fees for savings account
I've been a customer of Wells Fargo for over 20 years. I have a car loan, Visa card, checking account and savings account with them. This month they charged me for three excess activity fees, $10 each, for doing 9 balance transfers to and from my savings account. According to customer service the federal law is your only allowed 6 per month. I could go to the ATM and take money from my savings account every single day without being debited but using THEIR online service I was charged $30!
I guess Chase is now going to get all my business.
Oh and thank you noone9999 for a real answer!
So everyone reads their contracts but me? What a bunch of BS.
I'm sure I was in formed some time in the last 20 years I've had the account about the fees. Do you read the entire contract when you sign up for something? Do you read the entire contract when you buy a car or purchase a house? No, I didn't think so.
overdraft protection transfers
It's the last day of the month and, at the end of the day, we end up with $14. and change in our checking account ...
Been retired from the military for 17 years now, so on the 1st of the month, every month for all of those 17 years, there's a direct deposit to our checking account. Also happens that we authorized our auto insurer to draft our payment for auto insurance on the 1st.
One would think 'no problem'.
Not so: the bank transfers funds from our savings account to our checking account (AND CHARGES A FEE) because the auto insurance draft is posted/debited on the East Coast before the direct deposit is credited on the West Coast.
When we called Wells Fargo customer service they vigorously supported this practice; even the supervisors.
"We're putting our customers first, not the calendar. We're beginning every discussion with what's best for our customers and our team members — focusing first not on the bottom line but the top line...Our first job is to understand our customers' financial objectives, their true financial needs, then offer them products and services to help satisfy those needs so they can be financially successful." ... President and CEO John Stumpf
The only thing missing from Mr Stumpf's comment is the slogan, 'Together we'll go far'.
Customer priorities are not about the success of a company--they care about what a company can do for them; it's a greedy slogan supported by greedy banking practices. It becomes obvious, regardless of rhetoric, that with practices similar to this overdraft protection transfer gimmick, Wells Fargo doesn't really care about its customers, only it's bottom line!
posting debits late
I've noticed that every since Wells Fargo bought out Wachovia, their practice has changed for the worst as it relates to consumers. Wachovia used to post your debits to their website and flag it as pending. They would also deduct the pending amount from your balance, showing 2 balances; one without the pending debit and one with it. I've found that Well...

I'm a divorced woman who's managing to keep my head just above water. I get help from no one and all of my income comes from one job (that I'm grateful to have). My I initially got the loan from Wells Fargo they did not offer the consolidated loan, but told me I could re-fi later because it would be available in the near future. Well now that I desparately need the insurance & taxes included, as well as a reduction, I've been informed that I'm not "Default Imminent"! What do I have to do? What can I do? I don't want to lose my home, but I can't afford it like this.
fraud and nondisclosure, false info and threat byy the bank to retaliate if I made this public
misrepresented many aspects of the loan and then outright lied about the terms and interest rates also I have tried to straighten this out many times and they have threatened retaliation on the part of the bank

reverse mortgage department dealings
My mother and brother both perished in a house fire in January of this year. My mother, unfortunately, had a reverse mortgage with Wells Fargo. I have just been appointed executor of her estate as her daughter and also resided at the residence where the fire occurred. I thought that I could talk to Wells Fargo about what happened and the loss of my mother and myhome, and discuss payment of my mom's loan. Wells Fargo was insensitive, argumentative and highly unprofessional and was threatening towards me. Shame on you and I feel sorry for anyone else who may have dealings with Wells Fargo.

I'm so sorry for you loss and all the problems. It isn't only Wells Fargo. Mine is a long story so I won't post it all, but I have run into a huge problem with Financial Freedom. My son was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Lymphoma and we are being threatened with foreclosure right now even though I am legally the owner of the house because it was a life estate deed. I'm heartbroken and there is no one to help me.
foreclosure scam
I am interested in pursuing or joining a class actioin suit against wells fargo home mortgage. These are the facts.
1) wells fargo continually asked for additional paperwork (Equitable distribution, quit claim deed, etc) , then asked for clarity for the documentation they requested. Wells fargo asked for that the same documents be faxed on numberous occasions. Wells fargo asked for documents that exceeded investor guidelines.
2) an offer to buy, from a prequalified buyer, which was within 5k of assessed property value remained on the table for over 4 months, leading up to foreclosure.
3) a final request for postponement was denied by fannie mae because documentation didn't reach them in time to approve postponement per "invester" guidelines. Wells fargo failed to clearly state what was needed in a timely fashion. I was told that they needed a quit claim deed, which I supplied 3 months prior to foreclosure date. Seven days prior to foreclosure, wells fargo asked for a "recorded" copy of the quit claim deed. The following day I registered the deed and faxed a copy of the newly registered (Recorded) deed. They sent my information to the investor, and the short sale offer was denied along with the request for postponement because it wasn't within 10 days of the the foreclosure sale date. I responded promptly to each request and had my quit claim deed months before the scheduled sale date. I would have gladly supplied them with a recorded deed if it was requested. I contend that their negligence was deliberate.

I received a letter from WF stating that they would proceed with accelerated proceedings - foreclosure - if I did not pay them the 2 months of mortgage plus late fees by the middle of March 2015. I sent them about half though my banks bill pay and the rest was though a rep with WF over the phone. WF received the check from my bank but has been sitting on it - uncashed - for 2 weeks now. None of their service reps have any info on having received this and I strongly believe that this is WF way of holding the money and forcing me into the foreclosure process. I am trying to cancel the check with my bank but it will take 5 business days. This should be reported to the government. Shame on you WF
I hear all of this going on but I have to ask where the heck is the government in all this, "For the people and by the people" yea right. For the politicians that invest with Well Fargo, along with multiple billionaire investors through out the globe. All the rest of the hard working family people, can go pound sand. I am dealing with these jerks as well since my wife I got laid off in 2009. I, as a courtesy, advised them of what had happened with our jobs in order to have them work with me and they offered me that same b.s. plan they offer everybody. Needless to say, I told them to send me the offer in writing so I may look it over and they did, eventually, 3 months later. Come to find out that what they where not going to charge in those 3 months was going to be asked for as 1 lump sum at the end of the 90 days (dumb ###), how is this going to help anyone in dyer straights. I finally came to an agreement with them to pay about $300 less than what I was currently paying at the time and the difference would be tacked on to the end of the contract, which would be extended. These payments did not last even 6 months before they jumped up again to almost the same thing I was paying originally. I called and asked for an explanation of the payments going up again and they said that this was not their problem, they said that they can't control Insurance rates or tax rates. So now I fell a month behind and when I went to make a payment they refused it. I spoke with their customer service and they told me I was 3 months late, I assured them that I wasn't and they said that I missed a payment in November of 2011. When I pulled my account statements from August 2011 through December 2011 I show a payment every month, some paid with late fees. So I explained to them once more that I was only 1 month in the hole and that I was willing to get the money from a friend for the 1 month I was behind and they said no, that they will only except the total amount for the 3 months or they would send my house to foreclosure, mind you, that even if that where true the payment I was originally making was not considered late until the 12th of the month and I was making it on the 8th because that's when my company paid me. Now I have to go to mediation for something that could have been resolved in a much easier manner by them accepting 2 months payments with the late fee and figuring out what happened with the Nov 2011 payment that they accepted. These guys are just trying to screw everyone out of their homes and put them out in the street. I have 4 kids and a wife and believe me if WF wants a fight I have one for them.
Go get em' we're trying to keep our home out of foreclosure but every time I called WF, each person told me a different story and nobody was on the same page so I wrote them a letter proposing a payment plan to catch the loan up within 45 days and they cashed the first payment, which I sent with the letter. I assumed since they cashed the payment, they would accept our payment arrangement but over a week after the fact they wired the money back to my account. My attorney claims she's never heard of that and found it hard to believe. I'm living one of the nightmares that I keep reading about. Something has to change.

auto opening e-mail's.
It's Saturday 1140 am, my Ex girlfriend had my Wells Fargo account numbers. I went to my nearest WF location and changed accounts. I emphasized; "I Don't Want ON-Line Banking!" I get home and I'll be damned but there are 4 e-mails in my in-box. "Hmmmm". I created a folder to stick them in, checked off the little green box, click "send" to new folder and the damn thing opened instead. Then I sent it to the folder with no problem. There are 3 remaining unopened Wells Fargo e-mails, , , , , , , , , . (Fluke?) Gotta see if it happens again. I clicked the box, found the folder and clicked send. It opened too. The 2 remaining mails did the same thing and needed to be opened before I could folder them.
Why is Wells Fargo so Hell Bent on getting into my computer? Are they developing software that they can use against us someday?

overdraft fees and pending transactions
This is the worst bank in my opinion. I went on vacation in early May 2011 (10th to the 17th). I had made sure I had enough money and did make a lot of purchases (most of it being food). The problem with this? Well, I had a lot of PENDING transactions. For each purchase I made though, the money had already come out of my account even though the transaction...

This company is absolutely disgusting! Nothing but a bunch of lying con artists who prey on the very own people who bailed all the damn banks out in the first place. We need a revolution to happen where we all storm the loan offices and banks and take over.
These people charge up too and I'm more then 30% interests, which alone is criminal and then they play games to make sure that you mess up your payments so they can jack up the cost.
I set up an auto loan because my banker claimed that it would be the fasted and easiest way to get the money I needed and that it would build my credit. Non of this was true at all. All lies! I set up automatic payment to make life easier for me. i have a Wells Fargo bank account and was paying the Wells Fargo auto loan thru that bank account. Every time the bill was due something happened to screw up the money going thru. I had to reset up my automatic payment more then 6 times before i gave up. each time the bank had screwed up and then they tried to charge me for late fees and then jack up the interest. They claim that they can not contact the bank and that they are separate from the bank. This is also a lie. I was told from multiple people at the branch and thru the 800 number that they can do all that work and contact them but the auto finance never would help.
I finally paid off my loan at the bank branch with cash. I insisted to have my car title returned to me and they completely ignored me. They were alway quick to call me starting at 6 am until 11 pm but good luck getting ahold of them and getting anywhere. They are rude and criminal. They lied to me on multiple occasions as to when they mailed it out. it has been a month and I still do not have my title back. I figure they have stolen property and they should be arrested.

I am going through the same type of issue. I have started a loan with them back in May 2011, they had me setup for automatic payments, but advised in a letter that I should go about making my payments manually until I receive a letter advising the process for automatic payments withdrawal was completed. Well the 20th of June came around, and my payment was due, and no letter, so I manually made the payment. I was not happy about it, but thought, well at least my July 2011 payment is taken care of. I checked back 2 weeks later and saw no payment due for the month of July 2011, so I figured everything is allright. As of today, I am one payment behind, and the title to my car has been released to them, but they have nothing to verify this, and DMV is not able to provide me any paperwork to confirm the release of the title for my car is in their name, and Wells Fargo should be abe to see this information internally. So now, my interest rates have gone up because they assume I have not taken responsibility to make the tile change, and I'm late on a payment, when I have records to prove money has been deducted. They absolutely want me to call them before they can rectify this, well maybe I am only sending messages because I need everything documented at this point. This is the worst treatment I have ever seen a business do to a customer. I have EVERY document to prove I am not late, I have changed the title of my car to their name and I am being treated like I am irresponsible. The automatic payments keep reappearing and disappearing, I'm not sure why it's so difficult. We're in the year of 2011 and an automatic payment switch can't function correctly? That's absurd!
overdraft scam
I made deposit on
05/13/11 atm cash deposit - 1400 east passyunk ave philadelphia pa [protected]
With around, but not less, 10$ already on it, with deposited 40$ made it 50$ all together.
48$ was to be spent on already set up automatic payments. After payments are processed I got an email from you stating that there was not enough money on my account and I am being charged 12.5$ for overdraft protection.
After talking to the bank representative and supervisor - david reger from minnesota bank (Totally uniformed supervisor) , I found out that some amount was transferred onto saving account by you (2 times 2$). Transfer was done without my knowledge, I was not informed about it. By doing it, transferring money to my savings account, you made my checking account not have enough money, and I was charged 12.5$.
So what you did... You transferred money from my checking account 2 times 2$, after those transfers there was not enough money on checking account to cover 48$ payments, but at the same time on my saving account was 4$ transferred. Then you covered checking account with my money that you transferred and charged me 12.5$!
You created 12.5$ profit and you want me to pay you?!
This behavior would offend my dogs intelligence.
When I made deposit at atm, asked about account to deposit money on, I specified my checking account not savings account.
By not having control over how much money is transferred after depositing and intervals
By not being informed of the transfer amount and timing, puts you & ndash; wells fargo in position of doing transfers at the time you need it so you can charge fees. This opens up wide field for manipulation.
If I deposit 50$ onto account to pay 48$ bill I should not be charged any overdraft fees since it was deposited enough money to cover all my payments. By transferring money to savings account without my approval and knowledge, with simple analysis of my automatic payments, you can transfer certain amount at specific time so you do not leave enough money on the account intentionally and charge fees. Like you did in my case.
This is scam!
I want my 25$ (2 x 12.5$) back.

WELLS FARGO is guilty of is the practice of paying out the largest amount due 1st-- NOT BUY WHEN THE DUE AMOUNT COMES IN. This means if you have used your debit card to get small amounts like $3 even if there 10 or 20 debits they will take the large amount leaving your account to pay $35. [ think that is the current charge --each bank is different could be more in others] for every tiny amount you have paid out BEFORE you paid the big debit. This can lead to 100s OF DOLLARS IN DEBT! They were --or currently in court because of this--a class action lawsuit against them --by multiple people. This has happened before and banks are forced to return the monies they took. It can amount to MILLIONS OF DOLLARS. If they do it enough people that can be a huge profit.
SO----- no matter who you bank with always look at your statement--and if you see the larger amount that may have come in days later---go to the bank and demand they correct the billing so you only get maybe 1 or 2 charges.
Hopes this helps some one.

Can understand your feelings---but you did owe the bank. And should have been aware that they would take their owed due 1st chance possible. Even if you owed a private debt it would be the same. On the morning of 1/29/2014 I paid my Verizon Bill of $50 online. In the afternoon of the same day, I checked my WF checking account and saw the $50 Verizon charge in Pending Transactions status. I took a screenshot and saved the file. On 1/30/2014 at 6PM PST, I checked my WF checking account and the $50 Pending charge is nowhere to be found, and my available balanced has increased by $50. I took a screenshot of that too! I checked my Verizon account and it shows paid. My cell phone works. Wells Fargo does this type of scam to all customers that fall under $100 balance on a month to month basis. It is their way to make money on overdraft / insufficient funds fees. Wells Fargo is hoping that most of us poor people are stupid and Hope we think we have more money than we really have. Obviously, it works or they would not do it! I have tracked this behavior for the last three months and every month my Verizon payment is there one day and gone the next. It can take up to 3-5 business days to post.
The problem is enrolling in "Overdraft Protection". Once this feature is in place, the bank approves all charges to your debit card, even if your account is overdrawn. When the account it is overdrawn by a debit card, maybe the customer isn't aware of an overdraw (it's easy to lose track of debit card transactions because there is no balance sheet). If there is a balance that does not cover the purchase, a debit card charge should be denied at point of purchase, ...unless you have "overdraft protection". Even if your balance is 1 cent or more in the red, with "overdraft protection" your debit card transaction will be approved and the next day you will find a bank service charges of $25.$35. for each time you use this card after overdraft occurs.
During the holidays, my Wells Fargo debit card was unknowingly over drafted (and approved for 3 Starbucks coffee ($4.75 each). The following morning I deposited $200. cash in the account. The flowing day, Wells Fargo deducted $35. for each cup of coffee ($105.) all because I signed up for "Overdraft Protection". If I didn't have "Overdraft Protection" in place, my card would have "denied" at the counter, and there would not have been any overdraft.
THE SOULUTION: DO NOT SIGN UP FOR "OVERDRAFT PROTECTION" ON YOUR DEBIT CARD PURCHASES.
They pulled the same scam on me - actually worse. I transferred money from my savings to my checking online just prior to paying a bill. On the 30th of the month - one day before I typically make a large deposit, they made an "overdraft transfer" for the amount that I paid and charged me $12.50 for the service. I had already made a transfer that they didn't credit to my account and then charged me an overdraft transfer fee. Additionally, they misreported my available balance so that it looked like I had available funds, but didn't.
I believe that Well Fargo is deliberately and knowingly engaging in a fraudulent scheme to cheat their customers. In my case, this had taken place once before, about a year ago, but I just brushed it off as my mistake. I personally have been very diligent in making sure I have a posted balance enough to cover any expenditures since that time.
Where is the FTC...?!?! I am sure that Wells Fargo is pulling the same scam on probably 100's or maybe 1000's of customers. They deliberately have their website setup to post incorrect information so that unsuspecting customers will overdraft and they can charge a fee. They also organize bank account transactions so that overdrafts are charged to an account prior to deposits.
I would like to see Wells Fargo investigated and their officers charged with colluding to defraud consumers. The authorities are not doing enough to protect consumers in this case.
People need to smarten up and start keeping minimal balances and using banks only when absolutely necessary. I advise putting all recurring charges on a credit card. If your credit is poor open a secured card and use it for everything.
No more overdraft fees. You build your credit and don't have to worry anymore.
As an added bonus you are afforded way more protection with a credit card account. If someone gets ahold of your info and uses it fraudulently the credit card company refunds you immediately. With banks like wells fargo you could be on the hook for the entire amount initially. Think about if a scammer got ahold of your checking account number and did 4 grand worth of charges. You would have to wait up to 60 days for them to investigate to MAYBE get your money back.
Screw banks.
^^^^same thing happened to me! banks are evil!
All large nationwide banks are scams. First, they caused our economic problems by INTENTIONALLY making mortgage loans they knew people couldn't pay. Then they took possession of the property, which they will sale to someone else for more than they originally charged, and since they had gobbled up every reputable bank they could, they extorted money from taxpayers because they were "too big to fail." To make up for profit shortfalls, they devised new ways to extract unreasonable fees from customers. In August 2009, for example, Consumer Reports stated that banks would make $32 BILLION on customer fees that year. They post checks and charges that come in before they post deposits, regardless of the chronological order that the events occurred. For example, U.S. Bank on Monday indicated in its online statement that a deposit had been made on Sunday and charges were made afterward. Tuesday, it had all been reversed to show the charges before the deposit. They charged the largest item first, which just the day before their own Web site acknowledged was purchased last, so that they could "bounce" six or seven smaller charges and charge me $35 per "overdraft" on money that had been deposited BEFORE the charges were made. They said that was their policy. To me, that's theft. It cost me $620 in overdraft fees for purchases made AFTER a deposit was made. It's safer to put your money in an open shoebox on the front lawn that to put it in one of the large, nationwide banks.
poor customer service
This is exactly what happened to me. I lost my job on 9/10 and while making a phone payment one day I heard a robo message that said I might be able to get help with my loan. It was the biggest mistake of my life.
The (first) rep that called me back (Andrew Berger) said that he could help and would send me the paperwork ASAP.
By 11/10 still not having received anything yet I called and of course his voice mail comes on, I decide to ask another rep and have to go through the whole identification process again.
I finally get the papers to fill out with a checklist and fill them all out and send them in.
I called about 3 weeks later and a rep explained that Andrew needed more paperwork, I explained to the rep that nobody had called and asked for any but she quickly replied we're asking you now. I spent money faxing 18 documents for $18 so that I could expedite the issue.
Again a couple of weeks go by and I call again just to be told that they needed more documents, by this time I'm in a bad mood to say the least.
I send in the supposedly last page and specifically ask the rep if that's it and she replies YES WE'RE GOOD TO GO.
A month goes by and nothing, I call Andrew 3 different times and always get his voice mail.
I finally call the main number and get another rep and have to identify myself all over again, the rep tells me Andrew is no longer with the company and there's a new rep working with my case her name is Yuen (not sure of spelling).
I contact my new rep and get her voice mail (what a surprise!) and left her my whole story.
She called me back surprisingly and heard about the whole story and would have an answer for me in 24 hrs.
Well when I did not receive a call back I called her and left her a message twice.
At this point 5/13/11 I decide to go to my local Wells Fargo bank to see if they can help me. The young lady got a hold of someone and handed me the phone. The rep asked if I could hold on so that she could locate my rep. She came back on 5 min later and told me that the rep was just terminated that morning.
I just lost it, the rep explained that her manager was in a meeting and could not help me but would call me back Monday with an answer for me.
Come this Tuesday 5/17/11 and still no answer I decided to call. Once again I have to tell my whole story to yet another rep (Susan SWK) and she tells me that a new rep has been assigned to me as of 9:41 am but she could not see the name or contact number yet.
She promised she would let them know the situation and have them call me ASAP.
Today 9/18/11 I get a phone call from rep number #3 (Adam S.) and as all the numerous reps before him proceeds to apologize and says he's here to help me out.
Now get this, they need the whole forms again since it's past the 15 - 30 day mark. I had to ask at this point without loosing my f...ing mind what about all the forms I sent in.
He tells me that they're no good and need to update them. He starts to explain to me what a loan modification was (something no one yet had explained to me) and from what I got from it was :
Ex: Monthly mortgage $977
Ex: Monthly after modification $177
Ex: Balance carried over $800
This goes on for 3 months after that if you're back to work and up to date your next payment is $977 plus balloon payment of $2400 ($800*3=$2400). ARE YOU KIDDING ME HOW DOES THAT HELP ME!.
Adam goes on to say that if you're still unemployed we can do another extension for the next 3 months and I quickly reply "then I will owe $4800 balloon payment right". He replies yes but...
I just tell him that if someone had told me this 8 months ago I would have NEVER asked for help. I told him to shove it all up their ### and hung up.
I called them back a few minutes later and spoke to Adam's boss (Josh) to ask him if this is a joke. He proceeded to repeat the same garbage and adding another tidbit.
They would not be able to help me right away because they have a backlog of foreclosures first to work on and since I was current I would have to wait for help or apply for a different plan.
So the jist I got is that unless you're in foreclosure they don't give a ### and if they do give a ### that kind of help is not helping you but them instead. I have 10 years left on this mortgage and I'll do the best I can but Wells Fargo can kiss my ###.
worse company ever
I purchased a car with my father as a co-signer using wells fargo auto finance. I had allstate as my insurance and wells fargo added balboa for collateral insurance. Unfortunately, the allstate insurance had a small lapse. What made things worse is during the small lapse, the vehicle began rolling down a driveway and smashed into a tree causing the vehicle to be totalled. Balboa paid wells fargo, but I was informed that I still owed over $1, 000. Wells fargo's collections began calling my father, who has been plagued with multiple illnesses trying to get money from him.
My mother told them time and time again that my father was sickly, but they refused to let up on the phone calls. Eventually, my parents had to file a complaint about receiving the calls. I tried to talk to wells fargo time and time again, only to be faced with the rudest people I have never had the pleasure in speaking with. How could I owe money for a vehicle that had been totalled, and paid for by balboa and still be responsible for payment?
Now the fun would begin. The vehicle, which was sitting in a driveway for over a year had vanished. I figured the wells fargo had finally removed it. More than three years later, my father tried to obtain a loan only to find out that wells fargo placed a "bad loan" on his credit report. Furthermore, wells fargo demanded the loan be paid in full. So now, wells fargo received money from the insurance company, took the vehicle, ruined my father's and my credit, and is still demanding money. I decided to call wells fargo once again on 5/17/11 and spoke to the rudest person ever, rubin, who began yelling at me, etc. I'm sitting here wondering if the call was recorded for educational purposes, if so, I can certainly understand why everyone is so disgustingly rude.
Now, if one should really think about it, why wouldn't the vehicle be considered repossessed? If that had happened, then wells fargo would have written the loan off. Instead, they have been holding this loan for over three years expecting to get paid. I feel as though they are nothing but a bunch of thieves. They accepted the insurance money, they took the vehicle and now they are ripping off the public. Guess it's time to contact the bbb, banking commissioner, my lawyer and perhaps the national news.
I pray for anyone that has to deal with any wells fargo product.

Unauthorized charge to my checking account
Checking my Wells Fargo bank account, I noticed two unauthorized charges to checking account on 5/16/11 (1) $57.61 and (2) $2.97. I have no idea who or for what these items are; nor were they ever authorized by me. I have no idea who or what this company is: AlliedW.com and especially I did not authorize these charges to be debited from my personal account. How this occurred, I have no idea! See attachment.

monthly service fee
Tow years ago we opened an account at wells fargo for ourserves and our son who lives and studies in another town so we can move funds to him. When we opened an account we were told to open savings and checking accounts for us and a checking account for our son and the minimum amount needed to have them for free (no monthly fee). Then we learned that the bank closed our savings account: they charged all the money in 10 monthly increments for monthly service. When we came to complained to our local branch we were told that our local branch does not have the entire history and we should call 800 number; at the 800 number we were told that the history in not available either and we need to see a manager at our local branch. We were also told that our checking account is fine and no monthly fee is required to maintain it. Guess what? today we got a statement with a monthly fee; called 800 # - and heard again: we do not have your history, go to the local branch... which I plan to do tomorrow. Now I am looking to what bank/credit bureau we can switch to get out wells fargo... Wells Fargo's business practices are bait and switch and unscrupulous.

savings and chequing account
To Whom It May Concern,
Hi I live in Vancouver and I brought my daughter to Provo (starting school) and open an account with Wellss Fargo. I have never had such a lousy bank ever in my life. I open a join account with my daughter and never have I thought that opening an account is so difficult. It took the customer service 1.5 hours just to open an account for us and answer only 5 questions out 10. Wells I can bear with it. I left Provo and came back to Vancouver. I access to the online banking and so far so good. I can put in money for my daughter and she can access it. Yesterday my daughter called me saying that she cannot use the ATM to get money and was told that her account was deactivated. It was devastating as she needs money. She called me and I tried to access through online and could not access. I called Wellss Fargo and try to resolve it. They told off that I do not have an account with Wellss Fargo. I am really up sad. My called was pass on to one customer service to another and it lasted 1 hour and nothing can be resolved. I then called the branch I open the account with and they was trying to investigate what happen to my join account. Wells after a 40 minutes investigation, they found out that my account violates the US government ruling. To cut it short the customer service personnel that help us open the account make a serious mistake. He put me as the primary holder and my daughter as secondary. It is such a stupid mistake that Wellss Fargo made. Wellss Fargo professes to be the best in that area and yet these things can happen. Wellss Fargo did not even contact me that they have sent my money back to me via mail. As my daughter needs money, I have taken a night flight to Utah and gave her the money she needs. Wellss Fargo is such a irresponsible bank and I am so disappointed with Wellss Fargo that put me through hell.
I demand an answer as to why I am not contacted when Wellss Fargo closes my account. Here is some information of my account.
Name of account: Ariel Mun Yi Chan and Hing Kain Chan
ATM number [protected]
If I am not getting a proper answer, I will make sure the whole knows how responsible Wells Fargo’s is.
PISS Off Customer,

Nope not at all. That is what the customer service personnel said. Infact I did record the conversation but I cannot post it here due to sensitivity.
As mentioned I have send mail to Wells Fargo San Francisco and Texas waiting for their response. I will need the audi for proof.
I even save my air ticket for the purpose. I am not asking much, I want to know why I am not contacted when they deactivate my account and also the customer service personnel, they are trained to open account. There are 38K students in that scholl and I am sure most of them have their account open there. So why are they making the mistake. My poor daughter was so afraid that she have no money. I am just frastrated.
I am not sure, but that is what I was being told bt Wells Fargo customer Service. I have submited my complain to the Wells Fargo Head Office in San Francisco and also in Texas. Will see what their response is.
I been on my son's accout for 5 years now he is at BYU and we are at Wells fargo, there is no US government ruling Period! This lady is just trying to pas you on to another Cust service person so she does not to deal with you and your problem. They out sorce the cust. service dept to india and mexico! I have my duaghters account on my wifes and I'm on my wife's too plus we have 2 more accounts for bills and stuff. We banked at wells fargo for 20 years now!
excessive return fees
I returned my five-year old leased vehicle to the required location which turned out to be an Auction House. I was told just to drop it off, they did not examine it in my presence. Next thing I know I get a $1, 800 bill from the Wells Fargo Auto Leasing -- of which $1, 400 was excessive wear and tear and $400 was their end of lease fee. I requested a copy of the idemized bill and they sent me a bill with over $4, 000 of items -- highlighted for billing were floor MAPS ($80 for 4 mats), TIRES ($640) OIL CHANGE $28 and the list goes on and on. There was ONE legitimate issue as there was a crack in my tail light -- I paid it. They keep HOUNDING me with multiple phone calls a day.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Why would you not witness the inspection? On any leased vehicle you are required to return it with good tires, no maintainence due, and everything in good condition.

Read full review of Wells Fargo and 26 commentsstole my money
I have been a customer of Wells Fargo for over a couple of years. I make normal deposits, with the normal direct deposit. I have my husband and I on a checking and savings account, my daughter a teen checking account, and our two boys cash cards; all are linked to my account. I went to the store on Saturday (day before Easter) and my card was denied, I kept trying all the others one linked to this account. I checked my balance via my mobile and money was in bank. I called customer service and I was told that all my cards and account were closed. I worried of course and called the fraud department because I am scared of someone hacking into my account. I could not believe what I heard. I spoke with three people in accounts and they were all supervisors and managers. I was told that I had two checks that I deposited (received from other people) that bounced and because this happened, they closed my accounts. After further discussing the issue with the three people, they finally all three said, "your account is closed, the money will not be returned until 10 working days from that day, and Wells Fargo no longer wants you as a customer." I SWEAR, up and down, this is exactly what was told to me. My money is still locked with these people, all the bills that were submitted were kicked back, and I am not allowed to touch my money with them until they have decided that my account transactions have been cleared. OH and of course, my three children did not get to celebrate Easter the way we always do. I will never, ever, use Wells Fargo for anything and I am passing the word of just how crooked they are to my friends, family, and to who ever reads this.

I put $10,000 in my savings. Had a mild stroke and never touched my money. It was an emergency fund. After recovering from my medical problem. I was in the bank with my mom. So I got an unction to check my account. I was told I had no money. After months of reviewing bank statements and calling customer service. They blamed me for withdrawing from the atm. Never got my money back
-I had an account at wells fargo for 9 months. It was one of those second chance accounts with a lot of restrictions.
In that period I had one overdraft that I paid for and was in good standings. It was a large deposit and would have taken 1
week to clear. I talked to a banker about getting off of probation and stepping up to a regular account. He got on his computer and
exclaimed " yes you can open a regular account at this time, congratulations ! ( I'm serious ). He said all we need to do is get the check back that I
deposited and open the new account with the required savings account to go with it. He closed out my old account deactivated my ATM
card and opened the new accounts. With this new set up the funds from my deposit would be available in 2 days. 2 days later I return to the bank
a different branch with my checkbook and my drivers license. I explain that I don't have an ATM card yet and that was no problem. I withdrew 1000 and transfered 3k into my landlord's account, No problem . 2 days later I return to the bank for money to pay back my friend for
using his ATM card to purchase 49ers tickets. It was all the money he had and it was already spoken for.. I assured him that I had him covered
and wouldn't hang him out to dry. This time the teller says thay can't let me have money without 2 forms of ID. I told her I was here 2 days ago with only 1 form of ID without any issues. If nothing else you would think they could check my signature to validate my identity since my CDL
wasn't good enough for their tight security. Now they say there is some other problem with your account why don't you go sit down with the
banker while she figures out what's going on. After a conversation she had with "them" she reported to me that they have put a hold on my account and would have to call an 800 # for some explanation
I said no I will go talk directly to the banker that opened the account. He said that loss prevention found something on checksum or some reporting co. and they had an issue with my social security number (even though it was my debt they found with that number. I said this is ridiculous just give me my money back and I will take my business elsewhere. Nope sorry there is a 10 day hold on both accounts and after that period they will mail a cashiers check to the address on the accounts. Even though they were concerned about my identity enough to hold my money but apparently after 10 days they don't care who they mail a check to. I said I need that money it's every penny I have to my name.
I'll get my social security card and that should clear up any doubt. That is not good enough for them, they want me to go to social security and get a note from them stating that the number is indeed mine. I said how in the hell are they going to know who I am anymore than you do you must be joking. I am still waiting out the sentence on my moneys jail time. I told them that if they can mail me a cashiers check they can just as easily give me the cash I'm not going to wait another 2 weeks for the check in the mail routine. I'm not going to go into all the problems I have had and how much this is going to cost me when it's all said and done. I could be starving to death for all they know and the fact is that they just don't give a f---k about me or my welfare. I have an urge to go down and protest the injustice in front of the bank and exercise my freedom of speech, which is about the only thing I can afford right now. Thanks Wells Fargo you giant A holes

I have a Navy Federal Credit Union checking and savings account and they do the same thing. So, to get around this idiocy I simply use two checking accounts and transfer money between them instead of between savings to checking.
