harassment and intimidation by a staff
Date of incident: June 6, 2016
Harassment by a fruit and vegetable Woolworth sale attendant.
Monday is shopping day for me and I take delight with shopping. Woolworth in Springwood, in Logan Qld. is one of the shops I always visit. I enjoy bargain hunting, it is a help to our budget as pensioners. As my usual practice, I got the $3.00 bag for my veges and fruits. After I finished packing the bag one of the sale assistants came and accosted me saying that I should only get enough to allow the ends of the bag tied up. When I said "i can" he said" show me". I was quite annoyed with his approach, I felt humiliated because this was done in the presence of other customers. I also never had this experience with other sales assistants. I felt so bad that I felt like throwing all what I had in the bag to the floor. I restrained myself from what I was thinking to do.While I was in the bread section I overhead the same man who harassed and intimidated me, charming a little girl saying that his name was Terry and even offering the little girl an apple to eat. I was wondering how discriminatory Terry is compared to his treatment of me compared to this little girl. After paying my groceries, i asked to speak to the manager of the shop. The manager apologized for the conduct of the sales attendant. I discussed to the manager that a sign should be placed in the area for the $3.00 . I also said to the manager that Terry should have exercised courtesy in his dealing with me as a customer by saying that I could do it this time but not next time. Honestly, Woolworth is really gaining by selling what "throw away" veges and fruits with the $3.00 bag. It is a win win situation for Woolworth because it is waste turned to cash and should at least thank the customers who buy this groceries. I have also concerns that this man Terry will do the same to other customers who are not of the white race like me. I am also concerned of his dealing with little girls.
survey
I am being asked on Facebook to do a survey regarding a second site for Woolworths and am being offered a $1000 voucher. I think this may be a scam but now cannot escape either with my back arrow or X . My Facebook page is jammed. What is it? What can I do?
chef's night off potato topped chicken pie
I purchased this pie yesterday 26/5/16 looking for a nice easy meal to serve to our family of 4 last night. Packaging said chunky chicken with carrots onion & celery in gravy topped with creamy mashed potato. Well it should have been called a mashed potato pie with a sprinkling of slivered chicken, more carrots than anything else in a runny juice as it didn't at all resemble the description. The chicken portion was around 1cm thick, if that in places, & was topped by at least 2.5cm of a hard mash potato that wasn't creamy in the least & sucked every ounce of juice out of the chicken as it heated through. So bad only half was consumed with most of that thrown away anyway. $10 of rubbish!
racist advertising
As an Indigenous Queensland woman, I find the advertisement on TV for Indigenous Australians getting jobs at Woolworth's very offensive...
Why was the last advertisement on Woolworth's employment all about young ones (still at school) starting at Woolworth's as a starter job, with proud parents thrown in, which is fair enough...
Why then this new advertisement of all indigenous Australians, all older than school age and seemingly starting their first job?
Does Woolworth's thinks this is the only jobs indigenous adults are capable of?
Does Woolworth think it is ok for the young ones to work at Woolworth's as a starter/part-time job but indigenous adults should be thankful for a job at Woolworth's and think of it as a career?
You can never please everyone all the time. I find such racist complaints very distasteful. To me it says more about the complainant than the particular instance mentioned. If you can only look for the negative in everything you'll always find it. Think positive for a change.
brunswick sardines in spring water
To whom it may concern,
We have been eating Brunswick Sardines in Spring Water for many years and on occasions we had a tin that was to sub standard. However, recently we ordered eight tins online, with Barcode No. [protected], best before date Jan 2019 and a code I do not understand, 6008CBUXX, and everyone has been awful to say the least. The sardines have been dry, hard and unappetising, bordering on inedible. We ordered via [protected]@bigpond.com approximately 3 weeks ago.
We realise that the quality control is beyond Woolworth's control and is Brunswick's issue, however we feel strongly enough to write and inform you that this problem exists.
We have thrown out the remaining 7 tins of Brunswick Sardines in our pantry and are unlikely to order them again.
Yours sincerely,
Ian Anderson
milk choices (lack of)
I regularly shop at the Ashmore (Gold Coast) store and the last 2 days I have been unable to get Pauls 2 Litre milk.
The shelf now has their own cheaper brand.
They do still have other Pauls items like Zymil and and others but not the popular 2 litre milk.
Yesterday I did take the Norco instead but not any more.
I do hope that they come to realise that this is hurting our dairy industry badly.
I don't know where the other products are made and I'm definitely not in the dairy business myself.
I do wish that Woolworths and other retailers would have the same interest in looking after our dairy industry rather than just dollars.
Board room accountants should have no say in this matter.

deli and platters
sat 21st may my partner went in to pick up platters at Robina store for our engagement party for 120 people, he arrived to find out that our order form had been lost so no platters were made, my partner was already super stressed at the time and funny thing he remember the guy that took the order and it was actually the guy that was serving him on the day but was absolutely denying it to cover his own ... we had over 500$ in platters and sushi . my partner rang me in stress which then put more stress on me and my family . the manager of Woolworths was called and was so rude to my partner wouldn't even give us a discount for our inconvenience and pretty much said oh we can do some up but will be no sushi and u need to come back . this not only is so unprofessional it put my partners and my day out because he then had to go back and pick them up and take to venue making him late to our engagement party. We also then didn't have enough food so had people last minute making things . im absolutely disgusted in the service and how it was dealed with .i will not be using Woolworths again or referring people there .
glitch on checkout number 3 plus enter equals 3 pkt avocados
Last night I went to Kawana Woolworth's to buy a few items. The checkout operator said the amount was $46.77 then I went to pay and the total amount was $51.87. So I glanced up at the checkout operator screen and I saw there was an item on the list that I hadn't purchased - Avocado Select 3 PK $4.90. I questioned this and the check out operator said "I don't know how they got on the list?". She sent me to the customer service desk, where the $4.90 was refunded to me. Apparently this 'glitch' is a well known amongst some check out operators. It occurs when the check out operator accidentally touches the number 3 and then presses enter. Easy to do as you move your fingers across to enter. Small issue, but annoying! How many other people have been charged for Avocado Select 3 PK? Another sneaky way to make more money? Or pure IT accidental glitch. Lesson ... check your dockets to make sure you are paying for the correct items!
If they corrected your over ring, why is this a complaint? Sounds like good customer service to me.
alicia rudd
A woman employed by Woolworth's collects the survelliece footage on two occasions I have Seen her intimidating and terrorizing a young single mother she works for Woolworth's and approached a woman who was alone and threatened and abused her I witnessed this on two occasions as I am local I see this as unacceptable behaviour from your employees especially when the victim was clearly alone and quite scared of this woman whatever issues Alicia rudd has with an individual should not be dealt with on the property where she works or the company she works for
Account
Good day
I don't appreciate how my situation was dealt with, I want to close my account, today I went to Woolworths to buy clothing only to find out that the was a transaction pending or made on my account. Three days (07/05/2016) ago I had gone to another branch in Heidelberg Mall to purchase buy because I didn't have my identification with me I asked to cancel it but today (10/05/2016) as I am trying to buy it says I don't have enough credit. The manager was so rude and impatient, it was unprofessional and I am terminating my account.

stale food - kransky from deli
To whom it may concern,
I am here to complain about the stale food purchased from the deli display section in Ellenbrook Woolworths supermarket on 6 May 2016.
I bought some double smoked primo kranskies that day. When I got home I opened the pack and about to give some to my son for lunch. Then I noticed a bad smell from the plastic bag. The kranskies were actually sticky and smelly and were definitely past the sell-by date. I checked the product label trying to find the production date or used-by date, but there were no such information. I am very disappointed by this shopping experience. I didn't go back to the shop for exchange or money back because I didn't want to waste my time. I would like to remind the staff in this shop to remember the words used in woolworths ads "FRESH FOOD PEOPLE", and do what you are supposed to do to keep food fresh.
Disappointed,
Zhuming Liu

price misleading/ false advertising.
Found some chicken wings on sale at Woolworths today, ticket clearly shows the special price $1.60 but got charged at double the price. Asked to speak with the store manager (Chris) but his excuse was that they can't sell the chicken wing at the special price because it's fresh from the back and it's co. Policy that they can't sell it to me. (I have asked for 12 kg, and they've weighted it already) when I ask where does it say on the ticket and show me the co. policy but only got told that I was being rediculus.
Woolworths, you've let your customers down once again, though I'll try shop from you guys again but after today's experience think it's better for us all to shop at Coles instead.
Dodgy store manager
cigarettes
I purchased two cartons of Benson & Hedges Classic cigarettes in April one carton was correct the second cartoon was the wrong type I did not realise the second was the wrong ones till after I opened them I took them back to the store and was told because the cartoon was opened they could not be exchanged as it was company policy. Sometimes when I ask for a cartoon of Benson & Hedges Classic they do not have a cartoon but give them to me in 25 packets to make up the cartoon how come they can do this and I cannot return the ones I was given by your store as the wrong ones They are very expensive just to throw away as I cannot smoke them I felt if the manager was anyone at all he would have replaced them instead of being rude about this I purchase two cartons every two weeks which costs over $420 surely some compromise could be made when your store where the ones to make the mistake in the first place also the assistant did not give the receipt for this purchase I will not be returning to your store again I also use to shop there but no more I would like a reply to this complaint I happen on the 23rd April at Mt Pleasants Store

Just in case you weren't aware, but it is actually illegal in Australia to get a refund on smokes that have already been opened. Was bad that they gave you the wrong smokes, but not Woolies fault for not refunding.
customer service
On the 31.03.2016 I bought a pair of shoes at woolworths in musgrave center durban, I wore the shoes for one week and I realise that the sole was breaking.at the time I could not return the shoes because I was swamped with work.on the 24.04.2016 I returned the shoes at Woolworths west street branch when I arrived there I showed the lady who was assisting me at the customer service counter the shoes that were broken she asked if I still have the slip I said no I did not have the slip.she then went and consulted with her manager and she came back and told me that they can't help me because they don't know whether iam telling the thruth that I have bought the shoes on the 31.03.2016, I then told the lady that I have used my debit card to purchase the shoes they can call musgrave store and give them my card number and musgrave store can pull out my slip on electronic journal and fax to them, the lady told me she can't do it I must do that myself or return the shoes in musgrave branch.I was very shocked with th service I have received because Woolworths refund policy clearly state that if you have bought an item that have a quality issue they will gladly replace it or give you a refundand if you don't have a till slip you will get your refund on a gift card and you can return anything within 60days of purchase but non of that happened to me but my integrity was being questioned. Now i'm sitting aat home with a broken pair of shoes and my money was not refunded to me all I want is my money back .iam very disappointed with Woolworths as they always talk about quality and style and and they always offering exceptional customer service but at west street durban branch they did not represent anyo that.right now I'm mad as hell I want my money before end of thiss week.
Moral of the story? Don't buy your shoes from Woolworths :-)
Grilled chicken
I hereby want lay a complaint that their is no grilled chicken available at Woolworth's Brits. We buy every Sunday one or Two chickens because they are tasty. A few people were very angry totay because there was non.
Then I want to know why Woolworts Brits do not sell small sauge rolls. The children love it and when we want to buy some we have to go to Harties Brits.
Woolworths in Brits is nelected because it is not a big store as in the city.

Deli hot dogs
I bought these Friday morning and put them away in the fridge as soon as I got home (I left the shopping centre as soon as the items were paid for and loaded in my car and I live 5 minutes away from the shopping centre).
I went to use them the next day for lunch and they were slimy and putridly smelly at that time.
The experience of asking for my money and compensation was annoying in itself but the real reason I am posting this is because those hot dogs were health hazards from the moment I bought them and the management is allowed to get away with selling items which have obviously expired. This practice should be publicly exposed.
Decomposing chicken drumsticks ( Green)
The date of this incident was 23/4/2016 at 15.00pm, whereupon having received delivery of our online grocery order it was noted quite obviously that a 3 kilogram portion of chicken drumsticks ordered was in a state of decomposition accompanied by an acrid stench when opened.
At 6 pm approx the same afternoon i registered a complaint by phone to Woolworths customer service, during which i explained in a restrained manner that the product delivered, could, if ingested have resulted in serious illness or death and that the operator should take immediate steps to recall and/or notify any other recipients of this contaminated material and suspend further distribution.
The operator was sincere concerned and understood the gravity of the complaint and assured me that the matter would be attended to immediately and full refund would be credited to my wife's account.
This morning 24/4/2016 i phoned to request that the offending product be disposed of by Woolworths in a responsible manner ( being a bio-hazard) and that the stench that was permeating our refridgerator. i also indicated that i would be contraveneing health and safety regulations by attempting to dispose of this in bins share by the 18 other occupants of our unit block,
or by disposal in public bins etc. The Woolworths employee on the phone steadfastly refused to assist or retrieve said item, and that the earliest they could re-negotiate the matter was the 25 or 26th april 2016.
This in my opinion is a serious breach of customer safety and should be responsibility of Woolworths to rectify. I will never again order chicken or meat products from Woolworths, and likely not eat chicken either as the memory smell of that chicken will remain giving me a permanent aversion to chicken products. I'm "Disgusted" at this treatment and horrified that consuming such could have resulted in either hospitalization or death, and that the matter was fobbed off as it was, i will not rule out bringing this to the attention of the media and or seeking legal advise on this matter if not attended to immediately.
Lucas and Vivienne Semple,
Unit 2 /14 Oliva street Palm Cove Queensland 4879.
staff member
I would like to ask the question, why don't woolworth store's make drug testing compulsory not only on the large scale but more directly at the nhulunbuy store. Senior staff members that are heavy drug uses have off days and are quite irritable and have no time for customers on there good days the opposite very helpful.
Senior staff members have benefits such as housing and salary bonuses and more often than not have access to the store and [censored]house after hours.
As representatives of the store should it be allowed that heavy drug uses can not only hold a management position but also be able to continue in that roll. It does reflect badly on all departments within the store and the big question is why doesthe store manager continue to allow her staff to remain employed full knowing what is going on.5615
customer service self service checkout
To whom it may concern,
I had an awful experience with a customer service women yesterday approximately 11:35am. This woman asked to check my bag which I did so promptly & politely. I had purchased the same product at Coles 10mins prior & could not locate my receipt. The woman was extremely rude took my Coles purchased items off me. She snapped & said I could not have the items till I could produce a receipt from Coles. I was quite taken back & disappointed by her rudeness. I then had to run all the way back to Coles when I'm quite sure checking security footage would have shown very clearly I had not stolen anything. I returned with the receipt rushing now as becoming late for work. The same women was extremely rude once more. I had to wait in line to show the receipt & then they struggled to find my purchased items. When they finally did my Coles items were returned with no apology at all for the distress & inconvience caused. I was late for work. I was discusted with my experience in your Patterson Lakes store. I will be sure to pass this experience on to the business I work at as we will no longer shop there. I will also add this to my business blog & Instagram.
Dissapointed,

Kitchen brand - Oven ready cauliflower and cheese
I bought a tray of "Kitchen - Oven ready cauliflower and cheese" bake on Monday 11th April 2016 from Woolworths in Jimboomba.
Unfortunately, I didn't notice that the 'use by' date said 11th April 2016, nor did we notice the unusual smell until we put all of the shopping in the enclosed car.
When we got home, I went to do chores whilst the children put the shopping away, putting the Cauliflower and cheese bake in the freezer. I noticed later that same night that the freezer had a weird smell in it when the lid was opened.
In order to find the questionable product, yesterday, 12.04.2016, I cleaned the freezer out and found that it was the "Kitchen - Oven ready cauliflower and cheese" bake bought the day before that smelled off. Clearly, it was off when purchased, hence the smell in the car on the way home. I'm disgusted that a store with a reputation like Woolworths would sell a product that was on it's last day of use and had already gone off.
