employee harassment
Linda Milette at Canadian tire store in Kapuskasing was extremely rude to her employees while I was shopping there and in front of customers which I find completely unacceptable especially since she is the store manager and it is not the first time she has been rude to her employees. She is also rude to customers and to me too I will not tell my information this is an anonymous complaint. Being a business owner myself I feel bad for the employees as they work their ### off for her and she doesn't have the common sense to tell her employees the problems in private. I shop there about twice a week and at least once a week I see hear with her holier then thou attitude she has gotten power hungry since she got that promotion which should never have been given to her
all products and service in general
Every I buy a garden hose and every I have to bring it back once or twice because it leaks. This is only one product it's seems pretty much everything I buy there has to be returned at least once. I don't know why your products are so bad but I don't think I can buy from you guys anymore. Your customer service is also terrible no one wants to help you and when they do they complain about it. Used to be my favourite store now just seems like a waste of time!
work boots
I bought my pair of Alta work boots on May 2nd 2017, i have had them for two weeks and I have a hole in the heel of the sole and the steel plate is broken. I'm in the field every day on my feet, digging and carrying. They should last more than 2 weeks I find this to be unacceptable. I hope something can be resolved with this matter, a refund preferably or at least another pair of boots to replace them.
customer service at returns counter
I was working in my car and needed parts. I had my dad pick them up for me in my name... He paid by debit card. The following day I took a few things back to
1st day
The store for my refund. With a receipt, the refused my money back because it was the same debit card. I explained nicely that a debt card is the same as cash and that their "instore" policy doesn't make sense. Even with a valid receipt you will only provide me an in store credit... I said what if I lost my debit card and had to get a new one, your telling me I can't get my money back... I said that should be against the law... I then ask for a copy of that policy, we don't have that sir, it's our store policy. She starting becoming rude with me and said if it's against the law call the cops... And walked away...
2nd day
So the following day I had my father meet me at canadian tire so I could get my money back... Well omg. The manager out of all people to disrespect my father & i. She was very rude to both my father and me. She said this was returned yesterday, even after explaining why the receipt was marked 3 times to her, she yelled at me father and he said "I wasn't here yesterday to return it", I finally said enough and looked and people were looking at us
Because she was yelling totally embarrassed I said why are you yellin, the manager said because I can,... I told her nicely that I was getting her fired for that,. And I am also thinking about suing for the humiliation and embarrassment and breach of the policy
I'm a business owner in brantford and i've never been so disrespected in my life as I was today... Oh when I asked for her name she refused to give it to me
purchasing tires
I called on May 12th at 10:50 am inquiring about purchasing tires. I started by selecting the auto parts directory and it rang into no one. Then I called back and selected the auto service. I said the word "tires" and she said hold on a second and immediately spat me back into a dead line where no one answered once again. I let it ring for 200 times with no one even recognizing the call. Is this supposed to be service? Why would I shop at Canadian Tire ever again?
I got a call back from Luca who was quite professional in how he handled the situation. He got me an appointment quickly and I'm getting them installed in an hour.
worst behaviour and customer service
On May 10, 2017 around 5PM, my daughter and I went to sports section in Caledonia and Eglinton branch ( 2360 Eglinton Avenue West, Toronto, ON M6M 1S6 ) because I want to buy her a new bike. She wanted the one with gear changer. We tried some bike and change some gear 'coz some bikes are hard to change gear. The manager named Galyna approached us harshly and said: "You guys don't listen, don't change gear!", she doesn't even ask if we need help. I told her that I want to buy some bike for my daughter that's why I want to test it. She doesn't even help us instead she become rude and no manners at all. I can't believe that Canadian Tire hired this kind of person that doesn't know the true meaning of customer service. For so many years I went to different Canadian tire locations and for the first time, I experienced this kind of behavior. Please teach them the right manners on how to deal with customers. I am really disappointed, I hope that no other customers experience the same way.
administrative incompetence, assault, theft.
On Sunday May 7th my girlfriend purchased a Valencia garden swing from the Canadian Tire on Kingsway Ave, Edmonton. We drove to the back of the store to pick this item up. I handed the receipt to the shipping manager who initialed the receipt and handed it back to me. At that point, upon retrieving the item, it became obvious that it was not going to fit in my car. I said we would return with a truck. I then borrowed my boss's truck. At that point, my girlfriend and I thought it would be better to pick the item up at the Canadian Tire in St.Albert as this one is closer to where we live. We paid for a second swing and picked this one up in St.Albert. The next day (Monday 8th) my girlfriend went back to the Kingsway CT with her receipt to get the refund for the first swing. She was told that it had already been picked up and that she was lying and to leave the store as she is now trespassing. She said she didn't want to leave without getting the $350 plus tax that she was rightfully owed. At this point, after being robbed of her $350 and accused, wrongfully, of theft, she was assaulted by a staff member who forced her into handcuffs. My girlfriend had laser eye surgery on Saturday May 7th and, was still in some discomfort when she set out to get her refund. Now, as it stands, due to gross incompetence, my girlfriend is out of pocket by $350, had the stress, discomfort and humiliation of not only being accused of theft, but being manhandled by your over-zealous and completely incorrect security. My girlfriend or myself have never stolen anything in our lives. We are both shocked, disgusted and appalled by the treatment we received and want to know exactly when we will be getting our refund and what is going to be done to make amends for our horrendous treatment and ensure nobody is treated in this vile manner again. We will be seeking legal consul if this matter is not dealt with promptly and adequately.
manager of sporting goods dept. fort frances, on
Relating to Pelican Stand-Up paddle board advertised in Big Red Weekend flyer. Display picture has the Rider 100 with bungee cord and handles and states Paddle included. When I paid for the SUP board, the SG Manager told me that it came with a paddle. When I went back later to pick it up she said it didn't come with a paddle, "Corporate" made a mistake and paddle wasn't included. I reminded her that she told me that the paddle came with but she lied and said she hadn't. I Respectfully challenged the issue especially as it had been stated in flyer and she told me. She said that she did not have the power to do anything for me and to come back to talk to store owner. Today I returned to ask about the handles and the bungee cord. Nope they don't come with the SUP board either. She would not let me talk but rather scolded me for not coming in sooner to talk to Store Owner. I wanted to know why the handles didn't come with it and she said I can't tell you anything. I said but your the Sporting Goods Manager and she said I can't help you. Then she said "I'm done with you."
product # [protected] rawlings player preferred softball glove 14"
This product is currently on sale 30% off ( 99.99 sale 69.99 )
What I am complaining about is the fact that I can not find this product
in a left hand throw or right hand fit. Only left hand fitting gloves are available. I inquired at 4 stores in my area and the answer was the same
at all 4 locations. ... we choose to carry on the left hand fitting product.
To sum up my complaint I find this choice smacks of discrimination. I am
being discriminated against because I am different that the norm.
At each location no resolution was offered other that sorry about your luck.
impolite manner of shift manager
Last Saturday on 29 April about 12:30 p.m., I wanted to buy some LEDs from Canadian Tire store in Steels and Yong, next to the Center Point Shopping Mall.
When I asked from cashier about the price, a man who claim later that he is the manager of the branch, intertwined and yelled at me and rudely responded: "here is Canada, and there is nothing for free", even the cashier politely excused me, but this manager! harsh manner really annoyed me. I am very unhappy with this irresponsible manner that I believe destroys Canadian Tire reputation and customers' trust.
I am looking forward to hearing from you and making me sure that this kind of impolite manner will not happen again.

car pump / bad customer service
On 04 May 2017, I went to Canadian Tire to return the car pump that I purchased in April, because It didn't work when I tried to use it.
When I first arrived, the supervisor was at the counter told me to change it so I chose another pump but the price was cheaper and I didn't have anything else in mind to buy.
An employee was standing at the counter told me that I still need to buy something for the remaining price because this is the store policy.
I was surprised by this and told her that I tried to pick something but at this moment, I doesn't have anything particular in mind didn't find so please give me the difference or a gift card so she gently told me that the store policy does not give gifts card or return money, they only change the product and she also spoke to her supervisor over the phone to see if they can return the money.
After several request from me to give me the money or a gift card, I asked to speak with the supervisor and after couple of minutes the supervisor came with rude face and told me the same issue and this is the store policy.
I told her, I respect what you are saying about the store policy and the system but I insist on returning the money or giving a gift card and I'm sure there is a way you can do it.
After this discussion, she said to me in a very rude way:"Sir, you have three choices, either take the broken product as it is and when you remember that you need something to buy come and exchange it or take another product so the prices meet the difference or take another working pump".
After seeing the way she responded to me, I told her, I don't want anything anymore just give me back my money.
She told me in a rude way, I'm sorry sir, I cannot give you back your money and I told you the options I have and I will leave now to decide which one you choose and let me know. After that, she turned her back on me in a very disrespectful way and went to speak to another customer.
The employee came to speak to me and see what I want to do so the supervisor turned and said to her, leave him alone and work with another customer.
At this moment, I felt very insulted and humiliated, standing alone on the counter like I am a nobody so then I spoke loudly and told them that this is not accepted and I am a client here so show some respect and yet nobody spoke to me. Then, I saw the director coming so the supervisor went and told him about my issue.
The director spoke to me in a very friendly way and explain it to me and tried to see if he can solve it in any other way and when he find out that he can't he apologized for that, asked the employee to take care of me and left.
I respected him a lot for the way he acted and the professional way he spoke.
I calmed down and I decided to fill a complaint online and not to waste anymore time on this issue and I was still feeling very offended and humiliated so I went back to the store and grabbed any Item with the same price and I returned the new pump because I didn't want to spend any extra money at Canadian Tire store because I was very upset.
I am sending this message because when I went home I realized that the supervisor does not represent Canadian Tire customer service.
I am a loyal client to this store and despite what happened I will remain but I only wanted to share this with you to help avoid any similar act at your stores.
I decided not to mention any name in this complaint but in case you need it I will provide it to the concern party.
tires
I have tires purchased and installed from canadian tire. Four months ago, they opted to "patch" a leak rather than replace the tire. This past Sunday, the tire they fixed blew on the highway with my family in the van on the highway. When I went into the Canadian tire closest to where we were stopped they were shocked that the tire had not been replaced. It feels like the staff at the wellington location in london rushed through assessing the repair and in turn put my family at risk. When I went into the wellington location that had done the repair, I was basically told it wasn't their problem. Obviously, after all this I will never use the Canadian tire auto center ever again and will steer people away from using it as well. A store with tire in the name should have more knowledge and pride in their work.
car
On April 29 2017, in Southcommon, Edmonton, Alberta, I had a problem with my car. I have a Honda CRV 2007. The key of my car was not working . I called a guy to look at the problem. After trying, he finds out the problem is with the ignition and suggested me that i might have to change the ignition. He couldnt help me as he doesn't have the tools to fix it.
Canadian tire was near me so i took my car to Canadian Tire and gave them the car to fix. I had a very bad experience. On saturday they said they had to take a look to find out the problem. I told them the problem and said i might have to change the ignition. The took the whole saturday and on Sunday afternoon they told me that they need more time to find the problem. So they charged me CAD 135 per hour and took two hours to find it. I called them to get an answer about the findings but they said still not done. At around 6pm they said they have to change the ignition. Which will cost me cad 1000 . I had no other option as i wanted to get my car back. On monday evening i called them as i didnt received any update from them. They said it will be done at around 6pm. So i went at 6pm to get my car. They gave me a bill of cad 1399 dollers. They just ripped me off .
I cant believe a company like Canadian Tire can do that. To find out a problem of my car they took so long just to charge me extra and compared to the market they charge me twice more than the market.
I expect 50% of my money back . We need stop them from making other people suffer. It was the worst customer service i got in my entire life.
eliminator ultra agm auto batteries
Had starting problems with my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Replaced the original battery with the Cdn Tire Eliminator Ultra AGM Auto Battery. Continued having starting problems but alternator is fine and no drains on battery. Chrysler/Jeeps "solution" is the battery tests bad, Claiming Chrylser has a state of art battery tester; which Cdn tire does not. Cdn tire kindly replaced the new battery with another new battery. One month later I am boosting the car again.
Have you ever had problems with this battery type with any specific make or model of vehicle?

Canadian tire Meadowvale .invoice #[protected] January 19 2017.Dealing with Desmond Chatura. Had new rad installed, have been back 6 times to get there mistakes fixed and still not fixed. One defective hose, two times for defective thermostats, two times for coolant leaks because the hoses were put on proper. Another shop looked at it and said they over tightened the bolts for the shroud, cracked it so coolant leeks out. Had an appoint booked Saturday April 29 showed Desmond the bolts and he started yelling this at me and said he could not look at it today because three mechanics were sick and bring it back. I am very mad have had to three days off work, lost the use off the truck for three Saturdays and have been in on Sundays when I have showed him where it leaks. I am at the point to get a lawyer and take this to court. Dave Wallace [protected]. 54-7430 Copenhagen Road Mississauga Ontario L5N2C4
sherwood park canadian tire automotive service
On February 27, 2017 I had my truck in to Sherwood Park Canadian Tire Automotive Center for investigation of squealing noise coming from my brakes. Was told that I needed all of my brakes, rotors and drums replaced. Also was told that both the rear brake cylinders were leaking onto my rear drums and needed to be replaced as well. Within a week of getting my truck back, I was hearing intermittent squealing coming from my brakes again. I attributed this to just moisture or break in of new parts. The noise continued to come and go and finally I took my truck in to a mechanic to see what the cause was on April 26th. They found that the rear brake cylinders were leaking fluid onto my rear brake drums. They replaced both rear cylinders and cleaned out brake fluid from inside the drums. I went and pulled out my invoice from previous work at Sherwood Park Canadian Tire and confirmed that I had been charged the parts and labour in February for the rear cylinders. I brought this to the attention of the mechanic who showed me the significantly corroded cylinders he had removed from my truck and was told there was no way that there would be that much wear on two month old parts.
On April 28th, I returned to Sherwood Park Canadian tire to speak with the Automotive Center employees and was accompanied by a friend of mine. I approached the counter and produced the Canadian Tire invoice, the invoice from the auto shop that replaced my cylinders and the replaced cylinders. I explained the story to the man at the counter who then called over a mechanic who stated that the cylinders were probably defective and assured me that these were only two months old. He denied that the corrosion was excessive on the parts for the two months they had allegedly been on my truck. I asked what the likelihood of not one but two brand new cylinders failing at the same time in such a short period was and he provided no answer. He then took the cylinders into the managers office and returned a few minutes later stating that they would refund me the money for the parts only, no labour as he said I should have come back to them for the work. I explained that I did not know what was wrong until I found out at the other shop. He went back to the manager and returned stating again that they would only pay for the “defective” parts, no labour. I told him that that was not acceptable as I had been charged for both parts and labour by Sherwood Park Canadian Tire for a job that was arguably not done. He told me matter of factly that the job had been done and I should have come back to them. At this point my friend asked to talk to the manager as this was not a reasonable solution at which point a second mechanic who had come in from the shop told us that we should take the refund and leave before we got removed from the premises. My friend again asked to talk to the manager who came out of his office and stated that they had done the work and that was the end of it and that he didn’t appreciate our accusations. I told him that we weren’t mechanics but were going by the other shops determination and the fact that my truck brakes were no longer making the squealing noise after replacement of the rear cylinders. My friend asked to talk to his boss to which he replied that he was the boss. He again stated that that was the end of it, turned his back on us and went back into his office. Feeling frustrated, threatened and disrespected I felt no other option was left than to take the money for the parts. I asked that they do this to which one of the mechanics stated that that was off the table now. My friend told him that that was petty and wrong, the mechanic went back into the managers office, we heard laughing coming from inside then he returned and told the desk man to take us to customer service for the “defective” parts refund. They insisted that I leave the parts there if I wanted a refund. Customer service issued the refund onto my credit card and we left.
Summary of Issues
-nobody was willing to give me a credible explanation of the significant wear to the rear cylinders for such a short period of time.
-the manager did nothing but bulldog his way through the situation in a curt and disrespectful manner.
-nobody was willing to explain to me the likelihood of two allegedly brand new cylinders failing at the same time over such a short period of time. In retrospect there were symptoms within a week of the work being done.
-the mechanics and the manager were disrespectful and unwilling to discuss or bring logical resolution to the topic.
-I was left paying over $500 for a job that was not done by SP Canadian Tire that I was charged for.
Can be contacted at780-288-1148. I would like to speak with a respectful and reasonable person to bring about a proper resolution to these issues, please.

lawn chair
I purchased a lawn chair (rocker) on April 24. I had the Canadian Tire employee put it into my car.
He had difficulty and pushed very hard on it to close my back door on my SUV . When I got home and removed the chair from my car the top had been badly damaged. I called the store to see if they had any of these chairs left and they had three. I asked if they could hold one as I had to wait for my husband to get it back in the car.
I was told "NO" that is not the policy. However I felt that because my chair was damaged by their employee that they should at least hold one for 24 hours.
The manager this evening said they would not hold one for me even under the circumstances. Apparently the owner has this policy but I wonder if he even considered extenuating circumstances.
My husband had to come home early from work and I had to miss a class tonight in order to get back to the store immediately.
I try to shop in Canadian stores but I do know many stores would have granted me this request. Very disappointed. It was such a small request or so I thought.

product not as advertised, parts missing, poor customer service,
I too am very angry about the advertised stand up paddle board (april 20 -23 flyer ). I phoned the Maple Ridge location at 9am opening on Thursday April 20 morning to ensure they were in stock. I wanted to purchase 2 boards. My call went to voice mail. No one returned my call. When I went to store I was told they only had one . I waited for well over an hour for it to be located and brought to loading area. Was told that paddle is not included even though the ad states that it is. The manager there decided to honor the ad reluctantly. An employee at the sports desk phoned the Mission location to put another board on hold for one hour ensuring that the paddle would be included in that purchase as well. When I unloaded board number one at home before heading to Mission, I discovered that the fin was missing. In mission I waited yet another hour for the Sale Item to be located and brought to the front of the store. Meanwhile another customer buying a board was complaining about the lack of a paddle! The sporting goods manager insisted that a correction notice was hung with the boards saying the paddle was not included. ( how could this be when no one could even find the board for an hour?!) I related my claim that Maple Ridge had phoned to ensure my paddle would be included...the store manager in Mission said No. So I now have 2 boards and 1 paddle. The product is not a good deal or sale $ without the paddle. The quality is not as expected as the item is missing the fin and the bungee straps and carrying handles shown in the photo of the ad in the flyer. The service was poor and the employee in Mission had a negative attitude. No assistance was provided to get this heavy, hard to manage item to my vehicle. So very disappointing. I want my paddle.
