Went to Labrador city Canadian tire store on April 3 2019 to purchase a dewalt 10 inch mitre saw that was in flyer on sale . Customer service told me that it was on the truck an go be unloaded that evening. This is the last day of the sale an I went an paid to make sure I would get my saw once the truck is unloaded. Read full review of Canadian Tirebattery warranty replacement
Yesterday, april 3, at 5:00 p.M. I took a batter back for replacement warranty to the moose jaw, sk store. Carson, in the service department, said he couldn't do warranty, so he left my battery and a note for the guy to handle it at 8:00 am this morning. I arrived at 9:10, today, april 4, and no one had done anything with the battery. The manager of the store - james - was in the service department and for some bizarre reason he decided to wait on me. They confirmed that the battery was no good and needed to be replaced. This is the second battery that I have got here now that was faulty. I told him I didn't think they gave me the right battery because it needed cranking amps of 300 and this battery was 230. He says he needs the make and model of the lawn mower I needed the battery for. I said it's not a lawn mower. Its a john deere gator. He says what is that? I said a john deere side by side. So he looks up motorcylce batteries. I said no. Its a john deere. So I give him the serial number. He tries to look it up. He says I need the make, model and year. I said its a 4x6 (model). He says what make. I said john deere. He says what year. So I called the john deere place and got the year. I told james it was a 1997 or 1998. He writes down 1998 or 1999. Then he says - what make? Can you believe this? I was starting to get really annoyed because I needed to get going to another appointment. Then he says we should test this battery. He wastes another 10 minutes and I finally said just give me my money back. He says I would have to check with customer service but I don't think we can do that. But he doesn't move to even bother to find out. So I said fine. Just replace this battery. James says, well I will have to go that the battery off the tester. But then stands there? So I said yes. Lets do that. I need to get going! Moving as slow as he possibly could, he goes and gets the battery and looks at my bill now. He is clearly enjoying the fact that I am getting upset. He is intentionally moving slower and slower and talking even slower. I am trying not to get upset and snap at him. But now he has made me late. He looks at my bill then, which is a warranty replacement, and he says well you paid nothing for the battery? And this guy is a store manager? I said yes, I paid for the battery. And this goes on for another 10 minutes. Until I finally got really angry and said I have to go. Can we get this done. He says well now I have to go and look up the original paper work. I said can I just deal with that guy over there. He is the warranty service guy. He can have this done in a couple of minutes. He says no. So I finally said you are an idiot. And he says well I can't help you now. And smiles. So I said fine. I want that guy anyways. He says well you are slowing me down because you keep asking me questions. I finally left, with my faulty battery and I will never deal in this store again. I told james he was a complete [censored]. And yes, I do not like to talk to people like that, but he very clearly was doing this intentionally to make me upset. He clearly enjoyed this whole scenario. He was actually smiling when I left. Canadian tire must be really desperate for a store manager. Carson, the guy I dealt with the first time last night - is a very nice helpful young man. Anyone I have dealt with in this store have been very nice and helpful. But james clearly should not be a manager. I think he needs to be fire. Carson should be the store manager and james needs to learn good customer services. At 1030 I walked out of the store with my faulty battery.
return an item procedure
... My experience today, trying to return a $7.00 item was not easy nor quick. At the veddar location waited in line for 10 minutes along with the online order customers... Got to the counter and ct employee wants phone number, photo id, address etc. So i'm less than pleased as I am on a break, have to go to my car and get id then come back into line. The...

Today I went to Pembroke Canadian Tire to purchase and exchange a CO2 Cylinder of the Soda Stream machine I purchased at the same store a while back. I noticed a couple of small signs posted on the shelf where the price was listed for the canisters. The first sign read Great Value soda stream 60 L carbonator exchange refill $35.99 and a circle with 50X Bonus e-CT-money. The sign that was posted and partially on the same sign read Collect $7.20 e-Canadian Tire Money or $8.64 with your options Master card 43-1246 SS 60 L Carb Ex Ref. and stuck to the bottom of that notice was another post it which read Alternate Location 43-1246 SS 60L Carb Ex Ref This item can also be found on Base Aisle 052...I picked up the container with the thought I would be collecting $8.64 of Canadian Tire Money if I purchased this now. Off to the cash I went. I explained to the Cashier that I timed that right as I would be getting more than $8 back in Canadian Tire money and when she finished processing the item and handed me the sales slip I doubled check to ensure I was getting the advertised amount of $8.64 but instead it only showed .80 was given. I said this to the cashier and she said I would have to take the receipt to the refund counter and they would help me there. So I went and stood in line again while one clerk processed 3 other peole and after 25 mins of waiting it was my turn. I explained the problem and she explained there was nothing she could do now since I had already been through the cash and handed in my exchange. I did not accept this answer and asked to speak to the manager . The clerk than got on the phone to summon the manager but instead was given directions on how to fix the problem on the cash register so she could give me the correct credits. When she hung up the phone she explained that she now knows how to do it and would be placing a $4.00 of Canadian Tire money onto my card. I said wait the sign said it would be $8.64 in Canadian Tire money and she said hang on and got back on the phone and said that the woman would be down in a minute to discuss this with me. Now I am waiting again but woman who I presume was the manager as that's who I asked to speak with did come along in about 5 mins and said that the sale was actually over and the sign should of been removed. I said well it wasn't and I should get it at that rate and then she said I wasn't entitled to it as it was only for the purchase of the cylinder at $35.99 and I explained that was what I bought but she said you had an exchange and I said yes and she said that nullifies that being a sale item. I reminded her that a few minutes ago you knew the exchange was given but you were going to credit me with $4 and now you say I get nothing and it doesn't say anything like that in the signs and in fact it clearly states Carbonator Exchange Refill on the sign. I also pointed out to her that I am not a person who returns items all the time and I have been purchasing a lot at their store as she should be able to tell from the credits of Canadian tire money I have on the card but that made no difference to her and said I am not going to get the credit now so it was like I was now being punished by her because she had to come down the stairs and explain this to me as prior to that I was going to be given a $4 credit which was the wrong amount according to the posted signs and because I questioned the amount and she had to come down the stairs and explain this to me I was now not going to receive any credit.
I said well sorry your taking this stance because I will not accept the canister under these conditions and asked to have my money refunded and she did a void on the previous transaction and said it will still likely show up as a pending transaction but will just go away in time and was handed a photo copy of the receipt. I said this is no way to treat someone and I would no longer be shopping at Canadian Tire other than to use what credits I now have and I went next door to WalMart and purchased the cylinder. I said you know your losing me over $8.64 in Canadian Tire money and she said have a good day and smiled as I left.
If I do not get any satisfaction of having the posted credits of $8.64 of Canadian Tire money applied to my account and I should receive another incentive for my wasted time and the BS I put up with from the so called manager and the time I had to put forth to deal with this stupid issue which probably cost your corporation a lot more than what it would of to have corrected the problem in the first place, I will terminate all my buying from Canadian Tire altogether along with the MasterCard as there are so many other stores and credit card companies who would appreciate my business. I also have the post it signs that where attached to the shelves as I was going to attach them with the complaint but not sure how I can do that using this form but if you would like to see them you can call me at [protected] and I will send them to you but I would imagine you already have copies. She had asked me to bring them to her so I did that free of charge even though I am not an employee of Canadian Tire. This person really needs to be given some managerial courses don't you think or is it common practice to have customers perform the staffs duties and alienate customers so they do not return? service automotive manager
I was very pleased when Canadian Tire came to our town 4 years ago. I have purchased auto parts from this store up until 2 years ago. Over the last several months when I inquire about ordering auto parts, the woman (I believe her name is Mary) that manages that department has been rude and directs me to another Canadian Tire or local auto service centres. If this is the behaviour Canadian Tire condones, I have to say I will never shop here again. I know common response would be, oh she's only one customer. However one customers word is powerful!
complaint about service given by store employee and manager
Good afternoon,
I purchased a wireless cell phone charger for my automobile. 1X399-3579-8 SPP FIL FOR/TB MK on special for $19.99 ( regular price $29.99) the item was in a closed box that had transparent round tape on each extremity of the box. As I get into my vehicle in the Canadian Tire parking lot I open the box to prepare the installation of the unit. Once I open the box I verify if all the components that are mentioned on the box are in the box. The usb cable was missing. I proceed back into the store to the customer service desk and mention that the cable is missing. I explained to the young lady that the product is fine but I would just like the missing cable. At this point she calls her manger to see if they could provide a cable. The manger refuses without explanation. I ask the customer service agent to speak with the manger. He came within a few minutes. I proceed to explain that the box was missing the cable and I did not wish to return the product but I would just like the missing cable. He once again denies my request. He said it was on special most likely because of the missing cable. It was not written on the box that it was an open box product nor did it mention there was an item missing in the box. The lady that handed the product to me (the product was behind the counter near the key machine) never mentioned that it was an open box product nor that it was missing a piece. I examined this to the manger. His response was that all he can do for me is refund my product and then mentioned to the customer service clerk to throw it out. I then mention that it would be ashamed to just throw out a product that I was half to purchase but I would just like the missing cable. The manger then takes the product and tosses it in back. At this point I have no choice to get a refund she he did not even give me the option to keep my product that was not yet refunded. The manger was arrogant but did remain polite. I normally never make a fuss about these kind of things but I felt that this was a very bad experience. I will return to a Canadian Tire but not in my home town. Very disappointing service that I received.
car battery
Bought a car battery February 2018 for my elderly parents' 2002 Honda Civic and the battery was fine for most of 2018. Had some starting issues and CAA was called to boost. The past week, the battery died 3 times and had to be boosted. CAA was called these times to boost and they said the battery was no good. I called a local Canadian Tire and asked the question if I could not find the receipt, what could I do. She told me that it should be in their computer system and confirmed that it was. That way I did not require a receipt. After a boost, I drove to a close Canadian Tire to exchange the battery. They said they would charge to take it out and put back in so I said I would do it myself but I could not get the bolts off the connection because they were rusted and asked for tools. Was told they no longer have tools to lend customers in their own garage, because people don't return them. So I had to leave with my elderly parents and take them back home with a car that probably wouldn't start again after turned off. My husband came to boost the car after work and we took the car home to use proper tools to remove. Took the battery to the Brampton store at Hwy 10 and Bovaird and asked to exchange the battery. They said no, you need the original paperwork. I said I called another store and also physically went to another store and they both said if it was in the system, no paperwork is required. This guy said they don't do that. It was store policy. Was quite rude too. He was the Service Manager as well. My husband said no wonder Canadian Tire is loosing customers because other places would do the exchange if in their system. What happened to saving trees and everything being paperless. So, we drove back to the store I went to earlier that day. They did the exchange very simply and we left with a new battery. Why are the Canadian Tires not the same. It is the same company, same computer system. Very disappointed and annoyed about all the runaround. What happened to customer service?
canwick hardwood pellets
Purchased a bag of hardwood pellets at Canadian Tire in new glasgow, Nova Scotia. When putting the pellets in my pellet stove I noticed there was a large hole ripped in the bag that had been taped back together. The hole in the bag caused the pellets to get damp and clumpy as well as powdered clumps. This caused issues with my pellet stove. If a product is damaged or should not be resold.
injury
I visited your Clarenville, NL location on Saturday February 16th 2019. I was there with my wife and my daughter. While we were in the sporting goods aisle, a skateboard (or longboard) fell from the top shelf and hit me on the neck and shoulder. I brought the skateboard to an employee who took it but did not seem too concerned about the incident. I didn't feel much pain at the time but a few minutes later I started to feel a sensation in my neck and rear shoulder so I decided to ask for a manager. I spoke with a supervisor who took my name and number and made a note about the incident however she did not have any official paperwork to fill out and said I would be contacted by a manager. As of today, Tuesday February 19, I have not heard from anyone. I seem to be feeling ok as of now however I feel that it is very important to have this recorded officially as a safety concern. Had I been standing a few inches to the left it would have hit me on the head or if it had hit my 13 year old daughter and this would have been a much more serious incident. I am looking forward to a response from Canadian Tire to indicate this has been recorded and long term corrective actions are in place to protect the safety of you clients going forward.
poor customer experience
I happen to go to your McLaughlin store in Brampton today. I called the store and asked if they have winter tires and rims as they were showing available online. I was told they are available by the staff. When I went to the store after 1 hour of wait I was told that they don't have tires and rims available. The manager George was rude and highly unprofessional. I asked for manager on duty - he clearly told me that the store manager is not Interested in talking to me and is not interested in listening to my experience. Oil change took only 2 hours. Andrew (Manager on duty) didn't bother coming and talking to me. All I can say is, you have lost a loyal customer and I will never recommend anyone to visit this store. Horrible staff and highly unprofessional
vehicle inspection
I booked an appointment for engine heater installation and car mechanic took over my car, saying that it will take an hour or more to install the piece. After an hour of labour he called me to say that I already have engine heater and that there is nothing to be installed. I wasn't aware of that as this is my first winter with this car that I purchased a...

My name is Doreen Kaschl, I live in a small town called Imperial Saskatchewan. We have shopped at Canadian Tire for as long as I can remember and have been pleased with the products and service we have received.
In December we purchased a remote car starter at one of your stores in Alberta while we were there visiting. We have tried to find someone at one of your centres to install it as we were told only Canadian Tire can do the install. Well as it turned out no one is trained to install this because I have a KIA Sportage which is a push button start. My husband tried to return it this morning in Regina and your stores will not take it back because it is over 14 days. This is unacceptable the packaging has not even been opened. I would like this resolved as this has really made us feel like we will not ever shop in your stores again.
I can be reached by email at [protected]@sasktel.net or on my cell at [protected].
Please get back to me as soon as possible.

Booked an appointment...showed up on time...had to wait in line for 20 minutes to talk with the one person who they had working at the desk...said the job would take one hour...waited 1 1/2 hours and my car was still sitting in parking lot...stood in line for another 20 minutes to ask how long it would take...the guy working the desk said "it is cold outside and we are really busy so can't tell you when". Suggestions: 1. if you are going to be open then have enough staff to deal with the customers. 2. Don't lie to customer just to get their business.

Read full review of Canadian Tireauto centre 407/dufferin
In the evening of 23 January I was driving on the road near the 407/Dufferin street. Suddenly there was a horrific grinding noise coming from the front end of my car. I immediately went to the store, I got to the store at 6:30 and asked the service manager on duty if he could hoist the car up and have a look for me what would cause the grinding noise. The store closes at 8:00 and I offered to wait.
The manager came back to me after talking to a technician and told me that none of the technicians wanted to do the work and he would not be able to help me. I mentioned that I felt the car was not safe to drive and could he please ask the technician again - he refused. He was incredibly rude.
I managed to get the car to a repair shop around the corner and they took a look - The car was severely damaged and was in fact dangerous to drive. He could not believe that Canadian tire was so rude and uncaring.
This has not been my first experience with the rudeness of the 407/Dufferin store. I was so angry with the uncaring attitude of the manager. Needless to say I will never ever set foot in the store again. I will also be telling all my contacts of this experience and I will be going out of my was to let everyone I know not to visit this store - They Just do not care.

Hello, Pls find this as a serious complaint against the manager of one of the locations located at Sheppard Avenue East and Mccowan Rd, Scarborough, ON. I got a portable heater for 69.99 on Jan 16, 2019 and tried it for 1 day and was not satisfied with the performance. Therefore, went on Jan 18, 2019 to return it when I got to know from the customer...
Read full review of Canadian Tirebattery purchase
Hello there, my name is Ryan. I live in Turner valley Alberta. I have been a loyal Canadian Tire customer for over 20 years. I have 2 Canadian Tire credit cards and I spend alot of money at Canadian Tire. One of the loyal purchases I have made over the last two decades, has been automotive batteries. I can say that in those 20+ years I have purchased at least 25-30 batteries for all of my vehicles including friends and family. I have done so because I knew that I could count on Canadian Tire to stand behind their warranties if anything were to happen.
I purchased a new battery on October 12 2018 from the Okotoks store which is our local store, for my winter pickup truck. Fortunately we haven't had any snow so I haven't even had to drive it. This past Thursday January 17 2019, my wife had an appointment in Red deer ab. It was snowing all the night before and that morning so we decided to take the truck. I went to the garage, got the battery and installed it in the truck. I went to start it, it was dead. I was upset because it was only 3 months old and hadn't even been used yet. But I thought oh well let's boost it with our other vehicle. So we got it started and we were on our way.
About 1 hour into our 2 hour trip to the doctor, we were driving down the highway and the truck just died, completely, no power, no flashers no nothing in a snowstorm. I called my friend who lives 30 minutes away to come get us. My friend and I removed the battery and went to the nearest Canadian Tire which was the country hills store in Calgary. Even though the battery was only 3 months old and brand new and we had our receipt, they would not return or exchange it. So I had to dish out and purchase another battery! They told me I had to buy a new one and return it back to the store that I bought it from. So we went back to the truck after a$ 70 can Ride to put in the new battery. The truck fired right up, perfect. But now I have this other battery that I have to yet again go to Okotoks and return. We got up this morning Saturday January 19th and drove 30 minutes to the Okotoks store to get our money back for the second battery we now have that we don't need. So we get to the Okotoks store and they say they can't return it, they can only exchange it! Serious? So now I have another battery that I don't even need. I was actually going to return the second battery and buy a new battery for our Yukon. But I would have had to buy a 3rd battery! So we left without buying a battery for the Yukon and now we have this extra brand new battery that is going to sit and do absolutely nothing! Perfect! So now I'm out over $150, I have a battery I can't use and now I have to go buy another battery for my Yukon. So I decided before I spend even 1 more dollar at Canadian Tire I was going to write you guys and see if you are willing to fix this problem. I don't think it's fair that Canadian Tire wouldn't of fixed the problem in the first place, instead of sending my wife and I on a wild goose chase . If nothing is done ill be shopping elsewhere from now on and I'll be cutting up my Canadian Tire credit cards. Thank You.
online order for pickup
I recently ordered online for pickup and had such a brutal experience that I do not want to shop at Canadian Tire ever again. I would be happy to pay more at another store in order to avoid this chain.
I ordered 3 items, and ensured that all items were in stock before placing my order.
One item was cancelled, despite showing that it is in stock.
I received 2/3 items, and upon opening the bag realized that one of the items was completely different from what I ordered.
Thus, I ordered three items from you and ended up with only one.
I had to return the incorrect item, which involved finding customer service on my own, waiting in another line up, and explaining the entire situation all over again.
I spent WELL OVER AND HOUR on an errand that would have taken 15 minutes had I avoided your online order for pickup system.
This was online order ID [protected].
The only acceptable solution is to have these items delivered at no cost to me. I will pay for the items but NOT for delivery.
I am extremely disappointed with this abysmal service.
I await your response at s.[protected]@utoronto.ca or [protected].
With great disappointment,
Stephanie
poor service
01/12/2019
I bought an item online. Called 10 min before the store closes and asked the rep if it's ok to pick the item in 5-10 min later as i was running little late. The rep said np, I could come in and they'll have the item ready. Just 2 min away from the store, i receive call saying that store manager cannot wait and they are closing the store and i will have the pick up the item tomaroo. I was very disappointed and waste of my time. I understand all store have closing hours but i was only 5 min late. Why would you tell me to come and close the store when i 'm almost there. Waste of my time and poor customer service.
