customer care
have been to and even my lawyer has stated, government insurance has to be filed secondary when other insurance is involved. I am covered under my husbands work insurance, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Amerigroup, which I was not told over the phone you guys do not except. The receptionists tried convincing me to just leave instead of at least getting the exam and xrays. But they finally stopped and let me take a seat and wait, I was told 2 people were in front of me, 2 people were called back then I was called back, getting ready for my xray, one of the rude receptionist yelled very loudly you have the wrong patient, even though I was next, so I was told to go sit back down. This place is a circus and no-one here knows what they are doing. If the receptionists are this bad I really don't want anyone in this building touching me.
billing and filing on credit
I was told they had 30 days to perform a procedure that they have already been paid for. I had a $1400 credit on my account for 6 months and no other procedures done on me. But they where paid to do my implants. From the first time going to Aspen dental in texarkana, tx I was told one thing and then at last min they couldn't do it because I didnt have enough credit left, like about my implants that it was no problem had credit approval and insurance told them wanted to wait for my long rotation off which was 20 days away and with in the 1st week they where call me trying to bump up the appointment to have 22 teeth pulled . I had at least 2 phone call per week until I had procedure done.
I just received a bill after paying the balance when I picked up my upper and lower partials at the end of April. I paid off the balance and now I received a statement from their main office that I owe a balance. I plan to write that office a letter requesting my chronologial statement with all visits, insurance claims and payments I have made. Then I am going to file complaints because I believe they made a mistake. I do not want to think I was scammed but if they messed up I am suing. The day I left the office with my partials, paid the balance should be the end of this ordeal.
My wife and I both had appointments and it was determined my wife needed about $2, 600 worth of work. We decided to use their line of credit to do the work. We went away with appointments to get the work started and before any work was done they applied $600 to the line of credit whereby we were sent a payment bill. We decided that was not an acceptable billing practic to charge prior to having any work being done. In the line of credit was for the wife and she decided to not use Aspen, I went ahead and tried to schedule an appointment to start my Crown replacement. They would not schedule the appointment without first applying $250 to my card. Needless to say Aspen Dental has a terrible billing practice that takes advantage of people who are seeking their advertized low cost dental care.
dentures and how your treated
I have recently went to get a new set of dentures at my local aspen dental office in dubois pa. I paid the full price up front for my new dentures. It was $2600.00
While they were makimg my teeth I was in this office week after week quickly. After the dentures were made the dentist fit tyem to my mouth as best as he could and told me if there were any spots that need fixed just stop back in and he would fix them.
So I did. I sat in this office for 3 hours making me late for work just to ger told I needed an appointment for over a month later. So I made the appointment and could not use my teeth for a month because of how sore my mouth is from them because they need adjusted.
Now today on march 26th, 2019 I returned for my appointment which magically changed from 2:45pm to 2:15pm which means I was late. They would not see me and told me I needed to set an appointment for april 17th 2019 to get them adjusted. This is ridiculious! I paid alot of money for teeth I cannot use. I told the woman at the front desk to just forget it and I left. I think its ridiculious that they couldnt see me. There was one other person in the office to be seen at this time.
This is how you treat your customers? Im filing a complaint with the better business bureau. I will not return to any aspen dental ever again amd ill make sure I tell everyone I know how I was treated by this company.
I want my money back. They can have the dentures back. I dont want them. I now have to go somewhere else to get them made. Let me make this clear. My insurance did not pay for these dentures. My hsa did, thats money I worked to save up just to get dentures. This office cant see me for two months to do something that would take them 10 minutes to do!? In the meantime I have dentures that I cant use!?
I am open for communication from this company about a full refund and nothing else. If I dont get a full refund I will give everything to my attorney to get my full refund. Having to wait two months for an adjustment is uncalled for.
malpractice, dental services, billing, professionalism
Son had 15 teeth pulled on 3/18/19 and immediate denture insertion. He returned to office on 3/25/19 with a complaint of a piece of bone working it's way out of the gum and have it removed. Well dr(joke) Nichols tells him she can't do anything to help him, I did dental work for a few years and I k ow better. He tries to talk to her and she runs off and hides, when she found out he wasn't going to leave she come out of hiding and yells at him that there nothing she could do. There is a 100% satisfaction money back guarantee in paper. May have to contact a lawyer also.
pressured into financing, charged for services I did not get, turned in amount before insurance paid their part and didn’t subtract it afterwards
On January 10, 2019 I visited Aspen Dental Dalton, Ga for a possible extraction. I was told that I had periodontal disease and an infection and also two cavities that she thought needed to be "redone". I was told that the infection needed a treatment and a extraction (of a root canal) that day and that it could not wait for me to get the $ another 3 days. At first the lady added up over $9000 worth of work but I was pressured into financing 2632.00 I believe. Come to find out, they didn't even wait for my insurance to pay their part. They charged me the whole thing. I've tried filing disputes twice to no avail. I received a letter stating I talked to an office manager named Michael when I never received such a call or any contact from a Michael! They charged me for procedures I didn't even have for instance they charged me for a surgical extraction and it WAS NOT a surgical extraction! I've been to dentist a lot and know the difference! Even though they will not admit that it wasn't. I'm tired of company like this ripping off hard working people! Please help. The photo of the bill I have I enclosed is after one payment of $71.00.
billing
I had a bridge placed in. At the appointment I sat at the desk with the lady as she verified my insurance. She gave me a print out of what the patient responsibilty would be and it was zero. She stated that both if my dental insurance companies verified me as covered and there would be an out of pocket deductable for each at $50. I paid the $100 deductables that day and had the work done. Within two weeks my bridge had shifted, verified by an x-ray at Aspen. The dr stated that he could redo the bridge after I had my root canal done on the tooth inside the bridge. During my wait period of the root canal appointment and healing time, I received a bill for the bridge of over $800. I contacted the office manager serval times and she stated they would refiled on my insurance. I received another bill this month for the bridge. I wouldn't have gotten the bridge done if I had known I would have to pay that amount as it was not necessary. After being told I would not owe anything but the deductable; I receive a bill. Correct insurance verification would have prevented this issue. I do not feel as this is my responsibility. I have been a patient of Aspen since they opened in Tupelo and I do like the employees there. My family of five all are patients of Aspen. At this point we will be looking for another dentist.
billing dept.
I was getting a denist that was not in the network. They had all my insurance info but, apparently there denist credential dept was not updated so, my insurance denied it. So, now i'm out of $1500 which would have been cover if, they gave me a dentist in the network all send and done it cost me $6, 577.00 at least if I got the money back from my insurance I could have paid down my loan. Aspen don't care they got thir money from me. I am so upset about this i'm on disable from breat cancer and the chemo is what made my teeth go bad in the first place. I never would have went there if, I knew my insurance was going to be denied and it's their mistake for giving me a dentist that was out of the network or them, not checking that his cedentials wereup dated. I will never refer people to aspen. Iwas told by a friend not to go there, should have listened.

crowns, partial dentures
In May of 2018, I paid Aspen Dental in Carrollton, GA $13, 071.00 in cash for what appeared to be 2 pages of dental work on my teeth. Between May and Oct. 2018, I received 7 crowns and 2 partials. The bill was coded, therefore I could not read what most of the billing was for. After going on line and checking the codes, I found I was being charged 2 times for partials in a 5 Month period. I questioned why 2 sets of partials in 5 months and was told i could get a refund of
$1918.00 for the second set. but would not have any guarantee as promised in their ad. I had already paid over $1800.00 for first set, which did not even fit correctly. I had to make 4 trips to get the partials corrected. I went in March 2019 to have my teeth cleaned with a different Dental Clinic and was told by a different Dental Hygenist that I have 2 crowns that are the incorrect size for the tooth and the hangover is causing food particles to get up under the crown, causing problems. I had to have my teeth deep cleaned because of the inferior dental work done on my teeth by Aspen Dental in Carrollton, GA. When I first went to Aspen Dental, the only problem I was aware of was a chipped front tooth. Now I am over $10, 000.00 paid to them and have to go to a real dentist to have my teeth fixed. I do not have dental insurance, so I am disgusted and wish I had never heard of these people.
malpractice
Today I went to aspen dental for a few fillings and an extraction, I arrived at 10:30 and left at 5:00.
When I finally saw the "Dr." she was rough, no manners, all around horrible after being accidentally stabbed in the lips 3 times, jerked around by my jaw etc I told the dentist I would not like to have the extraction done.
After filling my front teeth I was unaware is she had completed the job, I sent a picture to my husband shocked by the out come.
Unknowingly my husband called the office, in return the office manager brought a sticky note to the dentist I was unaware it was about myself.
The dentist started making comments about how ignorant people are and horrible humans are I was still unaware it was me she was referring to, after she finished my back tooth which she was far more rough with, she asked me if I worked locally when I replied no she then asked where I lived... She did not offer to let me see my teeth.
I went to the car and burst into tears my front teeth were destroyed in my opinion. It is not only horrible work but she drilled two cavities I couldn't even see before and didn't fill them. All the dentist had to say was that no one else can do it better, the office refunded my money or at least said it would be refunded in 7 days... I'm waiting to see if it actually comes through.
I now not only have to endure the pain of having the same job done again but find a dentist to do it and hope if they can fix this disaster.
I'm including a before and after picture.
billing customer refunds customer care need of up front
I was in office in 6/11/2018
I had a visit not covered by in network provider but was not notified at all would be seeing a new dentist or a substitute dentist that was out of network but office said every dentist that substitutes is in network and they should fight for customer and be sure and notify insurance of dentist being in network with his id number
I have called geha if dentist in network I am owed $40 as your office says dentist was in network
I also was told I could be seen for care of problem tooth that I said over year ago that I knew was a problem with pain and your dentist couldn't find it
Then long time almost year later they finally send me for root canal and I lost my tooth due to decay that I had a cracked tooth for a long time and was infection way down unable to save tooth
Then geha says I owed 209 for 6-11-18 so I had credit 76 plus paid 263 but was only responsible for 209 plus I also had payments from bcbs
So credit $40 and difference of $263 I paid compared to owed. $208 per geha eob
customer service/ refund
Hello my name is Theresa Gonzalez. I visited the augusta ga location on 03/07/2019. While there I was precharged for services i have not received yet. I called the next day to explain that i would like to receive a refund due to the fact that my sister was approved for credit and she would let me use her card. The first time I called, noone would answer the main office number, however when i pressed button for new customer it was answered within three rings and they were able to transfer me to the main office for help. I spoke to elliott who explained that refunds could only be issued by the office manager and that she left early because she felt ill. It was supposed to be scheduled for her to call me back the next day to discuss the refund. The next day i called 30 mins after the appointed time window to speak to the manager and elliott claimed that she was busy with the appointment before mine and that i was next on the list. I waited for over an hour and a half more before elliott called back to state that he caught the manager between patients and that she stated that refund would only be issued if i brought in my sisters card and the debit card i paid with. I had explained the following day that i needed to reschedule the date as my sister was out on vacation, but when i spoke to them that day they had not cancelled the appointment as requested. I am extremely displeased with how bad customer service was for something that is easily handled. The office manager never contacted me personally as promised and i would greatly appreciate it if i could just receive my refund. I would no longer like to use their services as i feel like i have been given the runaround constantly. My phone number is [protected] and would greatly appreciate if someone could reach out to me to resolve this issue. I have placed a claim into my bank as i never received the treatment i prepaid for.
I am looking to get a refund on dental services at aspen dental in Owensboro Kentucky. I paid in advance for visalian process my 10 am appt was rescheduled to 4pm got there 3;45 and she came to see me at 5;20, told me she had been busy had seen 55 patients in a 8 hour day how does that work? get hold of them and start my refund asap or I may just suck up the loss and give you folks another attorney to fight off. Leslie Peek e-mail Joyce.peek@daviess.kyschools.us...PS I will go to the office in the morning and request the same I know what I and my insurance paid so make the refund correct.
last visit - crown prep
During my last visit for a crown prep, I was injured. Underneath my tongue was punctured during the procedure and it appeared as they were trying to cover it up. I had to go to urgent care because aspen dental didn't call me back the next day when I called to ask about it and for suggestions on healing. Now I have a $200 bill from urgent care that I can not afford.
I will not go back until this is resolved. It was embarrassing. My tongue was swollen for a week and felt like it was sticking out of my mouth as I spoke. I hate taking medicine but the pain was unbearable so I had to. The entire experience was awful and I spent so much money.
The charges of service I did not receive
My aspen dental account number is 3711851-0; vincennes, in 47591. Office manager at that time was debra cox. I lost everything I had when my leased business burn. My home had been paid in full which I lost because I used it as collateral for my $100, 000 business loan. I also lost my credit score of 853. I'm 68 years old and disabled to work post neurosurgery (spinal neck c-4 thru c-7). I'm trying to build up my credit score, but the $6, 214.14 that aspen dental states I owe affecting me now. It was very embarrassing when I could not co-sign for my grandson taking out a $500 loan. Aspen dental is still causing me stress with this collection agency! All these errors occurred due to office employee. I chose the dental plan before I knew the price I only signed a draft. I explained a needed the lowest cost plan. She was going to correct the lowest plan for me when her computer went down. They called me back to see the dentist; she assured be that it would be corrected after I seen the dentist. When I was finished she had her purse and was going to lunch. I explained that I was moving in two months. I had four office visits the first visit was 10/24/2013 at which time they made the mold of my upper and lower teeth. My teeth were not decade but the enamel on my front teeth was gone. The second visit was 10/31/2103 at which time I had all my teeth pulled and new dentures were placed. The third visit was 11/07/2013 for a check-up to check on the gums and dentures. The fourth visit was approximately a 6 weeks from starting date; a glaze was placed into the open dentures for comfort. My dentures were a started set. I didn't get the choice of the color or thickness which bottom denture broke 6 months late. I moved to alabama (I still have the dentures they made). I had to go to affordable denture in ft. Payne, al to have another set made. I was charged by aspen dental (?) "$9, 200". My dental insurance paid (?) $3, 800.00. I tried to correct this problem for over a year. Aspen put the charges on a ge capital retail bank that I have never used. The reason once again for this letter is that this bill was sent to collection agency "portfolio recovery associates, llc. Two days ago I received another notice from collection. My portfolio recovery associates account number is [protected]. I would appreciate someone's attention and assistance with this huge matter! Laura pasquarella-talley; [protected]@outlook.com.
form not filed, bill not paid, sent to collections
I had work done by Aspen in Oneonta NY. They were amazing, however, the office did not take care of the insurance claim as they should have.
They needed to submit a form to my insurance company to receive payment because i had a horrible experience with another dentist and they needed to fix it. At the time, Lisa was the office manager. when filling out my paperwork she kept stating that if my insurance won't pay, I'm covered because I signed the contract. I paid over $600. for a denture at that very same visit.
Because the form wasn't submitted, my insurance denied it. I called and spoke to my insurance company as well as Aspen in Oneonta. I didn't know it wasn't settled until i received a collection letter. I have an outstanding collections for $639.(Glodal) The last conversation I had with Oneonta, they told me they couldn't pull it back, it was too late to submit the form and i can chose not to pay it. She was getting info from someone from Syracuse i think. I am very upset with this situation and hope you can look into this further to assist me.
customer service from the dr carta gena that resulted in me not smiling anymore
I was in Aspen Dental this morning for the sixth time for a filling and a crown for two teeth this being said let me say that in August when I started going to Aspen Dental in Lakeland, FL. I prepaid $2, 500.00 upfront then I had my mother start going to this same office and have paid for everything out of my pocket cash no questions. When I had the...

This was the worse experience in my life of going to a dentist. We had called in to get a quote on a broken tooth and getting an implant to replace it. We were told $1500.00, so we made an appointment. Aspen Dental said they would just go straight to the oral surgeon. (Didn't bother telling me that there would be an additional $127.00 fee, otherwise I...
Read full review of Aspen Dentaldental care - cleaning, whitening, fillings. manipulation by staff to spend more
Pressure to spend more- I went to Aspen Dental looking for help for my dad. I left with a bunch of future appts scheduled and an enormous debt headed my way. While talking to office manager about financing my dads dental care I asked about the Zoom whitening. She became a used car salesmen and within minutes had me convinced I needed to have every single issue with my teeth done immediately and at a great deal with monthly payments. She herself she said started as a customer and was so impressed with the company she began to work there. They gave me this elaborate oral b electric toothbrush system calling it a free gift but I was charged for it. The dentist that worked on me were very difficult to understand because of the language gap. I had no idea what I was agreeing to I was just nodding because I was uncomfortable. They all had terrible bedside manner. my 1st appt where they convinced me to do all this I felt like a queen. Everyone was so helpful and kind. Had stories about there own experiences. The next time I went I was barely spoke to, and felt like I was on an assembly line in a factory. I had to go back because I was numbed so much that even hours and hours later when I tried to eat I chewed apart the inside of my mouth to where it looked like hamburger meat. And there was an issue with one of my fillings. I felt like something was wrong with it. I don't remember exact details but something wasn't right. When I went back they said they never worked on that tooth. Showed me in the chart it wasn't that one but I know they did. I think they did the wrong tooth and then said they didn't touch it. When I tried to talk to the office manager about not being happy she was nowhere to be found. No one in person no one on the phone, no one anywhere was ever available to talk to me or call me back. So I didn't pay them and now they are suing me.
dental
I had one tooth that was giving me trouble and when I went there they had said I needed all of my teeth pulled except for 6 on the bottom told me that I was only financed for the removal of the top the removal of the few on the bottom and just the top denture that they would want me to get a partial made for the bottom not even a year later maybe more than a year later around there I ended up having to get them bottom six teeth pulled there was something about a paper I needed signed by my psychiatrist before they would do the procedure and I couldn't get in to my psychiatrist on a timely fashion so they glossed over that.. told me if I didn't get the financing now I might not qualify for it later so I ended up getting my top pulled and then them bottom teeth were pulled so the top part of the Denture never fit right..
Also after I did get the top teeth all pulled I was highly sedated and I had my boyfriend with me they neglected to give him the Aftercare information and they kept telling me I needed to leave the dentures and for 3 days is what I thought they were saying to me so like four days later my mouth is all swollen and irritated cuz I had kept them dentures and all that time I was on so much medication that they wanted somebody to drive me home and make sure I had somebody with me but neglected to give that person the Aftercare instructions only me
crowns, fillings and the huge gap that is in my mouth now that was not there before.
I just came across your article concerning Aspen Dental Lawsuit and read almost every article concerning this case, I was in Aspen Dental this morning for the sixth time for a filling and a crown for two teeth this being said let me say that in August when I started going to Aspen Dental in Lakeland, FL. I prepaid $2, 500.00 upfront then I had my mother start going to this same office and have paid for everything out of my pocket cash no questions. When I had the original impressions done in October 2018 the Dental Assistant was either new or poorly trained her name was Morgan the Dentist in charge of the entire Aspen Dental office Dr. Carta Gena had to come help or redo the dental assistants work at least six times my appointment was at 9:30 am and was seen almost on time I did not leave the dentist office until after 1:00 pm and waiting on me was my mother and sister we where going to have lunch except I was in to much pain my sister said what is wrong with your mouth what she was referring to is that my front two teeth one was longer then the other these where not even the teeth being worked on that day or ever by Aspen Dental it looked like a chipmunk to give you some kind of picture and this was at the same time I was preparing to leave on a cruise with my family the night before I left for the cruise the partial filling they had put in fell out I called there 24 emergency number twice both times being assured of the dentist on call to get in touch with me asap I never received in phone call back at all from anyone when I returned from my cruise that it destroyed because I was unable to eat or enjoy myself with my family that I always pay for and cost me over $5, 000.00 that the dentist Dr. Carta Gena was very well aware that I was going on and so was everyone in that Aspen Dental Office when the office saw me the next day from returning from the cruise but not the original Dr. Carta Gena the dentist in charge that she makes well aware of it was a male Dentist that was again either poorly trained or new he glue the same piece that feel out back into my mouth and I stated then that I was not a dentist but that seems very unprofessional and the same dental assistant Morgan is the one who assisted him that same piece that they glued back in feel out that same night I was beyond pissed the next day when I went back to the dental office the office Manager Josh made sure that the most senior dental assistant on staff saw me but not the original Dr. Carta Gena it was again the male dentist he came in did his exam and was going to do the same thing he did the day before and glue it back in the dental assistant Dee that was very well trained gave another opinion that made a lot more sense even to me but I notice her idea would have costed Aspen more and the dentist was hesitant to do that after I gave my opinion he processed with the dental assistant Dee recommendation and I did not see the dentist again that day not even to check the work of the dental assistant at the time of this visit the dental assistant Dee that was very very good made commit to me that she was hoping this would work because she had never seen temporary cab and impressions done so poorly that I would probably have problems in that area of my mouth for awhile that she did the best she could and she did a great job until my permanent crowns and fillings where put in at the next visit I had my permanent crowns put in by Dr. Carta Gena and she was in and done very quickly and held a mirror up for two seconds it seemed and I followed every instruction not to eat or drink all instructions by my dentist have always been followed exactly to the letter I have had braces always well maintained teeth no gaps or missing teeth and very straight from the braces I thought after several days that the crown was loose and in fact there is a good size gap in my mouth now from there procedure so in fact it was air I was feeling not the crown being loose but it was not a feeling I have ever had in my mouth before so I did not know what it was in fact it was my Mom that noticed the gap eating dinner because my Mom lives with me so we see each other everyday and she has always been very proud of my teeth as she worked very hard while me and my sister where growing up to make sure we had everything we needed she is an exceptional example for all mothers to follow so we went back to the dentist I had a teeth whiting scheduled but I asked to speak with the office Manager Josh first before the cleaning to show him and he stated he doesn't remember a gap either that we would put off the teeth whiting until after the Dr Carta Gena returned from vacation that appointment was today after going into the exam room for the dentist to do her exam she came in and spent less than five minutes total explaining to me that when she heeled the mirror up for approx 2 seconds I should have said something there at no time apologized or even remotely seemed concerned about the gap that is now in my mouth and never took ownership of anything that her dental office from the start had did wrong so to wrap this up that facts are I had no gap in my teeth ever I can back that up since my youth and now I do there senior dental assistant Dee already told me they really messed up that area of my mouth the Dr Carta Gena told me my x rays showed a gap a little one not that large but there was nothing she could do because I should have noticed it when she heeled that mirror up when the problem started in August at that visit and was never corrected properly all under the supervision of the dentist in charge Dr Carta Gena so I told the office manager that if they where not going to stand behind there work and uphold there dental promise that you hear all the time then to close my account that was prepaid $2, 500.00 out and he did with a refund of $1, 027.00 to take over a month to be returned to me I can not even truly smile like I used to because of this mistake done by this dentist and her dental office so does this fall into the area of your Lawsuit if so I am willing to join and help any way needed. I appreciate your time and thank you in advance for reading my dental horror story that I will live with forever now.
Sincerely,
Michael F Vaughn
