the public women's washroom
On Tuesday November 29th I visited Canadian tire with my husband. I went to use the ladies room only to find absoule filth!
The door to enter the ladies room was black filthy. The walls inside has splatter marks of who knows what ! The smell was atrocious. The child's tabe was left open and I could see it was repulsive. I don't know what mother would use that for her child !
And lastly there was no where to hang my purse and jacket ..
It was an awful experience. Worst washroom I have ever seen.
Management definitely needs to speak with the cleaning crew and ask them really what they do when they go clean the washrooms. Like really?
Very disappointed customer

return/exchange
I purchased tire chains 3 days ago. Before the purchase I asked the person attending the section what the return policy was and he informed me within 3 days. I then proceed to checkout and ask the same question to the cashier who didn't know and called on someone to assist me. That person turned out to be the same person and repeated that I can return/exchange within 3 days.
I go to the branch to return the chains today as I found a cheaper alternative to find the store manager coming all the way to say that tire chains cannot be returned but only exchanged with similar.or different size tire chains and that he had a sign posted saYing the same. When I told him I never saw his sign and what the salesperson told me he said that the salesperson meant exchange for tire chains.
I find the store manager response appalling and find that I was mislead at the point of sale, despite my repeated request for the policy, by the saleperson when he failed to clarify the stipulation that they can only be changed for similar tire chains.
Care to read out what is written on the receipt just under the price of the Chains?
It is quite explicit. "exchange only within 3 days. ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS. "
Don't know how much more obvious it can be.
poor customer support
The employees are great, the management and owner need to learn some communication skills. They managed to turn a question into an argument with their offer of buy it or not.
Don't ask to speak to the manger, they are in meetings and the owner has his Tim Horton's coffee so he too is too busy to speak to you. All I wanted to know is why a product did not have a box, nor was being discounted for being scratched. If I am buying new, I want it new, in perfect condition. Is that too much to ask for? At this store, yes it is. They are too busy to talk to us.
I am now boycotting the store. They don't appreciate our business.
1.5 hour shuttle,
Currently waiting for a shuttle to pick up my car after having winter tires put on. After confirming at 12pm that's I will be picked up at 5pm at my work, I am still waiting to be picked up at 6:34pm. After numerous calls and being told there is a driver change, ... to it's on its way, ... to it left 10 mins ago. My work is a 5 ' min drive to Canadian tire!
This is the heartland Canadian tire in Mississauga on Mavis road.
Still waiting!
buying winter tires
I ordered 4 winter tires online from the Canadian Tire website. I got my order confirmation email right away and it said that it was in progress and I had an expected delivery date for a few days after I placed the order. After that I heard nothing. It took them about 2 weeks (just under) to email me that my order had been cancelled. I don't understand how it took them so long to get back to me and not even compensate me for my wasted time. I could have went elsewhere for tires much sooner. I'm very very unhappy with their service and will take my future shopping else where.
customer service was extremely rude after they gave me wrong part
I went into the Canadian tire in Trenton Ontario October 21/2016 and asked parts desk for a specific light bulb for my vehicle they gave me the bulb that came up in computer. When I got home and tried to replace bulb it was wrong one. October 22/2016 I went back to Canadian Tire in Trenton Ontario to return the bulb they had given me and get the proper bulb. I asked courtesy and after previously dealing with a rude customer infront of me the employee told me that she can not help me and was rude when I asked to speak with a manager. Before I could speak with the manager I waited while the employee told the manager her side of the story and with out even talking to me was rude and informed me that I did not buy that light bulb there because her computer did not say so. The whole time all I wanted was the proper bulb that's all I had to take apart my vehicle and brings the whole light in to prove I was right and they were still rude and disrespectful taking off their name tags so I could not get their names also when I asked to file a complaint the informed me that I was to never come back for no reason. I would like to speak with the head department about this I had my 8 year old daughter with me and even she was disgusted with the lack of service and respect.
substandard service
Yardworks (should be "doesn't work")
Hedge Trimmer 22" Model [protected].
I broke the plastic handle, guilty! However, 20 or so days ago I called their Customer Service and ordered the replacement. [protected]) Part $5.00, shipping $15.00. Gave them all my info along with credit card. They said card would be charged when replacement handle shipped in 7 to 11 days.
I was happy. How naive of me.
Well today I called to find out where my order #SO 240296 is. After about 6 or 7 minutes told they were cancelling my order. NONE IN STOCK AND NOT SUPPLYING IT ANYMORE.
Customer Service is substandard by any measure, no call, no email, no contact until I called I would never know that I am now stuck with a $119.99 (plus taxes) trimmer I can't use!
Oh, best part, told to " buy a new one" ...when I objected gave me name of service shop, 35 kms from my home, that, their words not mine " not likely to have one but call them to see if they can help you" WOW ! How is that for backing your product and caring about your customers.
My last purchase from Canadian Tire and the substandard Yardworks product and service.
magellan 2525 lm
Bought the Magellan GPS 2525LM at Canadian Tire brought it home and opened it up. After charging it up I tried to input an address, when I needed to put in the postal code I couldn't as it only accepts a zip code also when I entered a city (Pickering) all that would come up was Pickering, NB. There was no way to change it to Ontario.Looked in settings under region only can't change it to Canada.I returned product to store to purchase another model but the policy was if you enter an address into it you can't return it.I guess I was suppose to know this product is designed for the United States and not so much Canada.
This item was purchased Sept 30/16
Item returned Oct 2/16

gas pumps.
Several of your gas pumps are not accurate leading to customers receiving less gas than they are actually paying for. We have tested several of the pumps by filling up the same gas can each time and getting less gas than we are charged for.
The pumps in question are the ones at Lansdowne Sreet West in Peterborouh, Ontario, and also the ones on Number 2 Highway in Cobourg, Ontario (in front of the shopping mall).
We have been testing the pumps in these two locations all summer and customer is definitely being short-changed in amount of gas they are paying for.

Rude Unethical Behavior of a Customer Service Rep/Manager

On July 8, 2016 at 8:18AM, Friday I went in to Stouffville Canadian Tire Branch to return the defective swim shoes I purchased a day before. I lined up, when it’s my turn the Customer Service Representative/ Manager Jessica M. asked what’s wrong with it so I said “there’s a defect on the item I’d like to exchange it”. She asked me to get another pair so I did, it only took me less than a minute to get another pair as it’s not very far. So when I came back to her she’s attending another customer which is understandable so I waited for her to finish. I also tried to wave at her with the replacement shoes that she told me to grab to let her know but she ignored me pretending not to see me even I’m just literally 3 feet away from her (behind the customer she was attending). When she was done with that customer, I said to her that “I got the shoes” and she told me rudely that “there’s another customer here waiting” so I said, “But I’m here first, Isn’t it first come first serve?”. She ignored me again and basically made me line up again. When it’s finally my turn I said to her that “I don’t think your being fair as I came here first and you made me line up again. It should be first come first serve basis. You even took my receipt and item for exchange (in my normal tone).” She abruptly said “ You’re almost done right?”. Slammed the receipt on me to sign it and said “Have a good day!” rudely. I just walked away shocked on what just happened as I am not expecting this unethical behavior especially from a Manager. This is NOT acceptable. I'm or was a regular customer in this branch. This is not the first time that this Customer Service Representative/ Manager Jessica M. has had this attitude towards a customer. I will be consulting a lawyer regarding this matter.
Agreed on Rude Unethical Behavior of a Customer Service Rep/Manager comment! Their customer Service is the worse! The staffs aren`t well untrained and so rude, including the manager level staffs. I won`t shop there anymore, care my business somewhere else!
What about all the other people in line? You should be able to step in front of them? Would you like that if it were you in line and someone stepped in front of you? You would not care that they were just exchanging something. It is rude of you to try to break the line.
Yes, sounds like poor customer service. I do believe that you should've been served right after the other customer was dealt with first. As far, as contacting a lawyer, that is too silly. Sorry.
service
Today I had one of the worst days of my life. I am a Canadian citizen and father of five children. And I'm almost 60 years old. But I have never felt so humiliated as they are today. I am ashamed that these people live in this wonderful country. Today I came to gaz station to fill my car. I'm doing this for 12 years at the same place. This Canadian Tire gas station at the intersection of Newman and Shevchenko in Montreal. I usually pay on the spot. but
This time, there is something not working there. And I went into the building to pay for that. Young office worker told me that there is no gasoline. But I have noticed that many people filled in their cars. He told me again that there is no gasoline at all. I could not understand the reason. Because there was a queue of people who paid for refueling machines. I asked again, why I can not to fill my car. The guy told me that there is no gasoline For Me. It looked insolently. It was like discrimination. I tried to find a supervisor, or at least know the name of the seller. He told me that he has no name and there is no a supervisor. I did not know what to do. I even called to 911. But it was stupid of course. I tried to call you. But it was difficult to understand something. Unfortunately there was no menu in English. As a result, I lost there in about one and half of hour. Of course I could go to another gaz station. But why should I do it? I would like to respect myself. As a result, another man came to me. I explained the situation to him. He offered me to fill my car in the amount of $ 30. I agreed to go out quickly and do not return there again. And my products (ice cream, meat, fish) is not suitable for use today. I bought it for a holiday. My head was about to break. It happened happened today 23 July 2016 at about 4 PM. On the eve of a good great holiday. I ask you to protect me. I hope that you will be able to protect me. I made a couple of pictures of this arrogant guy. He laughed and made fun of me. It was like torture. I do not know what is this. Racism, discrimination, or this cruel folly?
garden shed [protected] (flyer price not honoured)
I found this garden shed [protected] on sale in the Canadian tire flyer on sale for $547.99 regular $649.99. I called and searched CDN tire's to make sure they had it in stock because in the flyer you can see it says "please allow 2 weeks for availibilty in some stores" I talk to someone in seasonal at CDN Tire located @ 5200 Richmond Road SW Calgary. I asked him to look for one for me and please put aside for me to pick up. He graciously takes a look to check stock & calls me back but says as per his manager he can't put my name on it but that they did have 2 in stock and it would be waiting for me in trailer #4 for when I was off work. I then ask a friend to put a roof rack on his SUV to help me pick up after work, we head to CDN tire and ask a person in seasonal dept. to see the size and weight of the box. they were able to write down the PC code so I could go inside to pay and also purchase tie downs to make sure to get this large box home safely. The price comes up as regular price, the cashier then gets the customer service manager named Yolanda and she informs me after looking at the flyer I provided for 3 seconds that the sale end the night prior and that she could not honour the sale price. I was floored, I had to search for this garden shed, which was not out on display, the flyer said please allow 2 weeks for availibilty but Yolanda tells me "No that was a 4 day sale and it ended June 12th and I was there evening of June 13th after searching for 2 days for a CDN tire to have this garden shed in stock or someone to actually help me when I called... and because the flyer stated "2 weeks for availiblity" I am honestly not sure if Yolanda could have done anything to honour the price or if she was just doing her job or if she simply did not care for a customer sale because it was not money in her pocket. As far as customer service is concerned it felt more like attitude and that she didn't want to deal with anything because it was almost time for her smoke break. I am absolutely angry, disappointed and want this situation to be rectified. I will put this complaint to anyone and any website who will listen. I felt this entire situation to be such a clap in the face no wonder our world is so cynical and negative. I feel cheated. I walk out without making any purchase. I then have to walk out to the two guys from garden/seasonal who had the garden shed ready to go outside of the trailer and told them the situation and they could not believe that there Customer service manager would not honour the sale, they felt bad for me and I felt bad for wasting their time as they were super helpful. I think we were all in shock that Yolanda wasn't able to help and unfortunately she was their manager and their authority.
please see pictures of the flyer, and the two young men who were extremely helpful and the garden shed left behind.
auto service
Canadian Tire (New Minas Nova Scotia) Auto Service provided me with a quote estimating $2408 in "required" repairs (and labour) for my Mazda 5 2007, following their "Inspection."
I had an independent Mechanic friend look at the car prior to bringing it to Canadian Tire, New Minas. I also took the car to a licenced and certified car repair company down the road. This establishment took the time to assess the vehicle, and indicated that 4 of the big repairs (eg. front strut, front rt caliper, rear right caliper, etc) were not required at all, and that the parts claimed to be damaged or needing replacement were in perfectly good shape). In addition, Cdn Tire mysteriously mistook a loose exhaust pipe for a broken/spent front strut.
The honest shop made all the necessary repairs, and only charged me $1, 081 vs. Cdn Tires proposed $2, 408! I saved over $1, 0300!
Cdn Tire also charged me an inspection/quote fee of $75 for "services rendered." Based on my experience, Canadian Tire Auto Service is lazy, dishonest, greedy, and not customer friendly. Beware of Canadian Tire New Minas.
Why did you bother taking it to Canadian tire, stop having multiple inspections and pick one place to trust, hopefully you will stay with the honest shop and not price hunt. You asked for an inspection/quote and were charged, they may have inflated the bill which I agree is very wrong, but you asked and received a service.

lack of honesty and professionalism of canadian tire crew.
Lack of professionalism:
-The breaks are still not working and your experts have been working twice/two days on my van.
-Few months ago, when I changed front tires, when your team returned my van the front tires had 1 point something bars, while the rear ones they were 4 and half bars. The light indicated clearly the low pressure problem.
Lack of honesty:
-These dents are fresh and the author had rubbed them trying to hide them.
-Why release a non safe van? with no breaks and tires with low pressure!
Really your brand is a disappointment and I will do my best to stop your unfaithful and hazardous business.

flyers and repairs
The flyers say 25.00 gift card with 100.00 purchase. That is a lie. I received 2 cards at cash for a 200.00 purchase that promotional day. When it came to the vehicle repair bill, I received nothing. It's been a year. Today they have 50.00 gift card with a 200.00 purchase except for labor.
Bill, the manager has not emailed me, David Hicks the owner will not acknowledge my gift cards.
Customer service does nothing and corporate will probably not.
They further lure you in with promises of discounts and cheaper repairs than Nissan offered and lie.
store layout
The new owner of the only canadian tire store has ruined the store for most customers. We are unable to move around in the store as he has made he isles too small for 2 people to walk by let alone a cart. The large items are on display 20ft from ground level so you cant gauge size or quality. I avoid my favourite store as its such as hassle. The sale items are never where it makes sense to be, its impossible to find a staff member willing to help you find it or one who even knows where it is without having to ask 6 other people who dont know. Used to be my fav store, i go to home depot or rona or home hardware for all my needs now. I dont even care about the sales at CT because the store is so horrible to navigate now.. Its ridiculous.
Used to go there every week. Haven't been more than twice in the past year because of the layout. It's claustrophobic in the Brandon store with high shelving and narrow aisles. I just shop other places now.
hickory axe handles
In january of 2016 I purchased brand new from canadian tire in perth ontario a yardworks splitting axe with a 4 1/2lb head with a hickory handle. I took said product home and after half a dozen pieces splitting, imagine my amazement when the handle did the same thing. Thinking I may have hit the handle on the block I looked to find the handle unmarked but split right from the center of the head out to a point approx 2 foot down. I went back to said store and purchased another exact same handle, and lo and behold the exact same thing happened the exact same way and place. I returned for a 3rd time and was told I was in the wrong by the way im using the axe by the way I swing it... ?. Anyway being an experienced person I took offense and have since decided to post this complaint. Im actually to the point of not wanting anything I just want others to know of my experience
false rebate?
The Black and Decker Blender Fusion Pro is sold since November 2015 at 50% rebate (119, 99$) . Never be able to see it at the full price since (239, 99$) When I bought it end of october 2015, the pricing tag indicated that the rebate will end after 2 weeks, but this price is still active more than 2 months later On the Black and Decker Website, this product is sell to at 119, 99$ (no rebate). I sent comment on the CanadianTire website.. no answer, comment was never published. I suspect Canadian Tire to use a false advertising for this product.
2005 acura el wheel bearing install
Long story short, the Canadian Tire on Scott Road in Surrey BC installed a set (drivers & passengers) of wheel bearings that I had bought elsewhere into my 2005 Acura EL -BACKWARDS! An EL is basically a rebadged Honda Civic which is a VERY COMMON car out here in BC. If they can't properly press a bearing on a car like this, what the hell can they do? Pic...
