Walmart mispriced hair products

I stopped in the Smart Style salon at the Walmart in Oak Ridge, TN to buy Redken shampoo & conditioner. Both the shampoo & conditioner had sticker prices for an amount on the bottom of the bottle. When the cashier rung them up, they both came up with a much higher price. I questioned it and was told that they had gone up in price, but was not marked. I insisted that I should get them for the price as marked, but was refused. I then demanded she cancel payment. I also had to insist on getting my receipt to show that the amount had been credited back to my debit card. I realize that posted this here may not help very much as Walmart nor the Smart Style salon cares. They make so much money that one customer such as myself does not "stop their show." It just pisses me off that they can get away with this!

I work for Smart Style, and they have pricing guides that come in every month, and the manager has to change the prices. If for some reason she misses something, I ALWAYS charge them the price that is marked on the bottle, and so does everyone else in my salon.

You just got a rude stylist.

Walmart Money card from nightmare.

This pre-paid money card is a joke! You can't send them an email, you can't even talk to Customer Service with out being charged 2.00 & give your ssn# on the phone (since you don't know the card # because it was shredded right after you bought it) & then still can't talk to anyone without the 2.00 charge. They literally make it impossible to get a hold of any one to talk to (unless you want to pay for it). They make it impossible to get your money back. They make it VERY DIFFICULT to cancel your account. Can't return it at Wal-Mart where you bought it. The money card has so many hidden charges (in super small print) that you can't read it even with glasses on, to read before you buy. That's pretty bad when even the people that work at Wal-Mart warn their consumers about the "Wal-Mart Money Card". Unfortunately, too late. They charge monthly fees (fees for EVERYTHING) Fees to put more money on the card. I finally had to go to the store, buy something for 1.00 & get the rest back in cash. Like I said, trying to close the account is another story. Never used the card for anything else & they make it impossible to opt-out for marketing (even though you already chose not to share your info) Everything about this card is a nightmare.

I called 2 days in a row the 12th and the 13th, the cs r was uninformed saying they do not haveaccess to anything that coul/would b of ant help to me at all. one csr said nothing just stayed slilent the whole time I explained my issue with the card, she went as far asto tellmme too have the funds cancelled, no way I was going to do that I told how she would like her income tax refund cancelled. today I experienced the same thing until I called the local store in which I got thru to bryce who although could not help me resolve the problem but did note the issue and I got to speak to a manager!

Previous to today I had attended their store in response to a catalogue sale to purchase some camping equipment. When I arrived I found the camping aisle deplete of nearly all stock. When I queried this fact I got told the sale had started 2 days ago and they had sold out. The fact was they cannot have had much stock to start with if it sold out that quick. The bargains weren't that good. I was offered a rain check which I accepted. Then I was told it would be a minimum of 6- 8 weeks before it came in. After not hearing from them I rang them 3 months later. Yes, the item was in stock. Why I was not told. I couldn't find your phone number. I am sure I gave it to them at the time. If not, it is in the phone book. They did have my address so could have easily found it or even sent a letter. All I can say is that I will never darken the doorstep of their stores again. When I generally talked among my friends about this they too had faced the same situation. This store is not at all ideal.

I just got a perm on 01/04/09 and the stylist started to give me a perm without washing my hair first. When I told her about it she said she forgot if she was to was it before or after the perm. It took her an hour and a half to roll my hair which is a fifteen minute job. Then she left me under the dryer for twenty five minutes instead of the fifteen she was supposed to. Then she rinsed my hair and put the othet solution on for five minutes but only left it on for three and rinsed me out. But when she finised rinsing me I was soaked all the way down the back of my sweater whish she literly wrong out. She had put on towel what so ever around me. Needless to say I was upset. I told her to take the rollars out and I was out of there. I didn't wait to get it cut or dryed. Stylist that don't know what they are doing should not be working. I feel that I paid $34.95 for nothing.I will never go back to that store. And it was the new walmart in elkhart indiana.

And when I take a cart and put a box of pampers away a a guy with no ID comes to me an tells me that I have no right to do that. I asked the lady at the counter 4 times. Then the store manager ADONIS is very professional and keeps my return bottle and threatens to call the cops on ME !

This Wal-mart Store is known as "The Ghetto Wal-mart"; and believe me, they have earned the reputation, the customer service there is horrible, they make customers bag their own groceries, intead of the cashiers doing it, they use racial slurs, and often refuse to assist customers with anything. I tried of getting lousy service from Wal-mart, and I'm not going back there again...

I am a customer who frequently patronizes Wal-mart that purchased a Wal-mart’s Money Card and loaded $110.00 on it to use it to pay my phone bill online on Christmas Eve. I had a problem with the online payment and called customer care because I needed the card activated. The Customer Service Agent at Wal-marts Customer Center put my card in “refund status” (a status in which I later found out would take ten business days to resolve) creating a situation of my phone bill money being tied up for the next ten business days. That was not what I wanted to do the to do with my $110.00. The Customer Service Agent at Wal-marts Customer Center was mean spirited and unprofessional towards me the Customer. The overwhelming damage is my phone service will be discontinued for the holidays for lack of payment. because of the and I will be without the ability to call friends and family because of the actions of the Customer Service Agent me for which I will seek restitution for damages.

A. The Customer Care agent sounded irritated pushy and mean and was not friendly or courteous and her phone etiquette was not what a repeat customer of Wal-Mart deserves.

B. The Customer Care agent was wrong in that she did not explain to me the possible resolutions for my situation after hearing my concerns.

C. Exclusive of my concerns the Agent abruptly hung up and put my account in refund status, did not inquire about any further concerns that I might have which is an earmark of thorough professional Customer Service.

D. The Customer Care Agent seemed as if she didn’t like me from the beginning without any reason she hung up on me.

I saw this boy who is in my grade five class who was stealing some toys and i told someone who said assistent manager. I showed the manager the boy who was stealing the toys and they reported it to security, then i asked what reward they give and the manager said we don't give rewards but thanks for letting us no, since i did not get a reward the next time someone steals i will let them and not report it. The manager also lied when he reported the boy to security, he said the boy was nine years old and that is a lie because the boy is ten years old like i am and i told him that also. he should have asked before lieing.

Walmart terrible experience!

Recently my husband had triple bypass surgery. I brought him home from a hospital in Pittsburgh, PA that is a 60+ mile drive to home in Hermitage, PA, in a snow storm that was the worst storm in our area's history. I got him home safely, however, I needed to get his prescriptions filled. Since we had all our prescriptions at Wal Mart I wanted to keep everything together. I walked up to the counter and handed the slip to the clerk. She looked at me and asked if i wanted all these filled today. I said yes. She said it would take 2 hours! I asked her if she know what the weather was like outside and told her my car would be buried in snow in 2 hours. I explained to them my husband was just out the hospital from triple bypass surgery and he needed these medications asap. She then said there were 80 people in front of me. I looked around and said i doubted that and if the 80 people were call-in refills I was positive that they would not be coming out is this snow storm to pick them up. She looked at the so called "Pharmist", looked back at me shrugged her shoulders. I grabbed the prescription list out of her hand and I have never by back to Wal Mart to buy anything since. We tried to contact the District & Regional Pharmacy Managers but neither would return our calls, they did not want to handle this and had the store manager call us. We explained to them our situation and it fell on deaf ears. BY THE WAY WE NOW GET OUR PRESCRIPTIONS FILLED AT WALGREENS!

OMG. We had a prescription filled at a Hermitage, Pennsylvania Wal Mart all the way back in 1993 for our son's ear infection medicine... we are military and were told by the pharmacist that they accepted Tri-Care. They did not. We received a bill for 32 dollars in Fort Polk for the prescription, which we firmly refused to pay stating "the pharmacist said Tri-Care would cover it." We held firm.

I guess it hasn't changed much.

Be thankful you didnt have then filled there.I was diagnosed with a form of breast cancer last September and was given several different prescriptions. One was an antibiotic.Well in May I had recieved from Kroger if I switched my prescips I could get $10 per prescrip up to $60 in Kroger gift cards.SO i switched thankfully I did! I wasnt suppose to have refills every 2 weeks since Spetember I was inly to have 1 refill so WALMART had me getting this filled every 2 weeks since September.I now cant take that antibiotic until they know it is FULLY out of my system which could be a year.Ill never have anything filled by WalMart again.BTW there wait time is always 1 1/2 to 2 hours or more its crazy!
PS I would have sued but an attorney told me it would be VERY costly for me as id have to pay him upfront to even start the process and WLAMART most likely would win because they have better lawyers.I talked to about 7 different attorneys who in a nutshell told me all the same thing.

Walmart terrible treatment

I live in Fairhaven MA and have shopped at Walmart ever since they opened, but instead of shopping at the Fairhaven store, I travel to Dartmouth MA which is two cities away because the service and appearance of the Fairhaven store does not seem to be one third as good as Dartmouth. Yesterday I used the mens room there was no hand towels in there and the floor looked like it had not been cleaned in a very long time, but my biggest complaint is the fact that if you ask someone for help, they look at you like you have two heads and the usual answer is I don't work in this department well if the don't what are they doing there walking around talking to other employees.? I truly feel that this has taken away from the stores business and how can i help you is not part of there language. Also the difference in the amount of goods stacked on the shelfs between the two stores is amazing.

Thank you for your time.

Walmart employee

The Walmart in Alpharetta, Georgia on WindWard
Parkway has hired a known thief. The womans name is Jan Maxwell Gaston. She stole peoples identity from several Metro Area Doctors Offices.
She was arrested in November 2007 and is obviously out on bond. She was charged with credit card transaction fraud, ID Fraud and receiving stolen property. How can Walmart hire someone like this to work around credit cards. I will not go there. This woman caused and is still causing a lot of people grief and ruined their credit.

the employees of this store, not all of them some of them are very rude and unhelpful. When you ask a question or as for help they either arent in that department or they are on break so they dont have to help you further. sometimes it's like pulling teeth to get to someone who will help you or lead you in the right direction.

What happened to customer satisfaction? Did it go to Mexico and China along with all the second rate products the store now carries? This problem is from the Manager all the way down to the employee. Tell you what Walmart, if you spent half the time and money working on employee managers and helping customers as you do reorganizing your stores you'd have a much better business. Its sad that all of our home town stores are going out of business for your Corporate takeovers and that the wonderful small store owners who are happy and glad to help a customer get replaced by your corporation with second rate employees.

I recently applied at walmart they called me and offered me a job, i was hired, the third day after my tests
I received a letter telling me I had a prior arrest 4 years ago, that was not letting me be a walmart employee.
I was not even asked about it. I am more than qualified, id say way more than qualified, but my point,
im getting there.
Later I was shopping at walmart with my family, i seen a employee doing hand gestures to another
employee, at first I thought it was sign language, well i suppose to them it was, this was a spanish speaking
person that could not speak english to her co-worker, I was going to assist them sence they both looked utterly
stupid!, but I did'nt, I mean they were smart enough to work there, I supposed they could figure it out themselves.

Kind of hard to be nice if Walmart preys upon the poor and desperate and they know it. I saw first hand many people were working on their lunch break because corporate set unrealistic expectations. They act like thugs and encourage thug like behavior. They tell us we must report any employees that uses words like a liveable wage? Union talk was to be reported to management right away. As a member of management i was shown a video about how a store went union and Walmart closed it down as a message to other employees "Don't *uck with us because we can leave town in a days notice if you unionize the store.
There is a higher markup on chinese made goods and they are made so cheaply that after a few months it will break and the customer will have to buy another one again. They count on customers having to buys the goods again and again.
They just spent another 1, 000, 000 on remodeling the store and they can't seem to find the money to pay better wages. The pretend to care about the workers and pretend to care about the customers. They act as if they are too big to give a damn. too bad.
I have seen it all and it is such a hostile work environment that it violates the federal laws everyday without regard for the law. You dont like it here ...shop elsewhere...you dont like working here then quit and get a job somewhere else...good luck...haha.
Corporate welfare does not work and does not really benefit the community.

My daughter had the same problem, double charged on her credit/debit card. She went to the head manager after a CSM kept staring at my daughters credt card & arguing with her. The manager told my daughter to give it a day or so, the charge must be a ghost charge (whatever that is). After a week, my daughter had to finally go to her own bank & dispute the charge. The money was returned to her account, after the bank got involved, in 24 hours.

Walmart bad experience

I bought a 32 inch colour TV from Wal-Mart a month and a half ago. I just moved about a week and a half ago, when I was taking the cable from the TV to bring over to the other house the part that screws to the TV came off with the cable connection. I called the customer service here at Wal-Mart and of course I didn’t keep my receipt and told them what had happened, the sales rep. told me that there was nothing that could be done because I didn't have my receipt and didn't know what their guarantee was on the sales slip. Now I know that they have and inventory list of the products that they sale because they do it in bulk and everyone has one near. So I really don't appreciate the fact that they wouldn't even replace the product, I didn’t' even ask for my money back just a new TV, I am not rich and won't be buying any electric items from Wal-Mart anymore very unsatisfied with the way they do things at Wal-Mart the people most of them are hard working people trying to have a few nice things and I am one of them.

Return policy on tv's is 90 days, WITH receipt! Yes, they might carry that model and they might have been carrying is for 6 or more months. If the product doesn't ask for the serial number to be scanned, there is NO WAY to tell when it was sold! Why is it ALWAYS Walm-Mart's fault if an item is defective. They purchase from wholesalers and offer it to John Q. Public who doesn't HAVE to buy it!

Unfortunately, WALMART, is not like it once was. I worked for them many years ago, and I still remember that Mr. Walton was at the grand opening, and we had a meeting before the store opened, and he said that if a customer brought something back, to either give them their money back, or exchange. Whatever they wanted, no questions asked. now, even with a receipt, they act like you commited a crime for daring to bring it back. I personally don't shop there very often, because I remember how it use to be.

Me and my wife have been shopping 13 year in the same Wal-mart store...We use credit cards.. my wife uses mine when I am not with her... on 4/16/2009 she charged $100.01 on the card.. they looked at her drivers licence and said it wasn't wasn't her card.. Meanwhile, I am NOW charged the $ 100. to my credit card bill, while i wait for a refund... Seriously, these people or kids who work in this store are nitwits, plus the so called manager, who aways seems to be hidding.

The responce from the so called manager was, I am so sorry.. Hey who give a c... I am out 100 dollars for the month..This store is in Surfside beach, SC on 544...

Well, i will not be back in that or any other walmart store...We also have 400 homes in the same neighbor, I will do what I can to warn these people(mostly retired )to stay away..

I brought my own designer frames in and asked if they could fit them with lenses. They said no problem. The cost would be $80 per lens and a $20 processing fee, for a total of $180. After I gave them my money it was nothing but trouble. The first week I got a call that the lenses had to be sent back due to quality issues. The second week I drove to pick...

Walmart imitation beef!

My husband and I purchased over two hundred dollars worth of groceries today. We had intentions of enjoying a good steak. We paid $14.50 for 2 packs of new york strip. Each pack had two steaks. Each set of steaks had each steak shaped differently.
We also had my sister and brother in law have a steak as well. Out of each steak package one of the two steaks were not the same meat. their texture were different, and tasted imitation, and was very gross. My husband being a owner of a meat business, recognized off hand that the imitation steak was different than his. We feel that walmart intentionally placed a good steak and a bad steak per package. It makes sense because the price was so good. We will never ever buy steak again, and this happened about 2-3 years ago, and we said nothing.

Someone is screwing around in the meat cutting room and switching steaks. Please look into this. This also happened in the walmart store in Arcadia, Fl. Thank you. Catherine Douglas.

I too purchased the "new york strip" steak, from the start the meat was slimy and my fingers slipped right through it. But stupidly i cooked it and it made my roommate and I throw up and was sick for about 3 days. Yesterday I returned the remains to the Ukiah Calif Walmart Store and since I didnt have a recpt the cashier at the "Customer Service Counter" who was standing there with a "closed" sign on the counter, told me no they couldnt refund the money. So the CSR Lindsey came up and didnt bother to hear the reason and just smiled and said No sorry cant return without a receipt . I then asked for the Store Manager Drew, who came up and I explained how bad the product was, how sick I got, and in fact they were falsely advertising a meat product which in fact contained no meat and was a soy based product. He read the back and then said to the "Customer Service" cashier to refund the amount.
What was sad was the pleasure the CSR Lindsey took in refusing to help and denying a product to be returned.

We had a similar experience with New York strips at Wal-Mart. we normally don't buy groceries there, but since we were there for something else, i decided to make an exception. the steaks LOOKED great, but when i cooked one last night, it had a weird texture, and like another person described was almost ham-like. it was too weird and my husband wouldn't eat it. so we won't be grocery shopping there again - their produce isn't the greatest anyway, so it's not worth the trip to save a few dollars.

Your husband owns a meat business, and you're buying 14 dollar steaks at WalMart? Your whole story sounds phony. My guess is your a fat, lonely housewife with nothing better to do.

How can you sell package meat's full of carbonation & spoilage?
I may get food stamps but that doesn't mean I've got to get
sick eating it. Just because you advertise you got low prices
that doesn't mean you got to take away from some of your
other prices.

Walmart fabrics & related merchandise!

I was extremely disappointed and irritated when I went to my LOCAL Walmart to find fabric for some sewing projects I wanted to do this spring. To my dismay, ALL of the fabric was gone and selected notions were being marked 1/2 off. We are located 60 miles from a major city and 30+ miles from slightly larger cities than ours. My question is, "Are all of the Walmart stores doing away with this important department or only in a few select sites?" It is a major inconvenience for me and many others to have to drive so far to get material. No other store in our local area sells regular fabric. I am so upset and disappointed with this action by Walmart, I am seriously considering taking my other shopping elsewhere, i.c., Dollar General, Kroger, Food City, K-Mart, Big Lots, etc. If enough people take this action, you might re-consider what small mountain towns in Tennessee need.

It would be appreciated if you would let me know if any other Walmart stores in this area are continuing to carry fabric and notions. Jo Ann Shaffer, Crossville, TN.

I used to live over 100 miles from nowhere and just made a monthly trip to the city. You can't please everybody, but you can sure tru to please the majority. And just think, if Wal-mart doesn't have that section anymore, it will keep a small business going!

i have to disagree, its all about supply and demand if there aren't enough people needing/wanting the product and that section of the store then they should pull it out, even if there 2000 people shopping in that part of the store that still wouldn't be enough to keep that section

I totally agree with what you are saying. I say this in regards to my mom who also lives in a small town and has to drive at least an hour to get to a sewing store (besides Walmart). Her Walmart is still carrying fabrics and craft supplies at the moment, however certain things are being discontinued like embroidery floss. She was very upset over this, and now I have to find the colors that she is looking for and send them to her. I hope that they will think a little bit more of their actions more, before they completely eliminated this area of business.

Walmart shoddy oil change service!

Took 2 cars to Walmart (old one in town) and selected Value Package Oil Service.

Car 1 - found fluids not topped as in plan, no vacuum cleaning of interiors, no windshield clean and no window shield washer fluid added. Also found some charges for battery terminals that were unchanged... So took back and technician checked and added transmission fluid and had battery charges reversed.

Car 2 - Oil was black! as if not changed at all, no vacuum of interior, no windscreen clean, no topping of fluids, so took it back and manager said it did not look okay (oil being black) and that he would have the oil change done again for free. Also promised to top off all the fluids as required. Later found that the fluids were again not topped. But oil change was done second time for free.

I will never go to Walmart for oil change again. Do not know how many times they did this earlier... with inexperienced or non professional technicians. The technicians seem like temps. Last time I went for oil change, they replaced my battery with a new incorrect battery and did not even fix it. Upon noticing that the clock had reset in the car, I checked hood and found the problem. Spoke to manager... who had my old good battery put back and gave the replaced battery to me for free as 1). It was tech fault to replace battery and put incorrect battery and also not connect the clamps back again on the car 2.) They could not sell the battery again.

OMG! I had paid the extra $5 or so to have ALL of my fluids topped up during my oil change because i was going out of town the next day. Of course I wasn't even 10 miles out of town & I was out of antifreeze (and no, I did not have a leak)! ALSO: I was extremely low on windshield wiper fluid. Yes, I could have easily topped up these fluids myself but I had so many things to do before the trip & thought I would save myself the hassle for a few extra bucks.

Had oil changed and noticed on listed paperwork they had checked my air filter. Knowing last year filter was getting dirty and living near numerous construction site, I asked if it was okay. I was told that they checked it and must be okay. Asked person who actually worked on the car and was told no, they did not check it. I was told it was not convient to get too ? I guess they do not have a screwdrivers at walmart or unable to unscrew several screws? I noticed several other things marked as checked. I am sorry but will not ever go back NOT CONVIENT !

Walmart they will get my business any more

We carried our SUV in for oil change & rotate our tires & had two fix one tire. There were 4 workers & one supervisor out there. There was only one worker, working at a time. Our SUV was on the workfloor over 1 1/2 hours that no one was getting anything done. We shop for about an hour, then went back two the service department & sat there four about one & half hours before they finally got through. While we were waiting they all had two take a break at one time. When we got there they told us it would not take about 1 hour to do what we wanted. I don't think they will get my business any more unless they change.

Walmart discrimination!

My brother was returning a pair of jeans at the Wal-Mart in Jackson, KY. He did not have a receipt for these jeans, and just wanted a gift card or exchange. The customer before him in line, an older lady, was returning an older telephone without the receipt, without the box, or anything. The associates gave her CASH back for this telephone. then, my brother (25 yrs. old) took the jeans to the counter. There was nothing wrong with the jeans, except they didn't fit him. They were Brand New with tags and UPC code. The lady behind the counter (Diane) told him, 'We don't give exchanges/gift cards without receipts!' He said, 'well, the lady ahead of me brought back that phone without the receipt or even the box it came in and you gave her cash!' then a manager (Paul) stepped over and my brother explained the situation, and the mgr. said, 'No... no returns without receipts!' then, my brother said, 'look at that phone sitting there... a lady brought that in with no receipt or even a box and they gave her cash!' the mgr. said, 'Well, it didn't go through me.' My brother asked 'well, why does this return have to go through you, then?' the mgr couldn't give an answer.

About 15 minutes later, I took the jeans back (again, no receipt) into the store and they gave me a gift card for them... no questions asked! This is obvious discrimination!

Were they discriminating his age? I have more than 5 walmart stores within 30 minutes of my house and all of them have the return policy on the wall behind the counter. its a very large board so it can be read from the customer side of the counter. Your brother should have told the ignorant employees to read and learn the policy.

About Walmart

Walmart is a multinational retail corporation that operates a chain of hypermarkets, discount department stores, and grocery stores. The company was founded in 1962 by Sam Walton and has since grown to become one of the largest retailers in the world. Walmart's headquarters are located in Bentonville, Arkansas, and the company has over 11,000 stores in 27 countries worldwide.

Walmart is known for its low prices and wide selection of products. The company offers a variety of goods, including groceries, clothing, electronics, home goods, and more. Walmart's online store, walmart.com, allows customers to shop for products from the comfort of their own homes and have them delivered directly to their doorstep.

In addition to its retail operations, Walmart is also involved in a number of philanthropic efforts. The company has donated millions of dollars to various charitable organizations and has launched initiatives to support education, hunger relief, and sustainability.

Walmart has faced criticism in the past for its labor practices and impact on small businesses. However, the company has taken steps to improve its image and has implemented policies to increase wages and benefits for its employees.

Overall, Walmart is a major player in the retail industry and continues to expand its reach both in-store and online. With its focus on low prices and customer convenience, the company is likely to remain a popular shopping destination for years to come.
