bed bugs
I am a timeshare owner at Westgate resorts. I had my wedding at the Myrtle Beach location February 2016. Two of my guests were bitten by bed bugs. They were given a voucher for $20 and was moved to a different room.
I just stayed at the Orlando location-Town center with my family 8/27/17-9/3/17 . I was bitten by bedbugs and had a bad reaction. I gave a complaint to security and we had to pack up and move in the middle of the night to another building. We needed to dry and wash our clothes to be sure that we did not take bugs with us to the new room. The dryer was missing the lent catcher and could not work. We had to wait for a replacement part the next morning. I was given a $25 voucher for the inconvenience.
I am reporting bedbug experiences in 2 different resort location in 2016 & 2017. I pay my mortgage and fees. I have been mentally distraught since this incident and the marks are still healing. I do not want to be an owner of property that has unclean and poor environmental control of the property, especially the beds.
A voucher should not be a solution of apologizing for an issue that is a threat to home life because the bugs could have came home with my friends, family or me. I am seeking a refund of paid mortgage last month. I will also like to learn how I can cancel my deed and no longer to be a Westgate owner. I am seeking a better solution then what was provided.
hotel
Check in was very smooth and the lady was very pleasant and nice. After checking me and my husband was walking to our room we got stopped by an hotel associate that signed us up for a 90 minute tour of the hotel so we agreed. So when we finally got up to our room we checked the bed for bed buds that was good, but the tub was dirty with hair in it the shower door was hanging on and was also dirty, the bathroom sink was dirty and counter had a lot of white marks on it. The tub was also out dated the room was very dark and one light didn't work, the tv remote didn't work either. Our room was very far from the main entrance, you had to pay $75 to sit on a canopy which is ridiculous they wear also dirty no beyond dirty, the pool had a big crack in I cut my foot so I didn't get in the pool but only one day! We got stuck on the elevator which they didn't fix until the next morning! So when we went back to the 90 minute tour we waited for an hour and 3 minutes we had to say something to the workers because we were tried of waiting they guy was cool but the women was rude and didn't want to give us our $40 back for the tour that we didn't see and waited for I had to write a statement about that just to get a refund then I was trying to tell the guy about the room he brushed me off so I said forget it. It was our 3rd anniversary celebration and our 1st time to visit together and it was terrible for the most part we stayed at planet Hollywood all day and night! Toilet ran all night wish for a refund!
scam
This is a HUGH scam. July 2017 we visited the Westgate Resort Las Vegas during the presentation the sales people presented us with an upgrade opportunity. We made the big mistake of thinking we were getting a good deal on a upgrade but wind up getting a false contract for Vacation Traveler/Leisure Time Passport. We were lied to by the sales people. Now this company is expecting us to pay for something that we did not agree to purchase. Be aware of the shady presentations presented by Westgate Resorts.
customer service department
Everytime I call customer service to speak to someone in regards to my account I have to be transferred at least 3 times to get me to the right person. Then on top of that I always end up speaking to someone that does not speak good english or they cannot understand what I am saying. I always get someone who just trys to sell me something else instead of actually listening to what I am calling about (so much for the title customer service). They are always rude and rushing off the phone and I would never let anyone represent my company that acted in such a manner. I literally hate Westgate Resorts as a company and I will never let any of my friends or family get tied in with you all it is the absolute worst experience I have ever had with a resort. There is no concern for the customer at all, all they want is to con you into signing contracts or paying some type of money. What do I need to do to talk to a normal person that can tell me what to do to solve the problems I am having with my account. I need to speak to someone with some power not just a representative that is only going to try and get a payment out of me. I need a real customer service experience for once please!
customer service
Young female employee that worked at 4 PM to 12 AM shift parked in a guest parking spot in front of the registration center. When asked several times if that was an employee vehicle parked there with no resort pass on it the night crew lied and said no. Finally they stated that was her parking spot and said that it was her first day and they are able to park there if a spot is open. After moving her vehicle she then parked in 10 minute parking area! The employees also called the police on us because we took video of them in the front lobby to document what was happening !
from the moment we arrived!
We stayed at Westgate Lakes. From the moment that we arrived till the moment that we left we were treated horrible! We were snapped at, yelled at, denied our room key our 1st night, left strandedn had eyes rolled at us. Our fridge broke, or dryer was broke, I was in tears when I insisted on talking to a supervisor. We feel taht Westgate Lakes DESTROYED our Orlando vacation. Nobody calls back. NOBODY cares how westgate treats people! This waa the worst vacation ever.
timeshare
I bought a timeshare through Westgate in May of 2016, my story is the same as many others who were lured by offer of cheap tickets to Orlando attractions.Do not fall for this scam! Salespeople are like snake oil salesman who smooth talk you into buying something without pointing out the true costs of owning, which include outrageous fees for hoa and maintenance.
Rather than telling you upfront, they bury these details in 30 plus pages which you can not get out of.
This whole process is a nightmare which no sane person should ever approach.DO NOT BUY WESTGATE TIMESHARE.
If there is anyone out there who is filing a class action against this company please inform the buyers.
westgate town center in orlando florida
I was offer a trail package for westgate travel club which was one week stay at any westgate resort so I chose the town center in Orlando Florida I paid 1095 dollars for this trip I checked in April 30 2017 which was a Sunday by Monday night into Tuesday morning my husband got up to get something to drink and saw roaches in the kitchen I was devastated I couldn't believe that i paid that much to stay in a roach motel i am very disappointed I feel like I should get at lease some of my money back this is not a 5 star resort with roaches I told the people at the front desk they gave me another room with roaches I will never visit another westgate resort I came to Florida last year I stayed in a hotel cheaper that what I paid here and I did not see any roaches I'm so upset that I'm leaving two days early than i'm suppose to in the end I am losing because I expected this to be a beautiful experience the best of everything but you did not live up to my expectations so I decided not to buy or visit again
holiday fee of $250 and dates to book not available
We are new owners in Las Vegas (June 2016). Two weeks ago we tried to book our days at the resort for the last part of December about eight months in advance. When we gave them the dates we wanted they said these dates are not available. We were told specifically over and over there will be no blackout dates and that if we book in advance we will get the dates we want. I am furious, this is the first time since buying that we have tried to book it. I call back and this time the dates are available but there would be a $250 Holiday fee! Is this for real? Why were we never told this? When we were being "courted" to buy this property THIS WAS NEVER MENTIONED! This is not listed in our contract anywhere. I called the guy who sold it to us, but of course Charlie will not return my phone call. I feel that we were ripped off, promised something that we can't get. Please help, who can I contact before I decide to get an attorney? Thank you
rooms/service on last vacation
We are owners at westgate Smokey Mountains. My sister and I share 4 bedroom units, we upgraded and purchased in 2016. I understand that the fire was out of your control. We were notified that our units would not be ready and that if we did come for our reservation, they were not sure they could even keep us in the same building. We travel/meet together every year for Springbreak. We were told the only other 4 bedroom avail was at Orlando Lake Resort. The rooms are not anywhere as nice as our units in Tn, this were VERY disappointing...There was only 1 washer/dryer for 15 people. Only one unit had a kitchen. My sister was very upset, that they didn't get the same as I did, when we all pay the same. We were never acknowledged as Owners, other than our passes for the cars.
We only get one vacation a year together and this one was just not the same. We were also told that our units in TN would not be ready for 15 more months, which means we will not be able to stay there again next year. I asked about Myrtle Beach and was told Owners can not use the New building Ocean front room during the spring or summer...This was also disappointing as I have seen those rooms. We were going to reserve Orlando Town Center for next year, but the rooms are still not the same.
I am so upset that this was so disappointing and it has cause a family split as my sister wants to sell. I am not sure what you can do for me to make this right?

timeshare ownership
I have been an owner of a Westgate timeshare in Gatlinburg, TN for over 12 years. I have tried numerous times to get out of it. High pressure sales tactics were used, promises made and not kept, poor service, and sales pressure continues when you stay. It is more pleasant to stay at a Motel 6. I want out. I am interested in joining a class action lawsuit.
timeshare/leisure vacation rental scam!!!
We were suckered in with complete lies in July 2016 with WESTGATE TOWN CENTER time share scam in Orlando, FL.
I went to book my vacation today 2/3/2017 and
1. Dates where take so we have to with the alternative
2. instead of the promised 8 weeks vacation deals to use in 2 years that (Porcha our timeshare representative informed us), when we called to book we only have ONE week in 2 years not the promised 8!
3. Plus she informed us that we had 2 years to pay off and use at any time. ALL LIES. We have to pay 30 in full our package before use.
Shame on us for not reading the fine print and believing Porcha. A good liar by the way. In fact her number is [protected], as she so kindly requested we call her with any concerns. So anyone with concerns pls call her!
So we booked our Disney TRIP as we don't want to loose our $1000 that we paid as it is too late to cancel. I hope once we get there that there are no other issues. Please don't believe this scam as we did. Lesson learned!
sales
My name is Russ and was given a tour of your Lakes property in May of 2015. After the tour we were given several options of time shares. None fit what we were looking for. As we were departing, our sales agent # 31485, Carlos stopped us short and said he had a deal for us that we could not pass up. We stopped and listen to him explain to us, Carlos was able to give us Five Weeks for 995.00. My wife and I walked back to his table. He pulled out a sheet that had several resorts listed, and he started circling what resorts were available to us. He told us the only issue was that it had to be used within 30 months. My wife did not think that we could get all five in within 30 months, but Carlos said with 2 weeks per year, it could be done easily. Carlos started going over the contract that was on a small tablet having me initial here and there with my finger. About half way thru we stopped and said this sounds to go to be true. That each week would only be 200.00, and we asked Carlos how that would be possible? Carlos said that Westgate wanted us to try out several Westgate properties to find one that would be a good fit, and this would give Westgate the ability to make the final sale after we found out how well run the resorts were. The sales floor supervisor Nilson approached and welcomed us to the family. Carlos had me finish with the tablet and sign the credit card receipt. Carlos came back with a packet that included our contract, and vacation traveler welcome information. He showed us the 800 number to call when we were ready to start with our first week and then walked us to the elevator, and we both left with a smile on our face.
We booked our first reservation at the Town Center, ready to do Universal! A few weeks later we decided to book our second week in South Beach in October, this is when the bombshell dropped. The operator asked if I wanted to cancel the week in Orlando and book the week in South Beach? I explained the I wanted to use my second week in South Beach! Silence on the other end of the phone for a moment. The operator than said, Ohhh, your other four weeks are with Leisure Time Passports, I will give you a code, and you can log on, then you can book your other weeks at a discounted rate. I expanded that Carlos sold us 5 weeks, not one week. I took the code and looked up South Beach properties as well as the Key West area. With the discount each week was about a thousand dollars for the week.
I arrived at the Town Center this week, and have meet with several Westgate employees. Each very nice and wanting to help. Please talk with this person, Ect… Tatiana from the town center told us to call corporate, that they would be able to help, but ask for a manger and don’t let them hang up until you had a chance to give the manager detail of the events. The operator told me that the manager was not at her desk and that I could leave a voice mail. I demanded that I talk with a manager and not to hang up the call. I was placed on hold and after 20 minutes I person from the Lakes answered and explained that our sales agent Carlos was on vacation this week and should be back next week, that for an issue of this nature we should call corporate, I explained that I was on hold with corporate, and that I was transferred to her. Eventual, a manager from another property, after another 20-minute hold, came on the line and explained that the contract was for 7 nights, and that this is what Westgate will stick to. I let her know that I do have some liability in this matter, but having a sales agent lie to you to just make a sale is a bad business practice. She again said, sorry you feel that way, but the contract states… I told her that if she has the last word on this, then I was going tell my experience to everyone that I run into this week while at Westgate. She then said, she was going to report this up her chain! I said good, that is what I want her to do. Someone at Westgate can make this right. If not just for me, but to ensure that someone else is not blatantly lied to, just so Carlos can make a sale. I hope this letter finds it’s into the right hands of someone that can do something about this. I know it is easy after the sale to just give up on the customer, and why not, you already have our money in your pocket. Just know that I want to work with Westgate to come to a reasonable resolution, and that I will make this experience (good or bad) know to everyone that will listen.
I can get you out of this mess if you want. [protected]
I am sorry to hear about your experience.
timeshare
We have been unhappy owners for 4 years. What a scam and ripoff. We can never go anywhere we want even with a years notice! I read a complaint on another site and called the company they suggested (Timeshare Discharge) it took the 3 months but they were able to get us out. If you own at Westgate, or I guess anywhere, try them, we got our release yesterday and couldn't be happier. Goodbye Westgate.
I'm a owner at Westgate Villas have been since 1994 and can't wait to say good bye. Last time I used my week was maybe 3 or 4 years ago, horrible
experience. I work up with palomino bugs crawling on my arm (giant roaches). There attitude with me was unbelievable, they gave me 2 25.00
food vouchers to eat on the premises. Time to get out. So glad you did.
timeshare
My husband and I were scammed in to buying a timeshare with westgate, we were fed a whole bunch of lies, nothing they said was the truth. They never tell you about all of the hidden fees. I would love to be a part of a class action lawsuit. My email address is [protected]@gmail.com, please contact me if you are also interested in a lawsuit.
former employee
To whom this may concern, I was an employee at the Myrtle Beach Visitor's Center on Hwy. 76 with Westgate Resorts as an OPC from [protected]. I was one of their top bookers and I started to notice that there was money being taken out my check for various unexplainable reasons. I even went weeks without a check which is just ridiculous. One of the reasons I was given as to why I didn't get a check was because one of the customers was a owner at Westgate that was behind on payments, which I was unaware of. Another reason I was told as to why I didn't get paid was because a customer didn't do their obligation of 90 minutes. I then took it upon myself to contact the customer and asked them what John Sprinkle(Manager at Westgate Resorts in Myrtle Beach, SC) said was true and they said it was not that they were there a total of 2 hours and was highly pressured and insulted when they stated that they were not interested at the moment. Now this has happened several times with the tours that I booked, as well as my former employees at that time. It just seemed like the more we booked the more money they took out our check and if I as an employee do my obligation and meet all my requirements then I should get paid, not punished for what the customer chooses to do. It has brought to my attention that my former employees were reimbursed for the money that Westgate has taken from them and I feel I deserve the same because that is considered stealing in my eyes and I work hard to get what I have. It's just wrong how Westgate does their employees, after all what would Westgate be without the employees their to sell their product? I really hope that this gets to the right person because I have been trying to file a complaint on Westgate Resorts for a while now. Feel free to email me at p.[protected]@yahoo.com. Thank you.

I would like to join a class action lawsuit against Westgate Resort Gatlinburg TN . Westgate Resort lied about the details of the timeshare that I purchased. They have also lied about an offer that they made to me to do a "Voluntary Deed Buy Back" . Now they are using a lawyer to contact me with threats of a lawsuit against me for non payment . This ha...

Rec'd call from an alleged Eric Braunstein of TES, 110 W 9th Street, Wimington, Del - telephone # [protected] re sale of timeshare. Since we had put our name on a list sometime ago to sell timeshare, we listened to his sales pitch, stating he had buyer and at some point he emailed a $25, 200 purchase agreement supposedly signed by Judith Morgan - 43 Driftwood Lane, Trumbull, CT Needing time to think about it, we agreed to call back. An address/telephone website lists the above name, address and phone number which I called [protected]). Did not leave a message. Checked a website and saw profile for Eric Braunstein, real estate broke in Wilmngton. Returned call to Braunstein who instructed me how to send $3900 as a green dot money pack from our local WalMart. This was to pay for title search, transfer, etc. and that $3900, once transfer took place, would be refunded within one week. I sent the $3900 as instructed and later even questioned via email if payment was rec'd. Payment was acknowledged. Called Eric Braunstein on 5/23 who disclaimed knowing anything about TES and not involved with timeshare sales. Also tried to call J. Morgan and left message to return call. PLEASE ADVISE
Never pay an up-front fee in an effort to sell your Timeshare! Whether the fee is called an appraisal fee, a market analysis fee, a marketing fee, an advertising fee or some other type of fee, the result, historically, has been the same for all who have reported here about their experiences. The resale of a timeshare is a legitimate business. Companies agree to advertise a timeshare for a fee on their websites. As with advertising, the membership doesn´t need to sell in order the fees to be legitimate. The difference between an honest timeshare resale company and a scam, is when the company falsely suggest they have a buyer waiting for their timeshare, or picture unrealistic, overoptimistic selling possibilities. I recommend you to read this article on how to get out of a timeshare resale scam:

we fought westgate & won!!!
This is actually good news... I was very worried that I would too remain a victim of this timeshare company after reading so many bad scam reviews after I already signed...
I am pleased to say that I have successfully cancelled a westgate contract for a loan assumption & got my full refund for my down payment of $1, 789.00
We were lied to & told that we had a rescission period of 5 days. We signed the contract september 2, 2012. After mailing back all their materials on the 3rd day express mail with delivery confirmation; I sent multiple letters to westgate, their corporate office, the better business bureau, my bank & cancelled my debit card to prevent further transactions...
At 1st a westgate rep called me to "resolve" the matter & insisted I couldnt prove I was told a rescission because the document was omitted from the keepsake binder they gave us at the last minute as we were literally pushed out the door. So I called their bluff & said ok no biggie, i'll just sue for the money & attorney fees & pain/suffering in court.
The representative stated she would call me back (september 27th) which she did; however she informed me that she was told by the director not to cancel & the property would foreclose. Again... No biggie... I'll just sue
Today, october 5, 2012 I received a call from the same rep in the corporate office in florida confirming that the contract would be cancelled & the full refund to be received within 3 weeks.
I recorded all the conversations on my cell phone... Documented everything & made sure to get full names included within my complaint & praise god we won!
