Banned for life due to inaccurate blood work that they conducted.
Over 20 years ago after routine blood work I was told levels in my liver were off which was indicative of early stages of liver shutting down. I was not allowed to be retested. My liver continues to work just fine, and I have never had any liver problems. I recently went back to try and be reinstated since obviously there test was wrong. They agreed that my health is fine and that they were wrong, but said there isn't a procedure to be reinstated. I feel I'm being punished for their mistake, and discriminated against for a health condition that I've never had
Desired outcome: I want to be able to donate plasma again.
Donor Mistreatment
I experienced micro-aggression twice at the Columbus center for absolutely no reason. The women have tried to defer me for no reason. I know this because I do exactly what’s asked to have a successful donation. Today the technician tells me she knows “ we” don’t think it matters to make a tight fist and decides to play with the needle in my arm. Then I speak to the manager and she completely downplays my experience, which she is mildly racist and it’s no surprise why the techs act the way they do when it’s clear they have some unspoken bias against donors they don’t like. Juvenile and unprofessional, I will speak to who I need to over this manager to get this matter resolved.
Desired outcome: I would like real consequences for the mistreatment I experienced at this center.

Banned due to “trying to hide an injury” and “lying on the intake question”
I donated last on Wednesday 8/24/2022 at the Laramie center and I walked in to the center with a walking boot filled out the intake questions honestly answered no I was feeling okay to donate and no I didn’t have an new injury, I got cleared to go to a bed. It was then that one of the phlebotomist asked me if I told anyone about the boot and I replied no was I supposed to? And I was taken to the physical room where the nurses asked me questions about the boot like if I had a new injury I replied no the boot was only for stability when my MRI was taken I told the nurse I had a MRI in June in Pueblo and it showed no fracture or injuries. I was then weighed again without the boot and put back on a machine. The next day Thursday the same nurse called me and informed me that she needed more information I called back and told her when my mri was taken and that it was taken in Pueblo and that I had an appointment with my foot doctor on Thursday the 1St of September she then informed me that I needed to supply the center with my MRI report and a doctors note clearing me of any new injuries and letting them know that it’s safe for me to donate so the next day Friday I got a doctors note and a copy of my MRI and faxed it to the center that afternoon I received another call from the nurse and I called her back that was when she informed me that I was no longer allowed to donate because the management staff felt like I wasn’t being honest with my intake questions and trying to hide my injury which I did not have I feel like I should not be banned from the center for not being honest because I was feeling well to donate and as it states in the letter from the doctor I have no new injuries which I let the nurses know and I also feel that If I was trying to hide an injury I would not have given a doctors note or a copy of my MRI which I was asked for.
Desired outcome: I would like an apology and to Be allowed to donate again or compensation
Inadequate handling of hazardous material
I was donating plasma at the Biolife Center on the morning of August 6, 2022. At approximately 10:18am when the tech was cleaning up the equipment from the gurney to my left. The tech did not seal the blood line tube correctly resulting in spilling the patients blood on my clothing from the patient that was utilizing the machine to my left prior. A special incident report was taken after the occurrence. I did mention to the manager in charge that the beds are too close to each other and by spacing out the beds a little more, that could avoid future occurrences of spilling blood on others. Upon my return to donate on August 28, 2022 after a couple weeks hiatus from having spilled blood on my clothing from a Biolife tech, I noticed the gurneys have not been spaced apart as I suggested and the beds continue to remain within close proximity from one another. Although I was told, I was the first this incident happened to at this Biolife Center location, I found this experience to be quite disturbing. The thought of having someone's blood splashed on my clothing should not have occurred if the technician had taken proper measures and or follow precise protocol to ensure the the blood line tube was properly sealed.
Desired outcome: Space out journeys to avoid future occurrences of blood for optimal health and safety. Financial compensation for the time I missed donating. Ongoing coupons that allow increased incentives than the normal low budget donation amounts.

Donation Referral
My wife who has always been reluctant to donate was finally convinced by me when I told her I would receive a referral monetary bonus. I sent her a link through my app and she donated at the Addison, IL facility on Aug 24th.
When she asked the intake nurse to input my information as a referral she was informed they do not do referrals anymore. After her donation she approached the front desk to complain and was informed they are not doing referrals in the Month of August...
How can a corporation with an incentive based referral system not honor their arrangement? This is tantamount to bait and switch! I have been donating since 2020 and both my wife and I are bow considering using a competitor who will honor their arrangements.

Problem with payment, staff atmosphere.
Hello I presented a donors coupon to the BioLife techs and they did not honor the amount on the coupon. I first asked a Tech about my coupon and she acknowledged it - but seemed exasperated that I asked. She then told me she would be back to put it into the computer and she never returned. I then asked a second tech while I was donating about the coupon...
Read full review of BioLife Plasma ServicesExtreme pain and bruising after plasma donation
I donated plasma on 8/17/2022. When the needle was injected, I let the phlebotomist know that something didn't feel right as this wasn't the first time I donated plasma. She told me to start pumping and we can readdress it if I experience issues. When the machine told me it was time to pum, my blood was barely trickling and the machine was blinking red as I continued to vigorously pump my hand. I raised my opposite hand and hand the supervisor come look at the injection site. She said she needed to adjust the needle and dug around in my arm to find a better flow. I told her that it hurt and it felt like she was stabbing my bicep. She said she found a better site and asked me to try pumping again. I had the same issue once more; I was vigorously pumping and it was barely flowing. This continued after 2 additional adjustments. My arm was in pain and the supervisor decided to move the injection to my right arm to finish the donation process. I told her several times that my left arm was hurting and she said it should be ok. I completed my donation and left the facility. I was immediately sick when I left. I was extremely nauseous and for the rest of the day I was sick with an upset stomach and diarrhea; which continued to the next morning. I attempted to contact a nurse at BioLife and never received a phone call back to address the pain and sickness. I drove to the facility the next morning to have my arm looked at. By this time, the injection site was extremely bruised and still painful. The nurse gave me information about hematoma and wrapped an ice pack on my arm and sent me on my way. The brusing has since covered 3/4 of my left arm and the pain has not subsided. I returned to the facility today to donate and the same phlebotomist that botched my previous donation was the one I saw today. The injection site was cleaned on the non-bruised arm and she made the injection. Within a minute, the alarm started going off and I was told that I needed to discontinue my donation and see a nurse because my red blood cells had burst. The supervisor can and wrapped my arm and a nurse came to check me out. I was given a Powerade and pretzels and sent on my way. I have never experienced so much pain and so many issues when donating blood or plasma. I think the phlebotomist needs to be reviewed since there has now been 2 incidents within a 7 day period. Not only that, I am having to pay out of pocket expenses to see my PCP to have the bruising monitored.
Desired outcome: I would like addition compensation for my time, additional doctor visits and the pain that still persist a week after my initial incident.

Customer service
I had a first time appointment at the Biolife in Greenville SC on woodruff rd. It was my first visit I never been before. My appointment was at 940 and I arrived at 953 and was told they only had 2 nurses and that I was more than 10min late and couldn't be seen. I stated to then I was not aware of the 10min windows because I did not recive that in the email I got from biolife and asked since I'm here can I be seen. I also expressed I had a hard time finding the place and that it was my first time. They expressed they only had 2 nurses today which had nothing to do with me. I then asked to speak to management to see the 10min policy in writing and for them to show me where it was in the website and they couldn't find it and said those who have been here before knows about it . I then asked what about those who's NEVER been here how are they suppose to know and they said we don't know what to tell you. I then asked for corporate number and they told me to go online and file a complaint and I asked their names so that I could add in the complaint everyone I talked to and they told me NO WE DONT GIVE OUT OUR NAMES AND YOU CAN LEAVE. which is very unprofessional. This is not a place I would want to come back to being told I can't get their first names but they have access to all my information. Something needs to be put in writing about the 10min rule for new people who's never been here before. Also management needs to be reevaluated.
Desired outcome: Customer service and policy re-evaluation and something put in writing

Treated unfairly
I have donated at biolife for over 10 years. April, 2021 I found out I had TB. Went into talk to a nurse at biolife (in which this nurse is Kim longer there). She informed me I could not give for a year after I am done taking the medication. For 17 months I was away from biolife, missing out on at least $4600. I return august 1 , 2022 and was told by 2 nurses that it should of only been 3 months I called takeda, they sent my email to biolife. The manager moreless told me I was a liar and didn’t k own what I was talking about and was rude. I had a spea taken on 8/1. 8/15 had another spea, I then stated this wasn’t necessary again I just had one. They didn’t care. So I now have missed two more weeks of donating. $200. They have no idea what happened to Aug 1st spea. When asked, they get defensive I get an email that I missed my appt on 8/17, lmao, this is when they said it was pending from the 2nd spea. Wow. So I have missed out on at least $5000 due to them! Emails stopped april, 2021 so I did not receive any “extra” specials to come back like everyone else does. And the manager was not interested in offering one thing, but that I was wrong and how dare I call. Let me know what corporates phone number or email is. I need to let them know what’s going on.
Desired outcome: Reimbursed what I missed out on
I need to speak to someone hire up into biolife plasma please.
April 2021, I went to Biolife, Edgewood Rd. Cedar Rapids, IA, to tell a nurse (whom no longer works there), I tested positive for TB. She told me I would have to take a year off AFTER I get done taking my medication requested by a Physician. (I have donated for over 10 years at Biolife). I had to take 17 months off, as she defered me. Add that money up, thats over $5,000 that I lost out on. Also, the emails stopped coming once I was taken off the donation schedule, due to her deferring me.
I return, August 1, 2022...2 different nurses that day informed me, I should of only had to take off 3 months. Also, they would not accept a new donor coupon I presented to them. Yes, I wasn't a new donor, but everyone else gets over the compensation amount weekly for coming back. !
August 1, they took a spea.
August 15, they took another spea. I told them that was not necessary, I just had one. It was lost. ?!?!?! In turn, I was pending AGAIN. AGAIN lost at least $200.
I contacted Takeda, they contacted the center. Merry, the assistant manager answered my call, when I had to call her. She was very defensive. She told me that was not the nurse that told me. She told me it was an IT problem I didn't get emails, she moreless told me to go away. WOW...
I've since switched centers, I'M out at least $5,000 in which should be reimbursed to me for wronged treatment. Also, I have received emails weekly from Biolife once I started donating August 1. Weird as that is.
If you have any questions regarding any of this, I would appreciate visiting with whomever.
I will be awaiting an answer on how this is going to be handled, please and thank you!
Assistant manager talking down to me in a disrespectful manner
Assistant manager on dude, female, dark hair, august 19th, 2022, around 4:40pm, disrespectfully talked down to me in a rude tone and raised her voice at me in a private room, after asking to talk to me pulling me away from getting vitals done after I explained to her that I wasn’t sure what scale I was making sure I’m allowed to be on because of the weight limit and when I stepped on the scale she started to make up her own rules, I’ve been donating plasma since 2013 and I am aware of how protocol goes, I demand compensation and disciplinary actions to that worker for basically banning me and me losing out on the compensation that I would have had if I had been able to continue to donate
Desired outcome: Compensation for all the donations I would have had if assistant manager banned me, obviously I can’t go there because of her made up rules
Permanently deferred
I have filed a complaint about being permanently deferred due to the incompetence of their nurses. When I initially did a physical the nurse did not note one of my piercings in which I have had since I was a teenager. When I went in for my yearly physical I let the nurse know they were missing a piercing of mine on their diagram. I explained I have had it and was treated like a liar and deferred very rudely with no other comment other than "there is nothing I can do about it". As a nurse myself, I know a nurse has to do an overall assessment of the patient. This means ask questions to obtain patient history, view the patient, look and listen to the patient. This was not done. I will contact Biolifes entities that ocersea their operations. I will also be calling the nursing board so that they may do an investigation. I have never been so upset or treated so badly and unfairly.
Desired outcome: I would like to be able to donate at my facility again due to the location.
Still no word recieved, you can leave a complaint but nothing is handled!
I have already filed a complaint this is my second, they stated its been resolved and it has not!
Payment
I donated on 9/18/22 at 1:45 pm which lasted until about 2:40pm. At approx 4pm I received an email for a $50 bonus (over 2 donations) between 9/18/22 and 9/21/22. I have my second donation schedule for this Saturday. I should be honored the first bonus of $25 and then the second once I donate on Saturday (9/20/22) I’ve emailed and called leaving numerous voicemails and cannot get anyone to answer
Desired outcome: $25 bonus to my account
Deferment
Last year when I first started donating plasma I went through the physical and screening process. This year Upon returning for my physical there was a piercing on my top of my left ear that they had not noted. As a nurse myself I believe your nurses are supposed to do an assessment at the beginning of donating. As I did not know what I was doing when I first went into donate I don't see this as my fault. I have not had any new piercings or tattoos and all of my piercings are older than 10 years. I was then deferred forever because one of your nurses did not know one of my piercings. I would not have left out a piercing upon questioning I feel your nurse made a mistake and I must pay the price now and I cannot donate any longer because of it. This has upset me and I will be sure to tell my family not to donate with you as well as my friends and colleagues. If there is any way you can work this issue out please let me know if not I am sure I can reach some type of board that you're affiliated with or that does monitoring for your facility I just do not think this is fair in any way because you're nurse was incompetent.
Desired outcome: I believe this is unfair and unjust and I would like to donate again at my facility at bioplasma as it is the closest facility to me in the most convenient.
I need someone to contact me from biolife asap. Greatfulmother1984@gmail.com Carrie Floyd
I have left messages at the link provided and Noone has contacted me on this matter and it has not been reviewed.

I FEEL RAPED on Watson Rd. I will be filing assault charges at that facility. These people are crazy. After asking 3 times before I was stuck how much money it was. I had no intention of staying and the tech knew that. So, she stuck me anyway and after 2 hours came and said Oh yes, it 20$. So that's why you didn't tell me before you stuck me. And they will tell you they don't answer the phone there you have to come in. I would not have wasted my time. I am not a dope fine. Then the guy to came to talk to me didn't work there.
Desired outcome: I want the $80-$100, I call to ask them were they given. There policy is to not answer the phone. Don't use trickery because the lobby is empty and you have a quota to fill.
Rough and rude
I’ve been donating the last few weeks at the McDonough BioLife location.
My veins are small and it’s only a few workers at this location that can find my veins without having to fish and dig multiple times.
The attitudes of some of the technicians are absolutely disgusting if you don’t like what you do find another role that suits you better.
I will be calling the headquarter location to file a complaint as well.
Desired outcome: Customer service Training follow up from headquarters
Plasma donation/payment
Staff is forgetful and apathetic. Whatever. It happens in workplaces, though you don’t really want to see it in healthcare or related fields. Do something else if you don’t care. People just vanish and do whatever.
Wound up with a hematoma on my last visit. No apology. The responsible employee didn’t even try to remedy the situation. Others did it for them. Ended up missing out on work and had to go to doctors. All for $20 too.
Payment scale is messed up. No info. Phone operator had no idea how it worked. You’d figure you’d wanna retain healthy people with good blood who can donate regularly instead of gambling on new people. Makes it seem like retention isn’t a thing because it’s a scam.
Even assuaged first timers’ fears while I was sticking around for observation. You’re welcome. Could’ve told them to leave. But I am telling friends and family to donate elsewhere.
Desired outcome: Compensation of some sort

BioLife plasma services.
I went today for my 3rd donation. My second one was 2 days ago, where they could not stick me, and the girl was digging into my vein. Today it was the same girl. She proceeded to put the needle into the same exact hole that was used 2 days ago, and also started digging into the same exact spot for the second time. She then takes the needle out and says “we’re done here, and when you come back you need to go to management”. I replied “why do I need to go to management?” To which she responds “when you come again you need to go to management because we can’t stick you.” She didn’t ask if I was ok, after digging into my vein. I now have a giant bruise and the site where the needle was is painful when I move it. She made me very uncomfortable and made it seem like I was so wrong and in trouble for not being able to be sticked? Very unprofessional and made me nervous. Why would you make your donors feel like they’re a bad person for you not being able to stick them? She only tried one arm and didn’t even check the other.

Donation
I’ve gone in to donate nine times since June 24, and turned away each time because my pulse is one or two over, but that’s caused by my medications. So that basically means, because I’m a disabled veteran with adhd, I’ll never be able to donate, although every other portion of my vitals is perfectly fine. If plasma is so needed, why discriminate donors who are perfectly health because they’re heart beats slightly faster than you’d like? My resting heart rate is 105-108. Nothing wrong with me, just something out of my control. I can hold my breath and it still won’t stay down to meet standards. Or if my BP goes up after frustration and my pulse drops within range. Outrageous. Drug addicts and alcoholics can sober up and donate before I can because my heart is sped up by medications and asthma.
Desired outcome: If I can’t be cleared to donate, I’d at least like the compensation I would’ve received from giving so much of my time waiting around. The coupon I was given would make $900 for 8 donations, but bonus because I’m military.
donating
About a month or so ago, maybe (probably) longer they took their 4 month sample. I was told afterwards that protein was low on that sample. I would have too resample, so I did (after waiting 7 days). Then I would have to wait 7 to 10 business days while the 2nd sample was sent to a doctor to be tested. So I waited. On the 7th day I stopped in to check on...

I have been donating plasma for awhile now but after these last few weeks I believe that BioLife has gone down hill. They seem to keep over scheduling for appointments and understaffing their centers. This has caused the employees to rush during donations and this last time I went I had an issue which has never happened. This could be prevented if they...
