping since I don't have a bank account. I needed a new pair of shoes and decided to put most of my cash on there as convenience. I tried using my card after activating it online at 5 different places and was declined, which turns out I can buy shoes online, but apparently I couldn't use my card at all my local shops. I find out that there is a security feature on it where I had to set the pin over the phone (annoying since I did this online), and now it worked, but that wasn't the end of the [censor]. I only had 5 dollars left on my card, and was planning to refill, but I find out I was charged a "monthly maintenance fee" and I've only had the card for 2 weeks.

If my story doesn't stop you from being another victim I hope these other first hand accounts will help persuade you from doing business with GE Money Bank or Wal-Mart again.

I bought my first walmart money card tonight because i wanted to make a transaction on line and did not want to use my debit card. I put $80 on it at the store brought it home and called number to activate. The costumer service was the worst i have ever seen in my life. These people are evil liars. I did not know when I bought the card I was going to be charged $3.00 every month I just wanted to use it 1 time and I am not going to put anymore money on this crappy card. I tried using it on line after it was supposed to be activated and It was declined. I have to pay them every month to use my own money that I can't use because it was declined at this place that I bought it for. I called them back cause i was pissed and I got nothing but a recording cause they are closed. I will be calling them back tomorrow and I am going to demand my money back and tell them where they can stick this [censor] Wal mart mart money card. If you are reading this Don't buy 1 of these cards you will be sorry . I promise

I purchased a Walmart/Greendot/GE/Mastercard money card and did not have any problems with my card until now. To summarize my story; my existing Walmart/Greendot/GE Mastercard was compromised with fraudulent charges by a company named "Vodafone ECommerce." There were 5 charges totaling $485.54. These false charges were made between August 10th and August 12th 2013. The company "Vodafone ECommerce" is in Qatar! Come on now...that's the first clue that this is a total scam! I'm in the US! However, Walmart/Greendot/GE/Mastercard took me through so many changes and I still don't have my money! When I first reported the fraudulent charges, I was informed that I needed to fill out a dispute form and fax it back to them (which I did). They (Walmart Money Card) deactivated my existing debit Mastercard and quickly mailed me a replacement debit Mastercard. Thereafter, I decided to call to check on the status of my situation and it was then that I found out there was an extra debit card in my name. I called Walmart Money Card to find out if they sent me 2 replacement cards only to find that the extra card was a card that had been opened in my name in April of 2012 and it was a Visa debit card. WTH?! How was someone able to open up a Walmart Visa card in my name? I still don't know to this day. So now this made my situation much worse, because it became identity theft. Now that leaves me with 2 different cases and 2 different case numbers. Wow...thanks for the added stress and heartache! The next couple of business days, I called Walmart Money Card to find out what the status was on my account and it was then that I was told I needed to fill out an affidavit and provide proof of address, proof of identity, as well as proof of my Mastercard money cards (existing compromised card and replacement card) and I did just that. Now keep in mind that I had to ensure that I got them the information they needed within 10 business days, so I could have the funds provisionally placed in my account, if Walmart Money Card was not able to resolve my claim within those e10 business days. Well, yesterday (9/19/2013) was the 10th business day and Walmart has miraculously resolved my claim (close to the end of the business day mind you.) Sounds like great news right? HECK NO! Remember the Visa debit card I mentioned earlier? Well, that really put a damper on everything, because it's identity theft and now there's a permanent block on all my existing cards (the temporary card from when I first opened the debit card, the personalized debit card that is now compromised and the replacement debit card for the compromised card), which in a nutshell means that I still don't have access to my funds, although the identity theft issue was completed and closed and the fraudulent charges issue has been resolved. The last person I spoke with told me that there was nothing she could do with regards to the block on my debit card and that I needed to wait for their processing department to contact me to help me get the block off of my card. WHAT?!?! My money has been placed on my replacement card, but since there's a block on my replacement card...I STILL DON'T HAVE ACCESS TO MY MONEY?! I'm so done with Walmart Money Card! Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time, or energy on a Walmart Money Card! They will hold on to your money for as long as they can.

I will never use Walmart money card again. I had fraudulent charges placed on my card and complained, They cancelled the fraudulent transaction and issued a new card. The new card has a block on it and they said I had to take a photo of my ID and submit it to remove the block. I took photo's of my ID and it said I needed to try again. I took more photos and retook photo's under every lighting condition possible and submitted and resubmitted the photos. Website still would not accept my ID pics. I guess they just screwed me out of the remaining money on my card. You can't get a real person on the phone who can help you in any way with the problem. I am just screwed. I will never use Walmart cards again!

It sucks, don't use it. service is all asian, no offense, but I don't understand. I gave up and let walmart have my 45 dollars. tired of trying. I hope you enjoy paying asian next to nothing for your [censored]ty service. [censored] you walmalt
