Rude customer service and incorrect packing of shopping
I had shopped at Woolworths 1224 Campbelltown Mall, 271 Queen St Campbelltown NSW
Date of Purchase 31/01/2023 15:07 001812
AID A0000000031010
Total Amount of Purchase $156.20
I bought food items, drinks, cleaning items and Zero Weed Killer.
I had placed my shopping items on the conveyor in order of cleaning items, Zero Weed Killer, drinks and food items so that poisonous items will be packed separate from the food items.
I have provided my owns bags, lots of bags to ensure the cleaning items and Zero Weed Killer do not get packed with the food items, especially the sliced bread that I do not want to be squashed with heavy items.
When the sliced bread is squashed, it will not be good to use it to make a sandwich or toast.
I was transferring the scanned shopping items to my shopping trolley when I had noticed that the lady had put the Zero Weed Killer with the food items, next to the sliced bread.
I had advised the lady that she should not place poisonous items with food items and she told me,"If you are not happy how I packed your shopping, you should pack it yourself". But it was too late for me to pack me own shopping, as she already placed the poisonous item with my food items.
For me, this service is very rude and you should train your staff properly on how to pack the shopping items and how to talk politely to customers so we can have a good experience and return to shop again.
Please advise what actions will be taken to improve your service, I will observe if the service standards have improved, otherwise, I will avoid going to your shop again so I do not get the rude service again.
Good customer service is very important too, even if I have to
Customer service
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am loathed to make a complaint; however, I feel you need to be aware of the tardy service I received, Saturday, 28th January 2023 at your Pelican Waters, Queensland store.
I chose a sponge cake to purchase, which I assumed was $5, however, when I went through the checkout, I was told the product was $5.70. I queried this $5.70 price only to be told to go and take a photo of the price tag with my phone and bring the evidence back to the counter.
I advised the checkout operator I did not have a phone and she replied, "Well there is nothing I can do about that". I paid the price I was told. No one was called for a price check.
My question to you is, "how long has this been your policy for customers to do
their own price checking?"
In my opinion it is extremely poor customer service and tardy in the extreme.
It would appear extra staff training needs to take place in order to ensure this does not happen again.
Unfortunately, I do not have the receipt nor thought to take note of the checkout assistant's name.
Thank you for taking the time to read this email.
Kind regards,
Stan Wood,
1 Lamerough Parade,
Golden Beach. Qld. 4551.

Desired outcome: Staff awareness of what is right and what is wrong. It is not hard.
Self-serve staff member
My partner purchased garlic from the fruit and veg market from the neighbouring shop. My partner went into Plumpton Woolworths to buy mince. When he went to self serve the lady (in broken English) demanded he pay for the garlic, my partner replied he had bought it from the other store and before he could offer to go to the other store for the receipt the lady demanded he pay for the garlic and spoke in a different language to her co-worker who then gave my partner a side eye (clearly their conversation was about him). My partner was astounded seeing the disgusting treatment he didn’t even bother to argue. He paid for already been paid for garlic and mince and left. Honestly disgusting behaviour “Woolworths” an Aussie company hiring people with that attitude. The customer service was disgusting and I will make sure this complaint is heard so that lady never ever makes another customer feel the same way. Disgusting staff member.
Desired outcome: Apology from that rude self-service staff member
Meat - lamb loin chops
I recently bought lamb loin chops from the Caloundra store and when I cooked them they were definitely OFF! This is the second time it has happened and they were lamb loin chops as well. I thought I would let you know, as it is extremely annoying to pay good money for meat that is off, especially twice.
I have been buying my meat at Aldi and thought I would give Woolworths meat another go, but after this I will never buy meat again at the Caloundra store. I didn't take it back, I just threw it away because it stunk. I am not going to take cooked off meat back to the store. I don't have the original packaging, as I threw it away.
The reason I am letting you know is that people are telling me that I should complain so you can rectify the matter, as the meat is expensive and it should be good quality.
I have now wasted approximately $40 on meat that is not for human consumption.
Sincerely
Coral Rolls

Re: Woolworths Christmas deal $75 for 10 people or $118 deal
I know that Christmas is over but I saw this article in a magazine and was really energized to purchase it. This is where my problems began!
After a few phone calls I wrote to Woolworths Food Managing Director Guy Brent asking if this was available in Queensland? A simple question! But no reply.
I also contacted my local Woolworths at Rothwell Queensland and left a message for the Manager (Sara). After a few days I called her and she was so rude. She (Sara) told me to stop wasting her time and harassing her Employees!
I was so stunned I put the phone down.
Is this typical of a Woolworth's Manager? If so after so many years shopping with Woolworths I might have to change.
I would appreciate a reply.
Kind regards...Jane O'Rourke

Mouldy cheese
On Friday the 13th of January I purchased the cheese board selection to take away camping. it was purchased at Woolworths Croydon, Victoria via click and collect. We have gone to eat it today whilst and it is mouldy. I have taken photographs of it. It has been in a fridge since I purchased it. So disappointed as I have had them previously and they have been wonderful.
Desired outcome: Reimbursement of costs
Swimming pool salt
I recently purchased three bags of Woolworths pool salt. Since adding the salt to my pool, countless rust spots have formed on the fibreglass surface of the bottom of the pool. My local pool shop stated that the Woolworths salt contained small metallic particles that have rested on the pool bottom to cause the rust. I now have significant costs and procedures to get my pool surface back to its original condition! Your supermarkets should NOT be selling this product.
I expect fair and reasonable compensation from you to cover ALL costs involved in fixing my pool.
Desired outcome: Cover costs of emptying pool, fixing rust issues and refilling pool.
Branded baked beans
A bout a month or two ago we bought some small stuff from Woollies in Kenilworth main road, tonight on the 9th of January I opened a can of Woolworth baked beans and it was fully molded in the can full of molded. We checked the BB and it is dated 11/10/2025
This is unacceptable as this was going to be part of our dinner tonight,
I need to know what is Woolworths going to do about this, I will give them 3 working days to get back to me before I go to social media and I will take further steps, hence this was our supper plans.
Regards
Priscilla Witbooi
Desired outcome: What are Woolworths owners and partners going to do about this?it was my dinner plan for my family.
Rose flavored Turkish delight
Received a 300g box of the above as a gift for christmas. It was purchased in the Strand/somerset west area sometime before 25th December 2022. Upon eating three we found it to be fudge and not turkish delight although even the wrapping is marked as turkish delight. Clear case of incorrect labelling of your product. We still have the balance of the incorrectly labeled turkish for your perusal.
Desired outcome: Replacement please thanks
Customer injury in sinnoville shop
On 27 December at about 10:30 am I was shopping with my friend at Woolworths food Sinnoville.
I was walking down the Bread isle and looking up on the shelves when I slipped in a wet puddle of "something". I am not sure if it was water or what it was. They were not washing the floors there and there was no sign about wet floors.
I fell backwards very hard and hurt my lower back, both my hips, my right hand and wrist as well as my shoulder and neck. My legs went underneath the trolley and both my knees are blue and swollen. When I got home I saw that my left foot was cut open on the side as well and it was bleeding a lot.
Directly after the fall the lady took my details. She phoned me back a few times but nothing since then. I cannot go to the doctor as I am unemployed and cannot pay for medical expenses. She said Woolworths would come back to me but I have not heard from any one yet.
I would like to know what is going to happen about this situation now as I am in a lot of pain and don't have money to pay for a doctor.
I would appreciate your urgent feedback please.

Customer disservice - racism
ATTN: C.E.O - On Friday 30th December, I, Walton Raberts, went to the self service counter at Woolworths, Rockingham City Shopping Centre, Western Australia, around 1.15pm.
There were a number of customers scanning their purchases. I scanned my purchases and paid. No sooner a woman, Tirelle, approached me and demanded I produce my receipt for purchases I made at Coles. I had two Coles bags with purchases I had made at Coles.
I told her that I had bought and paid for the items at Coles.
However, she insisted that I show her the Coles receipt.
I was flabbergasted that she insisted on seeing my Coles receipt.
If she had asked to see the Woolworths receipt, I would understand.
I asked her to see the manager, Todd, whom I know for years; she replied he was not there.
I was totally taken aback that Tirelle picked me from among many customers at the self-service check-out.
I realized that she did so because I am not white.
I must state that my family and I spend hundreds of dollars every month at Woolworths and BWS in Rockingham - amounting to thousands of dollars a year.
Tirelle's racist attitude has been insulting and hurtful to a senior citizen.
I urge you to look into this and reprimand her.
Her racist attitude has made me rethink shopping at Woolworths.

Quilton tuffy paper towel.
I have purchased this product regularly over the last few years, I have been happy with it until recently when the quality has failed. The towel sheets fall apart & don't do the required job. Very disappointed. On the packaging it reads 4ply super strong when wet. This certainly isn't what is in being sold at present. The barcode for the present package is [protected].
Desired outcome: This needs to be relayed to the manufactures. The quality of this product has really failed .
Half leg ham
Hi, my name is Heather Harrison
I purchased a Half Leg Gam from the Moorebank Woolworths on the 19/12/2022 and took it straight home and put it in the fridge. Yesterday 23/12/2022 i removed it from the packing and put it in a ham bag i have used for many years. Today i removed it from the refrigerator and cut some off the leg. The 1st bit was verry dry and had a funny taste. I cut some more off the leg, and it was verry dry like the 1st bit and tasted funny again. I have put it back in the Ham bag and put it back in the fridge. My husband know feels funny in the stomach. What do i need to do with the ham? I am an aged pensioner and cannot afford to just throw it away.
Desired outcome: reimburse me the cost of the leg ham or replace it.
Check out
On Saturday I went to the WW at North Park shopping centre at about 12.30. When I arrived at the checkout half an hour later, I had a half trolley of groceries including ice cream and frozen products.
There were 2 checkouts open which had customers with full trolley loads unloading and another person waiting at each checkout.
I asked the lady at the self service area if they could open another checkout and she said there wasn’t anyone to open one. No one called anyone so I am not sure how she could work that out. It was clearly a busy time of day.
The self serve area was full of people and there was a short line up, there were 2 staff at the service counter and one lady who was collecting cash from the checkouts.
I started to scan my groceries and commented to the lady that I was told one time, that I only had to ask and they would open a checkout. She answered a bit snarkily which made me even crankier. I had to be out and get the groceries home and packed away before going to a Christmas show so I was short of time. The self service machine doesn’t work very quickly and it is time consuming doing it yourself.
I commented that I would rather shop at Foodland as they have most of their checkouts operating and no self serve.
There were a lot of home delivery collectors working throughout the store and it was clearly busy. Before I had finished packing my own groceries which did not all fit on the section at the self service area, another checkout had opened.
I choose to shop at Woolworths for the frequent flyer points but I am increasingly unhappy with the number of checkouts open and the number of times I have to serve myself. I know that it is a way to save costs but this is affecting customer service. I have noticed this more and more this year.
I was so frustrated that I felt like leaving my groceries at the checkout and leaving.
Regards,
Marilyn
Desired outcome: More checkouts open at Woolworths stores when needed.
Trangs Spring Roll Pastry Sheets
I purchased 2 boxes of the Trangs Spring Roll pastry sheets on the 8/12/22. Prior to using them I followed the thawing out instructions then covered them so as not to dry out and proceeded to peel them apart. It was sheer disaster as the sheets were so stuck together that they were breaking and ripping. I have never had so many problems with other brands of Spring Roll pastry sheets. To me they looked as if they had been thawed then refrozen in Woolworths freezer fridges. To complete my spring rolls it took me two hrs instead of the usual 30 minutes due to these faulty sheets that I was not able to separate easily.
I have enclosed photos of the faulty product.
Ashfield shopping centre complaint
Today, I shopped at the Woolworths in Ashfield Mall, Sydney. Before I went there, I bought some grocery at Coles on the other level. After I got the thing I needed, I went directly to the self-checkout area. An Indian middle-aged man stared at me as soon as I appeared in his eyesight. So I went to the counter nearest to him. He has watched closely when I was scanning and paid the money. But when I walked out the store, he stopped me very impolitely and shouted “show me what you have got”. He thought I was the thief. I showed him the receipt from Coles but he was still not satisfied and checked my bag closely, which made me very uncomfortable. This is not the first time that I was stopped by your Indian staff. In fact, I was stopped by your Indian staff many times. The reason why I emphasize “Indian Staff” is that I am a Chinese, apparently a yellow people. I have noticed that Indians in Sydney tend to be hostile to South Asian people. And I have only been stopped by Indian staff in Woolworths in a Ashfield Mall, and for many times. There is another Indian woman in this store who is very unfriendly to me, and my room mate who is also a yellow people. I am a very busy law student and I never want to waste time and energy on these silly people. But I have experienced severe racial discrimination in this store. And I think there is a severe necessity for Woolworths to educate your staff, especially Indian staff, and let them realize that South Asia is highly developed today, instead of what they think. We have clean street, highly developed economics, and high quality people. We work hard to make our days in legal, polite and proper ways. Our country have 5000 years of history and culture that highly restrict people’s behavior. So do not consider us as thieves. You should know: what you see in us is to see yourselves in the mirror.
Desired outcome: Apologies, and make sure not to consider us as thieves in the future. To be polite and well-educated with your customer service.
Butterflied lamb shoulder - Greek style with lemon and garlic
This product contained a very high amount of fat. After cooking there was over 240g of melted fat and another 190g of fat and sinue which was unedible. This was from a product weighing 1.1 kg which equates to almost half inedible. The product cost was $24 / kg which ended up costing almost double as half of the product was inedible. My family was very disappointed with this product and a cost of over $26.
Desired outcome: Refund - Email - [protected]@hotmail.com

Semi Trailer Truck Driver.
Myself and other commuters didn't appreciate your arsehole of a driver who drove for kilometres in the right lane holding up traffic. At approx 5.10am, 23 November between Sinnamon Park and Figtree pocket on the Centenary Highway.
Not only was it illegal but also shows absolute contempt and disregard for other road users, is also extremely discourteous driving and tarnishes truck drivers.
Desired outcome: Track down this driver and see if anybody else has bothered to complain or has a history. Remind him that he also drags Woolworths thru the mud with his poor driving.
Staff attitude
I shop at Woolworths Tuncurry NSW & over the last couple of weeks there has been a man named JOSH working in the deli section. He is condersending & has the attitude that he thinks you are stupid. He expects me to read the sign on whatever I want to buy to the letter, for instance last week there was a selection of fresh cooked prawns ranging from $28,$29 & $20 per kilo, I asked for a kilo of the $20 cooked prawns & he said "Which ones" & after looking at him for a second I said "there is only one lot for $20 a kilo & he said"well I have to ask otherwise you will get home & have the wrong thing"I replied"are you serious there is only one at $20 a kilo, I got the prawns & then asked which one of the twiggies were the mild ones & he said the longer ones were the mild twiggies & I asked for 250gms of them & he again said which ones? the mild ones or the hot ones, seriously.
I was there again on the weekend & saw him in the deli & considered walking away but I needed cold meat for my work lunches, I read the sign on the ham & asked for $5 worth of the shaved $17kg deli ham & once again I got, "which one there are two there", to which I replied there is only one that is the shaved ham the other is full slices, he went to say something else & I stopped him & said "please don't do that, you are really getting up my nose" with that his attitude changed & he almost threw the wrapped ham across the top of the counter. He has been doing this every time I go to the deli lately & right now I will not go to the Tuncurry store & will go elsewhere to get my deli supplies even though that means traveling an extra few kilometres to go to the Forster store. I work hard in my job & never speak to any staff in the service industry rudely. This man just pushed too far for no reason & I pushed back. In my opinion he needs an attitude check or some serious customer service training.
I just hope he is not like this with everyone especially the elderly that shop there all the time.
Thank You for your time
