CVS simply awful

I had a prescription for Duragesic and one for Norco (written 10/18). I knew the Duragesic script was good for only 7 days, but I'd been sick, so I took it in on the last day (10/25). I called them before I took it, confirming that it was still good (and I knew it was still good from previous experiences at other pharmacies). I also checked at that time to make sure it was in stock, and both questions were confirmed. I went in about 2pm (10/25)and gave the scripts to the pharmacist, pointing out that it was the 7th day for the Duragesic. He double checked the script date and the current day's date and told me I was still good. I told him I didn't feel well and wouldn't wait, but that I'd be in a few days to get it. He said that was fine as long as I turned it in THAT DAY. I didn't get back to the store until 6 days later (although I'd called a couple of days before to tell them that I would be in and to not cancel the script; they said "no problem)." When I went there on 10/31 to get the meds, they gave me the Norco, but they said the Duragesic couldn't be filled because it was "out-of-date." I explained all to them AGAIN, and this pharmacist (a different one) said it was filled (attempted) on 10/27, so that must be when I brought it in. I asked when the NORCO was filled, and they checked that it had been filled on 10/26. I questioned that if both had been written on the same date, WHY would I bring the Norco in earlier than the Duragesic, which was obviously expiring? She saw the reasoning, and admitted the pharmacy had made a mistake. She said there was nothing they could do, since there was NO RECORD OF WHEN I BROUGHT THE PRESCRIPTION IN! ALTHOUGH I HAD STRESSED THE IMPORTANCE OF THAT. Damage Resulting = I was laid off from my job on 10/10, and I've been ill (pain) for months. My health insurance EXPIRED on 10/31, so CVS made it impossible for me to get this prescription without paying the full price (which is $500+). I wrote to their online email TWICE, but I've received no response. This experience has so exaggerated my depression that I barely feel like even pursuring it. I'm no emotionally sick, as well as physically in a lot of pain, and I desperately need the Duragesic. This particular CVS has messed up two other prescriptions of mine, although never this seriously. I should have known to NOT go to them, but I was in so much pain, I wasn't thinking, and they're so convenient to my house. I never expected them to CONTINUE messing up. I kept thinking that they're a reputable store and that I shouldn't have to second guess everything they do. I'm lost without this prescription and so sick about it because I'm 62 years old with no job, no money at all and no health insurance. I was counting on this prescription to get me through until I could pursue assistance from other sources. Now I don't know what I'll do. The pain is too much without the prescription for me to do anything. I have other financial problems because of this illness, and this experience with CVS has put me over the edge. I'm so depresded and in pain.

CVS HAS THE MOST RUDESSEST AND DISRISPECTFUL TECH EVER! I HAVE BEEN TAKING MY SONS PRESCRIPTIONS TO THEM FOR THE PAST 2 YEARS AND EVERY TIME I GO TO DROP OFF A NEW PRESCRIPTION THEY ALWAYS TELL ME THE SAME STORY." oH SORRY WE DONT HAVE YOUR SON MEDICAID NUMBER, OR HE DOESNT HAVE INSURANCE". I HATE GOING THERE . I SWEAR I M GOING TO WALGREENS. THEY HAVE 100 PERCENT MORE KNOWLEDGE OF WHAT THEY ARE DOING. CVS SERIOUSLY NEEDS TO KNOW WHO THEY ARE HIRING. ITS VERY INCONVEINIENT.

This is a serious complaint that needs to be more than a complaint and marked as SERIOUS mishandling of a life threatening illness controlled by medication. I entrusted Caremark with my Pharmacudical needs. I have asthma. I sent in my scripts and paid the extra $20.00 for overnight shipping. I sent it out on 10/14. It was filled on 10/18 and labeled on...

CVS unpleasant experience

My wife Libby has been receiving interferon since November 2007. She was to have another order shipped so that she could take her medication this past Friday 9/19/2008. The medication did not arrive as expected so my wife called in to Caremark on Sunday 9/21/2008. She was informed that there was an error in the computer and they would be shipping out on 9/22/08 overnight with Fed Ex to be the shipping agent. Tuesday 9/23/08 came around and the medication never showed up as promised so we again called Caremark who told us that there was an error and the medication had been rerouted and that they would find out what was the problem. This morning at 9:30 a pharmacist called me to let me know that he had tracked down the medication and it is indeed in Roseburg Oregon (where we live) and the medication would be delivered by early afternoon. Three-Thirty came around and guess what no medication... So after many phone calls the Pharmacist calls back and says that the medication is at the Fed Ex shipping center and can be picked up before 5:00. I go to pick up the medication using the tracking number provided by Caremark and guess what? The package is not there but is in another town across the state because once again Caremark has made a mistake and sent the package to zip 97491. The Roseburg zip code is 97471. My wife is now 5 days late on a medication that is used to treat Hep C which must be taken on a regimen to continue fighting the virus for 1 year. Now we are 10 months into the treatment and cannot get the proper medication because Caremark cannot seem to ship at the right time or to the right address. This is totally unacceptable and must be fixed immediately. Luckily for us the prescribing physician just did a viral load test and will be doing another one next week. If the viral load has increased I will be immediately contacting an attorney and filing lawsuit. This type of medication kills the weak virus first so by now at the 10 month mark any virus left is the most resistant so as you now if it returns it will be mutated to the point that it will not likely be able to be eradicated by any current treatment. It seems that the name of the business should be carelessmark as there is obviously no regard for the care of their patients as evidence not only by our experience but the thousands of people with similar complaints including those that can be found several websites. I would like others to contact me if they have similar complaints as I plan on starting a class action lawsuit in hopes that it will open their eyes to the way they look at customer service.

Last time I was in here, I heard a man in the pharmacy (who was either a pharmacist or something else back there) yelling at the others that worked there. It made my shopping experience horrible and I do not know that I will go back.

I have used CVS pharmacy for 15 years but after today we will be transfering all of our perscriptions to Walgreens. I work for a large Pharmaceutical Company and as long as we use brand names our perscriptions are free. For several months I have had constant problems getting my perscriptions. I have had to return to the store as much as three times to get what I need. This morning I called in four perscriptions and when I got there to pick them up only three were ready, after waiting in line for fifteen minutes I was told that it would be twenty more minutes. After telling them that I would come back the pharmacist finally told me that once again they did not have what I needed. I told him that I was going to have to transfer my perscriptions because I have difficulties with them every month. He said O.K., that is fine where do you want me to transfer them to. I was appalled by his attitude, like he did not care weather I was acustomer there or not. After he realized that he had upset me he tried to smooth things over by stating that most people use generics and unless they order brand names they dont have them. Come on! When you have customers that use the same medications month after month, some of them for years I feel that you need to keep them in stock. If this only happened on occasion it would be different but it is an on going problem for myself and my husband. If you could get your perscriptions free for brand names what would you use?

CVS pharmacy

To Whom It May Concern:

Today, Jan 2, 2010, I called the pharmacy at approximately 11 AM to renew a prescription. The time of pick up was to be 2PM. I arrived at the pharmacy at 10 past 2. My prscription was not ready or even close to being ready.
I saw people picking up their prescriptions. I asked how long they waited. Their answer was 10-15 minutes.

I really feel this pharmacy is not organized, especially for prescriptions that were called in way in advance.

Considering that my family spends $1500.00 to $2000.00 a year on prescriptions, maybe the pharmacy needs to learn time management.

I would appreciate a response regarding lthis e-mail.

I am very close to changing pharmacy's since this has happened on several occasions.

On or about Nov. 1, 2009 an ad came out for plates, cups, etc. to have a picture printed on them for $19.95. Since my Mother had just passed away, I thought a plate would be nice to have with her picture on it and if it turned out good, I would have 4 others made for my siblings. I went to the store noted above and gave them the picture, paid for the plate...

CVS be very careful!

On Christmas Eve, at approximately 9:30AM, I was running errands and stopped at CVS to purchase wrapping paper, ribbon and some last minute items. When I parked my car in their lot, there were four other cars parked. My total that day was approximately $50. I had parked in the lot of the Chicago CVS and asked the employee if I could take five minutes to run across the street (you can see the building out the window) to pick up shirts I had ordered at the Chicago Knitting Mills. The employee called the Manager for approval. The manager simply said "no." There was no compassion or understanding from this woman "in charge." At that time, Chicago was experiencing rain and ice, making driving very difficult. It took me an additional 15 minutes to drive the Chicago streets to find a parking spot in order to stop at another store for five minutes.

My fall total at CVS is over $200. My summer total was at least that much. In the future, I am walking an additional block to take my business to Walgreens. I refuse to frequent a store that does not offer compassion for their customers.

I am employed by Target Corporation. If we treated a guest the way CVS treated me on Christmas Eve, we would be fired. Competition in retail is fierce at this time. CVS will be out of business if they continue this course of customer service.

Its their parking lot, of course you can't just leave your car there while you go do other stuff. What happens when the lot is full of non-customers and no new customers can park anymore? In big cities (like this one, chicago) parking is a big deal..there isn't a lot to go around.

CVS fraud

I brought a prescription into the CVS store on Tuesday, they said they were out, but they would order it and it would be in on Thursday. I knew I had enough until then, so I asked them to order it.

I called Thursday to make sure it was in and they said it was, so I sent my husband to pick it up. He called from the pharmacy a little while later and said it was not there. Supposedly they ordered it but it didn't come in.

I need the medication and cannot skip a day - if I had known that it wouldn't be there I would have gone to another location. I've had many problems with this store and this is the last straw - I will take my business elsewhere.

that's a very unfortunate event that you had. But, this does not in any way, shape, or form qualify as fraud. The meds not getting shipped to that location has nothing to do with the company. They may have ordered it, they may have been told that it would be their thursday but if it did not arrive then, than it's not CVS' fault. It has to do with the company that shipped the meds out, or even the middle man company that was supposed to deliver it.

Sometimes our supplies do not include things that we have ordered in our shipment and we at the Pharmacy will not know this until we receive and put away the order. While we do everything possible to get the medication, it is out of our hands if the supplies makes a mistake.

CVS awful treatment

Sharon Murray of the Whippany NJ CVS is the worst Cashier I have ever seen. She is racist and gives you attitude and makes faces at Indian customers. She also starts insulting them and talks loudly as is she is the store owner. She also does not listen to the manager and is always disobeying. She does not deserve to be in this position if she cant keep her head cool and treat all the customers equal.

Found some rude pharmacy employees at a CVS in Indianapolis, and to no surprise ... the wait area had a book shelf chocked full of anti-gay books and guides. I plan on going out of my way to avoid CVS.

You are not alone. You are a prime example of how horrible CVS employees are to customers. I was a CVS customer for over 10 years until recently my partner & I were victims of a hate crime initiate by the manager of our local CVS. The only reason we filled our prescriptions at CVS was the location was right beside our home. Over the past 10 years we have had repeated, negative comments and attitudes directed at us. Our local KC CVS has had at least 10 pharmacists, only 1 of them have been somewhat kind to us ~ that took over 1 year to gain his kindness. The pharmacists repeatedly mess up our medications and repeatedly neglect to order prescription (on auto fill) that we need monthly. When we call for help the pharmacists & pharmacist assistants are rude and are ALWAYS too busy to help. If they are out of our medications (the ones we order each month, same time), they refuse to call around to find the medication at other pharmacies.

The store manager has made direct hate comments against us, calling us '[censor]' and 'queers'. The same manager has gone out of his way to harass us and attack us. I will file a formal complaint online soon, after we file our law suite against the manager, assistant manager and CVS Caremark Corporation.

Over the past 10 years my partner has filled over $1.4 Million dollars (retail costs) of prescriptions via this CVS pharmacy. I have filled around $800K with my prescriptions. Additionally we spend about $300-$400 per month on miscellaneous items at this CVS store. I promise you that I will not ever spend 1 penny of our money at CVS again. Additionally, I believe others need to know of CVS's negative anti-gay sentiment. I plan to communicate our horror story on every potential Internet site/blog possible. Gay & Lesbian (GBLT) spend a LOT of money on medications... I would love to see all GLBT persons transition their prescriptions to other pharmacies that are kind to GLBT customers & support our iniatives. I plan to do my part to make this happen!

Are customers important? If you work retail and think that your customers don't deserve the best service possible, then you need to quit. You represent CVS, but you should be kind and helpful to customers just because it is the right thing to do. Sam Walton always said "Rule #1 - Our customers are always right, and when in doubt, refer back to rule #1!"

Customers are your business, they generate your revenue. You have lost our prescriptions, our other purchases, and ALL of our business (Revenue). In my opinion, CVS represents the worst customer care associates in business today. It is my hope that any CVS customer who is mistreated or discriminated against will take their business elsewhere.

The best way to impact organizations like CVS Caremark is to QUIT doing business with them. If you are gay/lesbian (GLBT) and still doing business with CVS, I encourage you to take your business elsewhere.

CVS touts Corporate Diversity training, and brags about hiring GLBT employees, but at the end of the day some CVS associates have no problem neglecting and hating customers. We have to stop the hate.

To any CVS associate who finds it hard to help other or finds it amusing to make fun of customers….. some people require more attention than others! Some customers have problems walking, reading, or just finding items in your CVS. It is indeed your job to help each customers to the fullest extent of your capability! Would it hurt you to walk an elderly lady through your store and assist them with their shopping? For you, I assume that would be beneath you. You are the example of horrible world of 'retail' we live in today.

IMO, CVS is the [censor] of the retail pharmacy earth. Why? Well, from what I've seen many CVS associates are underpaid, under trained in customer care, lacking in diversity training, and finally lack the motivation to find their job at CVS to be rewarding.

We all want kindness... just remember, if you seek kindness you must first start by helping others and being kind to others!

CVS diabetic discrimination

I am a brittle type 1 diabetic. I just quit because they accused me of stealing candy. I do eat candy at work when my blood sugars get too low but, it was purchased at wal mart. I showed them that, and they still insisted that i stole from them. Then they made fun of me for being diabetic. I don't expect people to be very smart but, this is ridiculous. This is a pharmacy we are talkng about here. I am furious! It was the location on Seymour highway btw...

I'm sorry to hear of your situation and I'm sorry the previous commenter thinks nothing of your being teased about being diabetic : (
I am a 21 year type 1 Diabetic and was refused my diabetic supplies by a gentleman at a CVS Pharmacy after 1/2 hour of conversation with him where he tried repeatedly to "bait" me to say something offensive, which I finally did. He then told me to leave the store... I called 911 and the police escorted me into the Pharmacy where the "foul" gentleman ( I use the word gentleman loosely here ) ended up selling me the supplies I'd run out of. I called some attorneys and discussed suing but as had happened many, many times before, the attorneys all tried to talk me out of suing based on the assumption that I wouldn't be able to prove a "loss". I'm now taking steps against yet another pharmacy where the Pharmacist told me, "I can't sell you the supplies you need because corporate said I can't"... so, I called the corporate office and the confirmed that they'd never told the Pharmacist he couldn't sell me my supplies, but said they had to back his decision to not sell them to me. I ended up going to another location of the same franchise and after answering several questions, the kind hearted Pharmacist and his assistant politely and courteously sold me my supplies. I wrote them both positive feedback on the store survey and will take steps to right this wrong... yes, ( to the previous commenter ) I will be suing.. so I guess now you'd believe me?!?!

CVS pharmacy tech claimed insurance refused to cover meds

This evening, I went to my local CVS, where I've been going for YEARS! Anyway, I'm in the car with my parents and we're in the drive-thru Pharmacy lane for 20 minutes. An Asian tech kept telling us that my insurance refused to pay for my medication. If anyone has experiences like this, please respond. Also, as I am leaving CVS, anyone that has hada experience(s) with Walgreen's, please respond.

Thx!

Okay... You have to understand that when a person drops of a prescription at the pharmacy, the technicians will do pretty much ANYTHING to avoid problems with the customers. I am a tech at another CVS and this seems to be the problem I deal with every single day. The process includes, taking your prescription, typing it in, filling it for you, and then selling it to you. We bill the insurance and the INSURANCE tells us what the copay is or that a medication is not covered. I hope you dont honestly believe the tech was telling you that your insurance didnt cover your medicine just because they wanted to make your life difficult? We want to fill your crap, and get you out of our faces, that is the plan. The computer screen will say: NCD/PRODUCT/SERVICE IS NOT COVERED. which is your insurance letting us know, Sorry, we're not paying for this. So instead of being a ### to the pharmacy team, call your INSURANCE and ### at them if you think the information is wrong. We don't choose whether or not YOUR INSURANCE covers a medication, they do. CALL THEM and be responsible enough to deal with your own crap. Its not the CVS Employee's job to call and argue with YOUR insurance compnay about the plan YOU are on. If you think it should be covered, go ahead and make yourself useful and call your insurance company. Its seriosuly people like you that make me HATE my job. Its a shame I never get to speak my mind to people like you... My blood pressure would probably be spared. Dumb ###.

This location repeatedly marks sale items with description and price. When the item does not ring up correctly they tell you the sign is wrong. The employees become very rude and refuse to call a manager if you ask for one. Even when you can match an item # and description they claim there is nothing they can do to make the adjustment.

CVS worst customer service

We have a problem with CVS too. We neede the prescription and we were supposed to pick it up on Wednesday aroung 21 p.m. but it is Thursday 9:oo p.m. and after repeated calls and a visit to the CVS, we are unable to get our prescription. Any time we call CVS, we get the response that the doctor has not called in for the prescription. We spoke to doctor 4 times and they told us that they have already ordered the prescription. When we talked to the pharmacy, they were very rude about it.
I don't know in this competitive world, how CVS can grow and survive with this kind of pure customer service. CVS should take dramatic steps and improve their customer service and their equipments.

CVS harassment

Security in cvs pharmacy store # 3621 profiles and harasses me.when ever i"m in the store which is usually right after work because its 2 minutes away from my house which makes it very convient to shop. The security guard follows me around and tells me i"m not allowed in the store. I've never shop lifted there or anywhere else. I've never harassed any employees or caused any disruptions until recently when I asked for a manager to complain about the situation, and the manager toldme he could follow me all he (the security guard) wants.I find that to be wrong and unjust.

CVS prescription price

I recently went into a CVS pharmacy to fill a prescription on a Sunday and was advised that the co-payment was $ 80.00. Since it was a medication that I had been waiting for due to a prior authorization from my doctor for my original medication and had ran out I accepted the co-payment and paid it. On Monday I contacted my insurance, whose name was on my CVS prescription bottle, who then told me I could get a 2 month supply by mail order for $10.00! When I called the pharmacy to complain they told me to contact Aetna that they set prescription prices for CVS? I find the price difference unbelievable and wonder if this pharmacy is just charging what ever price they want? If it is the correct price I can guaranty that no one I know will go to this pharmacy for prescriptions ever again. And since my insurance company name was right on the bottle why didn't they inform me to contact them for the prescription,

Why does everyone think that the pharmacies come up with the prices? Unless your are paying with NO insurance, then that price is coming straight from your insurance company. They dont give a reason why they're charging the price, they just send that price back and thats what the store will need to collect for the co-pay. If you want a reason as to why you have to pay so much, then you need to contact Your insurance company. That is Your responsibility. If you don't like it, have your doctor switch it to something that's prefered.

You must be confused, CVS does not put your insurance companies name and phone number on your prescription bottle. LMFAO. You either (a) went to another pharmacy and you think its CVS (b) are seeing things (c) making up the whole thing

We do NOT set your co-pay. This is the one thing that really gets on my nerves sometimes. A claim is billed to your insurance company, and they send us a co-pay back. There is no way for us to change your co-pay, nor is there a way for us to know if there is a cheaper alternative (i.e. mail0order) without calling the insurance company. Most insurance companies will charge more for retail pharmacies versus mail order. Please be sure to understand this and check with your insurance company prior to accusing employees of scamming you out of money.

If you have insurance, the pharmacy does not set the copay. The pharmacy bills your insurance, and your insurance decides how much of the charge they want to pick up and how much you have to pay. Insurance companies do have lower copays for generic medications and for using mail order pharmacies.

Also @Jack416, all those medicines you listed are brand name and have no generics, your insurance is going to set a higher copay for those unless you switch to generic medicines.

As a matter of routine my local CVC pharmacy in Harrisburg PA adds as much as 20% to any prescription order I place with them. i.e Actos, Avandia, Vytorin, Benicar Moreover CVS does that AFTER I had asked them for the price. Since my prescriptions are very expensive I ask why it is done. Every single time I get one of two answers: either the price is changed or the portion of deductible is applied on this very day. And yet, the stress of dealing with the pharmacy and insurance causes to aggravate the dieabetic conditions from which the medicines are prescribed.

CVS doesn't set your co-pay. Yes it might be cheaper to use mail order with your insurance, but when we bill a claim to your insurance in the pharmacy, we bill directly online. What that means is we send the info to your insurance and they automatically accept or reject the claim. If they accept the claim then they give us your copay. Whenever you see the name of your insurance (i.e. Aetna) that means we billed your insurance. We as pharmacist do not have any way of knowing that it would be cheaper for you to use mail order, unless you specifically ask us to call your insurance to see why the co-pay is so high.

CVS racial profiling while at store

On Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009, while picking up pictures that Husband had dropped off on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009; I was in store doing some other shopping. While in store for approximately 30 minutes, I was constantly followed by some one in Store. I knew it was employee, "watch dog" or whatever you call them. I was highly upset as we have been going to this store even before it became CVS, in which we had never experienced this type of harassment. I asked why he was following me, which he proceeded to pretend he did not hear me. Is this what your company calls, "Customer Service"?

The worst customer service experience.First of all, I dropped off my prescription CVS pharmacy store # 1501 in the morning on 10am.Then after work I went to pick up my Rx.After half an hour waiting drive through tech Jonathan told me that was not ready with rude attitude.I couldn't really believe it almost over 12 hours to fill one Rx.When I talked to the pharmacist, her responds wild and unprofessional. Her name is Bahar Hakami. She has bad temper. She is not fit 21st Century customer service. In short, she has to stay away from that store.

CVS rude and mouthy manager

I never had a problem with CVS before, until today. I was cropping a photo on the kodak machine. When i got to the end of editing my product it said out of paper. I told them behind the desk. Well the manager rushed around to find the paper, came around to the kodak machine and said real nasty"This isn't the paper for this machine, that one back their is out of paper." She went behind the counter. complained some more about me. so i said to her"What is the difference betwwen these to photo machines?" She yelled "I dont no." I said to her"If your having a bad day you dont need to take it out on us." She said, "Oh i f i was taking it out on you, you would know it!" I couldnt beleive this woman! I said to her thats fine I'll just call corporate and have you fired. She called the police! When she hung up she went somewher, came back up front, threw her key at the wall and yelled" tou dont need to call corporate...I quit!". I will never shop their ever again.

WOW! Some people are just I guess downright rude. That totally sucks for you to have a bad experience at a CVS like that, but the person that you came across was having a bad day and I dont think that it got any better from there.
I hope that you took your experience, and turned it around to hopefully brighten someone's day. That is what I try to do. If I encounter someone in the rude to downright mean category, I try to let them know how I feel and then turn the feelings around and try to compliment someone on something they are wearing or something of that nature.
I do and am a total advocate of boycotting. If I have a bad experience at an establishment, I will indeed contact corporate and I wil never go to that store ever again. I am always boycotting something or some store because of employees actions or poor quality of product.
I wish you the best and I hope that you get those pictures you were trying to get copied.
Take Care,
S. Raynovich

CVS no concern for customer safety

I went to my local CVS store last Friday evening at 8pm, greeting me at the door were three rough looking youths smoking cigarettes and clearly hanging out with bad intentions. As I shopped in the store one of these youths entered in and pushed past me, still smoking a cigarette. I am 6 and half months pregnant and was pushed aside by this thug as he wanederd to the back of the store to chat up and harrass two young girls who were trying to shop. I noticed there was no security guard on duty and suddenly, felt very unsafe and felt bad for the one lady working behind the counter as clearly, the delinquents were running the asylum. I promptly put my basked of goods aside, walked out and went over to Walgreens on Superior and Mayfield were I was greeted by a security guard at the door and where there were no dodgy teenagers hanging about the entrance. I will never enter that particular CVS store again, eventhough I have a prescription account there, I will transefer it to Walgreens who clearly care about the safety of their customers and are willing to spend the money to employ a security guard. As someone who runs a business in the area and cares about her customers I am deeply troubled by this lack of concern and dread what may heppen if CVS continues to disregard the safety and comfort of their customers. I happened to be at the CVS on 92nd and Broadway in New York last week and had a very happy experience, there they have a security guard. There, they actually care about their clientele.

I get a weekly penny saver circular and CVS always has FANTASTIC advertised prices & sales. I use my customer loyalty card, I clip coupons, I do the extra work it takes to get the most bang for my buck AND I like to spend my money between CVS & Duane Reade. However, my local CVS has been really frustrating lately. The frequently won't honor print and...
