unethical auto renewal!!! care.com steals people's money
I join the group of people that have been cheated by Care.com. I signed up for a month and have been charged for 6 months - without my explicit consent. When I complained, they returned fees for 1 month. How does Care.com justify stealing people's money like this? Such unethical business practices must be stopped. They offer NO option to only use the service for a month. On top of that, Care.com sends a barrage of spam that forces you to click over to the site and they claim that to be utliization. I am extremely disgusted by these shady and unethical business pracitices. Shame on you, Care.com. You claim to be helping people but are really just crooks.
My email address is
charges
There is 3 $20 charge to my account for Sept, Aug and July that should not have been charged to my card as I only agreed to one month when someone tries to pull a fast one which I did report to you. So I should be reemberse for those charges that I did not authorized and I am looking forward towards this being dealt with in a reasonable amount of time

unable to sign up as a caregiver on care.com
I have attempted to sign up as a caregiver three times and after filling out all the information, I'm cut off with a very unclear message that says essentially I'm unsuitable. I was active a year ago and wanted to put my account on hold, but it was impossible to do. The directions to put my account on hold, were non-existent, so I closed it down after I got a job. I have been told that my past information has not been saved. So how would they know my address/background/education/etc? None of my information has changed in years. Someone is lying. There's no way to speak with a human being and get this cleared up. Customer service is non existent. I have received the same apologetic crap email 3 times. I don't know how this business can be successful without good communication/customer service. I would like this to be cleared up, so I get on with my caregiving work. Hope you can help.

scam/fraud
I don't know where to begin. Just so unbelievable how people can run a business. I am hoping this will open Shelia's eyes b/c this site is way off the grid. I'll be getting in touch w/the BBB. And I will be getting in touch w/ a new channel, like 20/20, 48hours, 60 mins. to run a story on their site for sure & go deeper & to investigate their bs.
From the very beginning, scam #1 w/ Indeed, which I also have a complaint for & will also have one from me on BBB. Looking for a job. A simple task. NOT. Found one jog, 2, several; clicked on apply now, care.com. It bring you to their site, which is ok, b/c it gives you more info on that job. Apply now, guess what, I guess you all know. You need to pay to answer that job. According to Indeed that are a FREE job search engine! Care.com should not be on that site or any site, they are expecting to be paid! Since when do you PAY to ANSWER A JOD AD.
Now on w/all scam ads your site receives. I received 3 of them in less than a week. Such a fraud! I just love it when they say, "moving to your area". This is not just pet service. I did put that on hold so I don't receive that anymore.
I have received one fraud so far I think on elderly care which is what I am seriously employed at. How many fakes are out there! I can reply to lets say 5 ads, NO ONE response back. How hard is it to say, job filled or take ad down. Once again, so unprofessional.
I have been asked for my name, address, tel # & a pic. Thank goodness no ss# or birthdate. I am not that stupid.
Care.com lacks knowledge in so many areas, but yet they want your money. Like many people out there, we are very serious about looking for a job. This might be a minor issue to you but it's a major one to us!
You do background checks on us when we get hired, maybe you should do the same when people post ads. Just plan awful. I kept all the ads & responses. I would like someone to look into these fraudulent scams from ads to refunding monies, etc.
Care.com called me back on 9-8-17. We talked about my issues very peacefully.
"premium" business membership to recruit clients
I paid about $100 in order to "elevate my listing" to the top of the list for pet boarding facilities. Little did I realize that if anyone contacted my company, we would need to pay an additional fee to find out who they were. However, nobody ever contacted me. There are no customers on care.com. This is a scam website pilfering money from people seeking work or from those offering work. I called and emailed for a refund and was repeatedly referred to the terms of service which prohibit any refund. Funny thing, no refund for no service offered--the sure sign of a scam is a company that will not offer a refund. I did find out, however, much to my surprise that I am subscribed and will be charged another $100. I asked that this be discontinued and only hope that it will be. I never saw so many scams until I came to the United States.
would never recommend this company
This website used to be free, but then they input new rules and now to contact anyone you have to pay a monthly fee. something about sixty dollars, whiсh is much, but oh well, I needed their help. Even though what they provide is questionable. Because I got contacts of 20 people and could reach only 3 out of them. The others weren't available or didn't pick up the phone. Not sure they really exist.
I found a better website with the same services and decided to cancel my subscription and it was such a headache. And I don't know why but it's impossible to delete your account from their website, so they still have information about you.
Do not recommend this to anyone.
illegal background checks
Care.com does illegal background checks I have a very common name I am in nursing program with no criminal record and they
Suspended my account after getting great reviews from client s on there for years. In the area I live just at local pharmacy another person with my name and same date of birth and same neighborhood. They need do more thorough checks I have a level 2 background with the state of Florida fingerprint scanned.
They did the same thing to me. I hold a license that states my background has to be clear. Care.com said they suspended me because I was unsafe but would not tell me why.

membership was cancelled
I just renewed my membership to find a housekeeper and the day after they revoked my membership and deleted my account. I have no idea why and sent a couple emails via their website and get no responses. They did charge my credit card for 3 months of service which I am unable to use.
I assume I am not the only one that's been charged and not received service, and they should be investigated.
no information on auto renewal
Care.com has charged me for service not availed for.
Services were not availed for charges on 1/10/2017, 4/10/2017 and 7/10/2017.
Transaction ids are:
[protected] for $84.53
[protected] for $84.53
[protected] for $84.53
No email received from care.com that our accounts were going to be charged for these amounts. there was no email in message center. No communication from the company
Desirable resolution of my problem would be a refund for all the charges in the transaction number mentioned.
I have the same issue with Care.com in the UK.
They took the money without my knowledge or consent. They shouldn't be allowed to get away with it.
Did you have any success in getting your money back?
unauthorized billing
I am searching online forums for people to join me in organizing a class action lawsuit against Care.com. I was charged for premium membership for two years despite numerous attempts to cancel and numerous assurances that my membership was finally canceled. I filed a complaint with the BBB, and Care.com said simply (falsely) that I'd had the option of automatic downgrading at the end of the billing cycle. This is simply a lie. This "company" is fraudulent and needs to be stopped before any more vulnerable parents are preyed on. I am a widow with two children, and I've lost more than a thousand dollars to this scam. I will not be stopped and am using the internet to help me spread the word that Care.com is an unethical business with clearly fraudulent practices.
Yes. I am in. please contact me at ascttnyc@gmail.com They have been fraudulently charging me for eight years.
family by the name jennifer h.
I have been threatened by this member of care.com. The job description which she posted was far from what she said and I have worked for 5 amazing families who I met through care.com that want to back me up if necessary while I take action against Jennifer. She was unprofessional and a wealthy spoiled woman who acts aggressively when things don't go her way.
Care.com handled it
employer
There is a couple i've worked for twice and they are very unstable! They treat their employers like trash and constanly fight in front of employees and there child! I dont think its appropriate! Also they have rules about not talking to neighbors, they hide the toilet paper and food! They give there son pizza for breakfast and wont allow me to bring my purse which has my phone, my keys and the usual things a woman puts in her purse! The first time that i sat for him their son threw a rock at my car window and blamed me and wouldnt help me pay to have it fixed! I do alot of activities with the child and he became very attached to me! They have had at least 4 or 5 sitters in the past year because they treat us like doormats! We had a set pay that we discussed and they gave me alot less then what we discussed! They owe me quite a bit of money and wouldnt give it to me so i quit! These people abuse the workers and shouldnt be on care.com! There names are Scott Rosner and Nordia Rosner Please remove them from this website as it is not good for your business! Thank you Bonnie Mann
expected scam
I am a premium on care.com, I applied to several babysitting jobs, one has messages me back and I emailed him name is Scott J, says there relocating in my area from Ohio, he is asking for my name, address and phone number to send me money in advance and wanting toys delivered to my house before arrival, I did not give my info to him, I am afraid he is a scammer..Thank You Stacie, please check into this and get back with me on care.com I still have long emails from him
fraud
They are automatically renewing my subscription without my permission. When you select cancel through their contact us it stops you from completing the contact us and redirects you to an option to downgrade but you never get the option to actually cancel. When you try and call no one answers. You can only leave a message on some cheap answering machine.
Although I signed up for a month period, only, and was invoiced for one month I am continuously billed by this company. They are impossible to contact and are charging me 50 $ a month... ( just found my one month subscription invoice which at the bottom says that if I don't cancel, and how can I? they will keep on charging me.. Why would I need to cancel when I purchased a subscription which ends at the end of 4 weeks?)This company are thieves, how can they still be in business? I would caution everyone NOT to subscribe in any shape or form.

stealing my subscription fee
I have been a member of care.Com for 3 plus months now.
This last month i have been applying to jobs from scammers. I report the scam and am being punished apparently as i am paying to be a feature business and realized for 6 straight days i am not receiving any referrals. I had two people go online to see they can not find me by business name or under business type.
Email care.Com times only to get a generic thank you for your email reply email.
As well, i emailed asking for a credit of funds since they blocked my account and they blamed me for the change of address then said it was the business name and i changed nothing either way they are a rip off and enough is enough!
taking money for subscriptions, but not allowing you to apply for jobs

care.com
Care.com will take your money for a subscription but then tell you the number of applications or applicants has been exceeded when you try to apply for jobs. I signed to to be a pet sitter. Families looking can only see 5 applications at a time. Until they deny applications you can't apply. So, I've paid for a subscription but I can only apply to a couple jobs. They other 10+ jobs available cannot be applied for. So what am I Paying for if I can't apply to the available jobs?
scammer
Hello, I am a member of care.com. One of your member looking for a nanny is a scammer I believe. Bonnie P. Is her" name. She asked for my address and said she'd send check in broken English. Asking for my address. She" has my town and a picture of me and my child from your website. Please contact me back. I am nervous about who this scammer is and is capable of.
Thank you,
Milynda
background checks
Thanks to an email from your company from someone requesting a criminal background check, I sent my information to some random guy named Richard H.
I can now only hope that he's legit, since your company won't give me any information on him, including his Care.com profile, nor can you stop the background check from happening if I change my mind and don't want this person accessing my personal information.
I would suggest making your "tips" more prominent and call them warnings instead.
The customer service was completely unhelpful and worthless after waiting nearly an hour to reach a human.
texting me/annoying me when I am not even on care.com
Uhm ive been off of care.com for a year and I keep getting texts from random [censor] people (Or are they actual people like wtf?!?!?!?) asking me to care for their child! Uhm I am not on care.com, I took myself off. Like how the [censor] do you have my number?! And if its from my area why is it always random numbers that arent from my area?! Fix your [censor]ing website. Its [censor]. Its a scam most of the time. You just rip people off. Like my friend got ripped off and ended up having to pay $1000 — one [censor]ing thousand dollars like thats no [censor]ing joke — out of her own [censor]ing pocket because of this. So fix. Your. Website. Fix your [censor]. Get it all together and just fix it! Get your [censor] together.
care.com suspending or terminating long time member illegally
Hi, I've had an account on care.com for 10 years or around when the website first began & suddenly (as I began looking for a new nanny job nonetheless) I'm suspended & possibly terminated in 10 days due to a recent background check they did which showed a minor consumption of alcohol from 2009! Almost a decade ago! This has never come up to bother me for any job since then, & suddenly the website wants to terminate me. It is actually illegal from the research I've done & many others are having this problem. If it is such an offense, why would care.com suddenly care about that ticket now, despite providing me with jobs in the years since then? Don't bother calling customer service as they don't give you any information besides having you call the background check agency which says you must get it expunged from your record to move on..as for trying to reach their corporate office, it's a complete joke with recordings giving you the run around & never letting you leave a message or speak to anyone although those options are supposedly offered on the recording. I'm about to lose 10 years of my account activity with information, reviews, satisfied employers all because care.com is "updating their privacy/safety policies." If I'm such a criminal & danger to society due to a minor at the age of 20 (now 29) I can't imagine how anyone else with a DUI or traffic ticket will find a job or be able to hire a competent caregiver..it's complete nonsense & their "customer service" is a joke. Why not group "offenses" into categories of danger to society like the law does? A minor consumption a DECADE ago does not reflect who I am now or the care I provide! Another lady's experience was a simple traffic violation from a decade ago, causing her to lose her account & future jobs. I can see a recent assault, DUI or other dangerous, reckless activity causing an issue but really? They're going to lose a lot of business if they shut down anyone with a "record". Care.com does not CARE about anything other than scamming people ( research fraud with them as many complaints have been filed about them giving out paying account holders personal information & charging them in excess) making money & leaving responsible, productive members of society relatively unemployed! I am very frustrated & disgusted at how a caregiving website can not provide reasonable customer service & conduct business in such shady ways. I'll never again speak highly or kindly of this service & make sure everyone and anyone finds out about this.
