Review of Walmart Grocery Delivery: Issues with Product Availability, Bad Produce, and Delivery Drivers
Walmart Grocery Delivery (grocery.walmart.com) has faced numerous criticisms from its customers due to the flaws in their services. Upon registering for Walmart Grocery Delivery, customers discovered that certain grocery items that they could previously receive from the physical Walmart store were not available anymore for delivery customers. This is a major limitation that some customers found extremely frustrating. Additionally, the issue of bad produce has been prevalent among its customers. This ranges from rotten bananas to the puniest bell peppers and unripe cantaloupe - which aren't suitable for consumption.
Moreover, the problem of receiving bad substitutions has been an issue in Walmart Grocery Delivery that many have faced. In some cases, customers would order a specific product, only for it to be substituted with something they didn't order or that was irrelevant to the situation. One customer ordered a case of 16 oz bottles of drinking water, and Walmart replaced it with 2 gallon jugs of water. Similarly, a customer requested seedless grapes but received seeded grapes instead of selecting seedless grapes of a different color.
Walmart's delivery service also had issues with drivers who never showed up on several occasions. One customer expressed their frustration of the broken promises with the delivery being unavailable for the past few hours, whereby another customer was adamant that they didn't request a cancellation only for it to be canceled without their knowledge. The customer had visitors coming over, so they quickly made an order for pick-up only to receive a call later and discover they were incorrectly given someone else's order. Walmart had to replace it entirely, which was an inconvenience.
There were other cases of drivers not following instructions or being unprofessional. A customer claimed that they instructed the driver to deliver the order under the carport and ring the doorbell. The Walmart driver failed to do so, 70% of the time, leaving their customers disappointed. The driver would even leave the delivery in the middle of the driveway instead of keeping it in the instructed location. On one occasion, the driver even confused another customer's order for their order, disrupting their plans for the day.
In conclusion, Walmart Grocery Delivery has several flaws that many of its customers are not pleased with. Although it has some good aspects, it still fell short on customer satisfaction, leading to customers' dissatisfaction. Irrespective of their free delivery for several months, customers have resolved to switch to other grocery services due to Walmart's poor deliveries. Walmart must address this as soon as possible before they lose all their customers.
Unsatisfactory Experience with Walmart Grocery Delivery & Pick-up
I recently tried out Walmart Grocery Delivery through their website, grocery.walmart.com, and unfortunately, I had a less than satisfactory experience. Despite placing my order well in advance, my deliveries were consistently late, often by an entire day! To make matters worse, the substitutions made for out-of-stock items were impractical, such as peaches in place of apples and chicken stock instead of vegetable stock. Moreover, I never received a complete order as items were consistently out of stock. In this day and age where stock management programs are used in most stores, this experience was unacceptable.
After cancelling my subscription to Walmart+, I decided to give their pick-up service a try. However, my experience was just as frustrating. Despite receiving a notice that my order was ready 15 minutes prior to my scheduled pick-up time, I arrived to find full bays and no associates to bring out my order. Attempting to contact them, I was redirected to a full voicemail after calling the number provided, and even their own customer service agents were unable to reach the store. After waiting for 30 minutes with no progress, I decided to cancel my Walmart order.
In my frustration, I turned to Instacart and was pleasantly surprised to find that my exact same order was $10 cheaper. To my relief, I received a complete order without any substitutions needed, and it was waiting for me when I got home. It was disappointing to have such a negative experience with Walmart Grocery Delivery and made me question why anyone would continue to use their service.
Walmart Grocery Delivery: Unreliable and Frustrating - A Review
I have had several experiences with Walmart Grocery Delivery (grocery.walmart.com) and unfortunately, I have been missing items from my order on multiple occasions. Despite only ordering from them 4 times, it seems that every third order has had some sort of issue. The most recent time was the last straw for me, as not only were items missing, but the driver delivered my order to my neighbor's doorstep! Upon seeing the package delivered pictures, I could tell that half of my items were missing. It was unbelievable to me that only 4 bags were delivered when I had spent $180 for a small party/get together. There is no way any Tetris champion could have arranged everything in just 4 bags. I had a really tough time getting any sort of compensation from Walmart, and I found the process to be much more time-consuming than with other delivery services like DoorDash. It was almost like pulling teeth to get the issue resolved, and I was on the phone for a long time trying to do so. Finally, Walmart refunded me $113 worth of items that were missing. However, I never received any sort of coupon or discount for all of the trouble that I had to go through. Needless to say, the party was not what I had hoped it would be since over half my items were missing!
To make matters worse, I also discovered that even if my order was cancelled, the driver would still receive the tip whether they had delivered my order or not. This was incredibly frustrating as I was billed separately for the tip and it seemed unfair that I would still have to pay it even if my order was cancelled. When I contacted Walmart about a small delivery order that had never shown up and got cancelled, I was charged $8 for a tip 3 days after the order was cancelled. Despite explaining to them that the delivery hadn't happened and requesting that the charge be refunded, I didn't get anywhere with my complaint. Unfortunately, Walmart's customer service team didn't seem to grasp my concern and I was left feeling frustrated and disappointed.
Overall, my experiences with Walmart Grocery Delivery haven't been great. Despite a few positive experiences in the past, I am starting to think that this service isn't reliable enough for me to continue using it. It's unfortunate that Walmart's customer service isn't more helpful in resolving issues when they arise, and I would caution anyone considering using this service to be prepared for potential issues and complications with their order.
Customer's Experience With Walmart Grocery Delivery and Citi Credit Card Dispute
The Walmart Grocery Delivery service has been put under scrutiny recently after a customer experienced an incident that left her feeling unsettled. The customer had made a $150 order from the Oceanside Marron Walmart location, but due to feeling unwell, was unable to pick up her order. She attempted to cancel the order but was unable to do so. The website had promised that she would not be charged for an order she was unable to pick up, but when she received her credit card statement, she found that she had been charged.
Upon contacting customer service, she was told that as the order was picked up, she was responsible for the payment. In an attempt to resolve the situation, the customer tried to contact the Oceanside Marron Walmart manager but was disconnected. Feeling helpless, the customer disputed the charges with their Citi credit card for fraudulent charges and not receiving items. Walmart responded to the dispute by sending Citi a sales receipt that stated that the order was picked up, but the customer could not understand how this was possible. They attempted to reach out to Citi for further research into the matter but was disappointed to find that Citi did not put in the effort to resolve her dispute. In the end, she found out that she would have to pay for the order that she had not received.
The customer was left with no choice but to file a police report against Walmart and report the incident to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau against Citi credit card. Although she had a negative experience, she did not make the decision to stop shopping at Walmart in the future. Instead, she has chosen to only pay with cash.
This story serves as a cautionary tale to us all to be mindful about who we are entrusting our credit card information with. While the customer had heard about the "you are only responsible for $50 law," she learned the hard way that this was not necessarily true. In cases like these, it is imperative to do further research to get the resolution that is fair to all parties involved.
Walmart's Same Day Delivery Service: A Frustrating and Inefficient Experience
I have been a loyal Walmart customer for many years and have always appreciated their reliable shipping services, most commonly through FedEx, UPS, USPS, or Ontrac. Recently, however, I was unexpectedly switched over to Walmart's same day delivery service, and I have to say, I am not impressed. Unfortunately, there is no option to opt-out of this service and revert back to regular shipping methods, which makes me feel a bit helpless.
Over the past few months, I have had three bad experiences with the same day delivery service and have reached out to Walmart corporate to express my concerns. Most recently, I placed an order of six items, only to discover that my order was divided into three separate deliveries with three different drivers. I found this to be extremely inefficient, especially when the app was only designed to track one driver at a time. This meant I had to wait around my house for four hours, waiting for three different drivers to arrive with my packages. This was particularly frustrating since porch pirates are common in my area, and I didn't want to risk losing any of my deliveries.
On top of this, the app consistently provided inaccurate delivery time estimates, and my deliveries would usually arrive one to two hours late. The first part of my order arrived missing two of the items I had ordered, so I contacted Walmart's customer service via chat to request a refund. When the second part of my order arrived, the driver accidentally gave me the order from the third part of my order instead. Meanwhile, my second part of the order was marked as "delivered," despite never receiving it. Thus, I had to contact the support team again and request a second refund. Then, the third part of my order never received a tracking number and was marked as "delivered" despite never receiving any part of it at all. This ordeal caused me an immense amount of stress and frustration, and left me feeling completely unsatisfied with my Walmart experience.
To make matters worse, I was charged a "beverage container fee," and yet my beverages weren't even delivered in any kind of container. They simply dumped the boxes on my doormat, which made the fee seem like a total rip-off. Overall, my latest Walmart experience left me feeling infuriated, and I ended up having to go to a Walmart store to retrieve the missing items in-person, which completely defeats the purpose of online ordering. If Walmart does not provide me with an opt-out solution to the same day delivery service, I will have no choice but to start shopping at Target instead.
Mixed Feelings about Walmart Grocery Delivery: Quality and Consistency Concerns
As a frequent user of Walmart Grocery Delivery, I have some mixed feelings about the service. Initially, my first delivery went off without a hitch. The delivery person was prompt, followed my instructions, and even replaced an out-of-stock item with a suitable alternative. It was a great experience overall.
However, things took a downward turn after that. None of my subsequent orders were complete as I had requested. On one occasion, my order was mixed up with another customer's order. While the delivery person did call me when she arrived and we managed to sort things out, it was still frustrating to deal with. When I contacted customer service to try and resolve things, I hit a dead end. They were unable to help me directly and instead, I was forced to place another order and wait for two days before I could receive it. Despite promises that management would reach out to me, I haven't heard a peep from them.
What frustrates me the most about the service is that none of my orders have been delivered as requested. There have been no replacements for many of the unavailable items I requested, and the replacements that were suggested were sub-par after my first delivery experience. The quality of service has been on the decline since I first started using Walmart Grocery Delivery.
Most recently, I've noticed that all of my delivery people have been African American and using food stamps. While I appreciated their punctuality and attentiveness to my needs, I couldn't help but wonder if my complaints about the service had anything to do with this. It seemed strange that every delivery person I had come across through food stamps was dark-skinned, while the first Caucasian American delivery person I encountered went straight past hotel security, up the elevator and knocked on my hotel door during the pandemic emergency - leaving me feeling very anxious and uneasy.
All in all, my experience with Walmart Grocery Delivery has been mixed. While the delivery people have been reliable, there have been too many errors and inconsistencies with my orders. And the recent strange experience with the delivery person has only served to further erode my trust in the service. As a result, I'm not quite sure whether I'll continue using Walmart Grocery Delivery in the future, despite the convenience it offers.
Frustration and Disappointment: My Experience with Walmart Grocery Delivery
My experience with Walmart Grocery Delivery has been one filled with frustration and disappointment. Despite having a membership with them and paying on a monthly basis, I had to make an unexpected payment 3 days before my next renewal, using a card that wasn’t normally associated with my account. Even after 3 more unsuccessful attempts at charging my normal card, Walmart canceled my membership and demanded an additional $12.95 just to reactivate it.
Despite my best efforts to resolve the situation with customer service and providing them with proof of payment, they were unable to locate it and refused to refund me. Additionally, Walmart always seems to overcharge me and takes a frustratingly long time to get any resolution or refund.
I heavily rely on grocery delivery, especially during the current pandemic where transportation and social distancing are major concerns. Nevertheless, the poor quality of service and injustice I have received from Walmart Grocery Delivery has left me feeling extremely disillusioned. I am now actively looking for alternative options to do my grocery shopping and would readily switch to another delivery service if it meant better quality of service and reliability.
Disappointing Experience with Walmart Grocery Delivery: Delayed Orders and Unhelpful Customer Support
My experience with Walmart Grocery Delivery has been quite frustrating. I recently placed an order on Walmart's website for a delivery, with a scheduled delivery date of 1/1/22. However, on the day of delivery, I received a notification that my order was delayed without any clear reason. After waiting for hours, I contacted their chat support, where I was told to wait until 10:00 P.M. for an update.
Unfortunately, no update came, even after multiple calls to the store and customer service, and I was informed that the store hadn't even started my order. As I had used a gift card for my purchase, I was unable to obtain a refund, which added to the frustration.
Subsequently, I decided to order from a different store on 1/2/22, with a scheduled delivery date of 1/3/22. However, to my dismay, the same pattern repeated, and my order was delayed yet again. Despite reaching out to customer service multiple times, they failed to provide a proper explanation, and the delivery was eventually canceled without my consent.
Throughout the process, I have encountered unhelpful customer support that fails to provide timely solutions. Moreover, because I used a gift card, I feel like I'm stuck in a Walmart loop, unable to obtain a cash refund, and being forced to use the store credits for another delivery. Overall, my experience with Walmart Grocery Delivery has been extremely negative, and I advise others to avoid this service.
Unreliable Walmart Grocery Delivery - A Nightmare of Disappearing and Delayed Orders
I have been receiving deliveries from Walmart for almost 2 years now and I have to say, during that time, it has been a pretty reliable service. Of course, like any service, there were a few hiccups here and there, but overall I would have given it a solid B grade. The deliveries would often be right on time, well-packed, and the drivers pleasant enough. There were times when I received odd substitutions or produce that was about to expire too soon but Walmart was always good at addressing these issues and resolving them effectively.
However, something seems to have gone wrong in the last 2 months or so. Out of my regular weekly orders, I have only received 2 so far. Every time I place an order, I now receive a message indicating that it has been delayed, and then...nothing. The order simply disappears into the abyss, without any further updates or explanations. As a result, I am no longer able to cancel my order online and must contact customer service, which can take an eternity, to cancel it for me and refund my money. As someone with children, I spend hundreds of dollars on food weekly, and this unreliability is simply not acceptable. I now have to go to other grocers, like Kroger, in person to find my necessaries which are more expensive, but at least I am assured of their availability.
It is quite ironic, as I used to choose Walmart to save money and precious time. It was a great relief to be able to do all my weekly groceries in just 30 minutes while avoiding the headache of in-store shopping which took over 2 hours from start to finish. However, this nightmare of disappearing and delayed orders, and online cancellations that can take an eternity, is not worth it anymore. The other delivery services, from other grocery stores like Kroger, are not giving me anywhere near this kind of trouble. The issue clearly lies with Walmart.
I have complained to Walmart about this issue, but so far there has been no resolution. They are losing customers and money because of this major problem and it seems they are not doing much to address it. I have to say, it is a shame that a service that was once so reliable and convenient has gone so far down the drain. I would definitely advise anyone against using the Walmart Grocery Delivery service. It simply isn't worth the headaches you'll get from this mess.
Auto service
I got a flat tire on my Prius a 1/8 mile from Glenville Walmart. I managed to drive there to the automotive area. The manager said he couldn’t help me cause too busy. I had to call a tow truck and be towed to Munro Muffler to get a tire on. prius Prime has no spare.
I’m sorry, but I’ve been in managerial positions in the service industry. There is no way any shop could be so busy that they could not squeeze in one more desperate person. That was crazy. This type of NO SERVICE is what will make me choose anything but Walmart. Shame.
price increase
Your great value frozen orange juice price went from $1.50 to $1.97 a .47 cent increase on one item is a little too much with over 10,000 stores you could recoup by raising the price .02 cents across the board on all items to recoup any cost increase as a senior citizen living on a fixed income of $1786 a month 47% on any item is too much and I have noticed you prices are up on alot of items you going to be the same price as your competitors before long I don't think that was Sam Waltons vision
Employee and store security
As eden 1&2 township democratic representatives. I for one am concerned about walmart corporate shutting down our stores. Part of our problem is self checkouts. Some people are just walking out without paying. Solution remove all self checkouts making everyone go thru a physical check out line. Plus if you think going automated is the answer you got another thing coming. People around here will not support you. They will pull everything from pharmacy to groceries and shop elsewhere. Your choice.
Automatic floor cleaner machine
My mother (91 yrs old) and myself were in the toy aisle at Walmart in Carbondale, IL. I saw an employee work on a floor cleaner machine then walk away. All of a sudden this floor cleaner machine starts moving on its own going down one aisle then coming up the aisle my mother & I were in. It was coming straight towards us and I had to hurry & get my mother...
Read full review of WalmartHart chainsaw
Two weeks ago (4/2/23) I purchased a 20V Hart chainsaw in the Thomasville NC Walmart store and within an hour of purchase, decided I wanted to exchange the product for a 40V chainsaw to match the other 40V Hart tools I had that could exchange batteries. At that time I had no problems with that exchange, because as Walmart policy was explained, they do not offer refunds on Hart, but will exchange for equal or greater value. Today (4/15/23) I used the chainsaw and discovered that the battery does not work, but the chainsaw did work with other Hart 40V batteries I had. When I went to Walmart Customer Service, they explained that their policy would not allow me to simply exchange the faulty battery, but I needed to exchange the chainsaw with it. Anticipating that could be the response, I had the chainsaw. They then instructed me to make sure they had the replacement on the shelf and bring it back with my used chainsaw and they would replace it. There was a replacement and I brought both back and they then told me of another policy, stating that since I originally replaced the 20V, I could now not replace the 40V, even with the battery not working.
Desired outcome: I want a new battery that works.
Online order never shipped or received!
I purchase a product online from Walmart.ca and the website states if I pay for my order within a specific time frame that it would be delivered by Friday April 14, 2023. So, I placed my order which was for approx $600.00. Got my confirmation of the order and the email from Walmart stated that I would receive an email with delivery details etc. later on that night I did in fact receive an email with the confirmation or the order processed completed and a tracking number for the carrier to be delivered April 14. So April 14 come around. I stay home waiting for my order and it never arrived. I call Walmart that tell me that the Carrier is suppose to ship it and to call them. So I call the carrier and they tell me that they never got any order from Walmart and to call Walmart back. I call Walmart, they tell me that they printed the waybill and shipping label and the carrier is supposed to pick it up and to call them.I call the carrier back and they say they no nothing about the order and they literally have no idea what’s going on and to call Walmart. I call Walmart back and they tell me they are going to open up an investigation and will get back to me in 2-3 days because the item is still in there warehouse and it’s not shipped ? I ask Walmart who dropped the ball on this order and they blame the carrier, the carrier blames Walmart and I’m. Wing told once these two chat over the next few days they’ll
Let me know what’s going on with my order! Unless I’m
Just out to lunch here, I find this absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional business practices to have me going back and forth between these two companies and no one had the audacity to contact me about me order, now I have to sit here and wait for these two to chit chat about who dropped the balls and then get back to me about when they are going to ship my item that I paid for in full to be delivered April 14th. I’m told by Walmart customer service that I should hear back from them no later than April 19th about the status of my order and when they will ship it! I’ll just sit here and play with my fingers waiting for a phone call or email I guess?
Walmart charged me twice for one transaction
Everything is on camera, everywhere we go. I tried to get some help yesterday, the employees at walmart are prejudice because I am a native american. They look at me mean, or they will brush me off to someone else, saying they can't help me.
This happened yesterday Wednesday, April 12, 2023. The lead superviser yesterday was Sally? She is the meanest, most hateful employee there. She just looked at me mean when I was standing in line at customer service. Other customers were standing line, they just walked away too, There were about four to six employees standing around customer service. They never acknowledged the customers standing there, they just looked at us mean and kept doing whatever they were doing.
Today, I went back maybe if I avoided the mean hateful day employees someone else would help. They act like this money is coming out of their pocket. I got tired of arguing with these employees who would not refund me my money walmart owes me.
I called my back City National today and aske if walmart charged me, they said yes they did. The bank said walmart owes me the money not the bank.
I want a lawyer.
Everything can be proven on security cameras.
Why do employees go to work if they don't want to do their job? I talked to three different managers today and all they wanted to do was argue, saying that walmart did not owe me the money. I said I have my bank statement to prove walmart charged me for something I did not get.
Desired outcome: I want my $143.00 loaded back onto my bank account. I talked to three different managers and all they wanted to do was argue, I said the security tapes will prove everything. NO REFUND YET!
Refused to give a receipt
I order online groceries at Walmart in Sebastian, FL for my 96 year old blind mother and her caregivers pick up the order. I have requested the caregivers be given a receipt of the order to compare against the groceries they received and have been told many times by customer service that that should not be a problem. Today I finally was able to speak to someone in the pickup area and was told they have no access to the receipt and no way to give it to the caregivers. That whomever places the order is emailed a receipt. That's me, and I'm 1300 miles away! Why can't they either be given a duplicate receipt or a copy of the packing order they use to fill the order? I have contacted customer service many times and have been told to contact the manager of the store. I have tried that as well and most times there is no answer, and in fact, when I finally spoke with the operator, she had never heard of the person customer service told me was the manager. The manager is on a 3 month leave and the co-manager I was told was not in and no offer to have him/her contact me. Just transferred me to the pickup department where I was told they could not give the caregivers a receipt. Why is this so difficult, and why am I being given such a run-around?
Desired outcome: That the caregivers picking up the food orders be given a duplicate receipt.
Misleading Prices
To Whom it May Concern:
Today I was delighted to see pillows on sale in a bin marked $4.97 at the Edinburgh Walmart in Chesapeake, VA.
I took a photo & went to check out my merchandise. When I scanned the pillows which I had taken from the bin, they rang up $7.95. The customer service rep told me that was the price even though I had a photo of similar pillows in the bin. She said I could only have one of the 4 according to hour policy.
I have been shopping at Walmart ever since it opened & never had an issue like this. We talking low priced items here, not an outdoor pavillion.
These pillows were to be a gift for our grandson's new home. As you can imagine, I am disappointed in more ways than one. I would love to get these 4 pillows at the price shown on the display if they remain.
Sincerely,
Diana F Stuart
Desired outcome: I would appreciate the 2 Beige weave square pillows & 2 pale green similar pillows.
Unauthorized charges
April 7th I had a charge of 474.12 to my money card. Tried to report it stolen and was left on hold so long, that the person who had my number tried to take the REST of my money. Reported the card stolen to someone I couldn't understand at all, who assured me he would file a dispute on my behalf, was not done. Called again and speaking with people who talk over me, can't answer questions and I have YET to hear anything, much less get the money back stolen from me. Bad business, I have to say. I'm far from don't.
Desired outcome: To have what was taken from me, or at the very least speak to someone who understands what I'm saying so I can at least try.
Walmart money card/green dot
This the 3 rd complaint against the WalmartCard Green Dot I have posted on this site! Read previous posts I wrote about how they took $116.00 out of my direct deposit Nov.17,2022! The card was nit in my name it was in my roommates name. Apparently he had unauthorized charges and he called them to inform them of this matter. They told him they had to investigate this and he would here back in 45 days. Instead if getting back, they took it upon thenselves to steal my money which they are not allowed to do. Informed social security about this crime and sent them my receipt from proving what crime they commutted! I have written walmart, green dot and have got no response. I have xalled many times only to get people who dont speak english! I did get a supervisor from Green dot who was extremely rude and also did not speak english as well. She wouldnt give me my money. Has been 5 months now and it needs to be resolved immediately! I am on a very low fixed income! Due to the outrageous high cost of food and rent & bills I have, I need my money to buy food to survive! Barely surviving let alone had 2 anxiety attacks which is not good for my health! Cant handle the stress of this crime they pulled! Please help me get my $116.00 returned!
